The marriage crisis between the General Overseer of Christ Embassy International Church, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome and his wife Rev.Anita has reportedly caused discord among church members, according to Punch. Pastor Chris Oyakhilome and wife, Rev. Anita Some members of the church, however, took to Facebook to shared their opinion on the divorce crisis through a Facebook page created, ‘Where is Rev. Anita Oyakhilome,’ which is believed to have been opened by Anita’s fans. According to one of the church members, Ijeoma Olive Ehirim said: “I am a Christ Embassy member. I hate one thing there: How can a pastor be working together with a lady hand in hand, attending meetings and lodging in a hotel for days. My girlfriend travels with our branch pastor annually for PPCF which holds in Lagos. Only God knows.” One, Samantha Iwowo, described adultery as one of the grounds for divorce saying: “Pastor Chris Oyakhilome must have been discovered compromising his marital bed business. It is what it is. God says judgement will start from His house. ‘Touch not my anointed’ is God’s instruction regarding all his children, not an individual nicking, scheming, threatening monies off people’s purses and telling them that salvation is tied to tithes and that seed sowing is only money donation to the church/pastor’s coffers. One down, more to roll. Christ be praised.” A former member of the church, Chinyere Okechukwu-George, claimed to have left the church when she observed some irregularities saying: “I and my family left Christ Embassy for our own good after worshiping there for three years plus and seeing all the things going on under the disguise of church. And I can comfortably say that for over a year now, we have had so much peace in our Christian lives. I don’t care how you view my comment but truth must be told.” Joseph Osagiede, contrary to the report making rounds of the separation said the Oyakhilomes were still together saying: “I have been in Christ Embassy for 12 years. All is totally well with thier marriage. All those wishing them to split and also those going about saying nasty things about the church, be careful.”. http://www.naij.com/283062-pastor-oyakhilome-wifes-divorce-splits-christ-embassy-members.html |

I am driven to report that River State Government is till date, yet to pay all batch A, B, and C corps members who served in Rivers State in 2012 / 2013, their allowances. More saddening is the fact that nothing is being said about it. In a country where unemployment no longer wears dark shades, this money would have been a lifeline as unemployed graduates could use it to finance some trade and become relevant in the society rather than remain liabilities to their families. OP kindly help and push this to the front page, as I hope it gets to the relevant authorities and something is done fast about it. |

A 45-year-old farmer, Lawrence Adedapo, is now in Police custody for allegedly forcibly having carnal knowledge of a 75-year-old woman, Grace Asaolu, at Ogbese Camp, Ise-Ekiti in Ise-Orun Local Government Area of Ekiti State. Adedapo was said to have invited the septuagenarian to his house on November 7 this year under the pretext that he brought some plantain from his farm for sale. The accused was said to have taken advantage of the old woman's fragile nature, overpowering her before having carnal knowledge of her. According to the victim, "Lawrence Adedapo is my neighbour. He invited me to come and collect plantain but instead he pushed me on his children's bed and forcefully had carnal knowledge of me. I later rushed to the police station to report the matter." Upon interrogation, the suspect confirmed that he had carnal knowledge of the woman but denied forcing her, claiming that she was his mistress. He said: "I knew her long time ago. I knew her as a widow from Moba Local Government Area of the state. We have known each other for the past 35 years and I have been dating her for long. "The last time I had sex with her was in April during Easter before meeting her again on November 7. That was the second time we met this year. I did not force her into it and I had her consent before doing it". Asked why she reported the matter to the police, Adedapo said: "I promised to give her N2,000 which she asked for before we did it. But after the sex I was able to give her N1,000 only. That could be the reason why she alleged that I raped her. I later found out that she was bleeding as a result of the sex. "I did not even ejaculate because I used my children's room, so I had to rush." However, the police image maker in the state, Mr. Victor Babayemi, ASP, insisted that the investigation carried out by the police revealed that the old woman was actually raped by the suspect. He said: "In the course of investigation, facts emerged that the suspect knew the victim to be of old age, 75, and in menopause. "She could not have been bleeding without tampering with her organ. Medical report shows that there was a violent sexual assault on her; she was also said to be distressed with her genital smeared with fresh blood. "It shows that he invited the woman with criminal intent to have intercourse with her |
