Politics / Fayose Condemns Petrol Price Increment, Says “FG Insensitive To by sewentybaba: 8:49pm On May 11, 2016
Read his statement below...
Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has condemned the increment from N86.50 to N145 of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) otherwise known as petrol, describing it as insensitive and demonstration of the level of hatred the President Mohammadu Buhari led All Progressives Congress (APC) government had for Nigerians.
The governor, who said the over 70 per cent increment was another vindication of his predictions on what to expect in 2016, added that it was now clear that the scarcity of petrol being experienced in the last three months was deliberately orchestrated by the federal government to pave way for the already conceived increment.

According to his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, Governor Fayose said “Nigerians are now left at the mercy of political liars who took over power by deception and are governing by deceit.

He said he was waiting for the reaction of those who took to the streets to protest when fuel subsidy was removed by the Dr Goodluck Jonathan administration in 2012, urging labour unions in the country to stand by their members always, not minding the political party in government. He said;

“When they were seeking for votes from Nigerians, they promised to reduce petrol pump price to from N87 to N45 per litre, they promised to create three million jobs per year, they said $1 will be equal to N1 and above all, they promised to pay unemployed youths N5, 000 stipend and provide one meal a day to pupils nationwide.

“Instead of fulfilling their promises, they have increased petrol pump price to N145 per litre, increased electricity tariffs, retrenched thousands of workers and imposed untold hardships on Nigerians.

“As they did in 2012, if labour leaders do not also stand up for the people at this time, posterity will not forgive them.”

Politics / Osun State: Open Letter To PMB By Jamiu Orimolade by sewentybaba: 2:37pm On Feb 18, 2016
AN OPEN LETTER TO THE PRESIDENT OF FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA:IS PRESIDENT MUHAMMAD BUHARI OBLIVIOUS OF THE"DICTATORSHIP AND TYRANNICAL PROGRAMMES" OF GOVERNOR AREGBESOLA IN OSUN STATE?Dear sir,It is with great caution and RESPECT I write to SENSITIZE you sir of the great disaster waiting to happen in Osun Stateand indeed Nigeria if you do not step into this matter.More importantly sir, you may need to call OGBENI AREGBESOLA of your party APC and whose governance is subjected to your Authority into order unless the State of Osun has been emancipated from Nigeria as suggested from their special renaming: State of Osun - I wonder if you know what that means sir because I don't!In the first instance Mr President, you will recollect how you despite opposing forces granted bail out to Osun State for payment of backlog of salaries being owned by various states in Nigeria due to EXAGGERATED EFFECTS OF falling oil prices! Majority of the governors knew they have been eaten deep into their state revenues so when the oil prices started dwindling globally, it became obvious how extravagant they have been; not willing to douse their wasteful lifestyle.Prior to this, the hymnal in the mouth of our own self- praisegovernor of Osun state was that the previous GEJ 's administration was " withholding" his allocation as a punitive measure for championing your course. We took this story hook, line and sinker. We were wrong and naive sir!Surprisingly sir, the allocation you signed came in but this PRODIGAL SON of a governor decided to divert bulk of the funds for continuation of his MASSES UNFRIENDLY PROJECTS while releasing the salaries of workers in crunches after they have been OVERTAXED. We were disappointed because Mr. President had promised to see that the bail out would be used for its PRIMARY PURPOSE: WORKERS' SALARIES!We could not believe sir that you would not set up committees to ensure the workers were not robbed the UMPTEENTH TIME!The least you could have done sir was to ENSURE THE WORKERS GOT THEIR WAGES! I don't want to join forces with anyone in castigating you sir but that singular omission has indicted your excellency of being partial and impulsive; Dasukigate case being an example! More so, the dailies are reporting efforts of the Osun state governor and some other wasteful governors at getting another round of bail- out funds. This VICIOUS CYCLE of lavishing our meagre resources on OGBENI and his colleagues without accountability for the funds they have had in the past is UNPRECEDENTEDLYDEHUMANIZING for the workers that would have to endure the untold hardship being unleashed on them!We thought APC whom you sold to us Mr. President would DELIVER; yet we are ENDANGERED!The most annoying thing to me is the audacity with which your information minister keep running to the press at the slightest corruption allegations purported by the oppositionparty members while the OGBENI AREGBESOLA continues his business as USUAL SELF - AGGRANDISEMENT and misappropriation!Who is OGBENI serving Mr President? Is it his unrealistic projects of airport and other O' nonsense programmes Or the masses whose wages are being plundered into the " leaking BASKET" OF IDIOSYNCRASIES!The teachers and all other workers of the state are devastated having to be governed by a dictator whom we know you see every FEC meeting; Sir, I just hope you are not sacrificing Osun on the table of political payback time to Ogbeni!Mr President sir! You might claim you are not aware of all these calamities but you would have seen how much Osun state take home from already dwindled allocation. The December allocation for Osun was allegedly said to be zero.Simply because our "Omoluabi in reverse" governor had borrowed against our great great grandChildren' future for projects that would not improve economy of the state. Loans we have not heard in our parents lives. From Banks" bonds, Sukuk loans, Islamic state of Osun loans to popular yoruba over -capitalized interest loans called"gbomulelanta",Mr governor has thrown Osun into years of Slavery of repayment! How would you stem this "unreasonable" financial behaviour of OGBENI and other governors that may want to "copy" this " madness" before the masses begin taking law into their hands - already local thieves and armed robbers have gone back to their drawing board in Osun state - Is this still democracy in our land?Governor Aregbesola seems to have bought all opposition forces in Osun state from Osun state NLC to the members of house of Assembly and the State judiciary, all have eaten the " proverbial dodo (plantain)" and cannot say the "ododo"(the truth);the least being staging a FALSE CONFRONTATION against the Mr. Governor. The only voices presently are those of the BRAVE FEMALE State judge Mrs Oloyede - who in recent times have been embarrassed by different queries even from the NJC - and the Doctors in the state who are at the verge of abandoning Osun state! Osun is about to loose finally her voice and freedom enshrined by the democracy you cherished sir unless you act promptly Mr. President.IMO state workers and masses thank you for not being gullible like Osun NLC!The last straw that broke the Carmel back was the continuous paralysis of education and health institutions inOsun. While the teachers and other workers in the state have resolved to taking half salaries despite being owned backlogs - a move that is manifesting in educational and moral decadence in Osun ( coming 29th out of 36 states in Nigeria by Osun is not a day's job really); the doctors have decided to damn the consequences of OGBENI' s stubbornness and wickedness by withdrawing their ESSENTIAL SERVICES unless Mr governor would pay the backlog of salaries arrears from June! Their claim is a doctor cannot treat patient half way and so they would not collect half salaries. Seem justified. Not asking for salary upfront!I almost lost my sick aunt when I took her to one of the best teaching hospitals in Nigeria - LAUTECH Osogbo. The governor confused - media assistant Semiu Okanlawon keep circulating falsehood that doctors were working - a move to save their failed state- only to be greeted by empty wards and deafening silence. What a disaster that almost became for me! It was by divine help that I got a doctor' s assistance for my Aunt. How many more lives have been lost? I cannot say but I know that the mortuaries are already congested! Now the doctors will soon be joined by their colleagues in Obafemi Awolowo teaching hospital Ile Ife in solidarity strike and later the strike may become nationwide. Meanwhile Ogbeni is still stuck to his gun of financial recklessness, economically unsustainable contracts and multi billion naira inflated airport and state of art school buildings projects with ill - motivated teachers. Ogbeni still flies his helicopter. Ogbeni still bought cars worth of millions of naira to his " dummy" legislators!I am appalled. On a final note Mr. President, I strongly feel you should look seriously into these issues before you as a matter of urgency, before Osun state bring other health institutions in the countries onto their knees and school students and youths begin kidnapping business to support their hunger stricken parents which up till now is an unconsidered work in the south west.No need for loosing more lives; Boko haram has done his worst......No need for amnesty programme; we can still salvage this situation......No need for hiring Cuba doctors Ogbeni; our children are still the part of the Best brains in Medicine globally!Mr President sir, no need for looking away from AREGBESOLA' s affairs; he would disgrace you and bring your name into disrepute - we know he campaigned for your winning mode already activated!Sir, you can delegate people to salvage this horrendous scenarios if you must travel again!Sincerely Yours,Jamiu Orimolade.(The unemployed graduate)

