Tjayelbee: Hi Guys,
Be careful not to give in to this buying slot of a thing , at this eleventh hour! There’s a certain guy that is usually privy to lists, either N-power, CBN Agric loan, or even recruitments. He picks hopefuls numbers and asks ridiculous things claiming he’s from the office of the CoS. Just be extra careful.
Your name may already be on the list and the person probably knows.. clean N1m ontop your head, Lol.
So, the only new thing I reliably heard today was that, of the certain number to be recruited per state, some states didn’t even have up to that number interviewed. So they might have most of their interviewees hired and then top up with contract staff especially if they’re from the said states.
Resumption is still October!
Last lap guys, wish us all the best!! Thanks... Could you go further by listing those states. |

Firstgentleman1: I think the mystery shrouding the Transport fare is gradually getting unraveled.
Payments are made mostly according to date of interview, followed by CBT centers then amount.
Based on observation, I discovered that the first set of mass payments (6th of July interviewees) were paid 20k, with majority coming from Lagos and Port Harcourt. The reason why that particular day was highly publicized is because a lot of Nairaland's ACTIVE users are Lagos based.
Some people from other locations got paid too on that same 6th, but they were in the minority. With what I have come to observe, NNPC had a template for the interview invite and I'd try to draft a rough sketch of this template.
On every interview day, certain states would dominate the list for a stipulated time. Take for instance, on the 1st, 7am, each panel would attend to people that had their CBT from a particular state.
Assuming you had your interview slated for 7am, and you made it to panel 13, there is every likelihood that the 5 of you called up at that point in time had your CBTs in the same state. Meanwhile, at the same time in another panel, say panel 15, the people that would be called up would be people from another state entirely.
The reason for my guess is this, in my panel, we were the first to go in for 12pm batch for that particular panel. The last guy for the 9am batch was seated awaiting his turn. The 5 of us that just got called up got talking and we discovered we all had our CBT in the same state, not same center. The other 4 were from same state excluding me who was from a different state. A man even came to engage us, and was saying it that those 4 were competing against themselves. We then shifted our attention to the guy we met, we asked if he wrote his Cbt in the state we did ours, he replied with an emphatic no, and even went ahead to tell us that the guys they called up together, i.e, the last set for 9am wrote their CBT in the same state.
I was at the interview with a friend from same CBT state. He was slated for 2pm I think, but a different discipline entirely. I asked if he noticed anything about the people he was called with to his panel and he pointed out that their CBT centre was the same state. Another clear pattern established.
Now, lumping all these together, we can establish an interview invite pattern, then from there draw a reasonable inference regarding the pattern of Tfare payment.
1. The panels are discipline/department specific - Correct.
2. When a particular set of interviewees of a particular time gets called up, first it is clear that they are of same discipline set(e.g Economics/Accounting/finance/banking & finance).. Secondly, they all did their CBT in the same state.
3. Which means on any set date, people of different CBT states interviewed. One thing that is sure though is that certain dates dominates a particular date.
4. This explains why when some dates get paid, we get to hear of certain states dominating the payment.
5. Some of those dates that have been settled has Lagos, Kaduna, Portharcourt, Oyo, Abuja as domineering states. The core Northern states dominated too, but we can't be privy to that because most of them are not here, but they have gotten nonetheless. I confirmed from some Northern friends that has friends from there.
6. That explains why the recent payment of 2nd of July had a lot of Nasarawa, Jos, Benue, Niger among others.
7. Anyone can correct me if I am wrong, but I am sure 4th,1st, 5th have not been paid. As for 4th which I belong to, a lot of kwara CBT candidate dominated that same day and none of them have been paid.
What this means is that payment is done by picking the sheet of papers that has our account details, then pay everyone in that order. Everyone will still get paid at the end of the day. Except in the case of error.
This is just me with my usual way of thinking. If you point out any observation or point made in error, you can kindly call my attention to it. We are all in this together. Local men formulating theories and lightening the thread's atmosphere with high level comic relief and ridiculous and rib cracking theories. You are all appreciated.
As for we the foreign men, we look on and follow with interest till the last day. Foreign men has no association for now, but anyone can take the initiative to get us started, registered and fully incorporated. Unlike Local men that can't can, we foreign men can all the time.
Peace to you all.
Your analysis carry weight baba... I had mine on the 5th EH and for each batch was 5 persons for different IT roles and none had their CBT at the same centre. I can recall that each time slot had one person for the IT role I applied for cos I met 2 persons after my time slot and I know the other person b4 my timeslot. I believe the NNPC did a good job the way the interviews were conducted and It is very possible the successful applicants are known in less than a week after conducting interviews. 2 Likes |

Gbyms: If a different set of folks are paid tomorrow, then things are on fast track. Should 2nd still be paid tomorrow, normal pace continues. We can count the number of massive interview date to be paid. Each day signifies 1 week. I doubt any 5th applicant has been paid. So next week Wednesday would be for them. Afterwards APL. The above is applicable if Nnpc wants to conclude massive wave payment before dropping APL. Some people would not have been paid upon collection of APL due to errors or if there’s any correlation between APL and TF. Just my inference. I might just be propounding the wave payment theory. Lol Seems 1st as well are yet to be paid... 2 Likes |

