Nigerians and religiosity. Everyone is now typing 'my case is different' all over the place. The conduct of the examination was grossly flawed. And it's going to affect all and sundry. So there's nothing unique or different about anyone's case. For Nigeria to develop past this, we need to speak up against such irregularities. 5 Likes |

PhilJames:PH center divided those writing by 8am into two different sets (because of the small capacity of the center designated for the test). The first set finished around some minutes after 10am before the next set started... All these while, those writing by 11am were waiting outside. You can imagine the level of leaks and expos they had before going in. I was among the first set that took the test by 8am that's why I'm pretty sad about the development. It just isn't fair at all! |

To me, I think where flexisaf missed it was asking applicants to come for a CBT with WRITING MATERIALS. They should have at the least give all candidates the piece of paper they might need for calculations and then ensure to get it back after the test. Moreso, phones and every other extraneous materials shouldn't have been allowed in to the exams hall. Doing these would have minimised the leakage. Even though some nut head candidates would still have leaked some questions verbally to their friends writing in the later batch. Port Harcourt center especially didn't give a level playing ground at all. I feel sad, like all my efforts and months of studying and preparing for the test was all for naught! 3 Likes |

Is there negative marking in that exam this year? |

Edifyer:And do you know the number of people viewing this thread that are from your state of origin and are yet to write theirs? Also, sharing all these now would be disadvantaged to those from other states that have written earlier on, because it will also give those from their States that haven't taken the test yet undue advantage. Anyway, examinations/tests in Nigeria are overrated. Imagine such crap! 4 Likes |

viviansteph:My dear, out of the 7 of us in my group that Unilever called for the DC, only one of us scaled through. There were about two other groups though. So I can't really tell the total number of people they recruited at last. The hustle continue. Still waiting for Shell's response. I completed my video interview since 6th of June. 1 Like |

DMainMan:Hello DmainMan, I noticed that last year's OSS awardees, only one of them out of the over 170 on the list was awarded the scholarship based on the course Refinery Design and Operation. Does it mean that course's exams is that tough? What specific tips will you give people like us that chose that course this year? I'm just curious. |

Lolz... I just discovered that the two roles I applied for (Process engineering and Production Manufacturing) are not even available for this particular year graduate recruitment.... Any need going through all these stress...? The advert I followed didn't show the available roles, I just saw the available roles on their site now. |

Aloyhood:If you missed their call, and you are very sure about it, like I was ( with the help of Truecaller app), then I'll advice you send them a mail to complain about that... They should actually call you back when they deem it fit. |

Aloyhood:It looks basically like what was described online by several sources... Also we were told that there will be more DCs and that we should be careful about the information we give out to those coming ahead of us (those are the words of the HR), else they'll stand better chance bla bla bla... So keep hoping, some more people might be called or already called, I dunno. Just get tips online (just like we did) about the DC if you are finally invited and give it your best shot. All the best. 1 Like |

Hmmm... I feel I owe this thread atleast more clarification about this whole DC invitation saga. Only on nairaland you'll find die-hard sceptics. People that can choose not to believe anything even when presented with fact. I now understand why we still have people that believe the earth is flat even in this 21st century. Anyway, at the risk of sounding condescending, I'll humbly confirm AGAIN that the DC invite is actually real and the DC is scheduled to hold next week. I was sent the mail after the call (I still can't believe I got the mail while others are yet to know their fate). We all started the race together, shared ideas and rubbed minds together and Unilever Nigeria decided to do what they did by calling a few first. Among the few they called, one or two of them felt the need to let the house know about it the little they can, but what did they get? Backlash, being called cowards and trying to out rightly guilt-trip them. It just ain't fair. I'm pretty sure atleast one more person here was among those called (aside from myself and Dazzle1.2), but with the way we treated Dazzle1.2 when he broke the story to us and the subsequent pressure we put on him to even go as far as to screenshot his DC IV mail, no other person would want to go through that, and thus, such person will just quietly go on and prepare for his DC while occasionally reading some of our post and shaking his head. Trust me, I would feel the same way like most of us are, but calling people names, doubting even the screenshot of their mail and trying to guilt-trip them just so they would spill more are some of the things I can't imagine myself doing. By the way, the DC might be in batches, atleast since they haven't sent regret mail yet, why not just sit back and wait hopefully for your mail while wishing those that have gotten already success in their Assessment. Also some people still go ahead to ask very direct and specific questions like the name of the person that called me. Seriously, when I saw that question I was scared. Firstly, why do you need the name? Are you a staff of Unilever Nigeria on nairaland trying to verify stuffs? Those were some of the questions that came into my mind immediately I saw that. The reason is because, on the Unilever Online Collaboration Platform we were assigned to, in order for us to carry out research before the DC day. Those of us that were called, the person that called us, plus a Unilever recruiter(it is clearly stated in front of the persons name) are all in that group. The person that made the call and the Unilever recruiter are both there to supervise and monitor us so that we do what's expected of us before the DC day. I don't know how many groups are out there, I'm not even sure Dazzle1.2 is in that my group. So when someone decided to ask about the name of the person in that called me, the question sounded more like that of an insider (a Unilever staff) or even one of us that were successful and that maybe he/she was just trying to know if I'm in the same group with him/her. That was the reason I refused to answer that question. I know I'm not obligated to give all these explanations, but I understand what we all went through (and are still going through) in this recruitment, that's why I'm taking my time out to explain these things. Please we should be civil and respect each others choices here. Guilt-tripping and name-calling isn't the best approach to verify claims. I wish us all the best though. 11 Likes 1 Share |
