Politics / Re: Hamisu Abubakar, The Man Trekking From Lagos To Abuja Now In FCT by stanzo: 2:29pm On Apr 21, 2015
cutieemperorh:

If 25km is the distance between Owo junction and Ikare Akoko in Ondo state (like the big sign post at the junction suggest) then I swear to God, no one can trek from owo junction to ikare in a day and do so continuously for 20 days non-stop, so your theory of covering 30km every day is either a wishful thinking or a vast display of ignorance...

You said a marathon race is a little over 26km, and is completed in 2hrs, but u fail to ask yourself, does a marathon racer run a marathon of 26km every day for 20 days, I put it to you that if anyone races a marathon of 26km in 2hrs for 5 days non-stop he or she will not only loose considerable amount of body weight, he or she will also need medical attention after the fifth day.

Talking about the army infantry unit doing their fighting on foot and covering long distances in the process, well, I'm sure u must have heard of army infantry units building camps along their ways and settling down in such camps to recuperate, treat the wounded, wait for instruction and ammunitions and also food supplies. They could stay in such camps for as long as weeks, and the distances are sure not covered in 20 days (covering distances are never the aim, wars are not marathons)

Well maybe a refugee in the boarder towns of bornu state will trek into chad in days or even hours(some of this towns are said to be a few miles to our neighboring countries) but I'm sure you are not implying that a Kenya refugee will trek into Italy in 20 days.

Believe me, I also thought this guy's feat (trekking from lagos to Abuja in 20 days) is attainable, until u gave the break down that he will have to trek 30km continuously everyday to achieve that.. Guy, I repeat, if truely the distance between Owo junction and Ikare Akoko in Ondo state is 25km then that is bullshit....

If anyone told me about someone that is trekking from Owo junction to Ikare Akoko and 5km more every day, I sure wouldn't believe it and if u do, that's your cup of tea...

IGNORANCE is MULTITHREADED....
He trekked by day (8 hrs) and rested and ate for the remaining part of the day and night (16hrs). How difficult is that? You are still using your laziness as a yardstick to judge others. tongue

fishbone11:

Your analysis is a lie from the pit of hell, do u know what it takes for someone to trek from Songo Oga to Lekki? or Apapa to Ibadan? even an athlete will faint cos of excessive accumulation of pyruvic acid in the muscle.
Nigerians are a bunch of lazy folks and use themselves as comparisons to others.:
1. A marathon race is a little over 26 kilometers. Yet it is done under two hrs all over the world.
2. The army infantry unit does their fighting on foot, yet they cover several towns in a few days
3. During WWII the German Infantry advanced from country to country entirely on foot
4. refugees move from one country to another entirely on foot
5. Before the advent of transportation, rural dwellers complete their journey entirely on foot.
6. Google has made researches very easy, so read up what you don't understand before coming here to make assertive statements based on your ignorance.

I didn't get much done today, as my wife had to go out, meaning I had to keep an eye on my kids. Between babysitting duties, I did manage to get the nearside front and rear fender flares fitted.

I think they look pretty good. Fitting was cake - as they should be, they ARE genuine Toyota items. I think back on the fibre glass flares I bought off eBay, from a seller in Cyprus, and how much work would be required to get the rears to fit. *grimaces*

Some pictures showing the nearside:

The flares was a really good idea. It's given the truck a muscular look. Good idea. Great transformation.

He only asked an inteligent question and you have concluded that he's trying to be clever. If you have no answers to his questions, simply say.

I was also going ti ask, how do you protect your rabbits from cats? From the pictures you provided earlier, your farm is an open farm, not really natural i must say...
Sorry, I did not see this post earlier. The person who asked the question new why he asked the question, hence he failed to make any comments regarding my reply.
On your second comment, as you would have seen from my website, my farm is a modern farm, hence it is completely fenced with a concrete perimeter fence with a steel entrance gates. So no questions of pests of any kind accessing it.
Thanks.

bushdoc9919: [size=28pt]Once again, Nigerians show how little they know.

No one is critiquing the builders/contractors.No one is asking why the regulatory agencies failed to stop the construction of the unauthorized building. No one is asking why we have so few master technicians/masons/artisans.No one is asking why the Church did not hire the right kind of people...or why they illegally converted two to six story.

Instead we are talking about strange plane.

What does plane have to do with building collapsing?

Why can't we blame ourselves instead of

Why are Nigerians so unserious.?

Nigerians....blame thyself.

Until we stop becoming a lawless people.....and become a nation of laws and standards....more buildings will fall down.

"The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars,
But in ourselves
Julius Caesar (I, ii, 140-141)

Is it just me, or did no other person see a strange bird, a strange fly and a strange mosquito hovering over the building just before it collapsed. These should be investigated too. Nigerians...smh tongue

I wouldn't call this a Toyota Hilux Truck anymore, more like a Sienamobile Truck, considering the number of different parts that have gone into it. A lot of them Siena's special creations. This has been an eye opening informative and learning experience for me so far. Respect @ Siena. You are one of a kind.
