pedel: Did you read? He said standard procedure is for the Judge to be removed first by the NJC and then prosecuted. They can't go from arrest to prosecution. Think about it, who will respect a judge who was in the dock in the morning and then presiding over a matter in the afternoon? Baba Afe has spoken my mind and honestly, that has been my position from the beginning. 1 Like |

Aristo3146: That's the difference between these Judges/law and the way the DSS is going about this. Have you noticed that the Judges haven't said anything? Have you noticed the trend of the allegation being one sided and thus aimed at painting the judges as guilty in the court of public opinion? Law however doesn't work like that. The court /NJC won't listen to the allegations of the SSS alone. They won't behave like you or me and make definitive statements with only half facts. They will listen to both sides. Till they do, keep an unprejudiced mind my good friend. The judicial system is corrupt, yes(heck, everything about us in any sector reeks of corruption), however, a lot of the things we term corruption is actually lazy and incompetent prosecution. 2 Likes |

It can't be a clash, the army didn't suffer any casualties. From all indications, this looks more like a "genocide". 2 Likes |

4dor: Thank God you're educated so you know the meaning of the bolded word. There are court records to verify your case and I'm sure, if true, parties affected must have gone on appeal. You don't just toy with facts to suit your emotional state. No one fights evil with evil and prevails, cause at the end, society still has at least one evil to contend with. The SSS didn't act within the ambits of the law, that's the reason for the outrage. You want to go after corrupt judges, please do. However, follow the process laid down by the law. The SSS didn't do that and as long as they continue to go after 'corrupt' people like this, they may never get any convictions. 1 Like |

Prof. Chidi Odinkalu has said it all. Those of you in defence of Buhari's tyrannical administration should see this and think about it objectively 3 Likes |

amagunnerfan: How has the judiciary been diverting and preventing justice? Do you have any proof? Do you know the details of the cases before judges? Do you know all the evidence tendered by parties? If your answer to any of these questions is no, you're the one to use your head and know that you can't and shouldn't make any definitive statements without knowledge of all the facts. Shalom |

ilynem: You don't have to be insultive in making your point, I understand you're frustrated, but I'm sure I'm not th cause of your frustration, so take it easy my man. Now, to the point about defending corruption. Have you heard the side of the Judges' story? Logic says there are at least two sides to a story and nothing can be decided until all sides are heard. Relax and let them defend themselves. The fact that you already think they're guilty is exactly the way government wants you to think. P.s I don't support any political party, but I do love a football club with all my heart body and soul...Arsenal FC. Have a nice day. |

4dor: It isn't the judges that are to be solely blamed for people awaiting trial. The judge can only adjudicate on what is brought before him. You should be directing your grievances on people awaiting trial to prosecution and defence counsel, they're the ones wasting time. And even at that, the mode of the arrest of these judges is unlawful. Whether or not they're corrupt, there's a procedure under the law for things to be done, and in this case, they haven't been done. You can continue cheering the government, but be rest assured that this tyranny will affect you, it's only a matter of time. Just wait for it. 1 Like |

All these stories coming out when the Judges can't defend themselves and have been denied access to visitation and you're all here applauding tyranny? Think about it. The judiciary is society's last hope against this government and if they can treat senior judges like this, imagine how they would treat you that is shouting 'crucify him'. I hope you brainwashed people really sit back and think cause Nigeria is falling apart before our very eyes. 3 Likes |

I like Success and Iwobi being called up, but I hope Ideye can seize his chance as the team's top striker. Hope he and Success get minutes. Shame John Ogu didn't make the squad as he has been impressive for his club lately. He still has time to convince the coach |

How can people on nairaland also say this recruitment is secret? Go to job and vacancies section and see multiple threads on the recruitment. It was advertised online and the news was everywhere. What this shows is that a lot of you don't source or read information, you like to be spoon-fed. It's a shame, because we are in an age where information is available at the snap of a finger. Ignorance is killing us in Nigeria, faster than I'd have thought. 7 Likes 1 Share |

While I must commend the presidency in admitting when they've erred, they will be overdoing it by punishing the official responsible. Would they have given the said official the glory if he had come up with an extraordinary speech that enhanced the President's reputation? 1 Like |
