Politics / Your Apointee Today Is Same Man You Called"a Thief"3 Yearsago-pdp To Kwara Gov't by Sholyments(m): 6:00am On Sep 11, 2023 |
September 11, 2023. Press Statement GOVERNOR ABDULRAHAMAN OWES KWARA PEOPLE EXPLANATIONS OVER CHOICE OF COMMISSIONER IN CHARGE OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS Barely six days ago, the Abdulrahman-led Apc government of kwara State announced inauguration of members of the state executive council (SEC) in fulfilment of section 192(1) of the 1999 constitution. The decision to appoint these commissioners , which is already belated , was taken after three months of prolonged public condemnation for an unjustifiable delay - which, accoridng to public opinion, suggests that the man who had unmeritoriously secured his second term in office appeared unprepared for the job. The PDP in kwara state, after reviewing the membership composition of the commissioners as announced by the governor, is utterly appalled to discover the inclusion of one Alhaji Abubakar Abdullahi Bata, who was appointed to oversee the ministry of local government and chieftancy affairs for the state. For the record , Alhaji Abdullahi Batta was the executive chairman, Kaiama Local government, who, alongside fifteen other council chairmen, were sacked by the Abdulrahman-led government after they were indicted by the Yakubu Danladi-led Assembly for misappropriating N33billion fund belonging to local governments in kwara state . Kwarans would recall that our party, the People's Democratic Party, at that time, raised alarm against the decision of government, describing it as revengeful and unconstitutional , but all our lamentations fell on deaf hears as governor Abdulrahaman did not only proceed in the chairmen's suspension but also handed them over to anti graft agency in confirmmation of his personal conviction that those chairmen are compicit of the said fraud It is interesting to note that when the suspended chairmen were asked to report at the EFCC office , on the behest of Governor Abdulrahaman, our party position was that the government was not sincere with her pretentious claim of fighting corruption but only intimidating those chairmen in a bid to force them to join the ruling All Progressives Congress. Although our submission was quickly rebuffed by the governor , who, insisted that Abdullahi Batta and his colleagues are theives and they would be made to account for mismanagement of the said N33billion LG fund. But in a dramatic twist of fate, the same Abdullahi Bata, the then local government chairman of Kaiama, whom the Governor sacked for misappropriating the local government fund, is now appointed to overseas the sixten local governments areas of the state, following his defection to the ruling APC. How do we explain that the same government that indicted Abdullahi Bata of misappropriating Kaiama local government fund just 3 years ago will now made same man , the commissioner over the 16 local government areas of Kwara. This is a very serious question that calls for concern of every Kwarans irrespective of party affiliations As a party that holds the future of kwara as top in her agenda, we call on concerned citizens, civil society organizations, the media and all patriotic Kwarans to hold Abdulrahaman's government accountable for its actions. The government , both the executive and the legislative arms must explain to kwara people whether : 1. It is true that the incumbent commissioner for local government and Chieftaincy affairs is the same Kaiama Local government chairman that was indicted for the N33billion local government fund fraud or 2. The Abdulrahman-led government is a liar to have, in 2019 framed those council chairmen for crime they did not commit Now that their river is dried up, kwarans must have seen where their crocodile is sleeping. As a responsible party, we are not concluding yet but await clarifications for those knotty issues from the apc-led government or we will be forced to conclude that this government is primarily recruiting skilled and notorious thieves to sensitive government institutions with an intention to coordinate looting of Kwara's patrimony for onward laundering to foreign countries where private refinery project is being funded , as being rumoured in some part of the State. Signed: Olusegun Olusola Adewara (Sholyments) State Publicity Secretary, Kwara PDP

Politics / Kwara:intimidated By Oloriegbe's Achievements, Gov. AA Shun NHIA Commissioning by Sholyments(m): 9:56pm On Feb 21, 2023 |
