Properties / Landwey Or Landscam: You Be The Judge by submil: 4:08pm On Jul 04
Landwey Investment Company launched with fanfare in 2018.Almost immediately, the company, headed by Wale Ayilara commenced an ambitious plan to launch an estate Urban Prime. Urban Prime was the poster boy for Landwey,it was almost near picture-perfect. Pictures and videos of apartment and terraces built by Landwey quickly flooded the internet. Many could not believe their eyes that such a 'high-quality bulit' was possible in Nigeria. Nigerians home and about feel in love with the Landwey brand and many opened their purpose and handed over their live-savings in exchange for a plot of land and or apartment in many of Landwey's estates. Today, many subscribers regret their action.

Let's look at Milton Estate, as a case study, of how Landwey has failed to deliver. Milton Estate was launched in June 2020.Landwey promised heavens and earth. In the words of Wale Ayilara, MD, they promised not only to deliver an estate of "Urban Prime standards" but to surpass it. Again, Nigerians, fully subscribed to the 195 plots of land and 52 terraces/apartments. It is estimated that Landwey grossed an income of #2.5 billion from sales of land and terraces in this estate alone.
According to the company's timeline, this estate was supposed to be delivered in 2 years, precisely August 2022.As we write, it is July 2024 and that promise is far from being kept.
In four years, Landwey has struggled to complete only one block of apartments, four blocks of apartment have been in-carcass state for the last 3 years, many unbuilt apartments for which subscribers have paid,no road,no drainage,no eletricty. A recent visit to the estate shows the Milton is near-abandonment, in a sorry estate.
Landwey has always blame the economy and covid for their lack of performance. However, many subscribers who reside in Europe are quick to point out that it was also during the covid period that the MD of Landwey conveniently purchased 2 luxurious homes to the tune of 831,000 Euros in Europe( pictures coming soon). So, while Landwey was busy telling subscribers that the economy has impacted their business to such an extent that they cant deliver, the MD was busy buying up luxury real estate for himself in Europe.

Landwey also like to project a public image of a responsible company but however, all of the Lanwey's subscribers that we interviewed mentioned that they regretted subscribing to Landwey estates. The companying routinely hire 'influencers and keyboard-warriors' to help launder their image and keep Nigerian unsuspecting

On June 20,2024, after four years of waiting and hoping, the subscribers to Milton Estate, staged a protest at Landwey's office to demand completion of the estate. As of the time of filing this report, our contact mentioned that Landwey has not reached out the Milton Estate Residents Association or any of their members on how they intend to fulfil their promise.
