This car talk section is filled with cabals and babies in adult body.

The reason i always come to this serious because of the detailed travel post I always read and other car discussions but it seems we now have babies everywhere, always trying to derail the thread of anyone who is not in their cabal.

They claim to be educated but they don't act like one, this is the only section on nairaland I'm seeing this kind of rubbish happening and the mod is doing nothing about it.

It's so annoying. angry

Rarely do we see educative posts on cartalk these days. There is one about DIY car painting which is doing quite well without any derailment or mudslinging because the mod warned everyone in that thread to behave. Cabal or no cabal, its such a shame we cant really enjoy the occasional good threads on here.

daddytime I see you pleading on behalf of the agent already? I dont think it has reached that extent yet. Things are still under control
Autos / Re: OLIVERJAID - Where Is Our Container? by soilessfarms: 8:57pm On Feb 11, 2020
You indeed correct sir. Truly, there are good people. I know there are good agents. But like you rightly stated, one bad egg will ruin the rest. The solution is for the Good ones to stand up and be counted. The good ones must speak up, step and call their own to order when they are wrong. For example, there are many agents on this car talk. But you know it was only 1 who took it upon himself to state that the maersk invoice may have been a scam and that the agent's excuse of network challenges at maersk terminal all na wash.

You see sir, humans are fallible. We make mistakes, we fail, we go wrong, we hurt other people. sometimes intentional or unintentionally. But we must learn to know when to stop hurting others. But is all difficult because, unforunately, thats a human failing too. We only can strive to be better. Even that can be a challenge

But at all times we must speak up. That way we could serve as one another's conscience in times like these.

I hope all parties involved can resolve the issues amicably. Agent promised Wednesday....

Thanks @soilssfarm for the correction, do you know of an age which says; "If someone steps on a snake once, everywhere would look like a snake"
There are lots of trusted and reliable agents on this WONDERFUL forum but truth has no home, I pray both parties overcome their ordeal and this will serve as a deterrent to all IMPORTERS looking for cheap labour and also the CUNNING AGENTS who are bent giving false QUOTE without proper findings from the relevant CUSTOMS VALUATION UNIT

It seems he gets patronage, but for some people, it left a bitter taste. Everyone's experience may be different. But, there are reliable agents out there. You can go to sleep and your cargo is taken care of.

Its just unfortunate for some folks not be forthcoming

Are you saying you also used him(Oliver aid) before and from there got more reliable people?

Would those qho cheer you to your doom be there with you when the time comes?

Would those who goaded you on be there to receive the full brunt of the law, when the hammer of justice shall fall?

Or would they turn back and flee, flee like roaches into the darkness, far into the dirt whence they came!

The time of reckoning shall come, make no mistake folks.

Time is illmatic....

Hello my people. Glad to see you all viewing as usual. This shows how interesting this case is for various reasons.

Today is Monday. Officially work starts today.

So, this is the day we all will know how far the agent has gone. We will also know the possibility of the container coming out today or not.

To those working behind the scenes and offline to provide different solutions including legal and law enforcement solutions, keep up the good work.

We are diligently watching...

Thanks for this brilliant input. This would be resolved soon enough one way or the other

GabrielYulaw:

I have been following Amdman for long. Dude wants to make a difference in the automobile sector and I find that to be very admirable. I also love his extreme courtesy and have never known him to lose his temper or to swear. He is always polite, and a total gentleman. I do hope to patronize him someday.

My not commenting so far does not mean I have nothing to say, because I do. From all that I have seen so far it is very obvious that Oliverjaid has absolutely no intention of clearing the container in question, either this week or the next. And I don't think he is as illiterate as he pretends to be. He knows what he is doing- which is to milk as much as is possible from Amdman, regardless of if that will bankrupt him.

The idi0t has no business sense too, because Amdman ships cars here on the regular. That means he only has to do what he gets paid to do and be assured of serious repeat business from Amdman. But no, he just wants to make a one-time big-time gain.

Amdman I do apologize for all this. I hope it won't stop you from doing what you are doing for us all where good cars are concerned. I also hope you know that lots of people here admire and fully support you. I would recommend you take the tough love approach with this guy and escalate matters. Force and severe amounts of it is the only language some Nigerians know and can understand.

@gabrielyulaw you are one of the few people that has been viewing this thread daily from the first page without commenting. I was wondering 'when are all these people gonna comment'? 'They just gonna keep viewing without saying a word'?

Thanks for your input finally. All the viewers i hope you are watching and viewing and can provide unbiased opinions or provide some feedback.

We are not doing this as vendetta. We want to solve the problem without supporting these kinds of actions or behaviors on the forum

Dude has no license as clearing agent. He uses another person's license!

He is not a licensed agent at all. But nothing wrong with that if you can do the job correct. But its bad if you aint got the license and the agent is a mumbling bumbling bunch of incompetence at the same time

Femmy, at what stage can another agent legally take over work from another agent? Is it even possible? Can someone take over from where he stopped? Then law enforcement take over the case for fraud?

Cc Mr. Banji, @ greggng any other person with experience in this area

Many people here have asked this question but success. Mr Banji, Femmy, myself have tried to get an answer, to no avail.

