The gap between the APC and the PDP in the South-West this 2019 is likely to increase this year in fovor of APC.

This year , I am sensing more like 66% APC vs 33% PDP. 2 APC supporters to every 1 PDP supporter only sounds fair in the South West right now with the prevailing conditions on ground and the general sentiments i have observed.

Yes, even more. Do not forget that APC raked in about 2m fake votes due to manual voting in 2015. That is being checkemated in 2019

So you also don't think those figures from Delta, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Etc in 2015 were very likely doctored results aided by the PDP's power of incumbency>

And will all the other regions stay the same as in 2015?

A lot of water has passed under the bridge. In terms of Dynamics, much has changed since then.

Will PDP still be getting 91% in the SS vs APC's 8% like in that year? I highly doubt.

asuustrike1:

What LASG did was the best. Africans don't have a common language that binds the continent till date that is why we still rely on colonial language. No tribe is ready to shift ground for a major one to strive. French languages are spoken outside the shores of Africa. In Europe, French is the official language in Belgium, France, Luxembourg, Monaco and Switzerland. In North America we have Canada and Haita. In Africa we have more countries speaking it compare to English. West Africa alone has about 11 countries speaking it. Nigeria is surrounded by French speaking countries hence French was chosen by Lagos State Government. This language is learn side by side with English and Yoruba

All countries with neighboring regions adjoining FRANCE, Just as we also have trans-national African languages that cuts across borders.
I don't care about how any countries speak French in West Africa. All I care about is languages that have real international clout, and the promotion of African lingos.

More than 80% of Global business is conducted in English. English is the language of International Science, Aviation and Tech amongst many other international endeavours.... Spanish and German are still there to fill part of the remaining 20%, tell me where French which you seem to respect so much comes into the picture? The only relevance of french is brought about by the people speaking it in Africa, otherwise there is no difference between it and ordinary Italian or Dutch.

Also, how are there more French speaking people in Africa than English? Show the figures pls.

asuustrike1:

French is an international language and is spoken in many countries in the world. African language ends in Africa while French, English and other global language are used for trade and business. It is rare to trade in African language

Abeg French is not a True international language. Do not be deceived.
If the basis of your rebuttal on the non-viability of African languages is based on that fact that they are spoken just within Africa, then how many real countries of any significant global weight outside Africa speak French apart from France and adjoining regions?

It is rare to see trade being conducted in African languages because Africans have refused to elevate the status of their national languages, but keep blaming colonialism, even now that they have the freedom - LASG is still passing some stupid law about one moribund french language.

Don’t circumvent Ekiokpagha Treaty, family warns Benin Traditional Council

BENIN—THE Ogiamien family of Utantan, Benin, Edo State has warned the Benin Traditional Council, BTC, that any attempt to circumvent the Ekiokpagha treaty between the family and the Oba during the coronation rites of a new monarch, will bring an end to the reign of the current dynasty in the kingdom.

Meanwhile, the family has given a 14-day ultimatum to one of the Bini palace chiefs, Chief Osamede Adun, to withdraw the falsehood levelled against it that members of the Ogiamien family, who are the actual Bini aborigines, in which the chief said were slaves/strangers in the kingdom, or face legal action.

omonnakoda:

In gegraphy North is determined by latitude FULL STOP

Point A is more or less northern than point B based on latitude. That has ALWAYs been the case

So "can be considered" is NONSENSE. it is a matter of geographical fact what is more northern or more southern. It is not subject to debate or "consideration" rather a simple matter of geographical coordinates

It is a technical matter of factuality with regard to what is more northern geographically

The point about Kogi Kwara or benue is simple if you take time to comprehend.

It is that along with Oyo they are geographically in the south

It is a simple calculation

Mark the Northenmost point and southernmost points by way of latitude and divide by two with the latitude that runs through the middle .
There is no basis for your distance to sea mularkey in Geography

You are just getting your briefs up in a tight bunch over nothing, mind you, I won't hv even known about this thread but for the fact that you quoted me first. That being said, yes N or S is geography in the strictest, but unless you think everything in the world is painted in Black and White then you should probably give your previous ideas about "what should be considered what" a good rethink.

Greece is Considered a part of the "Western World", however it is geographically on the same longitude as Serbia which is considered nothing Western. Humans are the ones who define what is considered what, not some arbitrary point on a compass, because guess what..... Even the definition of what is North differs in Geography and the Magnetic North is different from the geodetic North. You seem to think North and South can simply be defined by dividing the geographical map of Nigeria by a ruler and labelling what falls where as such, forgetting other factors. Nigeria is not a plain shaped polygon or some 3D shaped multilateral. Look at the map, the borders are irregular. The Southernmost point of France is more southern than that of Croatia. Yet Croatia is considered Southern Europe, while France is not.

Once again, your bringing of Geography of North and South into a thread about voters' population per state is still puzzling. More puzzling is the fact that you get quoted on it (since you brought it up), and you then act like you have no idea what is being talked about.Besides, strictly speaking Oyo is in the SW and not just plain South, so what was your point exactly? ?

Better parameter of what exactly? What has distance to sea got to do with population in Oyo?
Sorry you are not making sense

The concept of North and south applies t countries in the geographical centre of AFrica like central African republic and Zambia

What has the location of Kogi, Kwara or Benue in relation to Oyo got to do with the population in each of them?
It was you who brought up locations in a thread talking about population figures.

I was just following up on your earlier post as per what could be considered northern or Southern in the Nigerian context.
Politics / Re: Lagos, Kano Maintain Lead In Number Of Voters, As Voters Hit 84,004,084 by scholes0(m): 1:43pm On Jan 08, 2019
omonnakoda:
The North may be SPARSELY populated but it is more than 4 times the size of the south

One thing a lot of people miss when they say "North" is that Kogi Benue Taraba kwara are all in the "North" but Oyo is in the "SOuth"

From a geographical perspective. Oyo is more in the North than Benue. The most Northern point of Oyo is at a higher latitude than than of Kogi.

Well, distance from the sea should be a better parameter in this instance, than altitude.
Benue may be at a similar latitude to oyo, but Oyo is closer to the coast. The length of land from Nigeria's coastline in the south towards the northern tip of al the southern states are relatively similar.
