sobanebari: You can select any school of your choice (anywhere in the world e.g. US, Canada etc), but they will advice you to choose from their selected institutions. I think they have some form of partnership with those institutions. Also, with respect to tuition fees, most of their chosen institution are reasonably price (at least compared to some other UK institutions like Oxford, Reading etc). For now they seem to have no partnership with schools outside UK. |

sobanebari: Aptitude Test * Some math questions (quite simple) * Some english questions * Some Computer related questions (networking, programming tools, data structures etc ...forgotten most of them) * If I remember correctly, some current affairs questions) Interview * 1 or 2 computer related questions. The question asked here may be different from person to person. I do not know if any 2 or more applicants were asked thesame computer science question. Anyway, lookout for questions on data structure, programming tools (e.g. compilers, debuggers etc), User Interfaces, Computer Architecture * 1 or 2 current affair or general question. An example of a general question is "define balanced diet" 1 Like |

Metalzoa: Thanks, but no need to tag me. I get updates about new episodes via Radar. This was the available medium through which I could appreciate you and Ezra effort. I don't have a Radar account (still don't need one yet), otherwise I would have made a comment/like about CRUDCAST over there. I don't post regularly on forums (even on nairaland). It's nice that you are spreading the love to the nairaland community. More power to your elbow. |

Programming / Heated/partially Funny Argument On Techcabal's Radar by shadowbox: 7:23pm On Oct 14, 2015 |
Hello developers, Check out the thread on techcabal's radar http://radar.techcabal.com/t/a-simple-way-to-search-wikipedia/2757 A heated/partially funny discussion is currently on going there. Little background about the Thread: A developer over there built a simple web app (and hosted it) using angularJS in 10 minutes (as a Proof of Concept). But other Devs found out that it was more of a clone work from a sample angularJS based web app that's already existing online. This lead to the argument of plagarism...But the developer of the web app is certainly #mouthed#....and he his defending himself..... [UPDATE] Just to wet your appetite a bit, given below is a post by the web app Dev defending himself ...What have you built tho? You can talk to me when you have contributed to a project like UBUNTU or have a reputation on hackthisite. I don't see how this post is bragging. If I show you some of my code, you will run out memory. Guess Babcock was wrong naming me Programmer of the year(this is bragging).... Finally, if you want to laugh little and learn one or two stuffs this evening, just check out the link. |

I was originally referring to the Coventry lady (Opeyemi Ogunlola), whose contact has been pasted here by: @Sleeksylvia Thanks. |

cuteokiemute: Hello, I was also awarded the scholarship too. Please do you have the contact details of the Consultant that gave a talk about Coventry university at the award ceremony? If yes, please let me know. I want to apply to Coventry University TO THE GENERAL HOUSE The award ceremony was ok. Thank God. NDDC management team basically planned series of talks/advice for the beneficiaries. I think 3 or 4 consultants gave speeches (but 2 specifically for Coventry University and University of West England). Also, according to the NDDC management team, the number of beneficiaries (MSc and PhD combined) for this year is 220. 1 Like |

Hello Developers, Has anyone tried out Windows 10 that was released in July 29th 2015 by Microsoft. If yes please share your experience so far on this thread. Preferably developer related experience. But a general review of the OS is very acceptable. P.S.: I would have shared my experience, except for the fact that I haven't tried it yet. |

okezman: I believe that the PhD list is already out. Those that applied for 2014/2015 may have already started their programs. I may be wrong about this. The best advice I can offer you is: Visit the PG school to inquire about the PhD list. OR If you have someone at UI, speak to him/her to help you get information from the PG school. |

mobolaji88: Yea they focused mainly on improving their existing products this year. Also, I think that by the next I/O we may be hearing more (maybe really good stuff) about Brillo and Weave - Internet of things is something that already has the potential to be the next tech wave after mobile. Also they haven't said anything so far in this I/O (to the best of my knowledge) about their self driving car project. I recently read in some article that they are already getting close to going commercial ( they are testing it out on roads in California). I may be wrong on this!. |

