Hello guys, i have a 6 year study gap and as someone with little or no work experience(my only work experience is my one year IT), how do i go about writing my SOP to convince the Visa officer cause i'm basically into crypto which i heard is not a substantial reason to tell the VO. Replies will be highly appreciated.
These are circumstances you need to figure out yourself. You must have done some things within those 6 years. It's up to you to package yourself very well without crossing the line of "misrepresentation". That's why it's important you start writing your SOP very early because ways of how you can improve it will keep coming to your head.

Good morning all,

Please after submitting an application and boimetrics, how long does it normally take for eligibility review to start? I'm tired of checking already
No one can say. Status might change a week after application or even the day ppr drops. Very unpredictable.

His information is not misleading. You can use a GIC if you have one, inplace of your bank statement.

Let's learn to confirm all informations.
Go and read about SDS stream. GIC is one of the requirement of the SDS stream. Nigerian applicants are not eligible for SDS stream. Submit a GIC certificate, you'll still get NSE request.
Even the applicants from countries the GIC arrangement was mainly created for still attach a statement of account along with their GIC certificate to their application because SDS requires payment of a year tuition fee. You should be the one learning to confirm information. There's a reason it's not popular among Nigerian applicants.

I understand you are trying to be polite but when you say the bolded, it means every info not just this one I give out is misleading. Correct the sentence pls

If you read a previous reply i gave to the moniker, I told him/her, I dont know much about GIC. But fine, I might have been wrong. Done the correction
It definitely shouldn't be interpreted that way. Don't take it as an attack. You have been very helpful, no one can deny that. We're all trying to help one another, but in doing so, we also need to be cautious.

If the GIC is available, then you can use it. No need for bank statement.
I know your intentions are good but some infos you give out are misleading. GIC doesn't negate the need for bank statement.

To whom it may concern,
Book your appointment online to avoid human error at the other end. You should only call for verification or technical difficulties. And payment is done upfront. For your medicals, a receipt of your payment is one of the requirements. These are infos you can easily find using Google.
Some of the answers you get here are just based on assumption. Always visit the actual website to get the information you need. Google is your friend.

If you do upfront medicals before submitting your application approximately how long will it take before the medicals section on the application changes and acknowledges the medicals? Currently it says I do not need medicals and they will send me an email if that changes.
there's no definitive timeframe for the update. It will be updated to pass at some point.

@lekkiboboe, I'm self sponsored and i have paid my 1 year tuition fee, i was adviced by my immigration consultant to do a GIC investment to further show my economic strength. Do you think i should do it? I should transfer my living expenses to a GIC account?

My gurus, kindly advice.
GIC or no GIC a 1 year bank statement is still going to be required for NSE. I see no essence in the GIC program. However if there's still going to substantial amount in your bank account even after GIC arrangement, then you're good to go.

Good evening house,

Please I would like to confirm if a normal bank statement can be used in place of "mybankstatementcertificate"? My sponsor sent that saying that was what his Bank Manager sent to him. Unless I wait till Monday before it can be rectified and I have to submit my application by today - 15th.
Please I need your advise on what to do. Should I wait for the mybankcertificate or submit with the normal stamped Bank Statement?
What bank?

Hello Gurus of Nairaland.

I have a question about proof of funds for the second year of study. Do I have to attach any form of documentation to backup my claim about how I will be funding my second year tuition and living expense?

Say I am entitled to a certain percentage of my salary while away on study leave and I want to reference this as my POF for my second year tuition, do I have to attach a letter from my organization stating this?

Please, what are the options for second/subsequent year POF?
It is not necessarily a requirement to provide prove of funding for second year. However, VO tend to have concerns for self sponsored applicant. You should make reference to your salary entitlement in your SOP and attach the letter from your organisation in your prove of funds. Don't make it seem as if the salary will be the sole source of your fund for the second year. Just make a reference to it without mentioning second year.

there's nothing like upfront biometrics. It can't be done unless you're requested to do so which is usually within 48hrs after application is submitted but that's not always the case. You've done upfront Medicals and it has been passed. If this your second application within 10 years, then there won't be biometric request. Scroll down to "messages about your application". Provide the screenshot. Don't scroll beyond the messages part. Those are sensitive information.
@Lianna2020 there's no need for screenshot. You applied for tourist's visa earlier. Your biometrics must have been collected at the time.

Does eligibility start before biometrics request?

I only got medical request and background n eligibility has started with no biometrics request
provide picture of your application page.
That's a very unusual sequence. But these IRCC people have no pattern with the way they do things

Well he has to visit the bank. Not all branches are familiar with the MyBankStatement service. He has to insist they reach out to the headquarter if they are not familiar with the service.

Good day my people. Please someone should help out, how can my sponsor generate mybankstatement for NSE application. Is it the same as the regular printing and uploading bank statement? Please help out, cos he said he tried using the mybankstatent link but there was no stamp on the statement
What bank is your sponsor using? It's not the same as regular. MyBankStatement is just a certificate that can be generated using the bank app. It depends on the bank and type of account. The statement of account will be sent to the embassy directly from the bank while you upload the certificate along with your application.

I have paid first semester tuition. And the company might have more than 10M.
Also the living expenses of 10kCAD will definitely be in my account

But i still need to show the bank statement of my sponsor, even as i will mention it in my SOP.
They better have way more than 10m in their account. A letter from the company showing their commitment to sponsoring you will go a long way. It's still a very difficult circumstance tho. The letter has to be very detailed. They must answer the important question.
Why are they sponsoring you to Canada when there are cheaper options in Nigeria.

Hello!
**

1) Please if a company where i currently work(like 6-7 months now...) is willing to sponsor me due to the better of the company and the actualization of my long term dream through my employer, can the employer use his personal account for bank statement of 10m naira or the company's of 10m, which is advisable? Don't mind me, am just finding Dory several options to aid me more convincing words to the VO.

2) And then if am using company as my sponsor, won't i include board of directors reference documents or officials of the company having knowing about the sponsor together with the M.D(my employer), even though it is his will, just to prove to the VO that some knows about the sponsorship, is that necessary please or only reference from the employer/M.D is needed?
Chances are very slim with the 2 option. No one is going to believe a company you work for, having a 10m balance in their account wants to sponsor you. You can boost your chance a bit by having the company pay a year tution fee and having the living expenses in your account. With that, you don't necessarily need to submit the company's statement of account.