I hope he comes here to answer. Monday approaches in a bit.

amdman:
QUESTIONS FOR OLIVERJAID

1. Till date, you have received the sum of N2,585,325. Provide a breakdown of how this money has been spent
2. How much more do you need to conclude the job, if any?
3. What day will the container be out if No. 2 above is provided?

We are waiting.

Babajide kindly comment on some of these numbered points

femmy2010:

Very often people view fishing out flaws of another Agent as trying to take the accused agent's client.
A response to those below would help in reaching a resolution.

1 Has he gotten an EXIT for the container?
2 What terminal is this container in?
3 How much more needs be paid to take delivery of the container?
4 How many more days would it take him to get the container out?

Autos / Re: OLIVERJAID - Where Is Our Container? by soilessfarms: 5:25pm On Feb 09, 2020
Femmy thanks for your explanation and i am glad to hear you have also been involved in this case offline. I would implore you to perhaps, maybe in conjunction with other 'good' agents on this forum to try to prevail on this agent.

I know that there are certain questions he (agent) has refused to answer. He wants more money without telling us how far he has gone, how much money is required and when the job would be completed.

I feel like he has been economical with the truth and to be honest this os causing a lot of doubts in the minds of nairalan importers about integrity and trustworthiness of our forum agents.

Ideally we would like this issue resolved amicably. But where fraud is involved, the law enforcement would be duly notified

femmy2010:

Mr. Amdman did call me before creating this thread and I did advise that he should be ready to part with additional funding but he must be sure he (Agent) would bring it out without the need for even more funds.
If the shipper and car owners would be parting with more money then it would make sense for agents to let them know what he has done so far, what he wants to do more, when the container would come out and how much more he wants them to drop considering they have spent more than anticipated.
Nobody is here to take anybody job or client but here to prevent people seeing patronising Nairaland Clearing agents as a receipe for STRESS.

My advise for fellow Clearing agents is to always be fast to refund client's money if what was billed can no longer do the job. It is never a must to do all job.

Autos / Re: OLIVERJAID - Where Is Our Container? by soilessfarms: 4:19pm On Feb 09, 2020
Well thats true. For example I think, If i am correct, greggng was the one who first pointed out the fact that the maersk invoice supplied may have been a scam and that there was no problem with the network or maersk terminal

Certainly we can benefit from the inputs of agents with high experience and expertise in this area.

But this is the problem. Much like car dealers, some agents cannot call out their colleagues, even though they noticed some irregularities. Its difficult then to know on whose side anyone is or what anyone's real motivations are.

Some agents had been viewing since the first page. I saw them all. But some just chose to barge in today. But its all good though as long as we get meaningful contributions.

I suggest forwarding all documents to an independent agent/customs officer to verify the authenticity of what the agent is saying.

Smartchoiice:

They can easily verify each statement made by the accused.

Autos / Re: OLIVERJAID - Where Is Our Container? by soilessfarms: 4:02pm On Feb 09, 2020
Pls explain your proposition further. Although i am quite skeptical of involving nairaland agents at this point untill the whole thing is sorter out. Although perhaps there are good agents here with a conscience that can step in 'pro bono'?

Smartchoiice:

The easiest way to solve this issue is to have agents on the same tarmac involved
Autos / Re: OLIVERJAID - Where Is Our Container? by soilessfarms: 3:57pm On Feb 09, 2020
Guys pls lets not lose sight of the main issues here. We want the container out within the one week period agreed upon without payments of additional costs or at best the least costs possible.

We want everyone to take into consideration AmdMan's position as a business owner and his loss of profits

We want you take into consideration the clients postion who may have lost some profits as well

Now having said this. Pls this is not a contest. This is not a contest for other clearing agents on this forum to try to prove they are the best or that they are better human beings than the accused person. I can see some people are already being advertised as the best clearing agents here. It seems some persons are already positioning themselves.

We simply want everyone to put themselves in AmdMan's and the Clients shoes.

At the end of the day, let justice prevail.

Unbelievable man. It has been shown here bu another agent that maersk has no challenges of any kind. Where your own comot from?

As far as i know most terminals will bear the cost of any losses arising from their own default, negligence, etc.

oliverjiad:
keeping quiet doesn't mean I dont know what to say but sir scam or no scam I have paid duty and I have also paid terminal and shipping charges what hes paying is due to his negligence and delay also couple with mearsk line challenges,I think amdman need to call mearsk line out for this not me for delaying his container for over a month for the other doing the transfer or step down after giving 80k from what u charges to sactify a client at the end I'm getting this blame which is not mine

But don't worry oga I swear we go find out using all means necessary. Even if we go go maersk HQ for Rotterdam

Welcome back bro. The thing tire everybody. Make you dey take am jejely sha. Dont take any actions against the man yet. It is good to gather information for future use.But don't involve military yet. We stand to benefit if a criminal complaint is lodged againt him. I think a civil case for delay, consequential loss etc can be instituted against him and the person whose license he is using to cheat people.

For now dont take the laws into your hands bro. But remain vilgilant.

I applaud your investigative skills

Btw: as for legal wealth, no need to bring him into this issue. Pls keep his family and personal information from the internet. He has been through a lot so its quite understandable.
