Family / Domestic Violence And Relationship Abuse: Bad Economy Partly Responsible-part 4 by Secretary2: 4:29pm On May 04, 2022
Lets say the obvious; bad economy, economic crunch, economic depression, economic recession, economic doom, - whatever name we call it has been with us in Nigeria for years and we are still living in what we regard as a precarious economy.
The downturn times in our economy have contributed in no small measure to the fall of our country’s marital life. If you permit me, at the Centre for Marital Affairs (CMA) in collaboration with House of God Fellowship Church (HGF), we have classified marriages into nine (9) distinct categories, namely;
1. wife or husband of a business manager, business director, civil servant or politician – these are top level wives and top level husbands
2. wife or husband of a very busy man or woman entrepreneurs in business or in trade
3. a complete housewife who depends totally on her husband for everything
4. a working class housewife or husband who gets up early in the morning, go to work, and return in the evening
5. a housewife running a business of her own and her husband is working
6. a husband and wife managing business together or trading in business together
7. a wife of a jobless husband
8. a wife who is a student and her husband is working
9. single mother wife

Each of these classifications has its own unique characteristics and impact. When there is marital violence and relationship abuse, one marriage category or the other suffers most, even endures more than the other, or terribly crushed more than the other, etc. For example, husband and wife who are at the lowest ebb of life in terms of economic/financial power, poor educational background or no education at all will most inevitably suffer marital violence and abuse much more than marriages of educated and economically powerful categories.
In recent times, wives or husbands that are educated and have a bit of community influence and perhaps some sort of economic and financial power have been faced with marital violence and abuse. The outcry of the society has been high in condemnation with strong advice that the victim should walk out of the marriage. This walk out option may not be an ideal recommendation or advice to marriages that are at the lower ebb of economic/financial power, lacking in influence in the community where they live or could not attract sympathetic intervention from the community, as well as with poor or no educational background. The question that is begging for an answer is this:
The wives of artisans, wives of drivers, wives of construction workers, wives of factory workers, wives of security guards, wives of truck pushers, wives of carpenters, wives of motor park touts, etc who got married directly from their village of nativity with or without any form of educational background (perhaps with only primary six or secondary school certificate), who are suffering unprecedented marital distress, do we expect this class of husbands or wives to walk out of their marriages or advice them to call the police for their husbands or wives in cases of marital violence and abuse?.
So the solution actually lies in marital education before anyone takes on the journey of becoming a husband or a wife. We need to have a system whereby husband and wife (to be) would be thoroughly educated on issues of marital duties, marital responsibilities, marital obligations, marital rights, and marital privileges. And in my view, churches, and related NGOs together with the media can champion this course. Churches are close to the entire grass-root community of humans all over the world, so they are in a position to assist in this regard.
As for Center for Marital Affairs - CMA (www.centreformaritalaffairs.com) in collaboration with House of God Fellowship Church – HGF (www.hgflivingchurch.com), we pledge our commitment.

PS: For those who sent in emails or made phone calls to ask for direction to House of God Fellowship (HGF)………..the righteous living church where people worship God with peace of mind, here below is the direction to our location:
Enter a bus or arrive from anywhere to Ajah, move on to Abraham Adesanya roundabout, come down there or drive from there to Ogombo Town; or enter keke from Abraham Adesanya to Ogombo Town, drop at Redeemed bus stop, drive on or take okada straight to the end of the redeemed road, then ask of House of God Fellowship Church. Call this number if you need help – 08050880359.
You will be very happy to be part of the church. The church is indeed a home for the resolution of marital issues, the development and empowerment of young people, capacity building in business management and entrepreneurship, and righteous living doctrine, among others.

1. wife or husband of a business manager, business director, civil servant or politician – these are top level wives and top level husbands
2. wife or husband of a very busy man or woman entrepreneurs in business or in trade
3. a complete housewife who depends totally on her husband for everything
4. a working class housewife or husband who gets up early in the morning, go to work, and return in the evening
5. a housewife running a business of her own and her husband is working
6. a husband and wife managing business together or trading in business together
7. a wife of a jobless husband
8. a wife who is a student and her husband is working
9. single mother wife