Intimidated by Oloriegbe's Achievements, Abdulrazaq refuses to attend NHIA Kwara Office Commissioning ...Don't replace me with an OND holder whose only strenght is money- Oloriegbe urges constituents Governor Abdulrahaman Abdulrazaq avoided public embarrassment today as he refused to attend the commissioning ceremony of National health insurance authority Secretariat complex , an edifice facilitated by the incumbent Senator, Dr Ibrahim Yahaya Oloriegbe as part of his achievements as Senator representing Kwara central district . The commissioning ceremony, which recorded presence of the Chief of staff to Presdent Muhammadu Buhari, Nigerian Senate President, Ahmad Lawan and top stakeholders in Nigerian health sector took place at the newly constructed Secretariat complex , Fate area of Ilorin today . Sources at the Government house who spoke on condition of anonymity confirmed to this medium that although, the Governor was officially advised to register his presence at the ceremony, but turned down the advised over what he described as attempt by Senator Oloriegbe to outshine him . The Governor was said to be intimidated over the achievements recorded by Oloriegbe, especially as he controls volume of allocations as a state Governor and yet could not lay claim to any project as magnificent as this . Another reason for the governor's deliberate absence, according to the source , is the fear that the main opposition in the state, PDP may take advantage to mock the Governor , whose almost four years is yet to commission any tangible project capable of drawing important dignitaries such as presidents Chief of staff to kwara The PDP has continued to criticised the Abdulrazaq's led government in Kwara for her failure to commission project despite huge revenue inflow to the state since 2019 Meanwhile, Senator Oloriegbe has called on Kwara central people to ensure they do not settle for moneybags politicians in the forthcoming elections, noting that the nhia is part of the legacy projects facilitated by him as chairman senate committee on Health. He said intelligent, track record, experience, not money, are what is needed to attract dividends of national assemtbly for the Constituents. He therefore urged constituents to shine their eyes by voting for candidate with sure pedigrees and not those parading only money without requisite intellectual capacity capable of bringing dividends of national assembly to the people

Politics / Kwara: Gov. Abdulrahaman, apc Suffer Huge Rejection In Kwara North by Sholyments(m): 10:44pm On Jan 05, 2023 |
Kwara Northerners Reject Ramoni , declared apc-led govt as Failure RAMONI RALLY GONE WRONG IN EDU LG AS YOUTHS REVOLT AGAINST APC GOV'T *...Say Edu people were used for Otoge struggle but ended up been dumped and stranded* Youths of Edu LG ,who in their hundreds participated in the rally organised to canvas support for Abdulrazaq's second term bid , today turned the rally around and passed vote of no confidence on the government of Mallam Abdulrahaman Abdulrazaq, noting that the APC leadership deceived their people for 2019 Otoge struggles and later dumped them stranded while the Governor and his appointees are enjoying government largesse The APC rally , which was organised by Appointees of Governor Abdulrazaq to fake popularity for him in Edu LG, was attended majorly by hired politicians from ilorin and other parts of kwara but decorated as Edu LG rally to support AA second term . Troubles started when the local youths sighted them gathered to kick off the rally. The youths quickly mobilised themselves, came out in large numbers to confront the organisers of the rally thay Edu people habe rejected Mallam Abdulrahaman Abdulrazaq and his appointees, whom they accused of using government money to snatch their wives and girlfriends . The youths who lamented their ordeals in courts said they have rejected Mallam Abdulrahaman Abdulrazaq second term bid because to them, he has failed the people of Edu who laid down their lives to bring him and his failed party to government They also carried several placards with inscriptions to demonstrate their anger Some of the inscriptions read: "Gov. Abdulrahaman Abdulrazaq is a Failure , Insh Allah, No second term for failure. "Ramoni, we are tired of your failed promises ". "We are tired of going to court after using us against PDP for their political gains " The youths, who are mostly apc members also addressed press in their local dialects , lamenting how Abdulrazaq government has failed Edu people and declaring vote for no confidence on the Governor and his cabinet members. This is an unprecedented rejections for Mallam Abdulrahaman Abdulrazaq and his party in Kwara north. It is also an indication that Kwarans have seen through all the lies and propaganda used in 2019 to hoodwink them against the PDP's administration.

