If Tunibu decides to remove the subsidy, it would make him seem like the most incompetent president ever. But I know how brave Tunibu is, and I believe no amount of criticism will stop him from pushing Nigeria forward. Thanks.

Removing the subsidy is their main demand because the people behind this protest are the ones benefiting from it, and they want it back to drain Nigeria even more.

This decision is the right move to improve Nigeria. We've already seen how he increased the allocation by 41%. I can't understand what these people are thinking when they say Timangu is on the wrong path.

To make Nigeria better, everyone needs to make sacrifices. What you eat is your responsibility than the government's. Let that really sink in.
but the govt is still paying subsidy, Daniel bwala confirmed it, if the govt is still paying subsidy then he is still paying the cabal. 2 about the 41 percent increase in allocation, what then is the benefit if it can't get you the same stuff you could buy due to the devalued currency, 3 the president in his earlier speech said the reason for subsidy removal is to stop borrowing, but yet he has borrowed several billions of dollars. Your gaslighting is not working, and it makes no sense.

But Oby Ezekwesili said protesters are winning?

OK, she meant those destroying and looting in Kano, while her own people are in their homes waiting to enjoy any victory achieved like they enjoyed with Ojota protest in 2012.

Northerners will "win their cities" to the delight of Oby who is resting at home.
"waiting to enjoy any victory achieved like they enjoyed with Ojota protest in 2012." Wtf the same ojota protest that brought in buhari, tinubu and apc, what victory have Nigerians enjoy from APC? The way you Ronu folks reason ehnn, no one among you guys have a brain that functions properly, I have never seen any political movement where everyone go just mumu finish like in the APC, nobody's brain functions

I could have sworn Nairaland said it would deal with people posting ethnic hate and baiting.
it is definitely going the Rwanda route, it a sad reality APC has dealt a terrible blow to Nigeria's fragile unity we had under pdp.

A classic example of what Garba was talking about below. Let me go and share that recording on his twitter post and that of Arewa Twitter Connect.

0.33 seconds. an Ibo man brought up in the North on a twitter space below speaking Hausa to energize the abokis to arise and destroy their own lands.

this narrative is not gonna fly, Ronu swines are so pathetically stupid, was it now sowore who fixed August 1 as protest date, before now we were even aware that the north was the region who wanted the protest so badly, Farooq kperogi and shehu sani even attested to that, that the north is trying to remove tinubu, yet you cowards cannot even face the north. Those of us from the south south have now seen your true colours, so pathetic.

Igbo has always been on the fence. That's why it will be very difficult or impossible for an Igbo man to become the President of this nation or any Nigeria to trust an Igbo man,Imagine all d protest going on in almost every part of the country, even kastina, the home to buhari came out to show their grievance on bad government, osum state too came out to protest too, despite been the home to Mr president and other states, but no state in the easthern part of the country participated in ongoing nation wide protest, this is very bad from my Igbo brodas..d hardship is everywhere,we all need to speak in one voice to make Nigeria a better place for we all....
but when they do speak up, they get to take the entire blame, endsars protest is being blamed on they by the Ronu folks, I support the action of the SE on this.

Massacre with no single photo or video... The victims family still never come out to say pim.

wetin concern me and tollgate, I am not even igbo, if that is your thought, just a witness to the foolishness and bigotry of the Ronu miscreants, same way you guys pinned this protest on the south east you have a lot of smoke for your imaginary enemy, when in fact the north is the one protesting, I know you all wished it was the south east protesting and destroying thing, of course by then it would be very easy to just continue the narrative of hate against the igbos, but now you can't even utter a word about the north, isn't that cowardice? When you try to play propaganda, or try to get the rest of Nigeria to join you in your hate against the igbos I don't think you understand how foolish it makes you all look. This whole trying to get the rest of the ethnic groups in Nigeria to join you in hatred against the igbos is not working, it really isn't, if there is anything you have been able to achieve is the fact you have just shown the rest of Nigeria how toxic and hate filled you are.

The same thugs and traditionalist conducted today's protest and it was so peaceful. Even though some people are crying around.

the violence in Lagos during the endsars began after the lekki tollgate massacre, before the tollgate killing protesters were on the street for over two weeks yet no violence protest, sanwo- olu and the military learnt their lessons, if they should use force the same result would happen, as usual Ronu miscreants will always be delusional same way the Ronu miscreants always accused a certain ethnic group of behind this protest, when in reality the north is mainly responsible, yet Ronu cowards can't even utter a word.