Health / Osun State: Doctors Reply Aregbesola by sewentybaba: 11:37pm On Dec 21, 2015
“BEFORE THEY GET AWAY WITH IT”: A COMMUNIQUÉ READ AT THE PRESS BRIEFING BY THE PRESIDENT OF ASSOCIATION OF RESIDENT DOCTORS, LTH, OSOGBO IN RESPONSE TO THE OSUN STATE GOVERNMENT’S PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

The Association of Resident Doctors, LTH, Osogbo, a centre affiliate of National Association of resident Doctors (NARD) is an umbrella body for all doctors in Residency Training Program in LAUTECH Teaching Hospital.
One of the aims of the body is to assist the Government and good people of the State in the provision of smooth, efficient and effective Health Care Delivery.

PREAMBLE:
We want to put on record that:
i. Association of Resident Doctors, LAUTECH Teaching Hospital, Osogbo (ARD LTH) went on Industrial Strike Action on the 28th September, 2015
ii. It should be recalled that before the aforementioned date, ARD LTH Osogbo had endured several untoward hardship that was brought upon us by the State Government for three years.
It should also be recalled that in the last two years:
On one hand, ARD, LTH Osogbo had engaged the State Government on dialogue on several platforms;
We had made efforts to meet with the State Governor, Deputy Governor, Chief of Staff, Speaker and Members of House of Assembly especially House Committee on Health to discuss the various problems.
On the other hand, we had continued understand the plea of the State Government, to ensure uninterrupted health care delivery to the good people of Osun State.
We had also issued several Ultimata to the Government.
Sadly, all these did not yield any Positive Outcome.
iv. After years of such understanding, the State Of Our Welfare has become unjustifiable and worrisome, leading to inability to attend to our basic needs of life.

