Hello,

Please how do you call IRCC from Nigeria?
If using dingtone, do you have to buy a Canadian line for 12 months and credits? (How much credits is enough)
If Skype, how do you go about it?
Other suggestions are welcome.

Thank you.

I started applying for jobs from Nigeria and I did my first interview on telephone though when I reached Canada the Job was gone but through friend referral, I did Job test same week I arrived in Canada- I had to choose between two(2) offers, yea, LinkedIn helped in Job search and so is personal referral (Personal referral is actually the best and can be established using LinkedIn).

Today is April 18th and I have already spent 10months of great experience in Canada...I needed to share this because I promised God to give this testimony on this platform

GTBank recently placed a $500USD limit. For a family of 1, 1125 CAD is about $800USD which is above the limit that is why you have failed transaction. I don't know about the limit on other banks but I believe someone with similar challenge here was able to pay with Access Visa card.

Hello,
Please my sister has been trying to pay for her biometric, RPRF & Application fee since 4 days ago from her gtb account but keeps showing declined. We have more than the required sum in the account to pay for it. Did you experience such while trying to make payment?

Secondly, can the payment be done from someone else's account on her behalf?

Thanks in anticipation of your assistance.

Which IOM did you have appointment with? I could dm a contact to you. I was scheduled for 23rd and got this email from IOM today:

"Dear Applicant,

Please note if you are doing an upfront medical ( that is you don’t have a medical form sent to you from the Canadian embassy with regards to your medical), We regret to inform you that your appointment is hereby cancelled.

This is in regulation to a directive from the IRCC to suspend all upfront medicals till further notice due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Please confirm to us your status if you have a medical form from the embassy or not to enable us plan ahead"

Now I am between lost and confused...trying to find out if it is upfront medicals that I am doing. I have ITA. Whew!

UPDATE:
It is upfront medicals- (the medicals submitted along with e-APR). All appointment for upfront medical is cancelled. From the attached picture, I suppose one can attached the cancellation email and an LOE to the e-APR.

slydog:
I'm scheduled for medicals on 24th, I tried sending a mail to iom it bounced back. I want to find out if the test will still go on given this covid-19 wahala.
Pls who has been able to reach them recently?

Hello @Berle,

No, you don't have to include your high school as this activity was completed over 10 years ago. Only fill in your history for the last 10 years.

Berle:
Pls while completing my express entry entry profile, I filled only my Bachelor's degree, which was what I evaluated. Post-ITA, do I have to include my high school under educational history? I finished high school over 10 years ago, so I'm not sure about placing it in personal history.

HI @ifyonline,

I started a campus - based full-time postgraduate study in another country on September 15 (this reflects in my travel history and transcripts), while the end date for the job I had was September 30 ( this reflects in my reference letter/work history).

'Theoretically' , I was working in one country and studying in another for at least 15 days. Mine was short. That is my overlap. I know some people run full-time postgraduate study in Nigeria while working full-time (that will be another example of overlap).

As advised, I will include a letter of explanation, leave approval, resignation acceptance and Schedule A to relevant section(s) to clarify the overlap.

Thank you.

ifyonline:
Hi..

Please what do u mean by work history n education overlapping?

PS: My education and work history overlapped (technically, I was on leave- LOL) From your post, I will address this in an LOE. Thank you for sharing your experience

Congratulations. I wish you success in Canada @DeeCan

Some things struck me as regards PoF in your post:
"8. Proof of Funds - Proof of funds summary with conversion from Nigerian Naira to Canadian Dollar .... screenshot of Nigerian Naira to Canadian Dollar as at day of submission;"

Please, I will like you to enlighten me on the quoted part as I am currently working on submitting my application. Specifically:
1. Can you share a snapshot of the PoF summary (I didn't know about this till now)?
2. Is there a specific website that IRCC accepts for the conversion rate?
3. What website did you use for the conversion rate?

Thank you and congratulations.

PS: My education and work history overlapped (technically, I was on leave- LOL) From your post, I will address this in an LOE. Thank you for sharing your experience

Missnonny:
Please can a BNSC holder evaluate public health transcript with WES to get 2 or more certificates for Canada's express entry?

Hello @Missnonny, When you say 'public health transcript', what does that mean?
Are you saying that:
1. You have a post-graduate degree in public health OR 2. You took a joint undergraduate degree (with public health)?
If 1 is the case, it will be evaluated as 2 or more degrees. However if 2 is the case, me no know. Experts in the house, please step in.

If you have other experiences to give you the needed 3 years or whatever years you claimed then only put your current job in your history

Hello Everyone,

I just found this forum today and I have spent a little over 5 hours getting information. Thank you to everyone that has taken time to post valuable information here.
Anyway, here I am 3 years after I first heard about Canada EE (The delay was my doing). For example, I took my first IELTS General to test the water in February 2018, scored 8.586.57.5 and shelved it. Then, I created a WES account December 2018 but didn't start processing of transcript (to send to WES) till May 2019.
A major reason for the cold feet was due to my experience of the loneliness of living alone in a foreign country during my masters. Kia, I missed my family and Nigeria alot. However, as Naija don show me pepper, I am energized to face it and ready for my Canada life. cheesy So, I resumed the journey in December 2019.
As my IELTS was going to expire (plus I needed to max out), I took a second IELTS in December 2019. This time, I gave it the seriousness it deserves. I received my ITA on February 20 and I am excited to see this journey to the end. I look forward to a shared learning experience with you all on this journey.
I have some questions...
1. Where do I get the police report in Abuja?
2. Do I need to attach evidence of my current job? (I am not using this to get point in the work experience as I don't want my CEO to know I am planning to ja. The CEO will have to be informed if i request a reference letter)
3. What is the cost of the medical in IOM and what tests are done?

I have looked through the first and most recent 20 pages...kindly direct me to relevant pages if this has been discussed in the past.

Thank you.