Politics / It's Sad Kwara Governor Chose An OND Holder Over Senator Oloriegbe - DG NILDS by Sholyments(m): 7:26am On Nov 22, 2022 |
#KwaraCentral2023: It's sad Kwara Governor , Abdulrahaman, Dropped Senator Oloriegbe, a Medical Doctor, for an ordinary OND holder - DG NILDS, Prof. Suleiman Professor of Political Science and Director General of the national institute of Legislative studies , (NILDS), Professor Abubakar Suleiman has described as a sad development, the inability of current Kwara central senator, Yahaya Oloriegbe to scale through the apc primaries which have scuttled his bid to return as the Senator for the 10th national assembly. Recall that incumbent Senator Oloriegbe lost out to Mallam Salihu Mustapha, in a controversial APC Primaries allegedly maneuvered by Governor Abdulrahaman to favour Salihu Mustapha over the incumbent Senator Oloriegbe .Before the fraudulent APC primary,Mallam Salihu Mustapha had aspired to be national chairman of the All Progressive Congress, APC , before he was prevailed upon by party cabals to steps down for Abdullahi Adamu, the incumbent national chairman. The NILDS DG, who said the choice of Governor Abdulrahaman Abdulrazaq to pick Mustapha over Oloriegbe, whom he described as highly influential and intellectual criticised the substitution of a medical Doctor with with Mustapha, whom he described as an ordinary OND holder with zero Legislative experience, noting that sacrificing experience and capable lawmakers on the altar of politics will always have grave consequences for the region they represent. Professor Suleiman made this known during a paper presentation titled: ‘High turnover of lawmakers: Impact and way forward’ during the 2022 Press Week organized by the House of Representatives’ Press Corps’, Professor Sulaiman, who observed that politics should be about service to the country and not short route to accumulating personal wealth submitted that “Legislature has a major role to stem corruption in the country, thereby helping to promote accountability and good governance that will deliver maximum democratic dividends to the vast majority of Nigerian citizens.” The former minister during the Monday presentation also expressed concerns over the roles of State Governors leading to a high-turnover rate of Legislators across the country. Professor Sulaiman averred that the high turnover rate does not only disrupt legislative process and activities but also do not ensure continuity between one session of the Assembly and its succeeding regimes, as well as stall timely passage of critical bills such as Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) for over 15 years. Citing an examples of Kwara Governor, Mallam Abdulrahaman Abdulrazaq who chose an OND holder , Salihu Mustapha, to an incumbent Senator Ibrahim Yahaya Oloriegbe, who's the chairman, Senate Committee on Health and a medical consultant , described the action of Kwara Governor as retrogressive and unwarranted. “When I was talking about Executive, one of the most vibrant senators today is Oloriegbe from Kwara central but he’s not coming back again because Kwara state Governor doesn’t like his face. When you look at Senators that have the highest honour of bills, Senator Oloriegbe is one of them in the 9th Assembly but despite that performance, the Governor said I don’t like him so he’s not going back." “The Governor instead, gave it to a lesser person. He (Oloriegbe) is a Medical Doctor and Chairman of the Senate Committee on Health and now you are giving to another person who is an OND holder. So, when you look at it critically, where are we heading to? It’s a sad development,” Professor Suleiman lamented that the current trend is a drawback for us as a country in terms of governance, funding, wasting of resources, and loss of manpower of lawmakers that know the job. That has been the recurring decimal in the last 23 years, and more worrisome is this year. He maintained that “incapacitation of the Legislature in Nigeria through a high turnover of legislators, four years interval and inadequate funding coupled with deficiencies of enabling laws, have made our practice of democracy to be less development-driven He also observed that most of the experienced Senators and members of the House of Representatives that are not coming back to the Upper and Lower Chambers “is on account of executive rascality and that must stop. “In National Assembly or Legislature, we talk about ranking. If you are doing rotational, your Constituency will never produce Principal Officers. When you are not a ranking, except you use the power of Akpabio. What Akpabio did to accede to the leadership of the minority that time which is uncommon, everything about Akpabio is uncommon. According to him, “In terms of right to that constituency; they have lost, just as we lost in Kwara central, they have lost too in the Yobe North because we need experience even when it comes to the issue of intervention funds, in