Politics / Ondo 2024: Call For Stability And Enduring Credibility - BFA Urges Mimiko Not To by Scopeline: 6:34pm On Jul 10
Ondo 2024: Call for Stability And Enduring Credibility - BFA Urges Mimiko Not To Decamp Again

Amid circulating rumors that former Governor Olusegun Mimiko might consider joining the APC due to unresolved issues with his party's gubernatorial candidate, Comrade Babatunde Francis Alli, the candidate for the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), has made a respectful appeal for Mimiko to refrain from switching political parties again.

BFA emphasized the critical need for political stability in Ondo State and urged Mimiko to resist the temptation to change parties. "You do not need to join a political party before supporting its candidate," BFA stated.

BFA highlighted the detrimental impact of frequent party changes by seasoned politicians, noting that such actions undermine political integrity and disrupt the establishment of consistent leadership. He stressed the importance of having rallying points within the state to foster a stable political environment.

Expressing his respect for Mimiko, BFA made a heartfelt plea for the former governor to disregard any enticements to join the APC, which is no longer appeal to well-meaning Sunshiners and other Nigeroans. "I hold His Excellency, Olusegun Mimiko, in high regard despite any shortcomings. I earnestly appeal to him to resist any allure towards joining the APC. As the only former governor we have alive, his repeated party-switching would not honor the dignity of our state at this critical time in our political history," Alli stated.

BFA further addressed the broader implications of frequent political realignments, urging former officeholders to recognize their enduring importance in shaping the state's future governance. While younger generations of politicians may consider switching platforms due to ideological differences, veteran officeholders are expected to provide a rallying point for ideological stability.

He emphasized the significance of inclusivity and mentoring for the youth as core components of his political vision. "When former political leaders repeatedly switch parties, it hinders the necessary mentorship for our state's youth, undermining our political landscape and confusing the next generation about values and ideologies," BFA concluded.

Ondo 2024: Political Office Holders, Not Your Saviour but Servants - BFA Tells Masses

At a consultative meeting with the Sunshine Renaissance group, PRP candidate, Babatunde Francis Alli (BFA), has emphasized that political office holders are not saviors but servants of the people. He urged the masses to avoid looking up to politicians for handouts, as this mentality has led to a lack of accountability among leaders. BFA advised the people to avoid taking money from corrupt politicians, as it only perpetuates a cycle of corruption curse.

The meeting, which took place on Thursday was attended by Senatorial leaders of the Sunshine Renaissance group, who were impressed by BFA's manifesto and have promised their support. The group's spokesperson, who wished to remain anonymous for obvious political reasons, expressed his disappointment with the current state of affairs in Ondo State, saying, "We almost thought we would not be redeemed again in Ondo." He praised BFA's Campaign Mantra, saying, "Your campaign mantra said it all sir. We will not allow these people to 'jewa m'aye' (deceive us) again. Their money will fail in November 2024. Enough is enough."

The Sunshine Renaissance group pledged to mobilize Sunshiners across the state to support BFA's candidacy, promising an impending political tsunami in Ondo State. They expressed their confidence in BFA's ability to bring about positive change, saying, "We will have a new government in Ondo State on the platform of the PRP come February 2025, by the grace of God."

BFA presented his agenda to the group, outlining his plan to make the state economically viable through purposeful investment in agriculture. His presentation was received with admiration and applause from the meeting, while the group expressed their commitment to supporting his candidacy.

Politics / ONDO Lcdas: Court Pronouncement Has Validated My Assertion - BFA by Scopeline: 4:39pm On Jun 20
Ondo 2024: Court Pronouncement nullifying 33 illegal LCDA has validated my earlier assertion - BFA, PRP Governorship Candidate

… we haven’t seen governance in Ondo State in a long while, it’s been cheap, divisive politicking.

In reaction to questions from journalists today in Akure over the Manifesto of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), for the Ondo 2024 governorship election, release yesterday, Comrade Babatunde Francis Alli, the governorship candidate of the PRP, has stated that the nullification of the 33 illegal LCDA created by the APC led government in the State has validated his assertion, just yesterday, that the state has not seen governance since the APC took the reign of government in the state since 2017. “It's all been cheap, divisive politics” Alli stated.

It will be recalled that Alli, while presenting his manifesto to the state yesterday, 19th of July, 2024, on the commencement of open campaign by the INEC, stated that the state had not seen governance since the inception of the APC-led government but cheap, divisive politics.

APC government in 2023 created LCDAs which bill, the Late Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu purportedly accented to, “offshore”. Alli said, “only those who wanted to deceive themselves then, and the immediate beneficiaries of the ill-conceived move failed to see the danger in the hurriedly and selfishly passed bill by the ruling APC government in the state. “Even some communities, in protest, vowed to prevent their Children from contesting in the local government election being planned earlier before that policy summersault”. Alli added, “How can you legislatively create LCDAs out of LGAs when a timetable for a purported LGA Election was already running. Till today, the said election has not held underscoring the confusion these people are known for”.

