Interesting read. An err we all tend to make or a disciple we struggle to lash ourselves with.
I can relate with the post.
And the part of trust; hummmm, interesting approach.

It does mean we're financially tight until we finish the build March/ April 2023 (build starts in Oct 2022) but it's for our future financial security so we're totally happy to have a few tight years.
... ...
We have also created a family trust. ...
We've currently set it so it can only be dissolved by a court and no beneficiaries can sell assets out of it including us once the asset has been placed in it.
2 reasons we have done this – divorce/ separation for us or our children. Even though we all hope to remain married till death, the truth is that divorce and remarriage happens. The trust is set up to protect the financial interests of all beneficiaries

This is not financial advice. Just sharing what we have done.

Cybersecurity has become a slap it all for 'all' things security (information security). One thing I can say is the more you go deep, the deeper it becomes; needing varying skillsets to navigate.
Though you might not need a licence, in the true sense of it, however, you'll soon discover this thing the call security clearance. The more you look, the more you see different shades of 'em. They quickly become a stumbling block.
PS: talking of licence, the UK national cybersecurity strategy is seemly moving in that direction. The NCSC is not far-off

1.0 Look out for BCS, become a member and work things from there.
2.0 Get on board the CISSP bandwagon, starting with the CCSA (if that's what it's still called).
2.1Whilst at it, detour to ISACA for certification in CSX certifications, starting with cybersecurity fundamental, then CSX Foundation. Then, shoot for ISACA CSX Practitioner and (ISC)2 CISSP in one go.
I recommend this based on your 'profile', you've sketched. We've all been through the 'computer village'. At times, there's no other foundational grounding! That's discourse for another day.

In btw, you might want to go the networking route, then your path, though not strictly, would drift along the CCNA (or variants), CCNA security. However, ain't no stopping into CCIE.

By the way, there's this craze for data analytics/science/engineer. Maybe, might get your foot in the door faster than the two above. Dunno? However, the Python for data analytics is also essention for Networking these days.
Lemme step aside and allow the landlords speak to your matter. They have the insightfully insights.

I think you now need a license to be in the cyber security field but I'm not totally sure. I would advise that you go for something easier, you can try data analytics or front end web dev or any other IT path were the requirements for getting a job aren't so high

Spot on, on all. On 6 et 7, perhaps we say vice-versa.
... Plan, start your retirement from day zero.
LondonDating:

1. Don't claim benefits you are not entitled to from the Govt as it may take 25 years to find out but they probably will and even if they don't you don't want to make a habit of taking what you are not entitled to.
2. Always pay your taxes as tax evasion carries a 5 year prison sentence.
3. The less the number of Nigerian friends you have the better for you.
4. Save, save and save to get a deposit to buy your own house (Mortgage) as all rent is waste and your propert(ies) will serve as a good source of pension and wealth in future.
5. IF you ever need to flog your errant school age pikin, make sure it is on the palm.
6. Not sure if you are a man but if you are, NEVER hit a woman.
7. You can go to prison for 8 years if your wife says get up and you say wait till I finish as from the point you carry on regardless, it is called marital rape.
8. Don't drink and drive or drive withouth insurance as if you hav an accident in such circumstances, you will be jailed. Also do not drive if you have been banned from driving.
9. Don't listen to ANY Nigerian who tries to teach you ways to beat the system (e.g fiddle with your electric meter) or make easy money as any easy money comes with a greater than 50% probability that you will end up in jail.
10. If you have a son in the UK, just know that black boys are picked on by the UK educational system and learn to do your own research / tough love at home and not believe everything negative they say about your son.

Thanx lalasticlala for getting this here yourself. The super super supermod himself!
At (real) OP only get this out about a yr later (24th in remembrance of the 23rd B'Day). There're lotta comments/opinions I could make, I'll refrain from 'em all.
Manje (as the Zulus), or ngoku (as the Xhosa) or à présent, as the French might say, I'll look at #impact.
In the last 24hrs or so, there are around 10 post with 5 rating on Google (www.google.co.za/travel/hotels/WARERE%20BEACH%20HOTEL%20NUNGWI/entity/CgsI5NCwrLXAvcScARAB/reviews?q=WARERE%20BEACH%20HOTEL)

Of this, one is a 5 with a message ... The 5 rating is to warn you from this place. Please before considering it check the @zainabdehinde experience on Twitter. HORRIBLE & UNSAFE ...
Another was a 5 with service=1, location=1, so seemly wrong tick.
About three are one liner, the rest are just 'tick off'.
Until then, the **** hotel seems to bask away on +/-3.5 (estimation). Right now, it's "1" with a recommendation 'to close'.
As it stands, the **** hotel might need to hire more than the Arushan (oops, Tanzanian) to try and reverse the power of social platforms (Twitter, NL et al.)