terms of constituency project they have lost.” In the bid to correct the negative narratives, the NILDS accounting officer underscored the need for the Parliament to “engage with policy and other technical issues routinely presented to the Parliament rather than just being loyal candidates to party warlords or Governors. “There is, therefore, need for rigorous overhaul of the nation’s recruitment process into the parliament. While it is possible from time to time for the democratic process to inject new people into the Legislatures, non-Executive interference and other extraneous factors in the selection of legislative candidates can protect legislative terms and results over the long term and thereby guaranteeing institutional development and capacity building. “The legislative arm of government must be strengthened through financial and administrative autonomy. The over-dependence of most state Houses of Assembly on funding from the Executive makes them susceptible to manipulation and executive control. Most State Houses of Assembly have not been able to perform their constitutionally assigned roles of oversight on the executive because the leadership of such houses is mere appendages of the executive. “That is why the issue of autonomy for the legislature needs to be re-emphasized. A situation where parliament would go cap in hand to source funds must come to an end. The clamour must be intensified, and it must not be the responsibility of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) alone. The press must also get involved because we all bear the brunt of this anomaly.” Going forward, he canvassed for an amendment to the 1999 Constitution, either by prescribing more years for the legislative tenure or stem the incursion of the retired Governors and other executives into eroding the independence of the legislature. The legislature is too important to be the retirement home of Governors and other Executive bigwigs. All efforts must be put in place to change this trend,” he urged. Also corroborating the NILDShelmsman, the Chairman, House of Representatives Press Corps, Ms. Grace Ike observed that the theme for this year’s event is apt owing to the 2023 general elections that will birth a new Assembly. According to her, “Since the return to democracy in 1999, the country has continuously witnessed a high turnover of legislators every election cycle. As Journalists covering the National Assembly, we are set to witness the highest turnover of Lawmakers in the 2023 election and this is a cause to worry about. “Obviously, about 70- 80 percent of lawmakers will not make it back to both the federal and State Assemblies, which is quite worrisome and the adverse effect resulting to loss of institutional memories, experience and relegation of competency to the background among other issues. “As we all know, Democracy cannot exist without the legislature hence the need for a critical stakeholders’ summit on the adverse effects of high turnover of lawmakers: the good and the bad. For us in the Press Corps who have been covering the parliament for decades, we will continue to analyse and educate the public on its advantages and disadvantages.” In his remarks, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila who was represented by Deputy Majority Leader, Hon. Peter Akpatason reiterated the 9th Assembly’s resolve towards supporting “Nigerian people, to serve the Nigerian people, and to make and support laws that will continue to protect the interest of Nigerians and provide for Nigerians the kind of leadership that is required. “I am sure you saw what happened during the ASUU crisis the role played by the speaker of the people, those are the kind of things that this Assembly pays so much attention to and emphasis so much. “To ensure that at any point in time, when intervention is needed we are there for the people and we cannot do this without your continuous support. You have been there for us and you have supported us in every way, we appreciate this and wish to continue to partner with you in every way that we can so that you can also do your job efficiently.” 1 Share

Politics / Kwara Central 2023: Omolúàbi The Talk Of The Town - Oniyere by Sholyments(m): 11:58am On Nov 02, 2022 |