You see why many of them don't like representing Nigeria?

Have you wondered why they always go for foreign players even though some of them can't do better than local players? We seriously yearn for a good leader who will u do all these nonsense.
this is even worse just when I thought it was just administrative negligence. Hmmm corruption this is where the EFcc and other anti corruption agencies ought to be active, but they will pretend like they have no idea about this news. What a country.

Disappointing but not new, corruption has dealt a heavy blow to Nigeria, that we can't even get even the simpliest of things right, the sports administration will then come with the blame game and an excuse for their failure, and then everyone goes home, and then it repeats itself, nobody pays for nothing, nobody is held accountable.

Am happy seeing other countries protesting against bad governance because it's only Nigeria they will classify as d worst in the world .

Yet they family understand that economy inflation and d likes is a global problem ask sudan, somalia, libya, Kenyans , Bangladesh, Morrocco, UK, US. Etc

I know one fool will still quote me that Nigerian own is d worst and yet he is still living in Nigeria

So what am saying in essence is that our problem in Nigeria is not about party because same set of people are still rolling us since 2009 look at amaechi again decamping to APC 😒
..
It's not about the person in power , even if obi was there we might experience worst ,

ECONOMY WOWS IS A GLOBAL ISSUE NOT NOT LIMITED TO NIGERIA ALONE PLEASE TRY TO SAY GOOD THINGS ABOUT YOUR COUNTRY NOT EVERYTHING YOU POST ON THE INTERNET THAT NIGERIA IS THIS AND THAT WHICH OTHER COUNTRIES ARE NOT ODING THEIRS.

don't forget even if there is war or division today as people are shouting I and u are not safe we are all experiencing it and we should just endure and shun protest in any form because even if u die in the long run people will still flourish buy cars and build houses yet in the economy u are complaining .

All the same, I thought the protest was against economic hardship in the country, why am I reading protest against bad government?

This is more than enough proof to know this protest is being sponsored by people who have hidden agendas.
is economic hardship not a result of bad governance?

Foreign Affairs / Re: I Will Do Everything To Defeat Trump & His Extremist Agenda - VP Harris by Shattuck(m): 1:04am On Jul 22
Dogalmighty17:
Kamala Harris, already endorsed by Joe Biden will be in a formidable position to win. Only she out of a possible number of other candidates will be able to immediately access the over 300 million dollar war chest of the Biden/Harris campaign. US campaign finance laws prohibit the Biden campaign to transfer that money to anyone else.

Bill and Hillary Clinton, Barrack and Michelle Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Senate leader Schumer have all endorsed Harris candidacy.

A large slew of celebrities and heavy pocketed donors will also likely line up behind her.

Kamala may pick Gov. Gavin Newsom of California or Ben Shapiro of Pennsylvania as her vice candidate.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR TRUMP?
Trump so far has only released a limp listed video attacking Harris for her laughter and the situation at the border. Donald Trump very much preferred to run against Biden. Having to face Harris complicates a lot for Trump.

Trump a known racists will struggle to not make racial attacks against Kamala. He cannot help himself but make racist attacks. This will drive more voters away from him.

The overturn of Roe vs Wade by supreme court judges Trump appointed, already has women all over America furious. These women will come out massively for Harris. Trump knows this that is why at the recent RNC convention, he made sure every anti-abortion rhetoric was eliminated.

Harris is 55 and Trump is 78. All the insults Trump has been hurling against Biden due to his age, will now turn a sharp focus on Trump. He can't keep his thoughts together nor follow his statements in a way that makes sense. Trump is also suffering from dementia. He has refused to allow any of his medical reports be released.

Harris was a prosecutor. She will be able to hammer home the fact that Trump is a convicted felon. That will not be a good look for trump. Will the US elect a criminal into office? Time will tell.

Overall, this election will be the most consequential in American history.
I doubt she would pick Gavin newsom, they are both from California, I think she would want to spread out, I think she stands a better chance at the polls than Biden, if powerful and institutional democrats rally round massively, Kamala is also good with words, with her charisma she can also win over the younger generation of voters, her California hometown population too, she stands a chance it would be reckless for anyone to write her off
