The President of Nigeria, President Buhari has approved the appointment of nine new Permanent Secretaries in the Federal Civil Service.

The appointment and confirmation was announced in a statement signed by the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs Winifred Oyo-Ita. The President says the swearing-in and assignment of portfolios would be announced soon.

The father of slain girl, Mr. Wilfred Nwovueze, who was killed in Port Harcourt by her boyfriend, Prince Owabie, insists the suspect must marry her corpse.


The victim’s father has insisted that Prince Owabie aka J-BOY, the suspected killer of his pregnant daughter, Betty Nwovueze, must marry her corpse.


He told reporters on Thursday that the marriage is in line with a compulsory traditional rites of Ndele people in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State where the deceased was from. He said:

"I don’t want any problem. That girl is my daughter and what I want the Police to do is to allow this J-Boy of a man or his family members to marry my daughter before they bury her.

All the rites that are due any girl of marriageable age in my community will be done so that there will be no calamity."

Her body has been exhumed by the Rivers state Police Command from the suspect’s apartment and will be deposited in the morgue after which an autopsy will be conducted.

Moments after it was announced that Kevin Hart was going to host the 2019 Academy Awards, internet trolls began to dig up old tweets of Kevin as far back as 2009 and the officials of the award show called Kevin, telling him to delete the tweets and apologies for them.

After he released a video via his Instagram account saying he wasn’t going to apologise, people came at him ranting about his decision.


Kevin who initially refused to apologize for his past homophobic tweets, later apologized and stepped down as the host of the 2019 Academy Awards. He made the announcement via his tweeter account on Thursday night, he wrote:

The King of Saudi Arabia, King Salman, donated 140,468 bags of food items to victims of Boko Haram attacks in Borno and Yobe states.


The Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Engr. Mustapha Maihaja, said in his address at the commencement of distribution of the food items in Teacher Village displaced persons camp in Borno state, Nigeria, disclosed that 125,317 baskets of food items will be distributed by the centre to 33,343 households in designated camps and communities in Borno State over the next four months.


According to a statement by Sani Datti, Head of Media and Public Relations issued on Thursday, Maihaja commended the effort of the Minister of Defence, Retired Brigadier General Mansur Dan Ali, who facilitated food assistance to the North-East.


The statement reads:

"In Borno, a total of 125,372 bags of 25kg of rice and beans and 62,686 cartons of condiments with each containing 4kg semovita, two litres of vegetables oil, 29 sachets of tomatoes, 1kg of salt and two sachets of seasoning will be distributed directly through the combined efforts of NEMA, SEMA and critical stakeholders using the voucher system. Each household of six persons will get a food basket of 59.8kg for the period of one month.

In Yobe, a total of 15,096 bags of 25kg of rice and beans with 7,548 condiments will be distributed to 3,774 households identified to benefit from the gesture, where the total food basket to be distributed was put at 225,685."

Leader of the team, Nasser Alsubaie, an Assistant Director of Emergency Aid From King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre, said the generous donation would benefit more than 840,000 Internally Displaced People in the North-East, as the donation was a testimony of the humanitarian commitment of the centre.


"It will be recalled that early this year, Saudi Arabia pledged to donate the sum of $10m for capacity building to NEMA and relief assistance to the Federal Government to address the food crisis and resultant malnutrition caused by the Boko Haram insurgency in North-East."

A 10-year-old girl has been charged as an adult for killing a 6-month-old baby at a Wisconsin home day care run by her foster parents.

On October 30, the unnamed 10-year-old girl was at her foster parent’s home in Tilden when she allegedly stamped on the baby boy’s head after she dropped him. Chippewa County District Attorney Wade Newell said in court Monday.

The police said that they received a call on October 30 from a caretaker saying that they had found the boy bleeding from the head and unresponsive at a foster care, which doubles as a daycare in Wheaton, Wisconsin.

He was taken to hospital in St Paul Minnesota where he was later pronounced dead two days after. The police questioned four children and an adult and they all pointed at the 10-year-old girl. She was arrested and later she admitted that she hurt the baby.

She said she dropped the baby and he hit his head on a footstool and started crying so she panicked and started stamping on his head. Before the boy’s death, she was staying with her biological parents who operate the daycare centre in the town of Wheaton but has now been placed in foster care.