ISSUES
1a. the State Government has imposed the ‘PITAS’ tax system – Federal government tax system - which has added to the misery experienced by our members.
b. Our members are worse hit than other State Government staff because LTH has no Pension plan, no Housing plan etc.
c. This Tax system has not been fully implemented in any state of the Federation except in Lagos and Osun States.
d. While our members were trying to understand this hardship, the State Government again unilaterally started withholding a significant percentage of our salaries while promising us ‘Special Allowances’ without any formal or informal negotiations with the body.
e. The State Government persist to offer part payment, ignoring the fact that we are strict professionals and our job cannot be partly done and/or left unattended to.
f. The State Government has embarked on payment of a stipend which doesn’t equate to either a full or half salary.
g. One would think that the ideals of democracy should be the prevailing occurrence where democracy is seen as the government of the people, by the people and for the people. However, what we are presently experiencing is a false system of government - to say the least.
h. It should be stated emphatically that the last time our salary was paid was in June 2015.
i. Osun State Government has owed us 6 months till date.
j. Also, the State Government has paid us a stipend, between July and September 2015.
k. We still await a statement from the Government to explain whether this stipend is part of our salary or a “Do-Not-Die-But-Continue-To-Work” wages.

l. Again for emphasis, it should be noted that ARD LTH, Osogbo earns a consolidated salary system and as such not entitled to car loans/allowance, housing loans/allowance, leave bonus/allowance etc hence one wonders how ‘special allowances’ deal will be applicable.

2 a. Curiously, the State Government has continued to ignore the Federal Government-approved Adjusted CONMESS & Relativity payment to our doctors in the hospital, despite implementing the Federal Government Tax for this Salary Scale in full.
b. This action of the government is totally against the provision of the edict establishing our dear Teaching Hospital.
c. This is a clear case of ‘Double Standard’ and ‘Selective Abstraction’.
d. In Mathematical expression, as a result of the above, our present pay is one-quarter of that of our other colleagues in other State and Federal Institutions and our tax double theirs.
e. Our members cannot obviously meet their obligations again!!
f. Ladies and Gentlemen, there is only one term to explain this; it is ‘ECONOMIC GENOCIDE’
g. In principle, it should be noted that the Nigerian public do not differentiate between doctors in a State Teaching Hospital like ours and a Federal Teaching Hospital; they all expect to get the same level of Health Care Delivery.
h. We must also alert the good people of the state of Osun that our Best brains’ in the health sector are exiting the state and this portrays danger, if not arrested now!!
3 a. Our members have not had access to Pay-Slips in the last one year, a development that is not just worrisome but sickening. (The last Pay Slip gotten in November and December 2014 were in sharp contrast to the ‘Take Home.’)
b. A situation we hope EFCC and ICPC will resolve.
4a. Again, the management of LTH, Osogbo and the State Government over the years had refused to make funds available for Residency Training Programme in the hospital.
b. Of note is the financial contribution from doctors from sister institutions, which was a singular way out for members to write the last West Africa and National Postgraduate Examinations.
c. This means that our members had funded themselves for various Local and International Update Courses, National Examinations and Outside Postings.
d. It should be noted that these costs run into excesses of several hundreds of thousands of naira for each member on a yearly basis.

OBSERVATIONS
1a. That the Osun State Government wants to tell the good people of Osun that they run a Teaching Hospital and fund a reputable Residency Training Programme, while facts on ground suggest otherwise.
b. That the Osun State Government wants to eat their cake and have it at the detriment of the staff of the hospital and the good people of Osun State.
2. That the ARD, LTH, Osogbo is not interested in unnecessary Industrial Action in the interest of the good people of Osun State.
b. That the welfare of the good people of Osun State remains important to us.
c. But that we cannot continue to accept this level of Neglect and Insensitivity to us.
3a. Let it be clear that no amount of Intimidation or Ground Standing will make us go back to work at our own peril and at the risk of mismanaging the good people of Osun State.
b. This is Injustice and abuse of Rule of Law.

At this juncture, we want to put it on record that in the course of our discussions, we have proffered the Way Forward in terms of available options but it seems that the government of the day is hell bent on allowing the impasse to continue.
We therefore call on well meaning Nigerians, sons and daughters of Osun State to rescue the Health Care System of the State.

APPRECIATION
We appreciate His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari for his positive response to the suffering of the good people of Osun with release of bailout fund earlier in the year.
We appreciate the State Security Service, the Nigerian Police Force, the gentlemen of the Press for their professionalism, NARD and NMA.

ON THE LAST NOTE; TO WHOM NOTHING IS GIVEN, NOTHING IS EXPECTED.

Thank you all.

Long Live ARD, LTH Osogbo!!
Long Live NARD!!
Long Live NMA!!
Long Live Osun State

