Romance / Picture In A Frame by dk58(m): 10:13am On May 05, 2023
There’s a picture in a frame
It’s my All-Star Hall of Fame
The picture reflects my past and present;
An inner sanctuary for my soul

That picture in a frame is you;
The centre of everything I do
Your strength makes me feel anew
Like the morning dew in summertime.

You’re amazing in a frame,
My eternal sparks of flame,
You blaze through me day and night
To keep these smiles from fading.

From the frame, I wade through life
With inspiration so divine
I don’t dream of fulfilling destiny
Since I found happiness in you.

Your hug is the strongest support,
Your warmth an assuring comfort
To my yielding body, soul, and spirit
Why do I obsess and overthink?

Your picture taught me how to smile
At life’s trite, beguiling surprise
But hanging you on the wall could be wrong;
If familiarity breeds contempt.

My life, my world, now a hearse
Where beloved ones submerse
Gently interred deep into this fain heart,
An earthly castle for immortals.

Politics / Anyianyi Cultural Association Charges FG On Free, Fair Election by chuxxjr: 3:23pm On Feb 24, 2023
AnyiAnyi Cultural Association charges FG on free, fair election

As the presidential and gubernatorial election is in top gear, a non-profit organisation, AnyiAnyi Cultural Association, has charged the federal government to ensure free and fair elections.

The group noted this in a statement made available to the press through its National Executive Council in Enugu from Monday, February 13 to Tuesday, 14, to deliberate on the nation's state, especially the 2023 national elections.

While commending the government on its efforts for a credible outcome of the forthcoming election, the group hoped that the commitment would be sustained in the interest of "Our electoral democracy and to honour the collective will of the people".

The group, however, urged the federal government to create an enabling environment for a free and fair election.

"Freedom for political prisoners easily comes to mind, especially those whose cases have been adjudicated by the courts. This will go a long way to ensure peace in the southeast region of Nigeria," the statement read in part.

The AnyiAnyi Cultural group appealed to security agencies to see their responsibilities as an opportunity for a new Nigeria, considering the nation's current state.

As noted in the statement, the group urged the Independent National Electoral Committee (INEC) to approach this assignment with renewed vigour.

It added, "INEC should ensure freedom for about 200 million Nigerians who have been victims of high-level politicking by the authorities of power and status quo.

"We also appeal to the electorate to see this election as a battle between freedom and corruption."

The group also reminded the youths, "Who is waiting for instructions to unleash mayhem on innocent voters, that one who kills his brother will never be a warrior and one who betrays his brother will never be trusted by the man who sent him. The proceeds or monetary reward for instigating violence can destroy the beneficiary".

Nigerians should promote competence and relegate ethnicity with political affiliation using the 2023 elections in the interest of economic stability in the Country. This becomes achievable if Nigerians can emulate Ndigbo, who had never given a block vote to any of their own since the era of democracy in 1999, even when theirs constantly featured on the ballot; this they have continuously done for their belief in the best candidate.

Therefore, looking at the antecedents, manifesto, genealogy and personality of the candidates, it becomes clear who the best candidate is only if we are people of conscience, equity and fairness.

"We appeal to Christians and Muslims who stand by the truth to behold the Star, which could have risen from any direction.

"We discovered that while governors leave the office to enjoy their fat and unbelievable retirement benefits forever, this man ruled his State in this Country Nigeria, but refused even a dime from his State as pension till today."

"He is so passionate to see Nigeria rise again for no personal gain; he wants us to accept him, not because of his origin, but based on his competence, which is clear to all. If our national problems did not know religion, ethnicity or political differences, why trace the solution along the same lines?"

"The man has no structure, but the commoner immediately volunteered to be the structure. He has not assumed office yet but has changed the age-long practice of electoral democracy in Nigeria.

"And that man is Mr Peter Gregory Obi. He has the integrity, capacity and competence to lead Nigeria!"

As a sequel to this, the AnyiAnyi Cultural Group, therefore, called on Nigerians to hit the polling units en-masse to vote for Peter Obi/Datti Ahmed. This is the best opportunity for Nigeria to rise again.

"It is important to note; while other candidates rely so much on their structures and economy to wrestle power as usual, the movement we are witnessing is nothing but a divine mandate," the group emphasised.

