Hi guys, i finally had my interview this week, everything went smoothly and successfully, my spousal visa already issued and ready for pickup at Dhl office.

Questions asked :

1. Who filed for you? My wife

2. How did you meet?

3. How many times has she visited since you got married?

4. When was the last time you saw her?

5. Has she been married before?

6. Have you been married?

7. How old are her children?

8. Do they live with her?

9. Have you travelled outside Nigeria before?

10. Let me see Tax return document .... Ohhh i dont think you have it, go get it and upload it, , and also submit it with your passport at Dhl office, by doing so i will close your case.
NB: Guys, i left the premises with smiles cos i knew my Visa iss already here, waited for my wife to wake so that she can send the correct Tax return. Perhaps, i went to dhl office to submit the tax docs and my passport that same day, in 2 days time my status started showing AP, in less than 12hrs, it shhowed Visa issued, in less than 2 hrs, i recieved email that my passport is ready for Pickup at Dhl office. That's it guys. Let God take all the glory, after a long wait and delays, the outcome was successful and cheering😊.

You can ask questions if you want, i will also give some hints with regards to pattern fquestions the COs were asking different applicants. Make sure you frontload your file with enough evidence to prove your marriage is real. Pls, mind how you tell the CO that you met your spouse via faceboook or social media, they twnd to drill the applicant with cocky questions , just be mindful on how you answer your questions, it will either make your interview short and brief or tedious and lengthy. Hi everyone, i want to let us know some people are still getting interview dates after a long wait. My friend was given an interview date this week, he waited for a very long time, he was scared if they have dropped his case without his knowledge. Pls guys, if you have been waiting for your appointment endlessly, be assured you will definitely get it, I got my appointment too. The NVC guys are faster now, I guess the backlog is reducing drastically. There is still hope, you might go to sleep tonight and wakeup next week Monday with the cheerings news via your email.

My observation, few persons that recently got their. cR1 Visas from another group (Visajourney), lamented the consulars are no more strict the way they used to be last or few days ago, but the thing is this, you have to make sure your required documents are complete and intact without anyone misssing, with that, your interview will be very easy and short. Pls, always check on your submitted documents via your case, make sure nothing is missing, though they will email you few weeks to your interview about uploading requuired documents, make sure your Police report isnt more than 2 years prior to your interview and make sure you do your medicals on time.

SUMMARY : More interview dates are being released, some people on a long waiting queue recently got their appointments.
Make sure your required documents are complete and updated to avoid appointment cancellation that could lead to reschedule.

CR1 Visa approval rates are high, you will be refused temporarily if you do not meet up with their requirements, you will be placed on an Administrative Processsing if you fail to do so unless you go get the complete documents. Pls make sure your documents are up to date.

In all , be prayerful, confident and don't allow your previous Visa denials make you lose focus.

Hi everyone, update on my journey so far. My original interview date was Scheduled last month, just few days to my interview , LagosIV Ceac sent me email about rescheduling of my. Appointment due to incomplete documents. However, email was sent to me about uploading incomplete documents and I did upload/the documents (Tax Return and passport data page) that same day, I was surprised to receive another email from them that I have to reschedule for another appoinntment lol, me and my wife were mad cos she was with me waiting for my interview.

Furthermore, I insisted on going for my original interview, it was slated for 6.30am, I was there, queued up waiting to be ushered in, mind you they have everybody's names slated for interview in their list, my name was there but they marked it with red pen, meaning I cant be interviewed on that day due to incomplete documents on which I uploaded already o. I met with the CGI people, they told me me LagosIV will give me new date , meanwhile what was stated on the email is that I should look for a date by myself, if I don't see any i should keep on checking until date is available. Guys, at the moment, I'm still searching for a new date or waiting for them to send a new date to me, moreso my case file is showing 'READY' , so it don't have anything with NVC anymore, LagosIV is the one delayiing me. Another thing , the documents i was told to upload on their website is still showing 'SUBMITTED' after uploading it, meanwhile the old ones i submitted are showing 'ACCEPTED'.

My question is this, for the uploaded documents to be showing ' SUBMITTED'' , does it mean they havent reviewed it yet hence they've not given me fresh date??

LESSON TO EVERYONE :

Please, while waiting for your interview date, make sure all your documents are updated on their website.

If you renewed your passport after submiting the old one with them, please make sure you upload the current data page on their website ( I forgot to do that).

If you do your medical screening at Qlife or any designated clinic , please make sure they send your medical report to the embassy before your interview ( Some people were told to reschedule because of their medical report not sent to the embassy earlier). Same goes to Police Report.

