TV/Movies / The New Top Ten Nigerian Tv Commercials by shola4sure(m): 12:48pm On Dec 08, 2009
10 NOKIA N SERIES – different people and places
Wasn’t that thrilling but had good quality and must have taken forever to put together as with all other NOKIA adverts (ads). One can tell at first glance at any that NOKIA ad that they are not produced for the Nigerian market alone.

09 ETISALAT – elite world
Clean! That’s the one adjective I can conveniently use to qualify this. Drives home the point and makes the person watching interested.

08 ADAM AND EVE – Jenifer / Sulia
Though not fitting nor real (can a ‘Jenifer” character really afford to shop at Adam and Eve?), it’s the picture quality and the fact that a lot of people still haven’t gotten over the ‘Jenifer’ character played by our very own FUNKE AKINDELE.

07 COWBELL VITARICH – smart boy
Though one is easily put off in the first few seconds of this ad, resisting the urge to make use of the remote control will get you to like it as it continues. Here the boy telling his mother’s friend what each vitamin does to the body makes you want to go get one.

06 QUATAR AIRWAYS – (ALL OF THEM)
Short, simple, nice and tantalizing are adjectives associated with this one. As short as each of them are (there are about six and still counting), the crystal clear message passed is – “come fly QUATAR AIR because you are sure to have an experience you won’t forget in a hurry”

05 CLEAR LINE HEALTH INSURANCE – hospital emergency
Though of a poor quality, it’s the message and the way its being passed across that lands this ad in this curveted position. It’s a hospital scene and an accident victim is rushed in. instead of the usual protocol of police report and the likes, the doctor sees his CLEAR LINE health insurance card and attends to him on time. Good stuff.

04 MCVITIS DIGESTIVE – wheat talk
Quite a brilliant work I must say. Two strands of wheat rejoicing that they are sure to be in MCVITES DIGESTIVE since it now costs just N120 is a nice idea. The Nigerian flavor it has also makes it one of a kind.

03 POWER HORSE – face the storm.
When we watch adverts, we know a lot of the messages are lies but we still watch waiting to see if we still can be made to believe the lie and get entertained at the same time. The only series of ads that has been consistent with making us believe the lies when they are so glaring are POWER HORSE. Imagine, how can someone take an energy drink and feel strong enough to face a violent storm? Still, am sure to buy the product because of the ad

02PAMPERS – baby dance
The charm of the baby arrests you attention first. Then you get the message which is passed well and the baby’s dancing steps thrills you the more. Well, this is nothing short of a good job.

01 HARP LAGER – our friend’s promotion
The first time I saw this ad, I missed the company of my friends immediately. Just so you have not seen it, this ad will be reviewed next week or you can visit my blog so you can go sit in front of your TV immediately to catch a glimpse of it. This was well done with very good scripting. The actors were au-natural and the idea is original. Ha! I wish I could have HARP LARGA with my close friends. (I so hope my pastor don’t get to read this)
