Tragedy Averted As 512 Escape Another Plane Crash; Just 36 hours after a plane crashed in Lagos, killing 13 individuals, a tragedy was averted, on Friday evening, in Sokoto, after an airplane with 494 proposing pilgrims to Saudi Arabia and 18 crew members on board, as the plane lost two tyres while about to land.The mechanical crew of Kabo Air plane kept the day as it confronted the crisis and taxied to a stop.
The air travel, which originated from Kano, was said to be at the Abubakar Sadiq III worldwide aerodrome, Sokoto, to choose some high profile travellers before heading to Saudi Arabia.

The incident happened just as Benin-City compelled airplane could not land and had to return to Abuja.

The plane reportedly resided in the air for two hours for the 30-minute Abuja-Benin air travel and then returned to Abuja.

Heavy down pour in Benin-City were accused for the incompetence of the pilot to land the plane at the Edo State capital.

Nigerianewspaper - The Sokoto occurrence was said to have thrown the plane travellers, aerodrome employees and security agencies into fright. One source said the tyres were strike by a sharp object on the runway as the plane affected down.

The Kabo plane was directly ground at the aerodrome by regulatory agencies pending investigation and conclusion of what initiated the car tyre blowout.

Meanwhile, the administration of Kabo Air, yesterday, brushed aside the claim that “its airplane made an crisis landing in Kano”, supplementing that “what occurred was that our aircraft lost its two rear car tyres while setting down in Sokoto”.

The business activity Manager , Kabo Air, Aminu Hamza, who recounted as “laughable an online report that depicts an air accident, said: “How can an aircraft that was airborne misplace its tyres?” According to him, it was a silly and mischievous report peddled by unpatriotic elements to decorate the aviation industry blac.

Narrating the incident, Hamza said, “About 494 passengers were on board during the incident, and it was a tripartite excursion that took off from Kano en-route Sokoto to Jeddah. We are joyous to announce that no one of them was injured”.

The Corporate Affairs supervisor revealed that “ we have since dispatched a rescue airplane from our fleet to express the travellers to their destination, supplementing that “ from accounts at our disposal, everything is going on as planned”.

Shedding more light on the landing accident, the Director of Flight procedures of Kabo Air, Mr. Joseph Machimu, noted that “the airplane just returned from maintenance in Malaysia”. According to him, the airplane air worthiness is not in question.

Machimu clarified: “We were not shocked by the disturbance the landing accident generated because those who are close to the industry know apparently that car tyre blew at the issue of landing is a usual incident.” The Director asserted that “ the pilot who was completely attentive of the accident took full control , taxied it and parked the airplane to pave the way for evacuation”.

Reacting to the occurrence, yesterday, Mr. Joe Obi, exceptional consultant to the Minister of Aviation, asserted that the plane only had a stop over at the airport to choose added travellers. although, he admitted that the aircraft landed with deflated car tyres and impaired parts of the instruments landing scheme (ILS) at the runway.

Obi’s declaration reads: “On October 4, 2013, a Boeing 747-3 airplane with Reg 5N-JRM, operated by Kabo Airlines arrived safely with all travellers and crew on board, following a landing occurrence at the Sokoto airport at 2100 GMT.
