Recently I stumbled upon some vodeos on youtube showcasing free-kicks been taken inside the penalty box, it was fun watching such freekicks.

Why is it that such freekicks no longer oc ure?
When was the change effected?

It is still happening till date.

Sports / Pellegrini: ‘we Haven’t Failed In Europe’ by Soccer123: 1:57pm On Sep 30, 2015

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has defended his side's record in the Champions League.

The Citizens lost their opening Group D fixture to Juventus two weeks ago which raised doubts about how far City will go in the competition.

Speaking to reporters ahead of tonight's clash with Borussia Monchengladbach, Manuel Pellegrini said:
"Well, I always repeat the same answer to the same question.

"I don't think we have failed in Europe.

"In the last two years, we have qualified for the next stage and then we lost against the best team in the world, Barcelona.

"That's why we know how to win in Europe. That's why we qualified for two seasons — we have beaten Bayern Munich twice. Last year, we were in a very complicated situation and we won our last two games against Roma away and Bayern Munich at home. So we know how to do it."

"Last year were in a complicated situation and we won our last two games.

"So we know how to do it. We just lost a game against Juventus, which was a strange game.

"Now we are trying in the next five games to qualify for the next stage of Europe."

Sports / Liam Brady: ‘arsenal Defence Must Improve’ by Soccer123: 1:14pm On Sep 30, 2015

Former Arsenal midfielder Liam Brady says the team must improve improve their defence line following their 3-2 loss to greek champions Olympiacos in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night.

Theo Walcott and Alexis Sanchez found the back of the net and Brady insist the front-line are blames.

"We don't have a problem in the forward area, not as much as people like to make out," Brady told talkSPORT.

"Theo will play. He scored again last night and did really well for Sanchez's goal.

"It think our defending, especially in set pieces, is where we really need to get better. We dominated the game, but we defended poorly from set-pieces and it cost us dearly. We lost a goal at Zagreb and two goals against Olympiakos to set-pieces.

"The first goal was bad last night, the ball coming into the box and players not really knowing what's going on. The marking and concentration has got to be a lot better. If we get these things right the results will be more consistent and we won't have this up and down situation we're having at the moment."

Arsenal are bottom of Group F with zero point after losing two consecutive Champions League games.

Sports / ‘morata Could Be World’s Best’ by Soccer123: 12:26pm On Sep 30, 2015

Juventus captain Gianluigi Buffon believes his teammate 'Alvaro Morata is potentially a player who could become one of the top two or three in the world in a few years'.

Morata, 22, scored the winner in the Bianconeri 2-1 over Manchester City earlier this month in the Champions League group phase.

Speaking to Spanish newspaper Marca, ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League clash with Europa League holders Sevilla, Buffon said:
“Alvaro Morata is potentially a player who could become one of the top two or three in the world in a few years.

“He has a physical presence, he makes sacrifices and he’s humble. He’s a complete forward – the difference between a good player and a great player is the mentality.

“In my opinion, everything depends on him and his head.

“Sevilla are a very strong team, they play in an intelligent way and are convinced of their quality.

Sports / Wenger: 'olympiacos Is A Must-win Game' by Soccer123: 3:06pm On Sep 28, 2015
Arsene Wenger has admitted that Tuesday's Champions League encounter with Olympiacos is a "must-win" game.

The Gunners were beaten 2-1 by Croatian out-fit Dinamo Zagreb two weeks ago and Wenger will not like such to repeat itself.

"It is already a must-win. You sum it up well," he told reporters.

"We have to win at home to qualify, as simple as that. we cannot afford to drop points at home now.

"Both teams will always try to go forward. At home, teams try to regroup and you have to be clinical.

"Coquelin has been back in training since yesterday. He looks alright. Flamini and Arteta have slight muscular problems."

Wenger praised Hattrick Hero Alexis Sanchez and Theo Walcott who was also on target in a 5-2 victory over Leicester City during the weekend:
"Alexis got off the mark and Theo was brilliant.

"Sanchez is one of the most passionate players I know. I look and learn from him."

After the Olypiacos Clash, Arsenal will face Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich for two consecutive times in October.

Sports / Mancini: I Do Not Care What People Say by Soccer123: 12:35am On Sep 27, 2015

Kicknews24 was made to understand that Inter Milan manager Roberto Mancini has lash back at those claiming his team play unattractive football.

The Nerazurri are top of the Serie A table with 100% winning.

“I wouldn’t say we play an ugly style of football,” Mancini told reporters.

“I hope to keep hearing this and see us go as far as possible in the Serie A table.

“What people say about the way we play doesn’t matter to me. I don’t care what people say. They can judge whether we are playing good or bad and if we can improve.”

“If a team retains possession and scores more goals than the opposition, then they deserve to win the game and we are just trying to do our best to obtain maximum points.

“Sometimes it isn’t easy when you are playing a team with 11 players behind the ball. The numbers are in our favour though and show that we must be doing something right, even if we aren’t Barcelona.

“No team is perfect after six weeks of the season. This team has the right mentality. I respect everyone’s opinions, but I have my own.”