The Judge in the court said:

"By statute, a 10-year-old or older is required to at least start out the process in adult court, and that’s why we’re here today."

She has been charged with first degree intentional homicide. She appeared in court wearing handcuffs and a black hoodie.Cash bond was set at $50,000 (£38,000) at a court hearing yesterday.

American rapper Rick Ross, and his girlfriend and babymama of one child, earlier today welcomed their second child, a boy who they named Billion Leonard Roberts.

A year ago they had their first child, a baby girl, Berkeley Hermés. Billion is Rick Ross fourth child. The rapper has two other kids, a daughter, Toie Roberts, whose mom is Lastonia Leviston and a son, William Roberts III, whose mother is Tia Kemp.

The 42-year-old rapper shared the news via his Twitter page this morning. He wrote:

A newlywed from Texas, Will Byler and Bailee Ackerman Byler, was killed on Saturday in a helicopter crash outside their wedding reception in Uvalde, Texas.

Houston TV station KTRK reports that Will Byler and Bailee Byler were married on Saturday night at a ranch in Uvalde, about 80 miles (125 kilometers) west of San Antonio. Byler’s grandfather, William Byler, tells the TV station that the couple died when a helicopter that had departed the wedding reception crashed.

The newspaper of the university the couple both attended, Sam Houston State University, made the announcement of the tragedy. The Houstonian wrote on Facebook:

"It is with deepest sadness that we announce the tragic passing of two Bearkats Will Byler (Agriculture Engineering senior) and Bailee Ackerman Byler (Agricultural Communication senior) in a helicopter accident departing their wedding,

We ask that you keep the Byler and Ackerman families in your thoughts and prayers."

In a statement shared via Facebook on Sunday, the Uvalde County Sheriff’s Office said:

 "We received a call from an aviation monitoring center of a possible down aircraft in the area of Northwest Uvalde County.

After further investigation, Uvalde Co. Sheriff’s Office Deputies received coordinates of a possible more direct location of the aircraft in distress,” the statement said. “TX DPS Troopers, Game Wardens, Border Patrol, Uvalde Vol. Fire Dept, and Uvalde EMS arrived in the vicinity of Chalk Bluff Park off HWY 55 to assist with the search. Upon break of day, the accident location was found and the Texas Dept. of Public Safety and the Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the scene."

The Spice girls are officially going on a reunion tour for the first time in a decade, since their breakup in 2000. The girl group is reuniting for their first tour in a decade, but, Victoria Beckham, AKA Posh Spice, won’t be joining her other four groupmates.

The president of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari, appointed Junaid Abdullahi, a retired Army captain, who assumed duties at the agency on October 18.
Junaid who is married to Zulaihat, President Buhari’s first daughter who died in 2012 from childbirth complications at age 40.
Although his appointment was not announced, Junaid has resumed office from his predecessor Jummai Idakwo,

According to a government source, the appointment was not revealed because the president did not want to be accused of nepotism.
The president has faced regular allegations of being sectional since he ressumed office in 2015.

Last week, the presidential candidate of the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria, Oby Ezekwesili, said the president was Nigeria’s most nepotistic leader ever.

The Gambian Ghana-based actress, Shyngle revealed in an interview in August 2018 that she dated Essien for a year before finding out he was a married man. After hearing the news, Essien’s wife, Akosua who is his manager and mother of his two children moved out of their home because of his alleged affair with the actress and they may likely be heading for a divorce too.

The investigation of a bizarre and tragic incident which happened in Makurdi, Benue state, is still being out by the police in the state.


The woman identified as Mrs Adetsav allegedly killed her husband, Nicholas, their three children (Ngwuavese, Senater and Joshua) and then herself at their home on Vandeikya street after a heated argument.


After killing her family members, she rushed out of their apartment to smash her husband’s car and then she went back into the apartment, locked the door and stabbed herself in the chest.


Nicholas who was a staff of the Benue State Local Government Service Commission, was said to have been having marital crisis with his wife. Their neighbours called the police in the night but by that time, it was already late, as the wife had carried out the dastard act.


