A Rare endangered AFRICAN FOREST BUFFALO (subspecie of Wild Cape Buffalo) was slaughtered mercilessly today in Edo state.

before I proceed... I hail from Nigeria - The Land of Uncivilized Savages

where animals and humans both are devoid of rights.

Nigerias wildlife is facing severe extinction and we are celeberating such acts on Nairaland frontpage.

My fellow people. Stand up for our wildlife before it is too late!

This man needs to be put behind bars. We need strict laws for our wildlife! This is horrible. angry

We r not yet civilized a people to bother about wildlife.. my brother people r dying by d minute n we r talking of wildlife.... 1 thing at a time.. pity for d Buffalo. Before u say anything I'm a fan of Nat Get Wild but reality must be faced...Let the Government do sumtn in this regard

Why does it always seems like almost every step taken in this administration for the suppose betterment of the poor masses always end up inflicting more pain on them Why do things always have to be unnecessarily difficult all the time especially as regards education in this country?
For the past one week since the long awaited almighty JAMB registration started, i have heard different very discouraging stories of how people are being treated like lower animals in the bank and even worse at JAMB examination centres just to have themselves registered for JAMB. The Worst is that the whole thing has become an issue of "you have to know somebody that knows somebody that knows somebody" to help you bypass the poor man's child on the line who has been coming to the bank for days just for JAMB registration but no body would attend to him because he is of no affluence. Even heard of people sleeping at a centre to complete the process! Now, what impression are the concerned bodies trying to pass to these young minds?! That is now one big crime to seek education as a person if you don't belong to the class of the "high & mighty" of the society Sometimes, I can't help but ask where Nigeria is headed for as a nation, and more tempted even to ask if it is not just one big illusion appearing real that a free and fair country will ever be able to emerge out of a county as totally decayed in every sector as Nigeria.
All these stress just for JAMB registration What will it look like to secure the admission
Indeed, God, in You alone our hope is found!

And we blame the administration for the incompetence of banks to sell tellers to students? Or u blame arrogant JAMB staffs who sit on their lazy asses n refuse to attend to the teeming queue of students in front of them.. Let's be sure to direct our blames in the right direction... we r our problem ! Not every time govt, administration. .. sometimes let's check ourselves.. we the generations that happened to collect WAR result from their office in Ogba can relate better with this or those who bought JAMB form from their office on the island all know the non Chalant attitude these staffs portray.. They make u feel like a beggar... And this same attitude still exist in all civil service ministries up till tmao.. so is that about the government or about the people.. The govt can't do everything for us its high time we do somethings ourselves.. . # Wake up Naija#

Largely true but the Oyo and Bini Empire had their own civilizations not based on writing though.

Agreed but it is not how far but how well... they let the colonial masters drag them down n ride on them...

if only we the masses will stop spilling and dividing the country into Igbo, flat or cone head, Yoruba, Hausa, igbo, fulani etc, Brown roof, Biafra, almajiri, Christian, Muslim, Yoruba-Muslim, developers, afonja, saut waste, saut yeast, ipod, liepod, hardmen nor rejoice when part of us (the masses) get attack (from boko haram, ritualist, killers) or when some of us do something wrong (like drug trafficking, caught stealing or other criminal acts)

we need to accept the simple fact that most of the crime committed by others can be equally committed by people from our tribe, most of those crime are not tribe-specific (if flat-head kidnap, ask yourself whether a cone-head can/has never kidnap).

we have just two true enemies: our leaders and our inability to produce/invent

have you ever heard of otedola and dangote fighting because of tribe/religion or other bullshit

we already have all we need: the igbo can be the technology powerhouse, the south west: management and the north: food production. tribe (in fact, racism) won't allow us realize this

what we do to our self in the name of racism is worse than what south Africa, India or any other country is doing to us.

Nigerian LET'S WISE UP!!!!

Someone finally makes all the sense in Nairaland... nicely said sir... but I doubt if 1 Nigeria will ever come bck again... we r too divided divided a people to be united. I'm sure our heroes who fought for independence will regret it now...
