emebeteaderashn: hello house does any body now about dv lottery winners joining the military any related info will help me so pls tell me what ever u know guys
Register With the Selective Service If you are a man and you are 18 to 26 years old, you must register with the Selective Service. When you register, you tell the government that you are available to serve in the U.S. Armed Forces. The United States does not have a military draft now. This means that permanent residents and citizens do not have to serve in the Armed Forces unless they want to. You can register at a United States post office or on the Internet. To register for Selective Service on the Internet, visit the Selective Service website: http://www.sss.gov. To speak with someone from the Selective Service, call 847-688-6888.This is not a free call. You can also find information on the USCIS website http://www.uscis.gov.

mohamed shire:
ok sis thanks, i am in Hargeisa, can UN office help me to come over.
CAN I ASK THE HOSPITAL WHICH I HAVE MY MEDICAL EXAMINATION,I MEAN (IOM IN NAIROBI) TO GIVE A VISA TO ARRIVE IN NAIROBI
what about my english score less than C, but having 6 other subjects above C.
yes the UN can tell you how to go about i am very sure or ask IOM Nairobi about it. They know how it is done. About the English being less than a C it is tricky because someone just got denied visa because he had a D in English but this is KCSE and not IGCSE dont worry alot when you get to the embassy you will be told how to go about it before you even pay the visa fee.

mohamed shire: .

yes, i am very rare in the forum but that does not mean that i am not generous, i like to help others but i do not know more about this programme, that is why my questions are more than my answers, and i do not what to give some body a doubt answer. but sorry if questions are over the limit my sister it is only of getting the right path.

my sister, my English grade score is lower than C, but i have 6 other subjects which i scored above C, so does that one have a problem on me.

the second question, i did not mean how to get the US embassy but i do mean how to arrive in Nairobi because as i was told it needs a visa, so how can i get that visa to arrive in Nairobi, that is what do i mean.
i also answered your e-mail.
Please ask around if there is a Kenyan office in Mogadisho or any UN office they will guide you on how to come over. Kindly use a flight it will be more easy and comfortable than road because via road we have many illegal Somalis coming in and they get arrested (Most people arrive in Kenya without any papers.) and even bandits at the boarder might harass you and take all your belongings.

mohamed shire: hi every body i ust wna know, i have IGCSE certificate from Edexcel, so is that certificate is acceptable

that other thing that i want to know is how can i get a visa to get in NAIROBI which is where i will have my interview because my country does not have embassy
First of all you are very rare in the forum Please be generous and also read about other posts. I sent you an email you havent said a thing but let me help where i can coz some people are born to receive only.
IGCSE is acceptable and i hope you scored more than a minimum that is you have above C and if you took english you scored above C OR you had 5 passes at grade C, but dont you worry the moment you get at the embassy you will be asked about your grades before you are allowed to pay for the visa.
I assume the second question you want to know how to get to the Embassy in Nairobi. If you will be sleeping in town centre i will advice you to take a taxi to the Embassy of the United States of America, United Nations Avenue, Gigiri, Nairobi. I advised you to take a taxi because you are new and you might not know how to mingle with the Nairobians.
NOTE: In Nairobi you need to have the full address of your host and if possible a letter from him/her that they will take care of you till you stabilize, dont bother about the affidavit of support. Please tell us how the interview will be. Good luck

ksjlar: It is very possible. If you mean searching for jobs outside the USA. I tried it and got like 3 interviews already. God willing one will work out. Thanks.
I am interested in jobs in the USA, i was hoping that my husband can use this chance to apply for as many as possible by the time we get there he has something to do. Another Quiz: Is it easy to enroll in the University for PHD and what is the procedure he needs to do it as well from here.

House Approves STEM Legislation

House Approves STEM Legislation

Washington, D.C. – The House of Representatives today approved the STEM Jobs Act (H.R. 6429) by a vote of 245-139. This bill eliminates the diversity visa program and reallocates up to 55,000 new green cards to the most highly qualified foreign graduates of American universities with advanced degrees in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields. The bill also contains a provision to put families first, allowing the spouses and minor children of legal permanent residents to come to the U.S. after waiting one year for their green cards. Chairman Smith praised today’s vote in the statement below.

Chairman Smith: “Many of the world’s top students come to the U.S. to obtain advanced degrees in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) subjects. We could boost economic growth and spur job creation by allowing American employers to more easily hire some of the most qualified foreign graduates of U.S. universities. These students have the ability to start a company that creates jobs or come up with an invention that could jump-start a whole new industry.