Politics / Prepare For Austerity, APC Tells Osun Peopleseptember 19, 2015: Olufemi Makinde by sewentybaba: 9:20pm On Sep 19, 2015
The All Progressives Congress has advised the people of Osun State to brace up for austerity measures which became the only way out of the economic crisis the state is facing. The Director of Publicity, Research and Strategy of the APC in Osun State, Mr. Kunle Oyatomi, gave this advice in a statement made available to our correspondent in Osogbo on Saturday while congratulating the labour unions and state government forfinally resolving the salary impasse. The APC attributed the economic crisis in the country to the alleged misrule of Peoples Democratic Party-led Federal Government. He said, “This will take a lot of sacrifice and belt tightening to fix.Every citizen must be prepared to experience one form‎ of austerity or the other in the mean time, if we are to expeditiouslyovercome the damage done by the PDP to the nation’s economy. Something has to give way for better things to happen.“It is not ‎ the government that will bear the brunt alone, the people should be prepared to share in making sacrifices, so thatwe can build a future for our children.”The ruling party blamed the PDP for the criticisms which have trailed the inability of the state to pay its workers for many months, saying the opposition party orchestrated the attacks against the government to discredit it.He said, “Of the number of states in the country where this samecrisis persisted, it was only in Osun that a satanic twist was orchestrated by the PDP to magnify the sad event. This is because desperate politicians murderously seeking power will stop at nothing to exploit people’s misfortune for their selfish political ambition.”But the opposition party has said they would not stop criticisingthe alleged maladministration of Governor Rauf Aregbesola’s administration. The Director of Media, Publicity and Strategy of the PDP in Osun State, Mr. Diran Odeyemi, when contacted by our correspondent said the criticisms against Aregbesola was more severe than in other states because the governor was the only one involved in reckless spending with impunity. The PDP said the ruling party’s advice was a confirmation that Aregbesola was planning to retrench workers and to impose heavy taxes on the people. He said, “Rather than prove us wrong, the APC has just corroborated our position that it has lost focus and can not bring smiles to the faces of the people but hardship.“It is sad that a government that promised workers good welfarepackages during campaign would withhold their salaries for nine months, and when given bailout by the FG, would fix it in a bank and embark on series of delay tactics to delay payment.“APC in other South West states do not purchase helicopter for the pleasure of their governor like we have in Osun, neither do they travel to Cuba forthrightly like Aregbesola does. If Osun APC expects us to keep quiet in the face of oppression, embezzlement, fraud, maladministration and other vices, they got it wrong.”

Politics / Aregbesola Diverting Bailout Fund, Osun Pensioners Lament by sewentybaba: 6:13pm On Sep 15, 2015
The Nigeria Union of Pensioners in Osun State has urged the Central Bank of Nigeria to lay an embargo on the N34.988bn bailout fund released to the state for payment of workers salaries and pensions. The Chairman of the NUP in the state, Tunde Ogunniyi, who said this at a press conference in Osogbo on Tuesday, said this call became necessary because Governor Rauf Aregbesola had allegedly refused to use the fund for what it was meant.Ogunniyi also called on President Muhammdu Buhari and the National Assembly to declare emergency rule in the state because the state was gravitating towards anarchy because of nonpayment of salaries and pensions. The pensioners said while many states which took the bailout had started paying backlog of salaries to their workers, Aregbesola had refused to pay workers and pensioners their entitlements. The NUP chairman said pensioners in the state were being owed backlog of unpaid pensions ranging from 10 to 15 months. He stated that some of the pensioners were paid half ofDecember 2014 pension and none had been paid a dime in 2015.He said, ” Pensioners have complied with the conditions laid down by the government for them to access their entitlements, which is screening of all pensioners in the state.“We expect the state government to have commenced payment after the screening about three weeks ago but the government has refused to do so.” This action of Osun State Government led by Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola amount to deliberate display of callousness, greediness, wickedness, flagrant disobedience to the rule of law, maladministration and fraud.” We hereby resolved that the Central Bank of Nigeria should immediately take over the direct payment of the money to each pensioner or in the alternative, place embargo on the state government from accessing the loan which the governor is planning to divert to fund white elephant projects.”Ogunniyi said Eco Bank took similar action when it lent Osun State some money to offset pension arrears in 2014. He explained that the step was taken by the bank to ensure that theloan was not diverted for other use.The pensioner stated that many members if the NUP had died prematurely because of lack of money to feed and to buy drugs to treat diseases some of them were managing. The union however called on the anti-graft agencies to investigate Aregbesola on how he had been managing the finances of the state, saying “he should be punished in accordance with the anti-graft law of the land.“We also want to warn these Lagos contractors to immediately pack all their equipment and leave Osun state within one week because their safety can no longer be guaranteed by the hungry Pensioners, workers and citizen of Osun state.”There has been allegation from the Peoples Democratic Party in the state that the governor paid a contractor N20bn from the bailout fund, but the governor had since denied it.Aregbesola had on Monday in a statement assured workers and pensioners that the bailout fund would be used for the purpose which it was meant.

Politics / The Travails Of Aregbesola: Response By Isaac Kolawole Fakeye by sewentybaba: 8:25am On Jul 24, 2015
Isaac Kolawole Fakeye