Family / Why Ladies Find It Very Difficult To Find Husbands Nowadays (part3) by Secretary2: 1:27pm On Apr 14, 2022
No Lady goes out to canvass for husband. It is the sole responsibility of a man to go out and look for his wife and in any case he is entitled to one wife. From the beginning apart from the order of creation, man is channeled to be the one to go out and find a suitable partner for his life. And when his wife is found, he now sets his house in order, ready for production of children as successor(s) to his name.
But why is it difficult for today’s young men to go out and interestingly find their wives? And ironically, the same young men seem to be much interested in having casual relationship with ladies. Why? Why do you want to enter into a young lady’s body and you don’t want to live with her, why? Let me spot out some whys:
1. You as a guy don’t have financial power. Yes I agree that you don’t have a financial power because you are not ready to take risks, you are not ready to be adventurous, and you are not ready to commit yourself to a purposeful self and skills development. No young guy lives a life of mere wishes and become anything in life. By nature, women are to be cared for by men – that’s how God created it; if you are a Christian go and read your Bible from Genesis to Revelation, and if you are a Muslim, go and read your Quran from the beginning to the end. It’s just that things have deteriorated, things are in their state of disrepair, otherwise no matter how rich, how successful a lady is economically or financially, she is still subject to the care, to the love and to the nourishment of her husband. In return what she gives reciprocally is her body. However, modern economic and civilization pundits tends to myopically think that education has come to alter that expectation, meaning that a woman can now take all the responsibilities that are supposed to be taken by her husband.

2. When a young man is perceived to be lacking potentials for growth in future, it becomes difficult for ladies who are good assessors of the future of a young man to consent to such a young man’s request for marital union. Let me tell you, every woman is good at discerning what the future of the young man looks like. Maybe the way you talk, your conversation about the present and future life, maybe your idea as to what you wish to become (not necessarily talking and no action), or your passion to how you package yourself, etc. Ladies do easily appraise young men in this regard and the feedback to get to themselves by themselves is either you are seen as the serious type or you are not the serious type. As everyone ought to know, and of course everyone does know, to be a woman is a huge burden and responsibility. From the pain of child bearing to being a mother of a child or children leading the children to growth and maturity is definitely a task that will require financial, material and spiritual support from the man who is just a husband.
Apart from the scanty number of young men who are disposed to getting married at the early time of their life (unlike thousands who are due but not ready), ladies in their selection process tend to reject many unserious, unorganized and futureless young men. No woman would like to put her head under a man who will not care for the family. Becoming husband and wife is not a license to sexual access, but it is much more than that. If you marry a wife, you have signed on for the production of children, you have opened yourself up to the people of the lady as well as your own people, therefore if you don’t have money, and you cannot show or prove that you are on your way to making money in the nearest future, no young lady that knows her worth would be ready and willing to marry a directionless and futureless young man.

3. How do I know about all these points I have raised? For example, the numbers of young men and ladies who are looking for jobs today always have young ladies looking for the job more than the young men. During job interview, young ladies tend to be forthcoming in answering interview questions, arguing on interview points than their male counterparts. Young ladies are more eager to get job than their young men counterparts. In offices where young ladies and young men are employed, young ladies stay longer on the job and tends to be more rules and regulations compliant than their young men counterparts. Young men easily lose their jobs faster, quicker than their female counterparts. From these scenarios you could see that young men are more exposed to losing their occupational job very quickly than their female counterpart; a situation which depicts clearly those young men of today seems to be lacking the gut and grit to hold firmly together. If you cannot hold your job, if you cannot get along well with office matters, certainly you will not be able to govern a family. I will come again next time, enjoy what you read and let me hear from you.

Family / Why Ladies Find It Very Difficult To Find Husbands Nowadays (part 2) by Secretary2: 10:09am On Apr 11, 2022
Take These Steps to Know If He/ She Is the One to Marry You

Following my last piece on “why ladies find it very difficult to find husbands nowadays”, I like to come your way again with the above stated sub topic.
Marriage is not a buy and sell thing. Marriage is not a show business. Marriage is not an achievement either.
Marriage is a divine, spiritual institution built for males/females who will become husband/wife to cohabit, live together, raise children, train those children to become builders of community, society, and in turn build their own family from offspring to offspring.
The importance of this explanation points very quickly at character issue. A good character begets a good home, begets a good relationship, begets a joyful and happy living etc.
Character is what attracts strong and reliable relationship. But characters can be broken down into various components, for example, good sense of humor, good sense of respect for oneself and to another person, good sense of kindness and hospitality, good sense of romance and sex, good sense of prudence and accountability, good sense of tolerance and forgiveness, good sense of comfort and consideration, just to mention but a few.
In this case, if you are looking to get married, you must be careful to fix both your observatory eyes and good sense of reason on the following:
1) What is the family background of this girl or guy I intend to approach or is approaching me for marriage – his or her family condition is important. Is this guy’s or girl’s parents living together? What is the history of their marital life? How are they rated within their neighborhood – quarrelling, fighting, peaceful, or what? What is their reputation? Do you know why you must inquire about all these? - a child will always resemble his or her father or his or her mother or both. So, if you marry a girl or a guy you have subscribed to the lifestyle, attitude, and character of his or her parents. As you know, the issue of gene is always there and everybody have it.
2) Assess the guy or girl to know his or her potential for contributing to the future economy of the marriage. In order words, what is his or her skill? Does he or she have potentially feeling for the comfort and freedom of the family in future? What is he or she doing now? You can’t look for a wife or husband in particular when you don’t have a job; you don’t have a credible or feasible job that you are doing at the moment? And for ladies there is no space in the present world anymore for a husband to be liable for all the needs that a woman would need. Things have changed and so a girl looking to get married must have something you are doing. Do you have special apprenticeship skills or are you doing a white collar job? At least there must be something you are capable of doing in order to support your husband and children that will come eventually.
3) The “ Quality list” of the man or lady that should be your husband or wife which you already have in your mind, in your handbag, in your diary, or wherever you kept it – are you exactly what that list says? I leave you to answer this question. I will come your way again in my part three (3).