“In a global economy, we cannot afford to educate these foreign graduates in the U.S. and then send them back home to work for our competitors. For America to remain the world’s economic leader, we must have access to the world’s best talent. The STEM Jobs Act makes our immigration system smarter by eliminating the diversity visa program and reallocating up to 55,000 new green cards to the best foreign graduates with advanced degrees in STEM fields. This legislation will help us create jobs, increase our competitiveness, and spur our innovation.

“Changes have been made to the bill that will improve our immigration system. The bill puts families first, allowing the spouses and minor children of legal permanent residents to come to the U.S. after waiting one year for their green cards. The current green card waiting list is over two years and it has been much longer in the past. This provision will help keep families together rather than leave them miles apart while waiting to legally come to the U.S.”

Spoondar:
I would want to go for a nursing school and i hear BSN is the best level to acquire in nursing. How long does one take to do this coarse? And will you compare it with IT in terms of money and getting jobs because am an IT profession but not by choice.

adzovia:
IT is great. this country strives on technology. but if you want nursing start with the CNA first. whiles working you can be going to nursing school

babbs45: Yes, BSN is the best level to acquire in nursing. It is a four year program. You use the first two years for your prerequisites and the last two years for the real nursing course. I think the best route is to start with CNA whiles you take your prerequisites at a community college and then transfer as junior to a university to finish your program. This route is also cheaper than going straight to the university. The demand for RN is very high and pay very good.

babbs45: And also, the CNA program is a very good start for those aspiring to be registered nurse.

adzovia: you are right cause they can be working and still going to nursing school. it also gives them credit so instead of for example 3 years of nursing school they might end up doing 2 years. there is always a demand for CNA's everywhere in the states

Thank you babbs45 and adzovia for the above information you people are GREAT!

adzovia: when u get there ask your host. but let me tell u that some hosts wont want you to do that cause that is what some of them are doing. they feel you wont respect them if you start earning as them. but you can google for CNA courses in your area

We thank GOD you have opened our eyes ooo

idoo4love: All thanks to God for his favour and mercies. I got to d embassy at about 8.am and I had to wait cos my interview was scheduled for 10am . I paid 300 naira for d chair cos my friend accompanied me .Went in at about 9.45am and I was given a blue card . Several security check and I even had to remove my belt . I was called by a black man but I told him I was yet to pay and dat the cashier was not on seat. So he called her to attend to us. I made payments (54,500) and was told to seat. Ahhh I Sat down for over 3hours and I listened to several interview sections. You go fear God ooooooo. At about 2.10pm I was called to window 13 and joy filled my heart . So......

Me : gud afternoon and welcome back (cos she went on break)...
Co : gud afternoon and thank you.
Co: What's your year of birth
Me : kkkkkkk
Co: bt in your application it says .....
Me: it was an human error and I attached a letter to d forms I sent .
Co :okay What do u do now
Me : am a student
Co : which skul
Me : kkkkkk
Co : course
Me : kkkkkkk
Co : level
Me : kkkkkkk
Co : wow
Co : tell me about d courses u're offering dis semester
Me : kkkkk (and even d 1 I did last semester cos couldn't remember and den I had to jst say somtin without waiting a second )
Co : tell me about "iiiiii" course
Me : kkkk (jst said sumtin relating to d course wit boldness lol)
Co : okay congratulations (she picked up a typed document and circled d address... Go to that address and pick up ur passport) and she gave me back my original documents .
Me : thank you (I jst packed my documents and ja commot for there b4 dem go con call me back dey throw me question lol )..
And guess want all these didn't last up to 6mins . My God is a God of perfection ..HE KNOWS MY NAME,HE SEES ALL AND HAS D KEY IN HIS HANDS..

LESSON DERIVED :
1. Master ur olevel "i.e. Waec" welllla even if u av a bsc cos d woman in window 16 likes asking questions on it. I witnessed a lady's interview and she was denied "sad".
2. When ever u pray, always tell God u want d Co that will grant u ur visa regardless of d "window"..And God will prove himself strong in ur life... Even if u are to be interviewed by d lady in window 16.... Like sum1 will always say here ,"FAITH WORK WONDERS" ... Be bold and make sure u say something even if u're not sure. D Co dos nt knw ur lectures, pastors ,courses ,friends and family in ur photo album etc (incase dem ask for names....jst say something meaningful.... They jst wanna hear from u.. That's all...infact I mentioned a topic as course.
Once again special thanks to boss Temmy for his selfless support, care ,callssssss , mails, in fact he helped me with a sample of d letter I attached. imagine that... How on earth will I forget u and ur good works. God bless u and ur family. May he be there for u all d time . And to every1 here (even d dv 2011 winners) I say a very "BIG" thank you to u all. Ur posts and comments really helped.
Above all PRAY AND THRUST IN GOD..He's working on ur case .. HE his d master key!!!
Congratulations and many thanks to your Lesson Derived points.

