Linda Ikeji who took to Instagram to encourage those depressed, stated that one of the reasons for depression is lack of fulfillment.

According to the celebrity blogger, the best way to stay happy is letting go of what you think your life is supposed to be and embracing what your life is. Linda Ikeji who stated that one of the reasons for depression is lack of fulfillment, added that when one starts looking at other people's lives, they forget that everyone is on their own journey and no two journeys even along the same path are alike.

Well, in my view, the aetiology of depression is multifactorial and multifaceted. It's caused by not only one factor, as much as disappointment and no meeting up to the store goal can be a cause, the cause can also be idiopathic, or how do u explain a man who just decide to kill himself for no reason. If u think I'm lying ask survivor of attempted suicide. The society will do well by always be ready to be our next brother's keeper. Speak life, courage, wisdom, hope, faith to someone today and our world will be better for it.

[quote author=hisexcellency34 post=79616857]Temidayo Akinsuyi, Lagos

Prof. Itse Sagay (SAN), Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption (PACAC), in this interview with TEMIDAYO AKINSUYI, speaks on the wait for President Muhammadu Buhari’s cabinet and other latest developments in the polity. Excerpts:

Some Nigerians are beginning to get worried over the failure of President Muhammadu Buhari to announce his cabinet almost a month after he was inaugurated for second term, especially given the fact that it took the President six months to announce his cabinet in his first term. Are you also worried about this?

What are Nigerians worrying about? Nigerians will always have something to worry about. When was the National Assembly inaugurated? That was just few days ago. So, there is nothing to worry about. It’s better to be thorough, make your enquiries, get all the recommendations, study reports about the ministerial nominee before selecting him and forwarding names for screening and confirmation. I think we are in very, very early days. There is nothing to worry about in the formation of the cabinet.

91 political parties participated in the 2019 general elections. Now INEC is saying we may have up to 200 political parties in the 2023 general elections. How do you think that can be averted?

Well, I think INEC is to blame for all these. A body like INEC should be proactive. When they found that the whole thing was getting out of hand with 91 parties, they should have done something about it. I myself with my level of education find it very difficult to identify my party logo out of the 73 political parties that contested in the presidential election. Now, INEC is talking of 200 and they are just saying it without thinking of what to do about so that we don’t get to that level. Shouldn’t INEC now through the government propose an amendment to the provisions of the constitution for registration of political parties? That is what INEC should be talking of. They should get their lawyers to draft a document and send it to the Ministry of Justice so that the conditions for registration can be made more drastic and at the end, we won’t have more than 10 political parties.

For me, it’s all a sign of INEC’s weakness which has been a serious problem particularly in these 2019 elections as against the one in 2015 when we had a chairman of INEC who knew what he was doing. The current INEC chairman is a very weak man and doesn’t have any initiative. He is not proactive and collapses easily under problems and just articulates the problems without any solutions while waiting for somebody else to do it for him.

You once said ex- Presidents are institutions that cannot be arrested. Do you think former President Olusegun Obasanjo can be investigated over some of his recent claims about Islamisation of the country?

Every rule has its exception. When I say Obasanjo is an institution that cannot be arrested, I was looking at him as a former president who though does not have legal immunity but has immunity by convention because we look at them as people who are the embodiment of the country and as such should not be humiliated. But if an ex-president goes out of his way to endanger the country by spreading alarmist stories that will create disunity, frictions, dissension, crisis and then possibly conflicts, then it may become necessary to restrain such an ex-president in any way possible even if it means physical restraints. If the case is as extreme as Obasanjo is making it now, he may erode all the protections and expose himself to some form of restraints and it may be physical.

Let me add something here. I have been observing politics in Nigeria, even participating for almost 60 years; I have never seen the level of bitterness a loser has expressed in actions, in words Obasanjo. The impression they gave before the election was that they are absolutely certain that Atiku will be declared the President one way or the other. When it didn’t happen, they were shocked so much that it has become extreme bitterness and this is what is spilling over to Obasanjo. Obasanjo has always been the kingmaker. He made Yar’Adua, he made Jonathan. Later, he said Jonathan should not contest and he contested and lost so all that myth has grown around him but now that myth has been totally blown by Buhari and so, he is extremely bitter. That is own source of bitterness and he has been humiliated by the way Buhari overwhelmingly defeated Atiku. Atiku’s own is that something he is absolutely certain of and for which he has made lots of investments in both psychological and material matters has been removed from him. So, the level of bitterness is unprecedented. He attacked the President of the Court of Appeal; he hired people abroad to say they won’t recognise the government. Some people even went to court to stop the inauguration which has never happened before. Before Buhari won in 2015, he was defeated three times but he never tried to stop anybody from being inaugurated. They are even issuing out statements that can destabilise the country. When you combine all these, we may have a situation where people behind all these may have to be restrained for peace and stability to reign.