Since they came onboard in 2017, it has been one anti-peoples’ move upon another ranging from: - running a government of the father by the wife and for the children, to shameful but violent attacks on parliamentary sessions, to unabated rifts between a disoriented governor and deputy, to purportedly winning the 2020 governorship election with less than 20% of the registered votes, to creating the lacuna called LCDAs, now dead, thanks to the court, to running the state by proxy; to fight over issues that is constitutionally unambiguous as to who succeeds a governor in the case of incapacitation, to congratulations! by someone who just lost his forerunner, to- nobody wants to be a one-year governor, to O'disorganized primary election of the party, to selfishly attempting to rub the South Senatorial District of its due 8 years, and to attempting to disorganize the political zoning arrangement of the state, to, only God knows what is next, if we let them.

”By now, this party should be tired of saying anything in the media space again. B'oju ba t'ole, s'oju o kii t'ara Ile e ni"? Alli queried, adding that people who once ran the government with them cannot jump to another political party today and be claiming to be saintly governorship candidates.

He called on Sunshiners to reject the “confusionists” called a political party both in its real or neo-appearances as being seen recently. “Take your collective destiny into your hands in the 2024 governorship election or suffer worse governmental ineptitude” Alli warned Sunshiners as he as usual, prayed; Won o ni jewa m'aye o.

Ondo 2024: APC Chieftain Lauds PRP Choice of Deputy Governorship Candidate, Manifesto, Drums Support for PRP

In a significant political development, Otunba Oyediran Afolabi, a prominent chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) from Akure, has publicly lauded the Peoples Redemption Party's (PRP) selection of their deputy governorship candidate.

During a courtesy call to the PRP on Monday, June 17, 2024, Afolabi met with the party's governorship candidate, Comrade Babatunde Francis Alli, the State Chairman Pst. Oladele Oluwasesan and other PRP leaders, which marks his second engagement with the party in just two weeks, reflecting the growing popularity of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) and her Candidate, Babatunde Francis Alli in Ondo State.

Key issues discussed during the meeting included the selection of the Akure-born deputy governorship candidate, which Afolabi praised as a strategic and inclusive choice. He emphasized the importance of recognizing and enhancing Akure's status as the state capital, suggesting that such a move would foster greater development and representation for the area.

Afolabi's endorsement of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) candidate and their manifesto highlights a shift in political dynamics, as influential figures from other parties show support for the PRP vision for Ondo State.

Another major point of discussion was also the anticipated benefits of the planned Community Development Associations (CDAs) at the ward level. Afolabi expressed optimism that these CDAs would significantly boost grassroots development and improve local governance.

Afolabi's support for the PRP for the Ondo 2024 governorship election underscores a growing trend of cross-party endorsements, reflecting a broader acceptance of the PRP policies and leadership. He encouraged citizens of Akure and Ondo State at large to rally behind Comrade Babatunde Francis Alli and the PRP, urging them to consider the long-term benefits of the party's proposed policies.

Nigerian Romanian Wood Industry limited (NIROWI) was a joint venture between the Federal Government of Nigeria, Beeb Holdings, the old Ondo State government, on the one hand,  Nigerian Industrial Bank, Nigerian Bank for Commerce and Industry, and FOREXIM of Romania on the other.

The wood company was established in 1974 by the then Western State government to be an integrated wood processing company and was strategically located where the source of major raw material, that is,  wood, was readily available.

The name NIROWI remains fresh in the minds of residents of Ondo town and its environs, as once upon a time, it was the largest provider and producer of quality wood for furniture in Ondo state, Southwest, and indeed Nigeria.

NIROWI, in its heyday, was known to be involved in the production of beautiful decorative items, used in homes and offices, and was second to none in terms of taste and quality.

The wood company was also known to be one of the greatest employers of labour among other industries and companies in the state at the time. In years past, the Ita-Ila area in Ondo town, Ondo State, where the company was situated, was a beehive of activities.  However, now, the whole area has become more or less, a ghost land and an abandoned multi-billionaire edifice.

Less than fifteen years after the company began operations, it went down the drain, a situation, which some experts in tree planting and environment, linked with the rise in the felling and burning of economic trees and deforestation in almost all forest reserves across the nation.

In its productive years, NIROWI was the pride of the people of Old Ondo State as it provided employment for the people of the state and impacted its immediate environment. Working in the company was a dream for many prospective young school leavers from the state and beyond.

NIROWI, situated in a large area of land of over 40 hectares abandoned over the years become the den of kidnappers, joints of ritualists and the center of illegal activities.

Recently, an innovator, Tope John, who is an indigene of Ondo town took a bold step to revitalize sections of NIROWI for plastic waste recycling.

According to Tope John, his company Topzy recycling company was initiated to combat environmental waste pollution and also create job opportunities, and he chose the NIROWI site in other to revitalize it and prompt investors back to Ondo state.