i have no idea but i will advice anyone coming to have more then $1500 on them when you come you enroll in a course called CNA that is community nursing assistance. it does not take 3 weeks and job is guaranteed the pay is good. you can be doing that whiles applying for other jobs or furthering your education
I would want to go for a nursing school and i hear BSN is the best level to acquire in nursing. How long does one take to do this coarse? And will you compare it with IT in terms of money and getting jobs because am an IT profession but not by choice.

A gentleman humbles himself like that. You are extra ordinary!! The more you humble yourself the more respect you gain.
If you want to stop the conflicts in your life, if you want to get along with other people, then you have to learn to ask forgiveness from God and from those you hurt. James 4:8 says, “Wash your hands ... and purify your hearts”. Our hands represent our conduct, and our hearts represent our attitude.

enxto2000: His Everbody, my name is Erico from Ghana. I entered the lottery as a single person and was selected. I got married later in the same fiscal year. My wife decided to stay behind for some reasons. i filled my first NL and indicate that i am married on my DS230 form but did not fill one for my wife since she is not going with me .Now the 2NL came with her name as the beneficiary. Is it possible that way, cos i did not fill ds230 for her i only indicate her name and just some few info about her on my ds230.
How is that going to affect my visa. must i go to the interview with her or should include only the marriage cert and other document. But we have all agreed she stay back. how am i going to convince the C.O. if am asked... why is you wife not going with you? Guy pls am very hot cos i need you advice. my inteview is just next week
If you dont go with her you will be denied the visa so you need to fill in a DS230 form of her and send it to KCC or go with it to your consulate office becuase they now have her name in their records. Pay for her visa fee and let her remain coz you have agreed that she stays but it is better that her information be put in record incase she wants to join you.

Majority of muslims dont take photos by the way, I am thinking that you are a muslim. Anyway that was a tricky denial but God has many more great things for you in store just search your heart and do something again. All the best

Many people dont know about the Canadian Immigration thing, i dont know if still the Application for Permanent Residence –Provincial Nominee Program to Canada is on because it was put on halt that is why we applied for the US Dv Lottery coz initially we really wanted to immigrate to Canada. Canada encourages applications for permanent residence from people with abilities, education and work experience that will contribute to the Canadian economy. The Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) allows provincial governments to choose immigrants according to the economic needs of the province. Before you can apply to immigrate to Canada as a provincial nominee, you must first be nominated by a province or territory. Like soye35 says if Manitoba Province is good to go let Sakeem try it out because you go with your family as well. grin grin

If you keep giving bribe and complaining about corruption then you are as bad as those collecting the bribe. Don't help them make things even more difficult for generations to come. You are part of the problem and have only you to blame.
Gentiger:
Do you really know what bribery means? I can see you are getting it twisted. When you intend to induce an individual with money to escape a guilty verdict of the law or to influence them into doing what would be considered illegal in the eyes of the law, that's bribery. Please bend some of these strict rules to make it easier for the forumites.
justwise:
You really need dictionary more than i do, when you give money or gift to alter somebody's behaviour/views/judgement then that is bribery. When you give a police officer money through unofficial means to facilitated a service then that is bribery.

I'm not ready to bend any rule, no number dropping or email dropping for some dodgy dealings please.

LET IT BE!!! undecided just liv it for people to decide, otherwise it is someone's wish to give or not to give.

Gentiger:

If you pay the government rate (official cost) for anything, you must be prepared to wait for the NORMAL time established by LAW for processing. You could wait for 6 months for your International Passport if you pay the official rate. 2 weeks minimum for NPC birth certificate if you pay N2500. That's the system we find ourselves in. Now the question is, who is willing to wait?

My brother, let's not pretend about it, even your tithes, offerings, seed faith etc gives you accelerated hearing before God and miraculous interventions in your earthly affairs. 'Winks'
Same here in Kenya if you say you aint going to remove a cent to fasten your documents it will take even much longer than what is supposed but wen you pay alittle bit things are done faster faster. I hear him and have tried to do so but my friend they will make you WAIT indeed. hahahahaha they know what they are doing and so are you. Any way this is Africa and maybe God will free us from such channels one day but NOT 2013 i beg.