Politics / Re: My Father Forgave Buhari Before his death - Bala shagari by Sieger: 6:54pm On Dec 30, 2018
[quote author=Osagyefo98 post=74302435]- Bala, who is the district head of Shagari town in Sokoto, notes that he would not comment on Buhari’s pledge until it is fulfilled

- The eldest son of the late president says his father did not leave any will beside the directive that he should be buried at his home, Shagari

Bala Shagari, the eldest son of late Shehu Shagari has said his father had no grudge against Buhari or anyone because he had pardoned everyone before his death

Bala made the statement on Sunday, December 30, when expressing appreciation to President Muhammadu Buhari over condolence visit to the family in Sokoto, The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.
He said that the family was happy with the visit and Buhari’s pledge to immortalize the late president

Bala, who is the district head of Shagari town in Sokoto, however, said he would not comment on Buhari’s pledge until it was fulfilled.

Late Shagari, aged 93, died on December 28 at the National Hospital, Abuja and was buried on Saturday, December 29, at Shagari, his hometown

Shagari was president of Nigeria from 1979 to 1983. He was overthrown by a coup d’etat that brought in Muhammadu Buhari to power as military head of state, three months after he (Shagari) was sworn in for second term.

He said that the late president did not leave any will beside the directive that he should be buried at his home, Shagari.

According to Bala, the directive was strictly observed and implemented as his remains were buried at Shagari town.

He acknowledged that the sultan had offered that the late president should be buried at Hubbare, where Shehu Usman Danfofio was laid to rest

“We acknowledged it but late Shagari had told us that he should be buried in Shagari town and even indicated a specific location, so we have to comply with his will,” he added.

According to him, his father had no grudge against Buhari or anyone because Shagari told us he had pardoned everyone.

He explained that the late president’s absence at functions was due to his ill-health, saying that was why he stayed in Sokoto and Shagari town before he died.

Earlier, President Buhari condoled with the wives and children of late Shagari at the deceased residence on Sama road in Sokoto.

During the visit, Prof Shehu Galadanci led the prayers for late Shagari.

He also prayed to God to change the mindset of those spreading hate and disunity among citizens as well as those individuals or organisations working against the laudable and pro-human policies and programmes of the Buhari administration.

Buhari was accompanied by Governors Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto state, Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi, Senator Aliyu Wamakko and Sokoto state deputy governor, Alhaji Mannir Dan-Iya, among others.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the visit was cheered by crowds chanting; “Nigeria Said Maigaskiya” meaning Nigeria is for a truthful person.

The federal government’s delegation led by secretary to the federation, Boss Mustspha, had earlier attended the late president’s funeral on Saturday in Shagari town.

The deceased held the traditional title of Turakin Sokoto, was born on Feb. 25, 1925 in Shagari, in Shagari Local Government Area of Sokoto state.

After his early education, he worked as a teacher briefly before he became politician in 1951. In 1954, he was elected to the Federal House of Representatives.

He served seven times as a federal minister and federal commissioner from 1958–1975, before he was elected president in 1979.

Meanwhile, the deputy senate president, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, has expressed deep grief over the passing on of the Second Republic President, Alhaji Shehu Shagari.

Ekweremmadu said on Friday, December 28, in Enugu said that Shagari’s death was a heavy loss to the nation. He noted that the late elder statesman was a sage and democrat.

The deputy senate president, said although the late elder statesman lived to a ripe age of 93, his wealth of experience and treasury of wisdom would still have been most invaluable in the quest to build the Nigeria of our dreams

Davido’s US fans are not happy with him, following the sudden announcement that he’s canceled the remainder of his U.S. tour.

Fans have dragged him, called him all sorts of names, and not forgetting to compare him with Wizkid.

They took to his Instagram page to call out the singer. While some feel it’s because of the Osun state campaign for his Senator uncle, which is scheduled to hold from the 15th.. Others felt the NYSC excuse was a blatant lie.

Canceling the remainder of his tour, Davido wrote on the gram:

Due to scheduling conflicts and National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) commitments in Nigeria, the remaining dates for the Davido Locked Up Tout has been canceled. Refunds will be made available at point of purchase. Davido and his team are working hard to reschedule all dates plus add new dates in the near future. I love you guys and see you soon. Houston , Dallas , LA and San Francisco would be giving y’all the new dates soon

The AHBEA awards held in Houston over the weekend saw many Nollywood stars travel to faraway USA to witness the event.

The highlight of the event was the performance by Nigerian, US based international singer, Jemiriye Adeniji who dished out pulsating rhythm to the audience.

During the performance, one of the hosts popular actor Lateef Adedimeji, who is also known by industry folks to be a no nonsense Islamic Cleric (Alfa), who was waiting on stage, couldn't control himself as he focused on Jemiriye's big backside.

At a point in during performance, Jemiriye dragged Alfa Lateef up for a dance with and their dance seemed more like a flirting section.

Sources at the event reported that this sparked a huge laughter from the audience and hours after the event, Lateef has shared some photos from the performance inorder to douse the controversy.

In one of the photos shared, he praised Jemiriye for her craft, Jemiriye on the other hand thanked him for the performance
