Career / Re: This Happened In My New Work Place. Please advice by Sunnygibbs1909: 1:24pm On Jan 13
Jackanda1:
I recently applied to work in an organisation.

After passing the interview and checks, the management was impressed and decided to hire and give me a major role in the company.

When i asked about the payment for my position, they threw me a popular question;
HOW MUCH DO YOU THINK WE SHOULD PAY YOU?

I gave them a figure in mind, a little above what i got in my former job. Their facial expression was 'WoW'.

I started work on tuesday and after making friends and chating the secretary, i found out that i earn twice less than the staffs in the company in the same position.

Infact, i earn a little more than the gateman and cleaner. The secretary even earns more.

Its my fault, should have done some checks on the strength and salary structure of the firm before applying.

I feel discouraged. With this information, i won't be able fuction properly. Plus this secretary with her loud mouth will spread the news in the company, making me feel worst.

Anyone with this experience? Please console me.

The companys workers union should step in and arrest this anomaly. All organisations have a salary structure for all levels and cadre and should not pay you according to the strength of your negotiation. You quoted something less than their structure and they decided to pay you that.if you had quoted something higher, would they pay you.i consider it arm twisting and criminal. They should not treat you like a football player who is paid based on the strength of his negotiation

NLC should visit that company and picket it fast. All organisations have a fixed salary structure for all levels and cadres.Despite an unfavourable negotiation by a prospective staff, company structure must apply this is not a football player contract negotiation where you are paid strict ly on the strength of your negotiation. It is wrong..very wrong.quote author=Kobicove post=127916038]It's not fair for the company to knowingly pay you less I ti think your subordinates, the fact that you asked for a less amount during the interview stage is irrelevant! undecided[/quote]

I used to think Betta edu was smart but It so happens that all her smartness ends up in her wigs.with the amount of media spotlight brewing, one wonders for how long she can continue to defend the indefensible

Bullshit defense...imagine a spokesman speaking himself into serious trouble..GVG is an organisation that the accountant works for and funds should be transfered into company account not the accountants private account for onward disbursement into beneficiaries accounts..Despite that his uterrance is in direct conflict with civil service procedure he still seeks relevance by complicating issues

Wants Imo CP, others prosecuted

LEADERSHIP
The NLC should stop using personal agenda to promote a strike. They should individually or collectively prosecute afro-mentioned individuals in Imo State and leave Nigerians out of their personal agenda. When Nigerians were in dire need of Ajaeros leadership direction,he break danced his way out of the strike at the eleventh hour, plunging Nigeria into further hardship. Now with a punch, kick and upper cut he wants to rally Nigerians behind him.

Weda yeye bello like am or not....

Much as I would love Dino to win,his public spat with Tinubus wife on the floor of the Senate years back will form the basis of why Tinubu now as president will be hell bent on thwarting Dino's ambition at all cost as a form of vengeance.Dino has not only Bello but Tinubu as well to contend with in his journey to Lugard House