This is a response to an opinion published in This Day newspaper on Saturday 4th of July and written by Dele Momodu. Re: The travails of Aregbesola by Dele Momodu. In Nigeria of today, you get to read or hear some things that you either agree with or not. And as political animals, we all tend to identify with one ideology or the other at any given time. But this does not mean we should try to justify something that is totally wrong, an adage says lie may abound for twenty years but truth will prevail one day. Oga Dele Momodu told us of his ties with Osun state, but unlike him a whole lot of us are Osun state citizens, born and bred here, unlike him a whole lot of us are feeling the pangs of the hardship in Osun state. Oga Momodu described Governor Aregbesola as a "compulsive workaholic" someone who is embarking on massive infrastructural development. Agreed, but I will like to point out that this workaholic has misplaced priorities.
Projects like the Olajokun park is massive and impressive, but misplaced, the park has been under lock and key since the commissioning over 3 years on. Projects like the Ido Osun Airport; should I point out that Ibadan (Oyo State) with a much higher population has a airport that is under utilized, what do we think will happen to Ido-Osun Airport, and after so much noise the only thing we can see of the Airport is fence and more fence. Meanwhile advanced countries build new airports when the existing ones are being choked out. Projects like O' Uniform, and Opon Imo gulped billions of naira, today all the aforementioned "massive" projects are in comatose. Oga Momodu was magnanimous enough by reminding us of the cost of government which is so stupendous. He also told us of a 35,000 workforce in the Osun State Civil Service. Frankly, I do not know where he got this figure from considering he is not from Osun, nor working or living in the state.
According to Oga Momodu, the wages of the 35,000 workforce stands at #3.6B. Ironically as at 2012, the total workforce in the employment of Osun government and her local governments was less than 18,000. All these are verifiable and not mere conjuction. And we should not forget the fact that a sizeable number of workers disengaged from the Civil Service in 2012, most were high ranking workers. Should I state that as a pensioner, there is actually a reduction in what you earn. Even if the State Government employed new hands to fill some vacant posts, it will be at the low cadres and the reduction on the pensioners can comfortably take care of thier salaries. So how Oga Momodu arrived at 35,000 workforce and #3.6B as monthly wages still beats me. Actually I agree with Oga Momodu that the cost of running government is so stupendous. In Osun, the take home pay of a commissioner is around #450,000/month, he is entitled to Personal Assistant(s) who collects around #150,000 per month and a driver who also collects around #100,000 per month on paper. At the end of the month a commissioner takes home between #800,000 to #1m monthly. Our dear governor also appointed "consultants" for each ministry and they earn average of #300,000 monthly.
Advisers to the governor earn between #300,000 to #400,00 a month, then you have boards, the office of the chief of staff and numerous aides accross board. Then you go down to the local governments where an appointed councillor collects around #300,000 a month. Meanwhile a level 17 Civil Servant (most senior director) earns #190,000 per month. It is ironic to note that Oga Momodu heaped the whole salary issue on Civil Servants and conveniently left out political appointees. By the way both State and Local government workers in Osun State earn less than #2.5B a month. While both State and her Local Governments collect a minimum of #6B as allocation per month. Oga Momodu stated that the school feeding program gulps #3.5B per annum and the 'O Yes' scheme employed 40,000 youths at #3B per annum. This will amount to roughly #250M per month on each scheme. The total number of public school pupils is around 150,000, meanwhile it is only pupils in Elementary classes that are being fed. These pupils do not go to school on weekends and on holidays, can someone please do the maths for Oga Momodu? After the first 2 years of the 'O Yes' scheme, the first set of "20,000" was disengaged and another set of 20,000 allegedly employed. #10,000 per month in 20,000 places will be #200M and in 12 months it will be #2.4B a far cry from the #3B mentioned by Oga Momodu. We should not also forget the fact that these people are not up to 20,000 and their pay is also less than #10,000. We are yet to see the physical projects in Osun that are quite ambitious. The school buildings being built were funded mostly from Federal Government and Universal Basic Education funds.
The Osogbo by-pass is financed with borrowed funds. The Osogbo township roads that were commissioned were mainly Local Government roads constructed with Local Government funds by the State Government. The popular Ayegbaju market is being funded by a bank. All these are projects actually, but, if the State Government borrowed to execute these projects and also used Local Government allocations to fund some of these projects, where have the State allocations been going? Oga Momodu also wrote "arbitrary demand for wage increment by Civil Servants..." Seriously. Governor Aregbesola boasted he need not wait for federal allocation before paying salaries in 2010, what has changed? I expected Oga Momodu before writing that piece to have asked what happened to Osun's allocation in the past 8 months, or is it that Osun and her Local Governments did not collect a single kobo in 8 months?
When Goodluck Jonathan was president, government of Osun told us the Federal Government was cutting her allocation, but it was President Buhari who told us the Federal government was not owing any state. If the FG is not owing, what happened to our allocation? Sir, did you bother to find out how much Osun State and her Local Governments collected as allocation and IGR in the last 8 months? Did you bother to find out what the State's debt and servicing are? Did you at any time truthfully try to find out the true state of Osun finances before trying to defend Governor Aregbesola? Asking workers to sacrifice part of their "increased" salaries or suspend receipt of some arrears until the situation improves is an act of wickedness and inhumanity more over when these workers did not at any time contribute to the woes of the state. Governor Aregbesola knew where the money is, I urge you to ask him to tell you the true state of affairs before you start defending him. Also, I agree with Oga Momodu that Osun is not the only culprit, but, we are Osun citizens, so we shouod single Osun out, this is our state and not any of those other states. Finally, my thoughts and prayers are not with Governor Aregbesola but with the Civil Servants and people of Osun state who are at the receiving end . May God Almighty restore the lost glory of the State and may the souls of the dead Civil Servants and pensioners who died due to the irresponsibility of the government rest in perfect peace.

If all these were happening in Osun State, how come Ogbeni was popular enough to get re-elected?
my brother, I can't explain o. Prior to the election he was owing workers salary then. Yet they campaigned for him. Even if Aregbe owe them 1 year, they will still blame GEJ. I know Aregbe won't last a day in Lag. I don't know the kind of juju they do in KUBA grin. It seems to work for him

I actually took time to read through all these submissions. As I don't live in Osun State, I hope residents of Osun State and other stakeholders will come up with point by point analyses or counters of these submissions.