Conclusion:

They have changed their policy, if your documents are not complete prior to your interview, they will ask you to reschedule your appointment. Please, make sure all your documents are intact to avoid what I am facing currently. No shaking guys, I am still hopeful my new date will be given to me as soon as possible, I don tire for naija lol. Remember i waited for almost 2 years before they sent my inital interview appointment.

Well, he didn't asked for additional documents except those I submitted. But I will advise you carry as many proof as u can which includes Ur wedding album and Ur child naming pictures too. I wish u success in your upcoming interview. There is nothing to be afraid of.

@VicMax Did you show the consular your family pictures? How is the acceptance rate from US consulars to other CR1 applicants when you went for your interview. My interview will be coming later this month and I also have a 1yr plus son, his CRBA interview will come some days before my own CR1 interview. I cant wait to get my Visa by God's special grace.

Still waiting for my interview date since last year, I read in the news that some US embassies in different countries are gradually op3ning for CR1 interviews, Nigeria is still limited for now, we hope before the end of this year they will start giv8ng us dates. It's been a long wait meeen. I hope when they resume the interview session will be brief and smooth or a kind of waiver for some of us that have been waiting for more than a year . Naija don tire me, I cant wait to join my wife.

Thanks bro, actually i submitted all the documents required and up to date, we sent pictures, chat logs, video calls etc. I guess the problem started from how we met and blah blah, using his psychology and how he was trained, maybe he thought my story wasn't sound enough but in reality everything is real. You know every case differs and circumstances can decide how your relationship will pick up, most of all these COs don't understand this though I know they are doing what they were trained for and coupled with the fact Nigeria is a high fraud risk country when it comes to immigration , i totally understand with them ..... Remember, he didn't check the documents I came with. How Kong does CR1 take? Do they deny people on CR1 too? The while thing is son frustrating .

OK guys, i have been following up this thread for some time before I went for my interview yesterday being 13th Sept.

Actually my K1 visa was refused, but no slip was given to me, i don't know what it means, it is only my passport that was given back to me, the CO said he will write to uscic or fiancee and blah blah , that was all.

INTERVIEW WENT THIS WAY ;

After swearing an oath, CO asked...

Who is petitioned for me?

How did we meet?

Who is the mutual friend to her?

Who is the mutual friend to me?

When was the first time i met with my fiancee?

When did we start communicating?

Issue rose up when i told him how we started dating and communicating, he felt maybe my story was mumbo jumbo but it was real, upon I told him she has visilted Naija and blah blah, he told me my story wasn't making sense to him, he also asked if she was divorced, I told him 2 times , he requested for the certificate which I told him I have only 1 with me here but the other 1 divorce certificate was sent by my fiancee via USCIS, i gave him the one i had with me, the he returned it to me...He also asked the first time she came to US and how did she immigrate which I told him, as the interview was going on he was typing something on the system for long....Eventually, he told me that he isn't convinced if I have a bonafide relationship with my fiancee, that he will be refusing me K1 visa but he will write to either my fiancee or USCiS people, i can't remember which one again. He returned my passport, though he didn't check my proofs (call logs, chats and photographs) and he didn't give me any blue or white paper.

I am confused guys, does it mean my K1 visa was outrightly denied though he said "refused"....

Does it mean my case might go under Administrative processing or should i wait on what message they will send to my petitioner so that we can know our fate.

What is paining me right now, everything about me and my fiancee is genuine and legitimate..no fraud or fake thing, and we have waited for so long, invested a lot of energy, money , time and other resources, we were just waiting to hear the good news from CO but dude was kinda brutal, he denied almost half of K1 applicants that came for interview that day..we were 12 though but 4 people were denied before i left there, though some people were given or approved.

PS: Before you go for your K1 interview, make sure you know every detail about your relationship and your fiance/fiancee.
Be bold and confident, be consistent with what you are telling the CO...prepare your story well, don't allow any loophole or any form of discrepancy.

Pls guys, with your experience or anybody working with US embassy or CO, do i have hope in this matter? If eventually it doesn't work out, what's the time duration for CR1 category? How long does it take? Is there any way I can fastrack it. I am tired of staying along in Naija, I can't wait to join my woman, this is not issue of leaving naija for greener pasture, God has been faithful to me in naija too but there is nothing like staying close with the love of your life, this can be so frustrating.

I hope one or two Nairlanders will learn from my experience. I wish all the guys going for their K1 interview or preparing for it all the best of luck.
