emebeteaderashn: hello house does any body now about dv lottery winners joining the military any related info will help me so pls tell me what ever u know guysRegister With the Selective Service If you are a man and you are 18 to 26 years old, you must register with the Selective Service. When you register, you tell the government that you are available to serve in the U.S. Armed Forces. The United States does not have a military draft now. This means that permanent residents and citizens do not have to serve in the Armed Forces unless they want to. You can register at a United States post office or on the Internet. To register for Selective Service on the Internet, visit the Selective Service website: http://www.sss.gov. To speak with someone from the Selective Service, call 847-688-6888.This is not a free call. You can also find information on the USCIS website http://www.uscis.gov. |

mohamed shire:yes the UN can tell you how to go about i am very sure or ask IOM Nairobi about it. They know how it is done. About the English being less than a C it is tricky because someone just got denied visa because he had a D in English but this is KCSE and not IGCSE dont worry alot when you get to the embassy you will be told how to go about it before you even pay the visa fee. |
Travel / Re: DV 2013 Winners Meet Here by Spoondar(f): 6:11pm On Jan 10, 2013 |
mohamed shire: .Please ask around if there is a Kenyan office in Mogadisho or any UN office they will guide you on how to come over. Kindly use a flight it will be more easy and comfortable than road because via road we have many illegal Somalis coming in and they get arrested (Most people arrive in Kenya without any papers.) and even bandits at the boarder might harass you and take all your belongings. |

mohamed shire: hi every body i ust wna know, i have IGCSE certificate from Edexcel, so is that certificate is acceptableFirst of all you are very rare in the forum Please be generous and also read about other posts. I sent you an email you havent said a thing but let me help where i can coz some people are born to receive only. IGCSE is acceptable and i hope you scored more than a minimum that is you have above C and if you took english you scored above C OR you had 5 passes at grade C, but dont you worry the moment you get at the embassy you will be asked about your grades before you are allowed to pay for the visa. I assume the second question you want to know how to get to the Embassy in Nairobi. If you will be sleeping in town centre i will advice you to take a taxi to the Embassy of the United States of America, United Nations Avenue, Gigiri, Nairobi. I advised you to take a taxi because you are new and you might not know how to mingle with the Nairobians. NOTE: In Nairobi you need to have the full address of your host and if possible a letter from him/her that they will take care of you till you stabilize, dont bother about the affidavit of support. Please tell us how the interview will be. Good luck |

Spoondar: Things are getting rough these sides, This is to the people in USA, can one start searching for a job online while we are still in Africa? I thought having a job waiting for you there is cool or what is your take in this. ksjlar: It is very possible. If you mean searching for jobs outside the USA. I tried it and got like 3 interviews already. God willing one will work out. Thanks.I am interested in jobs in the USA, i was hoping that my husband can use this chance to apply for as many as possible by the time we get there he has something to do. Another Quiz: Is it easy to enroll in the University for PHD and what is the procedure he needs to do it as well from here. |

House Approves STEM Legislation For Immediate Release November 30, 2012 Contact: Jessica Baker,(202) 225-3951 House Approves STEM Legislation Washington, D.C. – The House of Representatives today approved the STEM Jobs Act (H.R. 6429) by a vote of 245-139. This bill eliminates the diversity visa program and reallocates up to 55,000 new green cards to the most highly qualified foreign graduates of American universities with advanced degrees in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields. The bill also contains a provision to put families first, allowing the spouses and minor children of legal permanent residents to come to the U.S. after waiting one year for their green cards. Chairman Smith praised today’s vote in the statement below. Chairman Smith: “Many of the world’s top students come to the U.S. to obtain advanced degrees in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) subjects. We could boost economic growth and spur job creation by allowing American employers to more easily hire some of the most qualified foreign graduates of U.S. universities. These students have the ability to start a company that creates jobs or come up with an invention that could jump-start a whole new industry. “In a global economy, we cannot afford to educate these foreign graduates in the U.S. and then send them back home to work for our competitors. For America to remain the world’s economic leader, we must have access to the world’s best talent. The STEM Jobs Act makes our immigration system smarter by eliminating the diversity visa program and reallocating up to 55,000 new green cards to the best foreign graduates with advanced degrees in STEM fields. This legislation will help us create jobs, increase our competitiveness, and spur our innovation. “Changes have been made to the bill that will improve our immigration system. The bill puts families first, allowing the spouses and minor children of legal permanent residents to come to the U.S. after waiting one year for their green cards. The current green card waiting list is over two years and it has been much longer in the past. This provision will help keep families together rather than leave them miles apart while waiting to legally come to the U.S.” To read more about the STEM Jobs Act, visit http://judiciary.house.gov/news/STEM%20Bill%20Passed.html |