By Abdulsalam Oniyere After I read piece written by Comr Tajudeen Habeeb Omoluabi I was moved and dedicated to put my pen from where he ends to describe what it takes to be an Omolúàbi and the big ideas as the manifestation he carries. Mall. Bolaji Abdullahi's prowess and his many characteristics that describe much been an Omolúàbi. what it takes and how to proffer it. After the unveiling of his Slogan (Big Ideas) many Kwarans particularly Kwara central indigenes have the worries on what basic thing the Big Ideas would be impacted on people's lives. And what Mall. Bolaji thinks to come up with such Slogan as campaign begins. For so many reasons, Omolúàbi has many meanings in yoruba adage also different meanings with different perspectives basically to individuals and groups. In couple of months ago, people of Kwara central have been worried of about the (Big ideas). what it means and how it concern in this present situation of the country. For fact checking, the Big Ideas of a thing is not new in the ears of elites even what the Omolúàbi is up to. A Big Idea refers to core concepts, principles, theories, and processes that should serve as the focal point of curricula, instruction, and assessment. Big Ideas reflect expert understanding and anchor the discourse, inquiries, discoveries, and arguments in a field of study. Don't be afraid of yourself shadow Mall Bolaji Abdullahi is coming with the expression with new things that will give another dimension which would benefit the people of his constituency. There is nogainsaying to the fact kwara and Nigeria as a whole facing big challenges that only people of ideas can proffer solution. The word Big Ideas would be sold to all Nigerians to drive out a reasonable and transmissional dividends of democracy to the Kwara central and Nigeria as a whole via a purposeful legislation and masses friendly bills. My Égbon, Tallest also gives overview about the mega rally by Ubandawaki ward for solidarity support for her son and one of them whom they see in the rain and in the sun. the solidarity rally which led by Mallam himself from Pakata roundabout to Alangua Ubandawaki house for blessing and continued the movement to Alore community from there down to Ubandawaki ward meeting venue. Howe ver, on that very day of the rally, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi demonstrated his physical strength, thus signifying his readiness for the job. "The present moment is filled with joy and happiness. If you are attentive, you will see it." -- Thich Nhat Hanh For the strength and capacity to represent Kwara Central senatorial at the red chamber, Think Omoluabi is the best for the tasking job. Politics / Kwara: Ajuloopin Is Wasting His Time, Living In Self Foolery- Sholyments by Sholyments(m): 1:25pm On Oct 30, 2022 |
..He should Explain to Constituents how N70million Campaign Fund Dissappeared under his watch before seeking another votes Sholyments I learnt with laughter, how the outgoing House of Representatives member representing, Irepodun, Isin, Ekiti andOke-Ero, Honorable Raheem Tunji Olawuyi Ajuloopin has constituted his campaign council and made the list published online . I laughed because even with failure staring at Ajuloopin on his face , he's still living on perpetual self foolery occassion by the feeling that federal might will once again assist him to secure backdoor electoral victory . This is a disservice to himself and his poor followers who await his monthly stipend Ajulo is only living in self denial , deep in his mind, he knows our Rep mandate at this time should go to Ekiti axis of the Constituency after the Igbominas have used the office since last 15years . This is what made him insisted on getting the Senatorial ticket of his party before he lost at the primaries to Lola Ashiru. Up till now, Ajuloopin has not explain to Constituents the 70milliom Naira campaign fund Alhaji Lai Mohammed accused him of running away with during 2018 bye elections. This was Alhaji Lai statement *"I want him to explain to Nigerians what happened to the N70 million that Olawuyi Ajuloopin, kept and refused to give us during the 2018 bye-election” 3 years down the line, Ajuloopin hasn't got any answer, but he's constituting campaigns council, he must be thinking all constituents are fools Therefore, Ajuloopin owes us explanation how this Huge money grow wings under his possession and disappeared, a man who allegedly run away with 70million naira campaign fund of his party should not be trusted with our Mandate again in 2023 The funny thing Ajuloopin did to expose his ignorance is enlisting Chief Omogbenle Adeyemi, a man he reootedly robbed off his mandate in 2019 and again in 2023. Chief Gbenle is widely believed to have won the APC direct primary elections of 2019 , but Ajuloopin was the party's favourite and was maneuvered and superimposed on the party. That is the characteristics of APC anyways, rigging and imposing candidates on their party members , Oloriegbe has affirmed this in many occasions. All thanks to Honorale Saheed Popoola too, who confirmed the fraud attached to Ajuloopin elections but that's not the issue , we will not allow the mistake of 2019 to repeat self this time. Most of those who supported Ajuloopin elections in 2019 are today living in regret of their lives, including his friends who contributed to his campaigns . Imagine Alhaji Lai Mohammed who offended so many party's bigwigs just to pave way for Ajulo, Alhaji had been insulted and called names by Ajuloopin , the worst morale crime is to be an ungrateful soul for those who entrusted their hopes in you. If Ajulo feels the Mansions and other luxurious properties he has acquired within thr last 5 years or so is not enough for him , we the constituents will let him know that our Mandate this time is not for Guy man who's looking for more money to aquire bigger Mansions at the detriments of suffering constituents I stand by my earlier submission that a character like Ajuloopin lacks moral justification to seek another term in office despite his failure as a lawmaker Happy Sunday Sholyments