In the last 24hrs, most of the review, (which might seems to be >8000) are from Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, Botswana, maybe Zim, Namibia, Moz...
Perhaps, should I have time, I might consider doing some sentiment and decision tree analysis.

After a cursory reading of your writing, impressive I must say, I perceive the trapping of a masterpiece. All the essentials are in there.
PS : I must still take time to digest the write-up. I have no doubt, it'll make an interesting reading.

Beyond the interpretivist (qualitative) philosophical approach, seeing that the discourse points towards 'how' and 'why', so it seems, would you mind a critical realism philosophical underpinning. Thus, engaging the ontological reality, and the explanatory and emancipatory ethos of critical realism1 in unearthing the (beneath the 'scene') mechanisms.
Giving the nature of the discourse, a triune legal, religious and medical theoretical framing are used to retroduce (refit if one might loosely say) the mechanism to the identified event: DV and death. More so, tapping into its methodological pluralism.

The death of Osinachi Nwachukuwu shocked many and provoked controversies, especially regarding her marriage (Kaduna, 2022). When I learned of her death, I was first sad that such a great singer was gone; later, as more details began to emerge, I soon began to wish that we got things right in our country, sooner than later. Notwithstanding the myriads of testimonies that have flooded the online space, the true cause of Osinachi's death can only be established by an autopsy (Das and Chowdhury, 2017). Until this is done, statements about her death cannot hold water.
...
Domestic violence (DV), or intimate partner violence, is defined as "a pattern of behavior in any relationship that is used to gain or maintain power and control over an intimate partner" (United Nations, n.d.). DV also refers to injurious physical, sexual, and psychological behaviours occurring within the context of an intimate union or any other type of union (Sardinha et al., 2022).
...
As I conclude, I would like to leave this last note to victims of DV. Please, prioritize your life over anything. Your life is paramount. Separate yourself from your spouse now that you still can. Beyond this, you should also report him/her to the authorities and ensure he/she is prosecuted and put behind bars for a long time. If you take these actions, you would have successfully protected future victims of your spouse.

COREN (statutory) and NSE (defacto society) have their place. As you go through the process, do the same for the UK. Kind of 2-in-1

The statutory is ECUK. You'll need to identify the appropriate engr body. You can't apply to ECUK directly.
Process flow: www.engc.org.uk/professional-registration/
Pocket Guide to Professional Registration for engineers and technicians 2021/22: www.engc.org.uk/professional-registration/pocket-guide-to-professional-registration/

Whilst at it, don't forget Goke7 advice on personal specific.

Yep. Buy now pay later is a form of credit. In actual fact, it is #credit.

On the JL, PayPal in 3 and OP, the credit is with the later 2. JL ain't part of the credit.

Kindly pay more, critical attention to Goke7 message (admonition as it seems).
In cover letter, be specific on 'personal' details: technical, process, regulatory...

For instance, in this 'scenario', which caterpillar engines or gas turbines you worked on (not all but just two or three), what did you do on them, what did you achieved with them from engineering and benefit output. You can even approach from what 'risk' you had and how exactly did you avert.

Inbetween, your membership of COREN and or NSE must be intact in addition to UK CEng or IEng or EngTech.

@the underlined, do you stand a chance, probably. However, you'll need an orientation shift from what to how: generic to specific and actionable

Andrenalin:

Thanks a lot for this ,
Kindly weigh my experience… I have work as a mechanical tech for 10yrs plus now in the oil and gas industry working on Caterpillar Engines, Gas Turbines, Pumps and Compressors. Also work as Operators for two yes. Do you think I stand a chance securing a job there if I relocate?
Thanks I am anticipating ur respond

Goke7:

The thing about the UK is that you need to study about the industry and tailor your naija experience to their job specs highlighting the projects you have done and how it relates to the UK industry. They also want to know what you did and not what your company or team did. Also check out the necessary credentials and qualifications that are required for the role you apply for. All Engineering Jobs in the UK are in the shortage skill list and once you can prove you know the job, you can even get a company to sponsor your visa but the question remains do you know the job?