towbaynah: Provided that you have paid your school fees, when you login into the registration portal, you will see an Accommodation Request button. Click on it to display the request form. Print the Accommodation Request form. Fill in the necessary details, Then attach your Admission Letter and Signed Financial Clearance Form to the application and submit it at the PG Hostel (Abdulsallam Abubakar - its opposite Idia Hostel). Things to Note: 1. To get your signed financial clearance form, generate it by clicking on Financial Clearance button in the registration portal after logging in, and then print. Then you have to take this form to the Bursary/Cashier office in the PG school for the cashier to sign and stamp it. Also before the cashier will sign and stamp, you will be required to provide a copy of teller or the printed out report (from the bank) of the school fees you paid. 2. According to the hostel staffs collecting the form, they said the hostel is filled up, and that there is no need to submit your application. But if you insist politely, they might collect it, and tell you It doesn't guarantee you anything. |

masquellett:Just go ahead with the normal procedure of generating invoice to pay for your school fees at the www.pgsui.com/reg, after that, you should be able to proceed with your registration by logging in to thesame url www.pgsui.com/reg Please Remember that you should carry out the above steps only when: 1. You have paid your acceptance fee 2. You have been cleared by the PG school (Completed your clearance) 3. The PG have authorized you to go ahead to pay for your fees (probably by sending you an email) |

Dlastofmykind: I agree with you. This helps a lot if you are on a low data budget, since there are no video lecturers, but content on HTML and other web technologies (together with interactive pratice section to test your skill). But if you have enough data I think you'll learn alot faster and better with the Udacity's Intro to HTML and CSS https://www.udacity.com/course/intro-to-html-and-css--ud304, because the instructors are industry professionals, who have been in the business of web app development for while. UPDATE: I just re-checked Udacity. Not all the courses are free. You may have to enrol with a fee for some courses (i.e. the ones that have NanoDegree attached to it). But the course I recommended above "Intro to HTML and CSS" is free. 1 Like |

JavaPrince1: You don't pay to access these materials. They are video lectures by very sound lecturers from top universities in the world (i.e. in the case of coursera and EdX) and also very sound professionals in the field of technology (i.e. in the case of Udacity, Codecademy etc). The only time you need to splash out cash is if you want some kind of certificate (from them) for the course you took. But this is of course optional. |

Hello, For all those nairalanders that keep asking about learning how to program, I recommend you folks check out and consider using one of these Massive Open Online Course websites. They are becoming really juicy in terms of the content they offer. I believe that you can learn a great deal just by taking these courses for FREE. To name a few MOOC, we have 1. Cousera http://www.coursera This MOOC has a wide variety of courses in it. They courses for different subject not just computer science. They have courses for MUSIC, ARTS, Energy etc. The computer courses there are very juicy ranging from Beginner programming https://www.coursera.org/course/pythonlearn to android programming, even down to cyber security https://www.coursera.org/learn/cyber-security-domain which can help improve your hacking skills. They also offer other computer science courses. You can visit their course page to view them https://www.coursera.org/courses 2. Udacity https://www.udacity.com/ I haven't used this MOOC but the courses are also nice. They are focused only on technology related courses only. While coursera tends towards theories + pratical, Udacity dives right in to praticals. They offer introduction into programming, Developing mobile apps (mainly IPhone's IOS courses and Android), Developing Web apps (Front end web development, Back end web development) etc For the courses the offer, visit https://www.udacity.com/courses/all 3. EdX https://www.edx.org EdX is also nice. Its like coursera. They offer courses for different subject. I haven't used it yet. I can't say much about the strength of the computer courses there because I rarely visit the site. My top 2 choices are the ones listed above. But maybe you folks might find some nice courses you like. Visit https://www.edx.org/course to view all courses 4. Codecademy http://www.codecademy.com/ Even though I haven't used it, I believe this site mainly teach courses on INTRO INTO WEB APPS DEVELOPMENT ONLY. I think this is what the Andela Folks http://www.andela.co/ use in teaching their bootcamp students. 5. Khanacedmy https://www.khanacademy.org I don't much about them, but you can check them out. Just for fun!. So I hope some of the beginner programming questions have been answered. Just visit these site and learn about programming for FREE. Intermediate to Advanced tech guys can also sink their teeths into (1) and (2) above and learn some new things also. The only catch is that you need to have INTERNET ACCESS in order to download the lecture videos 2 Likes 2 Shares |

Please does anyone have info about whether late registration has started. If yes then how much? I started my registration some few days back, but had to pause to get accurate information about list of courses in my dept to use for course registration. As at yesterday(friday 15th may) when I logged in to complete my course registration, it redirected me to a page to generate an invoice (identical to the school fees invoice generation page). I haven't clicked on the button to generate the invoice yet. I just want to get more information first before taking any action. Please your comments on this. Thanks. |
