Thanks all, for giving out your time and knowledge.

Pls, I am presently a student in another province but received NOI from ontario and I'm asked to provide document of status issued by IRCC, either work or study permit.

I want to know if declaring that I am a student in another province can affect my application and if not, I need help with LOE to buttress my intention to reside there.

Hello everyone, thank you for your contributions that I have found helpful and has had me glued from page 1. I have a bit of concern because someone said that OINP has changed a bit and it would be best to ask someone that has just recently used that route, hence my questions below - I recently got a NOI from ontario and I am not sure how to go about completing the application. For my profile, I only put my work experience as a nurse aide which lasted about a year sometime in 2019. Meanwhile, I currently work as an accountant for a company but this wasn’t stated in my EE profile .
-for the resume that says we should list all current and past work experiences, am I including my current job as an accountant or leaving that out?
-for the work history that also says to list all paid work experiences in the last 10 years starting with the most recent job, am I putting the other jobs I did after the nurse aide and my current job or do I stick with the nurse aide job only for which I was invited?
-for the intention to reside in ontario- (it says to state all established ties in ontario), I don’t have a job offer neither do I have any relatives. How else can I state that I intend to reside in ontario?
-what goes in the “other activities” section?
I would be truly grateful if my questions are answered. I also do not mind getting the link to join the telegram group. Thank you 🙏🏽

Not sure how to advise for your first question. But for the second, you do not need any family ties. You can get tips on how to write a letter of intent online. Just Google it or use Chatgpt to draft one and edit.

in addition, please keep your application as simple as possible. Don't add anything you do not have an explanation to.

Cheers!

Hi good afternoon

Please can you share some insights about proving intention to reside in ontario?
Also, is there a whatsapp or telegram group for those who have OINP?

Thank you.

I don't have any friends or relatives there so I just wrote an essay about why I think ontario is better suited for me than other provinces.

Hi all,
I got an EOI from ontario and I am trying to complete the application.
For this part: *intention to reside in ontario* , must I state that I have a close relative or a friend who resides in ontario?

Secondly, I have about 4 years exp in HR (from different employers and different specialization within HR) and the duties of my current role is more of is more NOC 1121 (and this is the current NOC onnmy EE profile) while my previous experiences are more of NOC 1223 - Will this be a problem.

P.S I have been in my current job for close to 2 years.
I assume you should be fine as long as you have up to 1 year experience in the primary noc, at least that's normal EE standard. ontario would tell you on their website if they want otherwise. Btw, what's your crs score , how are y'all getting this EOI na.

Thank you Phabbs. Please i am applying as spouse unaccompanying. Do i still need to fill in spouse ielts and ecawhen filling the OINP application?
Phabbs:
Since you have gotten NOI. ontario's intention to reside is basically to show you have some ties in ontario. in my case, I used a former colleague who is also a friend. My letter of intent expressed how the person is my former colleague and friend, how they will be helping me settle in socially and using their established connection to find work when I get there. I then submitted their PR card details. (I got nominated)

ontario pick from EE(pool) and EE only accept siblings and parents and not friend. So if you don't have any of this just leave it and if your score is good( last minimum draw score was 460) they will likely send you NOI to apply and pay 1500CAD in as much your discipline falls at range of IT etc. That's all I know

Some of the important things you should get done as a newcomer in your first week after landing

David S. Lesperance

Step 1: Make a list of your personal effects which you will a) be flying with; b) be shipping by container. For immigration (deals with the person) purposes you are an individual who is accepting Canada’s offer to permanently reside in Canada. For customs (deals with goods) purposes, you are a new resident of Canada. Since it is your intention to reside in Canada for more than 12 months, you will be entitled to bring in personal effects free of duty. to speed up the process, I would highly recommend that you pre-fill B4E form.

Step 2: Book and board a flight to Canada

Step 3: On arrival at the Customs hall, you will stand in the Visitor line. Like everyone on the plane you will fill in E-311 form. When you get to the front of the line, you will then meet a human official of Canada Border Services who is working at the Primary Inspection Line. Hand the officer your Canadian permanent residence paperwork, passport and E-311 Form. Indicate to the officer that you are moving to Canada for the first time and that you have some personal effects in your luggage and some that will be shipped later. The official will first refer you to the Secondary Immigration Inspection Area. They will do this by making an annotation on your E-311.

After you walk away from this first officer, a second officer will look at your E-311, note the annotation and direct you to Immigration Secondary. There you will line up to meet an initial officer, who will read your E-311 and ask for your passport and permanent residence paperwork. If secondary is busy you will be asked to sit and wait for someone to call your name. Once you meet with the processing officer in immigration secondary, they will “land” you, which is the administrative process of becoming a permanent resident. They will also take your photo for the Permanent Resident Card which will be created later. This card will be mailed to you in about 6 weeks. If you do not have a Canadian mailing address at the time of landing, you will need to provide one online later. They will then release you to retrieve your baggage.
After you recover your luggage but before you leave the secured area, another officer will look at your E-311 form and refer you to Customs Secondary. At secondary, they will review your pre-filled B4E form. They may or may not also check your luggage to determine if a) any contraband or b) confirm the items listed on your B4E as accompanying.
Once you are finished with secondary, you will then be directed out of the secured area and into the airport proper. IOW: Canada!