I hope Osun State realizes that they have gone far down the road to Economic Recovery. Some thing drastic must be done to bring back Osun State as it is being shown that State of Osun is almost financially or economically dead!

May God Bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria
May God help Osun State
I live in Osun. I took my time to read it before bringing it here. This is nothing but the truth.

OSUN STATE: HOW DID WE GET HERE?
Please note that the facts stated herein are verifiable and
the author will welcome all manner of feedbacks, while
being
ready to defend the facts and figures as stated. By the
enlightenment I am hoping to achieve, I believe Osun
people will
become capable of making more informed electoral
decisions in the future.
FINANCES
1. Aregbesola upon assumption of office increased the
Security Vote being paid monthly to the Office of the
governor from
250m naira to 500m naira. In the face of obvious
financial hardship in the country, he has continued
earning the same
amount without recourse to the state of the economy.
2. Ogbeni received around 3.14bn naira from the SURE-P
allocations within 2011 and 2015. This allocation was
paid to
facilitate special projects as stipulated by the SURE-P
guiding principles. These funds were neither utilized for
any
special projects nor were they properly accounted for.
3. Ogbeni Aregbesola has from the inception of his
administration refused to allow Local Governments
manage their own
allocations. The State Government has been doing the
sharing and dividing.
4. He claimed he raised Osun IGR to 1bn naira monthly
sometimes in 2012. It means Osun has made at least
36bn naira in IGR
between that time and now. The ends to which these
funds were utilized are yet unknown.
5. This administration abandoned the Free Trade Zone
Project of the immediate past administration thereby
failing to
complete a project that held enormous growth
potentials for our dear state.
6. Osun is currently owing $67million foreign debt one
of the highest in the country.
7. Osun currently has a domestic debt profile of 41.4bn
Naira being money owed banks and other financial
institutions.
8. Osun State under Ogbeni Aregbesola took a 30bn
Naira bond (a long-term loan) from the Security and
Exchange Commission
in 2013. This will mature for repayment in 2019.
9. Osun also took a 10bn naira Sukuk bond in 2014 with
a 16.75% interest.
10. The Osun State Government also owes a number of
contractors due to its various contractor financing
agreements. Major
in this category is the 17.1bn naira owed to Sammya
Nigeria Limited, the company handling the Osogbo-
Ikirun-Ilaodo
dualization project.
11. The figures above suggest that Osun now has a total
debt profile of something around 111.2bn Naira. This is
in light of
the fact that Ogbeni himself publicly declared that his
government earned 204bn Naira in the last four years.
This implies
that his government has a debt profile significantly more
than half his total earnings in four years.
12. The above explains why no bank is ready to loan him
money again. His earnings against liabilities does not give
much
hope for lenders.
EDUCATION
1. Fakunle Comprehensive High School, the pride of
Secondary School Education in Osun State has been
demolished and the
land sold to unknown investors for the purpose of
constructing a shopping centre. Sacrificing education for
monetary gains!
2. Opon Imo has been withdrawn from the possession of
the sparse population of Osun Students who got the
gadgets in the
first place due to deficiencies unknown to the public.
3. As against his noisy claims, it was not his
administration that commenced feeding of school pupils.
O’Meal was named
Home Grown School Feeding and Health Programme
under Oyinlola, with secretariat in Abere Osun State.
4. He unified School uniforms to create a large market
for Sam & Sara Nigeria Limited, owners of Omoluabi
Garment factory.
The unified uniforms has led to degeneration in school
discipline while parents are being made to buy sub-
standard single
pair uniforms at 1,750 and above! Where on earth does
all schools wear the same uniform?
5. As against the United Nations’ stipulation of thirty (30)
students to a teacher, Aregbesola merged Osun State
schools,
fusing a school Fakunle Comprehensive High School
Osogbo (with a population of up to 3000) into Osogbo
Grammar School.
6. Unity Schools Ejigbo which stood out as a model
government school in the country and even beyond has
been reduced to a
terrible shadow itself. The school now runs on day and
boarding, wears the same uniform with all other
secondary schools in
town and a reign of truancy has been established in that
school.
7. Aregbesola created the TEPO offices in the three
Senatorial District to oversee Schools under their district.
The heads
of these offices are at Permanent Secretary Ranks and as
such often constantly have a clash of authority with
Permanent
Secretaries of the Ministry of Education, TESCOM and
SUBEB.
8. Subventions to these schools are so heavily defaulted
that teachers resort to writing examination questions on
the board
and are forced to issue results on plain sheets of paper as
against the use of report cards. Funny it is, that at the end
of every session, you always have more than ten first-
position students per class since there will be no physical
evidence
to confirm such claims.
9. There is an extreme shortage of workforce in the
Teaching Service Commission; this forced the Permanent
Secretary to
withdraw all TESCOM teachers in Ministry Schools back
to TESCOM schools. As it stands, up to at least 14 subjects
are
without teachers in most Ministry-owned schools.
Example is Unity School Ejigbo.
10. Under Aregbesola, Osun disconnected from the
National Education standard and the state thereby runs a
3:6:3 method.
(Elementary School – Pry 1-3; Middle School – Pry 4,5 &
JS 1-3; High School – SS 1-3). This is applicable in no
other
Nigerian State.
11. Students who sat for external examinations this year
can only hope for a miracle as they have had close–to-
zero
academic engagement this session.
12. The UNIOSUN vision has been so bastardized due to
the failure of the State Government to effectively manage
the crisis
situation in the school. This has led to the sack of certain
principal officers including the Vice Chancellor and the
instability of the management and administration of the
school system.
13. The State Government took over the responsibility of
deducting monthly re-payments for staff cooperative
societies that
it recognizes some years back. For close to two years
however, the deductions made on behalf of the societies
have not been
remitted.
14. For the past two years, the State Government has not
remitted a single kobo of its own 5% contribution to the
Pension
Fund Managers of workers under the contributory
pension arrangement.
15. Worse still, for more than a year now, the State
Government has refused to remit the 5% contributions
of the workers
themselves which the State Government deducted from
their salaries on behalf of the Pension Managers.
16. The mega schools built in all the Local Government
headquarters has not been put to use since the
