An alleged child rapist has died after an angry mob attacked him and cut off his testicles.


The unidentified suspect is believed to have been part of a gang who took part in raping two girls, aged 14 and 18, in Ivory Park, near Johannesburg, South Africa.

A crowd of vigilantes chased the deceased and two others but the other two managed to flee the scene while the deceased was caught and maimed. This eventually led to his death. The two men who escaped were later arrested.

Popular Nigerian gospel singer, Tope Alabi has revealed why she kept her virginity until marriage.


The gospel singer told Punch that she remained a virgin due to quarterly check by her mother.

Tope Alabi said her mother believed one “didn’t have to be immoral simply because she is a singer. Every other member of my family was not pleased with my music career but my mother never took offence. She taught me that a female shouldn’t be too close to men.

The Operations Commander, Vigilance Group of Nigeria, Offa, Kwara State chapter, Wasiu Adepoju, has claimed vigilantes in the state recorded about 50 dead bodies after the armed robbery attack that happened on Thursday.


He also said that five banks were robbed by the fearless robbery gang.

The Commissioner of police in the state, Lawan Ado, had said 17 people, comprising nine police officers and eight civilians, were killed.

A Karmo Grade 1 Area Court, Abuja, yesterday sentenced two motorcycle operators to four months imprisonment each, for causing traffic obstruction on the highway.


The convicts, Quzairu Sulajo, 19, and Mutaka Isah, 18, of Gwagwa by Tasha, Abuja, had pleaded guilty to a two-count charge of causing an obstruction on a public highway, and riding without National Drivers’ Licence/learners’ permit.

The prosecutor, Zannan Dalhatu, had told the court that the convicts were arrested by a traffic warden at the Karmo Market junction on April 3.

Dalhatu said that the convicts obstructed the free flow of traffic at the market and when they were arrested, they could not produce drivers’ licence.

The prosecutor also said that the offences were punishable under Sections 39 and 7 of the Road Traffic Act.

On their part, the convicts begged the court to temper justice with mercy, promising to be of good conduct and ensure that the necessary particulars were collected.