...Abdulrahaman Govt has increased Kwara Debt to #110bn within his 3years in Office* Behold the magnificent building set to be commissioned by Kwara state government under our amiable Governor, Mallam Abdulrahaman Abdulrazaq after spending almost 4 years in office The Government have been under serious criticism for not able to commission a single project despite huge debt it has plunged kwara state and its people since 2019. This project is a Gigantic building in Gbuugbu International Market and govt databoys described it as first of its kind in the whole Africa. Accoridng to multiple government house sources , the project consists of 22 lock-up shops, 10 blocks of 200 open shops with public toilets It's not clear whether President Muhammadu Buhari has been officially notified but this is the first and the greatest project AA govt has deemed fit for commissioning since 2019 when Mallam Abdulrahaman Abdulrazaq took over leadership of the state after he has successfully borrowed more than fifty billion naira on behalf of the state It should be noted that Kwara state domestic Debt under Mallam Abdulrahaman Abdulrazaq is now over #110billion , you hear me right , (one hundred & ten billion naira) as at June this year . A figure that Abdulrahaman inherited at #59.5billion in 2019 representing total debt profile of the state since 1967 when Kwara state came into existence The implication is that , in the entire 52years of Kwara existence before 2019, Kwara Debt profile for the whole 52 years was 59.5bn naira. But in 3 years under Mallam Abdulrahaman Abdulrazaq, the state has borrowed more as the figure bow stands at 110billion naira and the only magnificent project that comes out of this huge Debt is this Gbuugbu International Market building See the photo of the project One word for Mallam Abdulrahaman Abdulrazaq

This has increased pressure over time coupled with the attrition of ‘wear and tear’ on a lot of facilities at the Hospital , apart from this , thosse facilities have also had their capacities been overstretched, especially in view of decades of usage in attending to residents of Kwara who daily throng UITH for minor and tertiary medical cases." Really ? After the first coup has failed , so it was this man who plotted the first move with this unfit IGP? Is this what Nigerian police has been reduced to ?urgent action must be taken by presidency to redeem the image of police ,this is just too much |

Politics / Re: Thugs Attack Journalists At Ilorin High Court, Strip Woman (Video) by Sholyments(m): 4:45pm On Sep 14, 2017 |
This report is false , untrue and bias. The Senate president is not in Ilorin at the time of this hearing so how could he have sponsored anyone? I was very much in that court from beginning to the end. The truth is that these people came in two buses reportedly from Ogbomoso, on reaching the court premises, they were chanting several inciting songs which were targeted at the person of Saraki. "eni a le o eni a le, kolomo kilo fomore eni a le" meaning today will be distarous for anyone, are we expecting the security to allow those people into the compound? I guess no. It was the people who appeared too radical that were not allowed into court premises that engage them in some hot arguments that led to this and thanks to security operatives who quickly prevailed over the fracas, this way she was still talking shows that the men of Nigerian police did a good job. I enjoined our reporters to not be bias in their reportage, Saraki is the most coolheaded politician who detests violence under any guise. He has never and can never author any thuggery and ungodly act from any of his followers itsdumebi: 1 Like |

My advice is if you are shorter than required height , do not waste Ur tp unless you have a strong man behind telling u to proceed, check the instructions written on the invite very carefully , once u fall short of any and u knw its obvious, don't waste Ur time and money , there is no magic there ,the process is not ambigious but they use anything to get off prospcctive off. U start from ceckinh of Ur name outside d gate , To checking of Ur credentials for sighting (original copies ) To checkinh of Ur height (1.67for men, 1.64 for ladies ) To Ur weight check To Ur bmi which will be calculated by the efcc stafs in charge , if you pass this stage , u proceed to fitness test for eyesight, surgery stuff, teeth check , bp , tattoo, and other Unfortunately, I couldn't proceed to the fitness stage due to my height issues Good luck to all intending applicants 4 Likes |