commencement of this
botched project. This means that the financial
commitments made towards these needless projects are
lying in waste!
ADMINISTRATION
1. The Aregbesola administration has abandoned the
principle of hierarchy in the appointment of Permanent
Secretaries and
Head of Service. The administration has resorted to the
use of some ‘kangaroo’ aptitude test for Senior Civil
Servants
which has allowed favouritism and unwholesome
practices where Junior Officers loyal to Ogbeni’s
administration are now
being lorded over their superiors.
2. The Aregbesola administration has so rubbished the
Local Government Administrative System by running this
very vital arm
of government with Executive Secretaries, a term alien to
the Nigerian Constitution. The set of Executive Secretaries
enthroned in 2011 have had their six-month tenures
renewed five times.
3. Osun has completely abandoned the principle of Due
Process in the Award of Contracts. The processes of pre-
qualification, tender and competitive bidding has been
completely disposed. Ogbeni virtually awards contracts
to cronies
majority of whom are from outside Osun State.
4. This administration demolished a strategic
administrative complex; the Old Governor’s office to
build a modern market
whereas there is land available in locations around the
said area.
5. Ogbeni renamed Osun State and began addressing a
federating unit under the Federal Government as ‘State of
Osun’. This
has led to ambiguity as external relations with Osun State
bear the constitutionally allowed Osun State and not his
local
State of Osun nomenclature.
6. Osun State Government now pays majority of its
contractors in cash, completely against the principle of
due process.
7. This government has refused to pay the severance
gratuities of political office holders that served under the
previous
dispensation despite knowing it is their constitutional
rights.
8. The Osun State Governor goes about in the helicopter
his administration purchased which he claimed was
meant for
security surveillance. This helicopter instead is being used
for his personal transport.
9. Taxes are being collected by unknown consultants
whereas the State has a Revenue Board in place which is
constitutionally saddled with the responsibility of
revenue collection.
10. Bola Ahmed Tinubu publicly declared at the unveiling
of the ‘Opon Imo’ that Kabir, the first son of Aregbesola
should
be commended for helping the State procure the multi-
billion naira gadgets. It means the Aregbesola
government deliberately
ran the affairs of the State as a nuclear family affair,
completely disregarding the principles of due process
and the laws
guiding Government Procurement.
11. Osun State Government embarrassed the collective
reasoning of Osun people by indiscriminately using
copyrighted
intellectual material on the Opon Imo gadgets without
prior permission from the copyright owners. This led to a
number of
embarrassing lawsuits.
INFRASTRUCTURE
1. Ogbeni’s administration awarded the re-construction
of Ejigbo-Ede via Ara; Ejigbo-Ede via Awo, Ejigbo-Oguro
and Ejigbo-
Iwo roads to Perfect Structures Nigeria Limited, also on a
contractor financing agreement at 3.5bn Naira. The
award was
done without due process but was given as a reward to
Remi Olowude for his support towards his election bid in
2007. The
project died upon the death of the awardee since proper
organizational structures were not in place in the first
place. God
rest his soul.
2. The use of such Lagos-imported contractors such as
WestMidlands Construction Company without the
normal due process of
pre-qualification, tender and bidding has also
successfully killed the Local Content approach that was
used by the
immediate past administration.
3. The Akoda-Gbongan dualization project terminating at
the Gbongan trumpet interchange has been ongoing for
three years
now. It is sad to note that no reasonable amount of work
has been done on this project to justify the billions that
has
gone into this phantom project.
4. The O’RAMP programme is an initiative of the Federal
Ministry Ministry of Works tagged ‘Rural Access and
Mobility
Project’ aimed at opening up the rural areas and
providing access. The allocations for the programme
being paid to Osun
State culminated into Aregbesola’s O’RAMP. The
programme is today dead.
5. The Dagbolu Industrial Project is a fake, a huge scam
and an insult to the consciousness of Osun people.
Bushes on that
site were not cleared let alone construction work
beginning. This is against the claims of Aregbe’s
government that work is
ongoing on that site.
6. This administration has woefully failed to maintain
major access roads. Examples are Ejigbo-Iwo, Osogbo-
Iwo, Osogbo-Ede,
Iwo-Oluponna, Iwo-Ikire, Osogbo-Ilobu-Ifon and many
others left in deplorable states.
7. All major projects awarded within the last four years
have remained uncompleted till date. Examples are:
Akoda-Gbongan
interchange, Osogbo-ikirun-Ilaodo dualization, Aje
International Market, Osogbo West Bypass and a host of
others.
8. Aregbesola further decided to fool our collective
reasoning when he embarked upon the block-wall
fencing of the 11.1km
expanse of land upon which the Ido-Osun aerodrome is
situated. Today, nothing is being heard of the Airport
project, just
the fence which signifies our wasted billions.
AGRICULTURE AND COMMERCE
1. We may want to ask ourselves today, Where is O’Beef?
Remember that programme that was supposed to raise
enough cattle
for Osun people to feed on? What are the successes
achieved so far?
2. Where are the farm settlements? What gains were
made from the settlements one of which was situated in
Ifeodan, Ejigbo
Local Government?
3. What interventions has the Osun State Government
given to farmers in the State in the last three years?
4. How far has this government gone in its promise that it
will revive the Cocoa Industry?
5. Where is the widely publicized O’Clean Cooking Gas
that was to be made from wastes?
6. Where is Osuwon Omoluabi today? Remember that
widely publicized scale that was to be introduced to
markets?
7. Where is our Osun State Trade Fair Complex? Yes,
demolished to give way for Aje International
Market….when will Aje
International Market begin to generate income for the
state?
8. What has happened to the promises by Ogbeni
Aregbesola to generate income for the state via the
abundant presence of
mineral resources in the State?
9. Who are the miners currently working in Ilesa? Were
they licensed by the State Government? Are they paying
tax at all?
MANPOWER
1. Osun State Government claimed it employs 20,000
youths in the O’YES scheme for each batch.
Unfortunately, this is a huge
lie from the pit of hell. Participants in the O’YES scheme
has not at any point in time exceeded 10,000. A quick
analysis
of the number of participants present in each Local
Government will give quick insight to this.
2. All Ministry Schools in the State are so understaffed
that they have to rely on the use of PTA teachers whose
salaries
are being sourced from parents. TESCOM and SUBEB are
not spared but they have survived better because they
have more hands
than their Ministry of Education counterparts.