This communique was signed by Barr. Anthony O. Okolo, National President; Nze Johnpaul Ezenwaka, National Vice President; Asomugha Johnpaul, Secretary General; and Mrs Nneka chimezie, National Woman Leader.

Stop ranting and stop insulting yourself. I saw your complain and i checked the screenshot u sent and ran both names on Nairaland and yours showed up on scammers list and i didn't even conclude, i only came to ask why your name is on the list. If u were matured, u will give a simple answer. But the way u have answered, speaks alot about you. So let me just start ignoring your reply from now on. Don't bother quoting me back cos u don't deserve a decent conversation. For your information, u shud really keep an eye on me because i don't do these transactions u do here. Goodluck

I really pity you and your kind. This time you spend looking for who to scam, try putting it in something worthwhile, it will really benefit you, your family and unborn children.
You saw my name on list of scammers, are you even normal at all? I'm complaining I was duped by your kind and you quickly rushed to look up my name. Shows a lot where your mind is, always looking to defend your kind, thief.
You then had the effrontery to come here and tag me with someone else that bears divine chimezie, you see that sense is far from you?

Are you mad? Or you just decided to be annoyingly abnormal this morning. Do you listen to your self before you talk? Uh oh,just looked up your account, alternate, you just exposed this one. Well, it's under my watch now.

Jilux the thief scammed me of 30k on the 25th this month.

Lende is a criminal in disguise. I'm sure he's the same person, came with exactly the same format. He has PayPal funds, wants you to send money first. I called his scamming ass out and he took down all the post he made wherein I called him out. He now goes to other people's thread to advertise his non existent wares. Please close the accounts before it's used to trick another person.

As the kick-off date of The Future Awards Africa's (TFAA) first-ever 3-day digital festival draws near, the Central Working Committee has announced this year's nominees for all the twenty award categories. The Awards will be celebrating, per tradition, the achievements of young Africans who have excelled brilliantly in the past year.

Among the list of astonishing young people to join an already formidable class of TFAA alumni are comedian and actor, Debo' Mr Macaroni' Adedayo; poet Romeo Oriogun; creative director and fashion designer, King David; actress, Jemima Osunde, CEO and founder of Patricia Technologies Limited, Fejiro Hanu Aigbodje, and musician Rema.

The nominees were unveiled in a special broadcast on Channels TV and Pop Central hosted by Ghana's Dela Michel and Nigeria's Tomike Adeoye.
Speaking on the nominations, Chief Operating Officer, RED| For Africa, Bukonla Adebakin said, "This year's nominated list of extraordinary and impressive young people from across Africa cuts across various fields and institutions. Even in a turbulent for many nations, they persisted and achieved incredible feats through determination, empathy, hard work, determination and creativity".

"From movies to music, governance and fashion, these categories encompass the youngest and brightest minds on the continent who have inspired us all, impacted policies and politics, and are positively bending the course of our societies. It is with such immense hope in the future of our content and recognition of nominees' achievements that we unveil the class of 2020", she said.
The Future Festival will hold as a TV & Digital Festival from 27 - 29 November 2020, while The Future Awards Africa will broadcast on 28 November on Africa Magic, MTV Base and Pop Central.

In recognition of the remarkable progress recorded in the fight against sexual and gender-based violence this year, The Future Awards Africa will also donate 25 per cent of profits accrued this year to NGOs working to end sexual and gender-based violence in Nigeria.

The Future Awards Africa presents The Future Festival in partnership with Y! Africa. Media partners are Africa Magic, MTV Base, POP Central TV, Cool FM, Nigeria Info, BellaNaija.com and YNaija.com.
A one-week window is open to the public for any complains as regards the category nominees. All inquiries should be directed to info@thefutureafrica.com.

Romance / How God Saved Me From Being Lynched To Death by chinenye497: 11:25am On Nov 08, 2020
Ole!!! Ole!!! Thief!!! Thief!!! Put tyre round his neck and burn him alive. Suddenly, I saw people running towards the direction where they were shouting ole!!! I tried to ask a couple of persons, but they ignored me. So out of curiosity, I went there to see for myself.

At first, I could not recognize him. Because his face was covered with blood. But when I looked closely, I almost fainted. He was my neighbor’s son chimezie.