Spoondar: I would want to go for a nursing school and i hear BSN is the best level to acquire in nursing. How long does one take to do this coarse? And will you compare it with IT in terms of money and getting jobs because am an IT profession but not by choice. adzovia: babbs45: Yes, BSN is the best level to acquire in nursing. It is a four year program. You use the first two years for your prerequisites and the last two years for the real nursing course. I think the best route is to start with CNA whiles you take your prerequisites at a community college and then transfer as junior to a university to finish your program. This route is also cheaper than going straight to the university. The demand for RN is very high and pay very good. babbs45: And also, the CNA program is a very good start for those aspiring to be registered nurse. adzovia: you are right cause they can be working and still going to nursing school. it also gives them credit so instead of for example 3 years of nursing school they might end up doing 2 years. there is always a demand for CNA's everywhere in the states Thank you babbs45 and adzovia for the above information you people are GREAT! adzovia: when u get there ask your host. but let me tell u that some hosts wont want you to do that cause that is what some of them are doing. they feel you wont respect them if you start earning as them. but you can google for CNA courses in your area We thank GOD you have opened our eyes ooo |

junkerhill: Hello everybdy. I'm very sorry on my last post.... "ADDING SALT TO INJURY". For those who felt offended and dis appointed, I'm sorry. I actually tot I was acting on sakeem's interest. And I appreciate hw I was cautioned immediately. Its only a bad friend that will see u doing something bad and will not caution u. For my benefit and benefit of those who are yet to get their 2NL, let it be behind us. I can't deny d fact that this forum has been of immense help to lots of ppl. Thanks for ur understanding.A gentleman humbles himself like that. You are extra ordinary!! The more you humble yourself the more respect you gain. If you want to stop the conflicts in your life, if you want to get along with other people, then you have to learn to ask forgiveness from God and from those you hurt. James 4:8 says, “Wash your hands ... and purify your hearts”. Our hands represent our conduct, and our hearts represent our attitude. |

enxto2000: His Everbody, my name is Erico from Ghana. I entered the lottery as a single person and was selected. I got married later in the same fiscal year. My wife decided to stay behind for some reasons. i filled my first NL and indicate that i am married on my DS230 form but did not fill one for my wife since she is not going with me .Now the 2NL came with her name as the beneficiary. Is it possible that way, cos i did not fill ds230 for her i only indicate her name and just some few info about her on my ds230.If you dont go with her you will be denied the visa so you need to fill in a DS230 form of her and send it to KCC or go with it to your consulate office becuase they now have her name in their records. Pay for her visa fee and let her remain coz you have agreed that she stays but it is better that her information be put in record incase she wants to join you. |

soye35: @saakeem2003:Bro am really sorry for ur wife dv visa refusal ,but do u believe in God that's the alpha and omega? u can get there if u really mean to achieve ur dream goal in America, why dont u apply for those free tuition's school in Europe and go for either your msc or better still send your wife,u dont pay a dime but only ur school book and student associate due which is a token, this days school package is as good as DV lottery,go to www.findaschool.org and apply to finland ,Sweden or Norway,i bet u with your level and concept,u have no reason to be sad that u were denied the lottery visa, there are 1001 ways to get there,if its work and stay in Canada u want then u need to try Manitoba package, its required that u get someone in Manitoba that will signed undertaking for u and must be a resident in Manitoba,i think u need to hook on this forum for more advice and concept,i know how much u must have invested on the dv but i pray that may God in his mercy provide a way out for u and put smiles on ur face once again. Many people dont know about the Canadian Immigration thing, i dont know if still the Application for Permanent Residence –Provincial Nominee Program to Canada is on because it was put on halt that is why we applied for the US Dv Lottery coz initially we really wanted to immigrate to Canada. Canada encourages applications for permanent residence from people with abilities, education and work experience that will contribute to the Canadian economy. The Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) allows provincial governments to choose immigrants according to the economic needs of the province. Before you can apply to immigrate to Canada as a provincial nominee, you must first be nominated by a province or territory. Like soye35 says if Manitoba Province is good to go let Sakeem try it out because you go with your family as well. 1 Like |

justwise: If you keep giving bribe and complaining about corruption then you are as bad as those collecting the bribe. Don't help them make things even more difficult for generations to come. You are part of the problem and have only you to blame. Gentiger:Same here in Kenya if you say you aint going to remove a cent to fasten your documents it will take even much longer than what is supposed but wen you pay alittle bit things are done faster faster. I hear him and have tried to do so but my friend they will make you WAIT indeed. hahahahaha they know what they are doing and so are you. Any way this is Africa and maybe God will free us from such channels one day but NOT 2013 i beg. |
