Check if your fans are connected directly without the AC on when you start the engine especially from cold start since thermostat has been removed.
How many KM is the distance you cover to & fro(you can use Google map) because this will help also to confirm if it's actually consuming more fuel than normal with your thermostat not present

Bonshak:
I am using Hyundai accent 2012 with 14inch wheels that is very low and I am considering replacing with 16 inch wheels. I need sincere advice from car gurus, thank you.
Just change your tires to a higher one which will give the car a higher ground clearance, same 14inch rim with same width but different height. You should have something like 195/50/R14 inscribed on the tires, so you can change them to 195/60/R14 or 195/55/R14. Just look for ones with a different height while still maintaining your rim size so that it won't touch the body of the car when turning your steering & don't raise the suspensions(shock absorber)

There's a leakage somewhere which is why the water in the radiator is drying up. You can start by checking your radiator cap, make sure it's closed properly or the inner rubber is weak which might cause a leakage before checking or parts of the cooling system to avoid unnecessary spending.
The cooling system of the engine is a closed system with very high pressure when it's hot & any tiny space or hole will lead loss of liquid also stop using water to avoid rust, use a good coolant.
Gazzuzz can shed more light & put you through.
NL1960:

Thanks.

The mechanic that work on the car told me that i should put water to half level of it and also put water on the radiator and that once the water in the radiator drains, it will take from the reservoir to top it but i noticed that the top up is not being done. The reservoir is still full while the radiator water dries up.

Autos / Re: Vis Fined Me 20k What Is Happening by SmilesInn: 6:33pm On Feb 17, 2023
Here's what happened, there people who work for them either officially or unofficially,a picture of your plate number was taken while you where parked somewhere or driving around within the estate & sent to their office, which will be checked on their database. You already know what next if you have an expired vehicle license. I got to know about this when I went for the road worthiness cert. Some won't even know about the fine until they go for the inspection for the road worthiness
greggng:
This morning I got a message from.vis that my car committed traffic offense . The fine me 20k and I was given 7 days to pay to avoid impoundment.

Granted my road worthiness expired and I was sent a reminder but the steering rag of the car is bad so I decided to park it at home pending repair . . I understand I had to fix it before going for roadworthiness .

The question I am asking ...do vis fine vehicles that are not being driven around ? The funny part is that the said the offense happened today while my car has been parked for more than two weeks now . .

How do I go about contesting this

1.If it's not broken, don't try to fix it
2.let a professional help you check the oil by opening the drain hole to get a tiny amount of the oil to see the color
Sankabson:
Got the car last October and I haven’t service it. No Dipstick thing is making hard and difficult to check the oil gage and color

Lekan239:
the manufacturer oil is any SAE standard synthetic oil with 5w-30 weight.

Which is mineral oil?
No long story oga, call gazzuzz & he will supply the right oil for your car because there are other questions to be asked, as you couldn't find the service history at the top left of the wind shield or anywhere around the car.
Though, like jceesquare said you can open the oil cap to check for sludge

Good day professionals, compliment of the season.
I owns a Toyota rav4 2002 model... Recently I noticed it over heating from the engine, the fan was check. Gud, I blow the radiator, still not stop, I later give the radiator to blacksmith to open and wash, still not stop... Den dis last Friday, they checked for its thermostat, it was removed and all couple back... It now working fine but the a.c stops working... Once I on it... Will cool for like 2 seconds, the d light on the a.c button will started blinking, den stop cooling...
What could be the cause of this?
Contact Mosbus here on nairaland, he will sort it out one time, especially if you reside in lagos.
Don't let one technician tell you to change this & that, thereby adding more to the problem till you get frustrated