This is not happening. I could not even get close to find out what happened. I have lived in the same compound with chimezie and his family for over five years, and he has not stolen a pin before. Why now? Something is wrong somewhere.

At that point, I knew I needed to do something to save the poor boy. But what do I do? Calling his father will not solve the problem because the man had gone to his shop. And by the time he gets here, they would have killed the boy.

The spirit of God told me to start praying. Immediately I started praying and speaking in tongues silently. Just then, I saw a military van passing. I ran towards them and started flagging them to stop. I cannot say what gave me the courage, but at that point, I didn’t care anymore. Someone’s life was in danger. Not just anybody a good person.

Unlike most military men, to my surprise, they stopped. To be sincere, I wasn’t expecting them to, but they did. Immediately I fell on my knees and started crying. Their oga kpata kpata came down and asked me to stand up and tell him why I stopped them. I narrated everything to him. He asked me to enter their van and asked the driver to turn

PRESS BRIEFING BY CP CHRIS O. EZIKE, COMMISSIONER OF POLICE, IMO STATE COMMAND ON MONDAY 30TH OCTOBER 2017 AT COMMAND HEADQUARTERS, OWERRI IMO STATE.

Gentlemen of the Press,

You may recall that on the 7th and 11th of September 2017 respectively, I addressed you on the occasion of parade of suspects who kidnapped and murdered Late Rev Fr Cyriacus Onunkwo and the Commendation/award ceremony of Police personnel who arrested the suspects and successfully investigated the case. Since these two press briefings, we have continued to make tremendous progress in the fight against crime and criminality in Imo State. The peace and tranquility we have witnessed in the past two months can only be attributed to the high profile arrests and recoveries the Command has made within the period under review. As we approach the two critical months of November and December the Command shall do the following;

(i) Continue the all out offensive against criminals through intelligence led raids, cordon and search, diligent investigation of arrested suspects and successful prosecution of cases.
(ii) We shall also continue to be more visible at black spots, strategic junctions, public places and commercial centres.
(iii) The guard of banks/financial houses shall also be our top priority.
(iv) We shall also pay special attention to general and specific security of Imolities from the Diaspora who have returned home to enjoy the yuletide.
2. Today, we shall be show-casing our modest efforts in restoring peace, law and order in Assa, Obile, Awara and other neighboring communities in Ohaji/Egbema LGA of Imo State. The worrisome incidence of cultism, brigandage, kidnapping and general Youth restiveness associated with armed robbery and unprecedented violence forced these Communities to flee for their dear lives in the last 20 months. In our efforts to curb violence, stop the killings, restore law and order, arrest the perpetrators of the dastardly act, show, shame and prosecute them, the Command in conjunction with the Military has made several arrests and recovered exhibits. A stabilization team of both Police and the Military have taken absolute charge and the cultists are being given a run for their money. Some pictorial evidence available to the investigating team revealed gory escapades of these sons and daughters of devil and how their mindless and inhuman but avoidable activities sent humanity to their early graves. We are determined to ensure that cultists are not allowed a field day anymore.

3. We shall also reveal some other achievements in anti-robbery, anti-kidnapping and anti-human trafficking operations. These operations are presently ongoing and shall continue till the end of January, 2018.

Crime / Imo Police Command Parades Cultists, Armed Robbers And Kidnappers(photos) by kirajustice: 11:15am On Nov 01, 2017
PRESS BRIEFING BY CP CHRIS O. EZIKE, COMMISSIONER OF POLICE, IMO STATE COMMAND ON MONDAY 30TH OCTOBER 2017 AT COMMAND HEADQUARTERS, OWERRI IMO STATE.

Gentlemen of the Press,

You may recall that on the 7th and 11th of September 2017 respectively, I addressed you on the occasion of parade of suspects who kidnapped and murdered Late Rev Fr Cyriacus Onunkwo and the Commendation/award ceremony of Police personnel who arrested the suspects and successfully investigated the case. Since these two press briefings, we have continued to make tremendous progress in the fight against crime and criminality in Imo State. The peace and tranquility we have witnessed in the past two months can only be attributed to the high profile arrests and recoveries the Command has made within the period under review. As we approach the two critical months of November and December the Command shall do the following;

4. The Command shall also be taking part in Anambra State elections with the deployment of about 600 personnel. This is not only in compliance with the directive of the Inspector General of Police but in keeping with the policy of joint and collaborative efforts to achieve greater results.