Sorry to bust anyone's bubble but we are not going to recieve any alert before the 19th of August. Futhermore, there is no correlation between getting transport and Appointment Letter. I asked him ( interviewer) and he was definite with his answer. If you got your Tfare from farouk freedom and you think you're part of a fictitious 1%, sorry you've been deceived. Getting paid by farouk doesn't guarantee anything. I can say this with my chest because he also paid me. Let's keep praying. I'll drop as I hear it... First, there’s a difference between budget preparation, approval and implementation. That a budget was approved doesn’t mean everything in the budget will be implemented (considering financial restraints).
Now to the recruitment process, NNPC has no idea how many people will apply for this recruitment, they can only prepare an estimate. Have you considered other variables? What if they estimated 500,000 people to register during the application stage but over a million applied? What if the estimate they prepared for those coming to Abuja for the interview is between 5k-6k and we are hearing about 9k attended the interview? Have you considered maybe they actually underbudgeted for this recruitment process?
Not to even talk about funding, you know they can budget 200m for this recruitment and just 100 or 125m will be approved to them?
There are a lot of variable involved and until you are certain that the TF reimbursement for 9k people was actually approved for payment, you can’t begin to cast aspersions on the corporation.
God bless. I actually modified my post to capture your second statement... I had that in consideration too God bless baba and thanks for the insight |

I’m not sure you and the other guy understand what a budget is.
Moreover, no one here is privy to the budget of NNPC for 2019, so how can you say it with all confidence that it was included in the budget? I am certainly not privy of of the NNPC budget but believe me you this expense for compensation allowance was budgeted for. Every department in an organization have their budget for a financial year. so wetin we come dey talk about for here naaa. The money paid to the guys that built the web application that collated our applications, the money paid to the independent body that filtered our respective applications etc, down to the money that would be paid to the staff (adhoc or temp) that partook in the exercise were all budgeted for. The only reason why money no go go round na if outcome exceed expectation with respect to number of interviewed applicants and the reduction in the amount compared to previous years dey point towards that direction. 2 Likes |

The scenario concerning governor which was pointed out in your 1st paragraph is totally different from what we are saying here..i don't belong to the set that praise government for doing what they are suppose to do initially.
I think you are confusing CSR/ CDA( Community Development Agreement) with an organisations compensation policy. These are 2 different things. If you want enlightenment on the 2 ask and I will explain further.
I maintain, the policy might have been changed, and it's not a must they honour it. You cant sue them for bringing you to Abuja without paying Tfare...it does not hold brief in our constitution either. First and foremost, I cant recall mentioning suing NNPC for non-compliance. I recall vividly saying a breach in policy leads to penalties and this points to the officials in charge of disbursing the compensation. I believe I'm not confused on any of the terms you listed. And about policy change, if you have any idea on how company policies are made you wouldn't come up with that vague statement that "the policy might have been changed". You certainly wouldn't and I reiterate reread my conversation with Kevlala, you would understand better. You would likewise get enlightened on how Kevlala portrayed the situation of a change in policy. You claim you don't belong to the group that praises government for doing what they are suppose to do initially yet believe the NNPC is not obliged to honour whatever policy/standard that guides her... Local man is confused and cannot just can |

My brother that they have internal policy to be complied with by their employees and enforced by internal control staff do not mean that policy cannot change. The internal policies are not for public consumption. No law court would sanction/penalize a company for breach of its own policy.. it's the exclusive preserve of their management to do so.
Their protest is not valid at all. It's not their right but a privilege to show they value prospective employees. Permit me to say this is why we have problems in this country. Where a governor who is expected to do his primary role of providing basic amenities rather sees it as a privilege to the people that he/she could only provide 10% of it and he still gets praised for it. I hope you digested properly how Kevlala and I broke down this issue of policy and compensation and if you didn't, kindly do the needful. |

you have spoken well.
when i say its not your right is in the fact that, we dont know what the existing policy is now as regards tfare reimbursement. u dnt know if actually for this year the policy has been reviewed to only pay the unsuccessful ones or pay only the successful ones.
The determinants of the content of the policy is solely the company. thats y i said its not a right.
i have travelled to this same abuja for an interview without tfare before. i didnt carry placard because obviously it wasnt in the company;s policy to do so.
infact, it can be in your policy that u will pay and for some reason u cant achieve it.
for example, it can be in your policy that u will pay dividend to shareholders every year end. but if u fail to make profit, there is no way u will be allowed to pay dividend out from reserves. You have point with regards uncertainty concerning the policy in place for this years recruitment and I believe I actually made mention to Gbyms that if he has never been reimbursed for an interview, it is due to the company's policy that such an act is not recognized. You've spoken well too. |

Kevlala:
okay. let me weigh in here on this policy issue.
Every action that is undertaken by any organisation is embedded/driven in/by a policy.
However, a policy is an internal document that can be amended at will by the organisation to reflect current market realities.
so even if NNPC was paying before, they cud decide to amend their policy to reflect what they want to achieve. E.g decide not to pay again and remove it from their compensation policy.
in the light of the above, TFARE reimbursement is not a right. they can decide what they want to do.
However, the act of paying is definitely in their compensation policy. To what extent they have amended it to cover now is what we dnt know.
Even Corporate social responsibility has a policy. Thanks for explaining further but I disagree with your claim of TFARE reimbursement not being a right. How about we rephrase it with respect to what policies are - a deliberate strategic statement of intent passed by the senior management or governing body of an organization. Hence, it is the duty of every personnel bound by that policy to comply just as it is expected of anyone who is given the duty to reimburse applicants to do so. Do you know a breach in policy attract penalties... This is more about the NNPC being accountable by judiciously carrying out one her duties. Where are the auditors and internal control guys in the house? |

TP payment as one of their policies?
Reimbursement of TF (token) is a sign of goodwill from the corporation. The corporation is under no obligation to actually pay you any kobo. Some will receive this TP and some will not irrespective of what happens with the APL. What's funny about having compensation/travel allowance as a policy? |
