Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 20 by SirWaybijo(m): 5:51pm On Sep 08, 2021
Faithyyyyy:
It's been almost a year here and I am glad to be an alumni. I applied for my study permit last year and got it within a month despite the pandemic and delays. I followed up rigorously, didn't defer my classes and started online classes because I was convinced it would favour me. I eventually travelled with my husband and son when resuming on campus and it was a great experience.

Today I am a proud graduate of University of Ottawa. Yes I finished my program in record time and I am over the moon.

My mission here is to give back more positively and encourage everyone on this journey who has faith and believes this is what they want to go for. It takes patience, research, hardwork and even financial commitment.

Let us keep faith and hope alive on this journey of the brave

Congratulations, madam. I’m working on getting my study permit, but I’m having issues with providing proof of financial support. I’d like to pick your brains on how to go about this. Thanks

The University of Ilorin is located in the ancient city of Ilorin, about 500 kilometres from Abuja, the Federal capital. Ilorin, the Capital of Kwara State, is strategically located at the geographical and cultural confluence of the North and South with a land mass of 75,000 (approximate) hectare.

That's from Wikipedia. If i understand this well, Ilorin has a land mass of 75 hectare and not Unilorin.

Education / Re: The "BIG" Gap Between Engineering And Medical Students! by SirWaybijo(m): 9:30pm On Oct 07, 2014
Tbliss12:
All over the world its no more "News" that these two field of career are both professional fields especially when it comes to practicing it in full scale. But its so saddened here in my country (Nigeria) the way Medical Student(Pharmacists,Nurses, Medical Lab Scientist and Doctors) are being given mouth watery treatment on NYSC service ground and the future Engineers are being treated like idiots.

Infact in Benue State where I'm serving Med Guys are paid like 60k @ppa, 30k @state level followed with 3bedroom flats of Doctors quarters(free of charge) nd 19k of allawee compared with an Engineering Student sent to primary or secondary school with 2k@ ppa and just your 19k of allawee with no accommodation even if you had a First Class(B.Eng) in school. With this sad experience I thing the Engineering Bodies in this country (NSE nd COREN) are allowing our government to cheat us big time.

Med Guys make sure life of human is sustained but Engineers make life so comfortable for humans, we are everywhere going great things all around the world...

1. Automobile industry
2. Air-Condition and Refrigeration(Plasma air-con,doing great)
3. Electronics Devices (Mobile Devices,Laptops etc)
4. ICT and Telecommunications
5. Provision of Electricity(even if its still Bad, but Med Guys can't still do d job if not trained Engineers)
6. Biotechnology (Engineering coming into Medicine)
7. Architects, Civil Engineers and Builders
8. AeroNautical Engineers (Aircraft Engineers)
9. Marine Engineers

Just to mention a few now tell me, would you say its fair after all these areas of specialisation we (the upcoming Engineers) should be badly treated?
Aw many of these things are created by Nigerian engineers?

Sports / Re: TB Joshua Warned Keshi Over Last-Minute Goal by SirWaybijo(m): 12:05pm On Jan 23, 2013

Unknown to soccer loving Nigerians, Coach Stephen Keshi was warned to ensure that the Super Eagles did not concede a last minute goal in their AFCON Group C match against Burkina Faso yesterday.
The Nigerian team, that scored a first half goal through Emmanuel Emenike were close to winning their opening match at South Africa 2013 Nations Cup, but lost focus and allowed the Burkinabes equalised barely 10 seconds to the end of the match at Mbombela Stadium.
Just as millions of soccer pundits have critisised the Eagles’ approach to the match, Keshi’s spiritual confidant, Prophet TB Joshua said he spoke to the coach to tighten up his team’s rear, especially in the second half.
The leader of Synagogue, Church of All Nations, who said the Eagles also disappointed him as a strong fan said: I called and warned Keshi to watch out for that dangerous move by the Burkina Faso strikers”.
And due to the fact that many people may not belief in his prediction, TB Joshua supported his claims by making a recorded copy of his conversation with Keshi available to P.M.NEWS.
In the conversation, Keshi urged the prophet to pray for his team, saying they did not want to concede any to against Burkina Faso.
In his response, Joshua, who advised Keshi to call him before the second half, stated: “You have to be careful and pray so that what the tragedy I saw does not happen to the Eagles. The horses of Burkina Faso do not get tired, and your defenders must not lose focus in the second half…”.
The Eagles, who fell like packs of cards in the encounter, also received hard knocks from former Nigerian internationals, Sunday Oliseh, Jonathan Akpoborie, Tijani Babangida and Rwanda Coach, Milutin Sredojevic.
Oliseh, a former skipper of the team, said yesterday’s draw was like a loss to the Eagles, “because they may regret the result as the competition progresses.”
Akpoborie, who earlier said the team cannot go far at the AFCON, castigated the strikers for not utilising their chances.
Babangida also lambasted the Keshi-led squad, saying they would blame themselves if the draw edge them out of the competition.
Rwanda coach, Sredojevic said he was disappointed in the Nigerian team, saying they lacked a winning mentality, concluding that Keshi is technically inept.
Meanwhile, Keshi has heaped praises on his players for the result against Burkina Faso. The ‘Big Boss’ declared that he is proud of his players despite their failure to hold on to their slender lead, which would have seen Nigeria assume top spot in the group.
“We are not going to let anything bring us down, trust me. I am very proud of the boys”.

Biafra rep: The super eagles yesterday ran amock in a 5-0 defeat of Portugease club fc Farense. Chelsea midfielder Mikel Obi, opened scoring for Nigeria through the spot kick while Ike Uche scored a hat trick and Emenike finally put a nail in the coffin of the Portuguese club to make it five. This is in contrast to their match against Cape Verde where they puffed and huffed to a frustrating goaless draw.
Nosa Igbiebor hit the post thrice,Mikel hit the post once and Emenike missed a sitter. It should have been 10-0.http://www.goal.com/en-ng/news/4687/2013-africa-cup-of-nations/2013/01/15/3674552/super-eagles-defeat-farense-5-0-in-final-warm-up-for-afcon