Your car is obd 1.

Use a jumper pin to get the abs code.

You can Google how to use jumper pin to get Honda obd 1 codes. The connector should be on the right front passenger well. Its a blue connector. Under the dash.

Use an office pin to jump the connector and study the abs light. It will give a series of flashes.

Read more about this in Google.

NB. Honda bullet abs is a complete system....not just one part. Sensors, pump, and some other units (forgotten the name)

Get the code first before throwing parts
Thank You sir

Gurus please I need your help.
I have a Honda bullet, which I've been using for 3 years with no issues. I decided to change the ball joint last week after noticing the sound coming from ball joint anytime I make a turn. The sound is gone but I think the mechanic tampered with the ABS. Anytime I start the car, the breaks will be hard. After 10 seconds it's back to normal and the ABS light will be On. What could be the problem. Am afraid, I might have to buy complete ABS.

Fresh crisis appears brewing between labour unions
and Osun State Government following the rejection
of the 50 per cent of salaries paid by the
government into workers’ accounts.
The workers had on Monday announced the
suspension of the strike embarked upon since May
26 after signing a Memorandum of Understanding
with the state government.
But the Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress in
the state, Mr. Jacob Adekomi, while addressing
journalists on Tuesday, said they were rejecting half
payment of their salaries.
He said, “We are rejecting the payment of half
salaries because that was not what we agreed on.
All affiliate unions of the labour will meet later today
to deliberate on the issue. But those that have not
been paid at all can remain at home.”
Also, some local government workers told our
correspondent around 2pm on Tuesday that they
were yet to receive alert from their banks.
But the All Progressives Congress in the state has
appealed to workers to show understanding with the
government saying the balance of their salaries
would be paid very soon.
The Director of Publicity, Research and Strategy of
the APC in Osun State, Mr. Kunle Oyatomi, who
addressed journalists said the payment of 50 per
cent of the salary was inadvertently done.
“The 50 percent was already programmed. That
was done before the Memorandum of
Understanding was signed with workers.
“Unfortunately it is a communication gap. There
was no intention to pay the half salary and the
payment will not stop at payment of 50 per cent.
Government will pay all.
“We are appealing to the workers to show
understanding with the government. Their salaries
will be paid in full. It will be implemented soonest.”
The APC’s spokesperson had in a statement earlier
issued, rallied workers support for the
administration of Governor Rauf Aregbesola, saying
the workers should continue to support the
governor in his efforts to transform the state.
He explained that the nonpayment of the salary was
caused by corruption in the oil sector during the
administration of former President Goodluck
Jonathan.
The statement partly read, “It was therefore, totally
misplaced anger that was directed at Ogbeni Rauf
Aregbesola for the crisis. Those who sponsored
and propagated the misplaced anger did so out of
envy that Aregbesola was raising Osun above their
ignoble pedestal of impoverished ideas,” the party
declared.
“Now that it is open secret that PDP government led
by Goodluck Jonathan was the thief that stole the
nation broke, it calls for greater understanding from
both labour union and the workers to help the state
address the aftermath of this PDP crime against our
country.”