On the 29th day of August 2017, Oluchi Chibike ‘f’ the cousin to Abigail Ukah ‘f’ came to Uzoagba in Ikeduru LGA, in company of one Obinna Eze ‘m’ whom Oluchi Chibiko told the victim Abigail Ukah, was her intended husband. Their mission was to take her Abigail with her two children Francis Nwachukwu 5years old and Chimazaekpere Nwachukwu 2years old to visit Obinna’s house at Afara Mbaitoli L.G.A. Obinna thereafter carried them on his motorcycle at about 12pm to his house.

At about 6pm unknow to the victim that Obinna and Oluchi have concluded plans to attack her and take away her children, Obinna and Oluchi hired one Vitalis Lumanze and Chinatu AKA “Salasco” whom they paid the sum of One hundred and sixty thousand naira (N160,000) to attack her on their way back to Uzoagba Ikeduru. At about 1900hrs of same date along Amankuta Mbieri a lonely bush path, the two hired men emerged armed with matchet and torch Light, attacked the victim gave her several matchet cuts all over her body, dragged her and dumped her inside the bush believing that she has died while Obinna and Oluchi carried the two Children back to Obinna’s house at Afara Mbaitoli were they slept. In the morning of 30th August 2017, Oluchi and Obinna took the two children to Enugu State and sold them to one Mrs Nkiru Nwanedu ‘f’ of Egwedi Njaba LGA at the cost of One Million one hundred thousand Naria (N1, 100,000) but paid them the sum of seven hundred thousand naira (N700,000) promising to pay the balance on a later date. It is worthy of note that Obinna Eze and Nkiru Nwanedu are Ex-convicts in a similar case and both came to know each other while they were at Okigwe prisons. The syndicate has been smashed remaining only Chinatu A.K.A Salasco who is still at large.

15. SPECIAL DUTIES
In the past weeks, Imo State has had the privilege of hosting the Ghanaian and South African Presidents. In addition, the Vice President of Nigeria Professor Yemi Osinbajo SAN, GCON also visited Imo State. Furthermore the Common Wealth Parliamentary Union, Africa Region hosted their Conference in Owerri for about one week. This is not forgetting the galaxy and array of dignitaries that grace the activities that marked the Birthday of His Excellency Owelle Rochas Anayo Okorocha OON.

I thought as a law enforcement official we shall not take for granted that these ceremonies were successfully completed without any security breach or incident. I wish to commend all officers and men of the Command for living up to expectation. Also the synergy between the Police and other security Agencies is further exemplified by the successes recorded at these events.

16. REWARD FOR HARD WORK
The last seven months have been challenging but tremendous successes and breakthroughs have been recorded by the Command and the Communities are happier for it. We are grateful to
(i) The Rt. Hon Speaker of Imo State House of Assembly and indeed all the Honourable members for finding us worthy of honour and commendation on 19th September, 2017.

(ii) The Anambra State Council of the Nigerian Union of Journalists for finding CP Chris Okey Ezike worthy of honour as the Winner of NUJ 2017 Annual Excellence Service Award conferred on 13th October, 2017.

(iii) The Security Watch Africa team for the nomination of the Commissioner of Police CP Chris Ezike, the Imo State Police Command, the Officer incharge Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SP Victor Godfrey Ogbeide, the Command Police Public Relations Officer SP Andrew Enweren worthy of nomination for Regional Awards/Honours slated for Kigali in Rwanda come 12th December, 2017.

17. CONCLUSION
In conclusion, I wish to thank the Officers and men of Imo State Command for their hard work, dedication and commitment to duty. The remaining part of 2017 may be challenging but with determination we shall conquer. I appreciate all Imolities for their whistle blowing capabilities. The love and appreciation they have shown for the good jobs we have done excites the Command. And for also tolerating our occasional excesses, you remain our best. I wish to thank our Ezes and the Presidents of the Town Unions for their Community partnership disposition. I implore them to step up their games by re-engineering the Neighourhood and Community Vilgitante machineries as an added impetus to complement Police efforts. To my brothers and sisters in the media, your enthusiasm, commendable reportage and necessary criticisms of our works and activities can only be the reason why we are doing well. To all of us, stay out of trouble and be law abiding.
