Hey my people @Bellong,

Kindly advise on the payment system to use for Vetasses as this issue with Nigerian Banks. How do we make the payment Kind of urgent pls.

bellong:
@Ifexsco,

As a permanent resident, you can start a business if you want. The process of business registration is simple and straight forward. Go to Australian Taxation Office's (ATO) website, register for an ABN (Australian Business Number) just like an individual register for TFN.

Once you register for an ABN, you can start your business as you will then be charged tax as a business entity. It may not be that straight forward depending on the kind of business you plan to start but if it is buying and selling and other small businesses, the process is simple.

I may not be the best to issue advice as per business because my interest lies somewhere else. However, for every business, I know for sure that it is better to first understand your target market before jumping in. One of the best ways to make money in this country is to engage in government business through delivering social services which is what I am looking at.

You have to consider your interest, business appetite and knowledge before entering into the market. SO on what kind of business to do, I don't think anyone can offer advice to another on that as I do not know what you can do or where your interest lies but certainly you can start a business if you have the resources.

@bellong and other gurus on the POF matter when am I suppose to attach/ show the PO F as I am nominating NT?

I am a bit confused because I know after positive assessment and English test next step is EOI. Am I attaching all my POF during eoi or during Visa processing.

Another thing is when are we suppose to do the medical test and police character.

I heard you don't pay the visa fee until all this has been checked and accepted before you can pay, that payment is the last part.

I need all the clarification please.

Hello All,@bellong

Am back oh, to start on a fresh Page.

My hubby was given a -ve assessment by vetassess last year equate his qualification to AQF Advance diplomat now we have found another General Occupation could absolve him in by same accessing body. Now the question is: where do we start from? because Vetassess is still the body to do the accessing. Are we going to be under same case officer, are we submitting all our documents all over again, and is it possible for us to change our SOL different from what we were accessed before? Would appreciate if anyone could help us with answers as we want to get it right this time around....Oga Bellong i hail o..

Thanks you so much. We would see what we can do around it. the money no be YAM O!!!

SlowlybtSurely:

VETASSESS discriminates against schools from some countries using some sort of ranking. Most 4 year bachelor degrees from Nigeria will not be equated to their Australian bachelors. They only equate 4 year degrees from very few select Nigerian schools e.g, UI, OAU etc, to theirs. UNIBEN isn't even among, as i know a graduate of the school who had a negative assessment with VETASSESS . I doubt your school qualifies. And if you are assessing for an occupation where you need to have an Australian BSc equivalent, VETASSESS will not give a positive assessment.

The only way around this, in your case, will be to go for an occupation that requires a lower qualification or put in your MSc (if you have) and re-evaluate for same occupation you did. Also check if they can take away some years from your job experience to make up for the degree. Heard some assessing bodies do this.

bellong,

I do appreciate all your effort and i pray that all this would end in praise. The testimony would be very sweet.

awaits your findings so we know the next step.

bellong:
Jorgan,

How much are you paying?

@Mansamoussa,

I actually do not understand that route you are talking of. Your friend should be the best person to give you info since he introduced you to it.

However, the little I know about practising as a doctor is irrespective of the location (regional or metro), you can't practice except you are registered either partially or full with the medical board.

To get regional area deployment as noted by you, I am sure you must pass at least stage one of the exam.

@Stff,

Will ask someone who finished from your school and same department tomorrow how be got positive assessment, God willing.

bellong:

If people can be sincere with themselves, you will understand that this problem started since two years ago. It is an offshoot of a mismanaged economy and careless spending during the time of boom.

I really don't like discussing politics and economy because majority of Nigerians don't discuss issues affecting the country objectively. Ethnicity has beclouded too many people to analyse issues objectively. However, the current administration is not the reason for the dwindling Naira. Although, some of the policies seem to be crazy, they are to save the Naira from totally collapsing. How has Emefiele helped in reviving it?

Triggeredsam,

I don't think you will be permitted to register for evening classes. It is for citizens and PR holders. I am not completely sure though. Be sure that you will be allowed before making your plans towards that avenue.

Stff,

Which course did you study and from which university?

VETASSES is sometimes crazy about their assessment. It is not because your course is four years or five years. Many people got positive assessment despite studying a four year course. From the documents I am yet to lay my hands on, I think they have universities they assessed as equivalent to Australian Bachelors degree. How they arrived at that is what I can't tell.

Meanwhile, give them a call to ask for update on your appeal.

Sharonlass10,

She can declare her Waec alone if it will give her the admission. However, it is reasonable she also declare her BSc so she wouldn't have problem addressing gaps in her study.

Dear Bellong , and other gurus that can help,

We were given a negative assessment by vetassess last year giving and Associate rating instead of BSC (AQF 7) which we strongly believe we qualify (having gone through the AQF specification and criteria for Bachelor Degree).

we have ask our assessing officer assigned to our case to state clearly the basis of their assessment and advise us if there is any other supporting documents needed to be provided in order to substantiate the claims But up till now, we are yet to get any info from them.

Does anyone have any suggestion on how we can go about it?

pls help us carry on.