Th police personnel sent to the house found the man foaming in the mouth, the three kids already dead, and the woman, also dead, was found holding a knife in her hands.


The Police command’s spokesman, Mr Moses Yamu, in an interview with the Newsmen on Saturday, said:

"The man, Mr Nicholas Adetsav, an employee of Makurdi Local Government Council, and his children were killed on Friday night in Makurdi.

His wife, who we believe is responsible for the death of the four people, also killed herself. From information available to us, the woman has been having issues with her husband, which might have culminated in this.

The incident happened around 8.30pm on Friday. From what we have gathered, the couple fought on a daily basis."

A 21-year-old lady who was stabbed 46 times by her husband because she found out he cheated on her, has vowed to wait for him while he serves his time in prison and start a family again with him once he is released.

Shannon Barnard, 21, was stabbed 46 times by her cheating husband, Michael Barnard, 25, and suffered multiple injuries to her limbs and body, including her liver, bowels and both lungs which collapsed and also a lot of substantial scarring which may require skin grafts.

After spending 17 days in the hospital, she later told police she felt every blow and thought she was going to die when he continued stabbing her despite her cries for him to stop. She said:

"I screamed and then somehow I was in the front room. After he stabbed me I dropped to the floor. His dad was still on the phone and I was screaming ‘He’s got a knife’."

The incident reportedly occurred in their home in England after she discovered he cheated on her.

Michael’s sentencing hearing for attempted murder in Maidstone Crown Court in Kent heard 2-days-ago, left everyone stunned with Shannon’s response when asked where she saw their future. She answered:

"Just to be together and have the life that we both want with each other and have a family."

The court heard she had also been visiting Barnard in prison ‘on every occasion possible’, and plans to see him twice a week. She agreed with his barrister David Taylor that he had told her he was sorry and how much he loved her. When asked if she forgave him, she replied: “Of course.”

Jailing Barnard, Judge Philip Statman said:

"Your wife was extraordinarily lucky to have survived this ordeal. The reason why she did so was down to the very quick medical response together with the extraordinary skill of the surgeons who undoubtedly in my judgment saved her life."

The Federal Government of Nigeria called for the extension of Google Station’s free WiFi services to markets in Nigeria.


The Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo made this announcement in Lagos on Friday while opening the 32nd Lagos International Trade Fair.

He said:

"We are currently facilitating an innovative product being rolled out by Google, the Google Station where free WiFi is provided in public places. So we now have Google Station in six different locations, including Palms Shopping Mall, Landmark Centre, the University of Lagos, MM2, the domestic airport, computer village and Ikeja City Mall.

But for us, the more interesting part of it is that we are asking them to roll out in markets across Nigeria. So, in the next few months, they will be in Onitsha Main Market; in Gbagi, Ibadan; in Kuto Market in Abeokuta; in the Kaduna Central Market, Sura Market and Lagos/Abuja international airport by the end of the year."

He said by giving the masses free WIFI in public places and in the market, it will make people perform their businesses well and also receive information.

In his welcome speech, the President, Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr Babatunde Ruwase, said the theme of the trade fair, ‘Connecting businesses, creating value,’ was chosen to underscore the importance of relationships and interactions among businesses for the purpose of wealth creation.

He said:

"It is also to underline the value of interactions between producers and service providers, and the end users."

The Chairman, Trade Promotion Board, LCCI, Mr Gabriel Idahosa, said exhibitors would get full benefits of participating in the fair. He said:

"They will expand their business horizon through the development of new partnerships, new customers, feedback from their consumers and showcasing their products, not just to the Nigerian market but also to continental and global markets."

The West African Examination Council, WAEC, has explained why they did not give President Muhammadu Buhari his attestation of result in 2015.

The WAEC Registrar, Iyi Uwadiae, on Friday presented the attestation of results to Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. Shortly after pictures of the presentation went viral, Nigerians started questioning why WAEC did not give President Buhari his result back in 2015, and WAEC replied:

“What happened was that Move On. Nigeria went to Ghana to ask for a record that is in Nigeria. Was the exam done in Ghana? And for the avoidance of doubt, only the candidate and a court of competent jurisdiction can ask the Council for any certificate/result.”
