North Korea's leader Kim Jong-un has appeared with his young daughter in public for the first time, confirming long-rumoured reports of her existence.

The girl, believed to be named Kim Chu-ae, joined him at an inspection of the country's largest intercontinental ballistic missile launch on Friday.

The pair stood hand-in-hand during the test, which was condemned by the US.

Mr Kim leads one of the world's most secretive states, and very little is known about his personal life.

Several photos were published by North Korea's state news agency KCNA, showing the two holding hands while they chat, speak with officials, inspect missiles and watch the launch from a viewing deck.

Chu-ae's public appearance is significant, said Michael Madden, a North Korea expert from the Stimson Center in Washington DC.

Mr Kim - the third generation in his family to lead North Korea - is showing elites in his country that he still has a firm grip on power, Mr Madden told the BBC.

He said it could be Mr Kim's way of showing "that the fourth generation of power succession is going to come through my [blood]line".

It came after reports that "there was some sort of conflict between [Mr Kim] and other elite cohorts in 2021", Mr Madden explained.

"If you challenge me, you're going to go down," is the message from Mr Kim, he said.

Mr Madden said he believed Chu-ae was aged between 12 and 13, which meant that in about four to five years she will be preparing to go to university or into military service.

In September, several North Korea experts reported that Chu-ae was shown in a video at the country's National Day celebrations.

But this was speculation, and the North Korean leadership did not confirm that it was indeed the leader's daughter.

The first time Chu-ae's existence was ever mentioned was in 2013, after retired American basketball star Dennis Rodman made a controversial trip to North Korea.

Mr Rodman said he had spent time with Mr Kim's family, relaxing by the sea and had "held their baby Chu-ae".

Experts believe Mr Kim may have as many as three children - two girls and a boy, with Chu-ae being the oldest.

But the leader is extremely secretive about his family - even his wife Ri Sol-ju was kept a secret until some time after the pair married.

It has been reported that popular singer Davido and his partner, Chioma have secretly done their traditional wedding. This is coming weeks after the couple lost their three-year-old son, Ifeanyi who drowned in a swimming pool in the artiste’s Banana island mansion in Lagos.

The traditional wedding, which was attended by few family and friends reportedly held on 6 November in Davido’s father’s house, with no camera allowed. Chioma’s bride price was paid in full.

Though Davido, before his son’s untimely death had earlier informed the public that he and Chioma would get married in 2023, the traditional wedding had to be moved forward following the tragedy that recently befell the celebrity couple.
It was reported that Chioma, following her son’s death, had told Davido that there was nothing more left for her to be looking at as the son that bound them together was no more.

Davido had to move the traditional wedding forward ostensibly to console Chioma and give her assurance that, without or without a son, her place is assured. Davido’s family is doing everything to make the couple happy.

Both couple are still mourning, and Chioma has lost so much weight. A recent photo that revealed Davido having a haircut in his first public outing showed his eyes swollen from profuse tears.

Chioma, on her part is still trying to come to terms with the death of her son. Few weeks before her son’s death, her personal room was gutted by a mysterious fire. The cause of the fire remains unknown till date.

An Iranian man who lived in a Paris airport for 18 years has died.

Caught in a diplomatic limbo, Mehran Karimi Nasseri made a small area of Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport his home in 1988.

His experience inspired the 2004 film, The Terminal, starring Tom Hanks.

Mr Nasseri was eventually given the right to live in France, but he ended up returning to the airport a few weeks ago, where he died of natural causes, an airport official told AFP.

Born in 1945 in the Iranian province of Khuzestan, Mr Nasseri first flew to Europe in search of his mother.

He spent some years living in Belgium, having been expelled from countries including the UK, the Netherlands and Germany for not having the correct immigration documents. He then went to France, where he made the airport's 2F Terminal his home.

Nestled on his bench surrounded by trolleys containing the possessions he had accumulated, he spent his days writing about his life in a notebook and reading books and newspapers.

His story attracted international media attention and caught the eye of Stephen Spielberg, who directed The Terminal, starring Hanks and Catherine Zeta-Jones.

After the film's release, journalists flocked to speak with the man who had inspired a Hollywood movie. At one point, Mr Nazzeri, who called himself "Sir Alfred," was giving up to six interviews a day, Le Parisien reports.

Despite being granted refugee status and the right to remain in France in 1999, he stayed at the airport until 2006, when he was taken to hospital to be treated for an illness. He then spent time living in a hostel using the money he had received for the film, French newspaper Libération reports.

Mr Nasseri returned to the airport a few weeks ago, where he lived until he died, an airport official said.

He was found with several thousands euros in his possession, the official added.

Victor Osimhen’s 32nd Serie A goal for Napoli on Saturday has seen him emerge as Nigeria’s most prolific goalscorer in the Italian championship ever, The PUNCH reports.

Unknown gunmen, yesterday, attacked Tompolo’s Pipeline Surveillance boat, Tantita, assigned to Tuomo Unit and headed by the traditional prime minister of Tuomo Kingdom in Delta State, High Chief Mike Loyibo, and made away with its 200 horse power engine.

Tantita is the company that recently won a multi-billion contract to protect crude oil pipelines in the Niger Delta  against oil thieves and headed by a former militant leader, Government Ekpenupolo, aka Tompolo.

The incident occurred at Aleibiri community in Ekeremor Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, a few hours after Loyibo and his team went to visit Henry Azazi, the new Coordinator of Aleibiri Unit.   Our source disclosed that Azazi went to resume office, yesterday, after Gen. Gowon Abenzi, his predecessor, was relieved of his position.

However, Azazi was reported to have swung into action and asked everyone to be calm, noting he would unravel the perpetrators of the attack and theft.

Contacted, Loyibo’s community source at Tuomo, who pleaded anonymity, said: “Yes, it happened yesterday at Aleibiri, a neighbouring community in Bayelsa State. They made away with both the 200 HP engine and boat and we’ve launched a search operation to recover it.

“We know the perpetrators and we’ll recover it by any means necessary”.

Former President of the United States, Donald Trump has hinted that he may contest for the office of the president in 2024 and stage a comeback to the White House.

Trump disclosed this where a crowd gathered in Iowa on Thursday while speaking at the first of four rallies in five days in his campaigns for Republican candidates in next week’s midterm elections.

The former Republican President has been subpoenaed by the January 6th Committee for not calling to order his alleged mob of supporters over the invasion of the Capitol Building on January 6, 2021, when he lost to President Joe Biden in the 2020 elections.

He reiterated his baseless claim that he lost in 2020 because of widespread election fraud, as per Reuters.

“I ran twice,” he said. “I won twice and did much better the second time than I did the first, getting millions more votes in 2020 than I got in 2016.

“And likewise, getting more votes than any sitting president in the history of our country by far.

“And now in order to make our country successful, and safe and glorious, I will very, very, very probably do it again. Very soon. Get ready,” Trump said to the cheering crowd.

Reports revealed that Trump won the most votes ever – 72 million – for a sitting president in 2020, but still lost to his challenger then and now president, Biden, a Democrat, who polled 81 million.

One person has died and at least four others have been injured - some seriously - in a stabbing in a supermarket near Milan, northern Italy, reports say.

They say an employee of the Carrefour supermarket died after a man started attacking people in the town of Assago.

Among the injured was Pablo Mari, a football player on loan from Arsenal.

A 46-year-old suspect has been detained. The motive for the attack is not yet clear.
