Pets / Walking: Healthy For Both You And Your Dog! by Streettoolz: 5:22pm On Oct 16, 2015
Walking has been confirmed as one of the best ways to keep healthy. It is one of the easiest exercises to keep fit and it doesn’t cost you anything except maybe time and burn some fat. Walking as a fitness activity is growing in leaps and in bounds because it is easy to start, sustain and its health benefit are numerous.

Most people think that walking is stressful but it’s a healthy way to keep fit without visiting the gym. It is one fitness activity that allows you numerous options, as it can be as simple as walking round the house or starting with a few warm ups and few stretches which allows your body prepare for what’s coming. Beginning walkers can make their workout less strenuous by limiting how fast and far they walk. You should keep the following in mind:

Walk short distances—Begin with a five-minute stroll and gradually increase your distance.
Forget about speed—Walk at a comfortable pace. Focus on good posture, keeping your head lifted and shoulders relaxed.
Swing your arms naturally—breathe deeply. If you can’t catch your breath, slow down or avoid hills.
Be sure that you can talk while walking—If you can’t converse, you are walking muscles to prepare for the stretch.

Then the proper walk can begin by going a longer distance than your house, after some time you can do longer distances as you feel comfortable with. Once you have reached a point where you can walk a few miles with relative ease, you can start to vary the intensity of your walk, always remember to reward yourself after a long walk with a few minutes of rest.
Most people prefer to walk with a friend or partner but having company helps you to go the distance with enthusiasm. You can always go with your dog, dogs are a great source of inspiration, encouragement and they also encourage your speed.

So why go alone when you can go with you canine friend? A philosopher once said, “IF YOUR DOG IS FAT, ITS BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT GETTING ENOUGH WALK”

Agriculture / Happy World Egg Day!!! by Streettoolz: 11:06am On Oct 09, 2015
Which came first the egg or the chicken? This is an age long question that has got a lot tongues wagging, scientists spinning theories, and devourers of the chicken and/or the egg still doing what they know how to do best, devouring.

Let us just imagine it was the egg first then we would have to be more thankful to eggs for the benefits that it bestows upon the whole of mankind, despite the many wrongful assumptions about it, one of which is that it causes an increase in cholesterol levels as one advances in age.
Also the observation of a day worldwide to a person or a thing is not child’s play, it attests to the importance of the person or thing, the egg in this case which means leaders of the world came together and agreed on its benefits and set aside a day to celebrate it and be excited about.
But before we get lost in the excitement of the egg memes that would be trending on social media today let us not forget that there would be no eggs today and possibly no egg day without healthy and well fed layer chickens that are kept solely for the purpose of laying an unending supply to us all.
So It turns out that uncontaminated, clean and dry feed that contains the right amount of protein, carbohydrates along with the necessary vitamins and an adequate supply of water that is readily available to our farmers at all times is crucial to the production of these eggs that we cannot do without.

To further educate Nigerians especially poultry farmers on the importance of quality feed for layer chickens the Poultry association of Nigeria in collaboration with VITAL FEEDS would be holding events in Enugu, Kwara, Plateau, and Cross river states.
So the answer to my question is it depends on which of the two is on my plate, and if the chicken and the egg are both on my plate, then there are two things involved…

Here is wishing all Nigerians a happy world egg day from VITAL FEEDS https://www.facebook.com/VitalFeeds?fref=ts

Nigeria has people with the requisite skills to make the digital place their playground but to be successful and maintain the cutting edge they need quality training and proper equipping.

“Digital is no longer the future. Digital is now, Mahmud added. “Marketing and branding executives need to evolve to stay relevant. Our mission is empower marketing professionals in Nigeria and Africa with the skills to do this.”

‘If you want to future-proof your career, then you need a digital marketing training and certification that will set you apart,” she added. According to Mr. Efosa “there is no way me or my colleagues or anyone for that matter will be able to thrive successfully in the coming days without a thorough knowledge of Digital Marketing.”

The President after offering a vote of thanks to SDC for the wealth of knowledge impacted during the course of the day also stressed the need for individuals, brands, and establishments to get adequate digital training to catch up with the fast moving times.

“It is amazing what digital entails. My first thought was that it meant Facebook, Twitter and maybe YouTube but the training showed the extent and scope of Digital Marketing.

'What we have learnt today is worth millions. Certain things we have learnt will become a part of us, and I urge everyone - my colleagues, people in other sectors, other industries, people seeking for ways to empower themselves to come in for these trainings," he added.