Let me say upfront, the OP needs to pick between battle and war. Secondly, there's injustice and there're injustices. Nonetheless, when wrong is wrong, it is wrong. There's a reason why in most countries, dignity (alongside privacy) are part of #rights.
The OP can take the matter further with JL and if (s)he desires, also with the Information Commissioner (DPA). However, going the solicitor route (and consequently solicitor utilising barrister), let OP weigh battle and war!

PayPal in 3: the credit (amount, process, profile, legal...) is between the PayPal client and PayPal. Beyond the two parties, transaction is Blackbox in so far as details is concerned.
I'll leave it at that without much further elaboration.

PS: I've used info loosely as if one and same as data.

Can a fraud unit utilise public, public sensitive and even private info (data), yes they can. Nonetheless, in their usage (processing), they are mandated to adhere to the other principles (as a combined lot and not isolated units).

NB: DPA (in UK way b4 the GDPR even comes to be!) is similar to others South Africa POPI act, Jamaica's DPA, Australia's DPA, California Privacy Act or US HIPAA/HITECH, even 9ja NDPR, about to be Indian's DPA ...). I have some posting on my LinkedIn on data protection/privacy.

JL: John Lewis
JL is a third party to the two-parties (PayPal and Amarathripple0) [credit] relationship in so far as PayPal in 3 is concerned (well, I stand to be corrected with the little of law, risk, security, audit, consulting I've done over the years). Disclaimer: despite working in law and in Court, I'm not a Solicitor/lawyer nor Barrister/Advocate. There's a branch of law that allows me to 'practice' within its limited constraints!!!

Refusing ordinal customer, provider transaction is not the norm. That JL will have explain and explain real good. The twist is the 'not present transaction'. There are other areas that comes into the picture. Some are AML (even though JL would not ordinarily be classified as an entity in this regard!), Ethics (ethical morale), responsible trading ...

Inbtw, by the OP aversion, I credence is to be made to it, there is a non-profit transaction (debit card) that was refused/declined. Ordinarily, that would settled the matter. However, it was not so. The onus shifts to JL.

Let me #pause. I will not pass an firm opinion nor verdict.
All rise!

The links were to provide you pointers on understanding the concepts. Once understood, you should be able to make informed decisions, and engage solicitors, agents, landlord et al. critical, and in a way as well as understand the market.
invariably, there's the 'lease' and 'free' in your buy, which is 'distinct' to rent.
TheGuyFromHR and Rubyventures have given contextual, explanatory information.

Viruses:

I just went through these links, there is actually the option to buy...as in buy gangan and become the landlord/freeholder but the article itself insinuated that it is not easy.

@bolded underlined
Trust the Gurus will do justice to your grey area.

Just pointing to the following:

You only own a leasehold property for a fixed period of time. (different from freehold or technically 999yrs lease)
Ownership of the property returns to the landlord when the lease comes to an end.

There are two fundamentally different forms of legal ownership: freehold and leasehold. Although estate agents tend to gloss over it, it can be the difference between a home that is worth buying and one that isn’t. ...

So if I buy a house for £250k for instance and the lease on it is 50 years. Does it mean after 50 years my house is no longer my own?

Xenophobia is one of them; albeit most visible. There're structural (structure, agency, mechanism) issues that aren't apparent to many. Should the elasticity get snapped, it's gonna be freefall, at a rate and magnitude that'll make 9ja appears "way better".
9ja seemly has survived on #resilience, SA rather on existing fragile 'structure'

hustla:

Yeah southy can be volatile cos of xenophobia
My research about Mauritius says it's the best in Africa wink
semmyk:
Beware of SA (South Africa, Southie...). It's a 50:50. The rate at which things are going, calls for concern. Let's leave it unpacked for now!
PS: I can't speak for Mauritius or Seychelles.