Step 4: Ship your goods: Assuming that you will send a container with some personal effects, then you will need to deal with this customs documentation. Depending on your port of arrival and where you are shipping the goods, you will need to ‘clear these goods’ on arrival by following the instructions given either by your shipper or the Customs Secondary Officer.

Step 5. After arrival secure basic new Canadian documentation: It varies from province to province but I will give you the example of the province of ontario.

a) Social Insurance Number: This is the basic Federal taxpayer identification number and can be obtained on-line or at an office. Note: When Canadians talk about a “SIN card”, they are referring to this document, not a scorecard of spiritual transgressions.

b) Provincial health insurance: You are entitled to national health coverage, which is administered by each province. Here is the process for ontario Health Insurance (OHIP). Note that there is a 3 month waiting period for new residents of ontario before coverage starts so make sure you continue your current insurance or obtain travel insurance to cover this three month period;

c) Driver’s Licence: This is a bit more complicated depending on whether you are coming from one of the countries which has automatic transfer rights with ontario. Read this information carefully and secure the proper records before leaving for Canada;

d) Bank Accounts and Credit Cards: As a new resident of Canada, you will have no banking history or credit rating. Therefore I would highly recommend that you open an account with HSBC and obtain a credit card from them. You will then have a) a debit and credit card that you can use in Canada without incurring heavy wire transfer fees; and b) an opening for a relationship with a Canadian Bank that will make it easier for you to open a Canadian bank account and credit card as HSBC Canada will work with HSBC . You can later choose another Canadian bank, but this is a great starting point.

Hi @Sthill5. Can you pls confirm that with a link.
I actually searched for it, but couldn't find where ontario immigration expatiated on "family ties" even in their application guides.

Under OINP EE, ontario also has social connections or personal relationships under "intention to reside in ontario". Check the application guide pdf in this link: http://www.ontarioimmigration.ca/en/pnp/OI_PNP_EE_CAPITAL.html
However, I think as in all things Canada, you must be able to demonstrate with verifiable evidence a genuine relationship/interaction with him.

Dear all, happy new year and congrats to all those approved, to those delayed, re-strategize and re-fire.
Your input(s) on this will be much appreciated.
So I have this family friend who is a permanent resident in Canada and resides in Toronto, ontario. He was home for the Christmas and new year break and asked me to come to Toronto to stay with him immediately after my service year, ending this April/May, while I wait for school to start in September.

The problem now is how do I avoid issues at the point of entry? Because my school is located in Prince Edward Island and not ontario. I believe the officer at the point of entry will request to see my connecting flight ticket to where my school is located.

Will it be an issue if I have the ticket to show but for a later date, say last week in August and I let the officer know my intention is to reside with my family friend in Toronto, and Fly to Prince Edward Island later or I jejely stay back in Nigeria doing nothing till August and fly to Prince Edward Island.

PS: I got my visa approved November last year, for a program starting September this year.

Thank you for your input in advance.

HELLO, i would advise two options:
1) you could apply for a visiting visa, i heard it doesnt take too long and seeing you have a trv, the visiting visa may not take time. OR
2)just chill till july and fly straight to prince edward island, after immigration checks, you can use local flight and travel to toronto till school resumes, you wont go through immigration checks twice.
if they ask why you came early, you could simply tell them you want to settle in, prep for school and get use to their weather grin, besides your uncle will help you understand canada before you start school.

Just write a short note about whatever it is that attracts you to ontario. I simply wrote that I the environment Will help me thrive career wise, good place for kids to grow ,nice schools etc. Nothing special. Just write something.
Some people don't think it's necessary to write an intention to reside but for me I believe it's better safe than sorry. Didn't want to leave anything to chance

@ Mire222 or any one with ontario nominee experience

Under the Human Capital Priorities Stream for ontario Immigrant Nominee Program, how can someone show intention to reside in ontario in the application and not having ties ontario.
Or it's not applicable to some people.

After getting NOI the next step is to create a ONe-Key login details. The usual username and password stuff. Follow this link
www.one-key.gov.on.ca

After signing up for the ONe-Key and you have got your username and password, it will take you to the application page. But in case the link broke down because right now there is high traffic in the website, you can always click on the link below to apply online.

http://www.ontarioimmigration.ca/en/pnp/OI_PNP_EE_CAPITAL_APPLY.html

I will also suggest you download the guide that spells out all the details and the required documentation. Follow the link on the application page to download the guide.

All the best.

If you are able to download the NOI letter please share so that we also follow suit.

Thanks! I downloaded the guide this morning and I have been familiarising myself with it. I will let you if once I am able to download the NOI from her EE profile (please let me know when you are successful with the download too). cheers.

One question - how can she prove her "intention to reside in ontario"? This is on page 7 (section 2.1.5 of the guide). I think the closest to her circumstance is "personal connections" e.g. friends. will this suffice?