Family / Why Ladies Find It Very Difficult To Find Husbands Nowadays (part 1) by Secretary2: 9:15am On Apr 06, 2022
Nigeria is sick right now, the world is sick right now. The rate at which marriages are dying away is heartbreaking. Also, many of the children born into the country, and the world today are rather seen as liabilities than assets. Families are not together because husbands and wives have separated. We as a country are facing a grave danger but we seem not to know this.
While this allusion may be both objective and subjective, the fact remains that the market place for finding husbands is tough now than ever before. But, Centre for Marital Affairs (CMA) is concerned about why faith-based organizations, particularly churches seems not to deal with the real substance of the matter. Many churches today, unfortunately, are playing to the gallery. They are not teaching their members the obvious and definite realities that today have brought to bear on both young ladies and guys.
Marriage is not for boys, neither is it for little girls. Marriage is not a type of undertaking one can just wake up and jump into it. It requires a great deal of mind and mental training, refocusing with purposeful mission. Intensive effort and commitment is required for two people to get together to become husband and wife, essentially for the production of children for family, community, and the larger society. The hope, strength, and future of any nation lies in the family. A lady who is hoping to become a wife and a guy who is also hoping to become a husband with anticipation to be a father or mother definitely require a very strong preparation and mentorship. Whoever bakes a lady to become a good wife or a guy to become a good husband is truly a builder of nation.
It is with this in mind that Centre for Marital Affairs (CMA) is highly commending the House of God Fellowship Church (HGF). When CMA came across HGF it noted with gladness their self imposed tag which is “The righteous living church”. Curious! They must have something to offer in this age and time when majority of churches could hardly place their focus on “Righteous living” for fear of losing members, let alone “where people could worship God with peace of mind”. Definitely, HGF is a place to focus eyes on.
True to their claim, HGF church is super. There is no nonsense there. It is totally the truth of the bible you hear; prosperity messages are not a regular type, God flog and kill my enemies messages are not a regular type – every message is holistic. I think this is the kind of church Nigeria and indeed Africa need right now in order to repair the minds of millions of people that has been misled, perversed and damaged by the sermonic messages of getting it made without much struggle, and anyone that is against me should go off life etc. Very honestly speaking, churches seem to have misled so many couples who today are facing severe marital disharmony.
HGF which is located at No 3, Henry Udofia close, Newtown Estate, Ogombo Town, an axis of Ajah, Lagos, Mobile: 08050880359, Email: hgf@hgflivingchurch.com, Website: www.hgflivingchurch.com, is worth recommending to any truth seeking, mature- mind seeking person. It is indeed a place one can go for preparation to get married. A place where marital emphasis is on duties, responsibilities, obligations and privileges in marriage are thoroughly expounded, including types of relationship and moral charter that should exist between husband and wife to keep love alive.
I am happy with the head of the church in the person of Prof. Chris Onalo, who also doubles as Chief - Marital Affairs Officer of the church. He is an academic professor; no wonder therefore the church is standing on a very high moral and spiritual principles. His kinds are not many.
The purpose of this writeup is to drive genuine traffic to that church. The traffic of ladies who potentially are really and truly looking to become a good future wife, as well as young men who really and truly want to be prepared to become a responsible husband. As an NGO organization, CMA is committed to finding such a place for serious minded ladies and young men around town.
I trust Prof. Chris Onalo will prepare you to be completely at peace with your life and be on your way, confidently ready to discover your would-be husband or wife that will soon come. For the good of our community and nation, what every family need is a husband who will not break his wife’s heart, the husband who will not abandon his wife; a husband who will not brutalize his wife, a husband who will not insult and abuse his wife’s parents. Similarly, the wives that young men are looking to have are those character – beautiful ladies with perfect submission; they are not looking for a quarrelsome and contentious ladies; they are in search of ladies who will do them good.
I like to conclude by saying; distance cannot be a barrier to where good things are, go to House of God Fellowship (HGF) now – it makes sense!
