Hello beautiful people,

I am looking for a condo or a room apartment very close to the University of Manitoba. I’d appreciate any leads to getting one. Thank you

It means IRCC is actively working on your application.. you would receive an email but when you check there are no messages.
Exactly! Thanks.

What does a ghost update (email) mean in this study permit application? Anyone knows? Submitted my application yesterday.

You will not be able to work as a nurse if you don't have Canadian license. You may be able to work as a nurse assistant (depending on how desperate they are).

Thank you.

Yes, I was hoping that the current situation will give some exceptions to some extent. I was told by some students of UManitoba that it’s possible to work as an assistant due to the desperate need for nurses at this time. Thanks again, MissShakara

Hello Shammak

Yes, you can. Also do well to briefly make the VO understand the reason for that in your letter.

All the best.

Much appreciated

Practically every school except MUN. I'm not 100% sure because I haven't checked EVERY school in Canada but I know most schools don't require Nigerians to submit any English Language test.

Godsblessings

I would suggest you call the undergraduate admissions office and request to speak with the Registrar regarding that. I did that and it was "waived" although I had a different case. I have a Bachelor's degree and the Registrar also made me send my expired IELTS test reporting form (expired in January 2019). On my admission portal/self service, English Proficiency has been waived for me.

Like mcobex said, you can always try.

Hello Shammak,

I have gone through my previous post in response to your query and found I typed in a wrong word in the bracket. As corrected, its a work permit. Please, take note and sorry for any inconvenience.

However, a visit visa can as well suffice for applicants going for an internship, especially if its not a paid internship or voluntary and it could also depend on the eligibility of the applicant going for such program.

All the best.
Noted.

Thanks bro for your input

Acknowledged. I just did. If you have applied within 12 months then it means you aren't eligible to apply again for the work Permit exemption. I think at this point you need to contact the research institute and notify them. Perhaps they can have a solution for you.

JustMellow suggested the same.

I will do just that!

Thanks so much for your help.

Have a nice weekend.

Hello Shammak,

If you still need further clarification, you can as well contact the international office of the university, they would guide or advise you accordingly.

The research is less than 6 months so you can proceed with a visiting visa. Just ensure you have proper documentation to present when you apply.

Thanks bro

I just saw this

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/temporary-residents/foreign-workers/researcher-exemption.html

I think I need a work permit. I was exempted from applying for work permit last time and I cannot be exempted again unless it is after 12 months.

Please go through the link (if you are not busy) and let me know what you think.

Thanks for your help bro

Good morning fam.

I appreciate everyone for their contributions on this platform, I have been a silent reader for some time now and I must admit that I have learned a lot. Thank you so much.

I have a question and I would appreciate your help.

Last year in July, I was in Canada on a temporary resident visa (visitor) for a research internship. The research internship was for a month. This year, I got a scholarship from the Québec Government to undergo a research internship for 4 months from May/June.

However, I am confused on which visa to apply for. While I was reading the requirements on canada.ca of all the temporary residence visas (visit, study and work permit), I stumbled on a line which got me confused "who has not worked in Canada under this exemption in the last 12 months" (I attached a screenshot of the page). Here is the link to the page

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/work-canada/permit/temporary/need-work-permit-work.html

I worked as a research intern (with a $1000 scholarship from my supervisor) from July 15 to August 9, 2019. Now, I plan to go again as a research intern who would get stipends from the Québec Government for 4 months (within the said 12 months). In this case, which of the temporary resident visas is best for me?

NB. The research internship will be at a University in Québec and I applied/will apply for the visa from Vienna, Austria.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

However, if this is not the right place to ask, kindly point me to the right direction (I have asked the same question on tourist and student visa thread though).

Hello Shammak,

Its not always about the possibility, but the productivity. Its better advised to apply from one's home country to stand a good chance and also being able to show home ties.

Good luck!

Thanks so much bro for your advice.

Extremely complicated question. There are so many rules and policies regarding applying outside your home country. But non the less it's possible. Do your in depth research on it.

Thanks so much bro
I read on some online forums that it's possible. However, I haven't seen something like that on cic.gc.ca
Reason for asking the question here.

You can't. You need a US visa to enter US. You can't even transit from Canada through US to another country on less you have US visa.
New York (LGA) is about one and half hours from Toronto (YYZ)
