There are Millions of Nigerians who have made it in life, but bad luck and misfortune turned their wealth to nothing overnight in the name of Stroke, Diabitis, cancer, tumor, etc.

May we never be a victim of glory to sorrow

Well said but I didn't necessarily agree with you in all music is any sound that's pleasant to our ear

NwaAmaikpe:
shocked

A well deserved win to Kidjo.
The content of her songs are out of this world. She is a mix of Maya Angelou and Miriam Makeba.

Music lovers and genuine content critics like myself would have given up on the credibility and essence of the Grammy Awards if another undeserving artiste had won this.

Sentiments aside, Nigeria is yet to replicate another Fela Kuti in the global music sphere.

Fela is the only Nigerian deserving of a Grammy.
Because music is not about dancesteps or groupie trends but about a movement, a message, reawakening a consciousness and yet the melody from real musical instruments.
This is a reality lost on today's Nigerian artistes aside from Asá who still lacks in consistency.

As an African act, till your music can be accepted by Pastors, Imams, Youths, elders, global leaders, United Nations and illiterates, then you stand a chance of being an African Album or winning a foreign award in Music.

Nigeria and Nigerians must understand that club bangers do not translate to foreign awards in global music.

@Oga Prosper:

I don't know your 8yr old daughter sleeps in your room.

The poster below said it: You leave all parenting decisions to your wife.

You don't like the kids in your matrimonial bed? Tell her and set up the guest room for the 8yr old and the crib for the 7mths old in your room.

If your wife is worried about the safety of the 8yr old (I don.t know why she could be), you both check on her once at night.

Also learn to communicate: You feel your daughter should sleep independently: Tell your wife, she is not a witch.

Your sex life is dwindling? Tell her.

Stop feeling things or wondering how to tell her; create a cool atomsphere for discussion (probably after food) and raise your concerns.

And please do not reward bad behaviour: You do not need to 'date' your wife before she has sex with you or do her other duties.

Please note I am not saying you both shouldn't date/ court yourselves; I am saying do not do it to cajole her to do what she needs to do.

Do it as recreation; all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.

Goodluck.

Many of you don't even have knowledge about processes and procedures.

Kid, let me ask you a question: if an Amotekun unit arrests a gang of kidnappers, what do they do with/to them?

Were you of age when OPC started? Perhaps you were not old enough then, let me remind you that it started well and later became a criminal gang as many of their members used their position to commit crimes against the same people they were meant to protect. Such is what can go wrong with an illegal, unrecognized, outfit.

You've a point no doubt everything has pro& con I know there will bad eggs among the amotekun but we should think about securing our self 1st since the NPF have fail ed us, through our 2019 I had of police killing, brutality and violent more than arm robber...this people are here to complement the police nothing more

True talk...
The Yoruba will be alone in 2023 and therefore, they can't even get the presidency in 2023.

I can't join the Yoruba to fight the in 2023, i will rather join the north to fight Yoruba in 2023, especially fighting Tinubu....

It's not about winning now bro or fighting against Tinubu, we as southerners we should be more concern about regionalism and restructure of Nigeria I know the SW help bring these disaster we call president, we should united now as southerners and fight 4 restructure mind you I'm from delta if I may ask my self what did we achieve as president when Goodluck was president nothing bro the north was still the major stakeholders in Johnathan administration....the north know how to play the game of politics dey want us to keep fighting each other (SW&SE) and they align with any one who support them to keep winning over us the south...it's time we come as one and united as south my own opinion

cool

this game is simple, North pushes for Presidency again dangling VP to SouthEast, then SouthWest Preaches Regional Policing, Restructuring and Resource control

In the End The North mostly the Fulani are pretty helpless on this issue.. whats the use of Presidency if we restructure and keep them poor? or if we police ourselves and checkmate all Fulani activities.. rendering them utterly useless

If Yoruba postulate the idea of regionalism we already have SouthSouth and Southeast to support that, and we know for sure 1/3 of Kogi (Okun land) and the whole of Kwara would join the idea... even Benue Pleatue and Taraba might consider the juicy offer.. so whichever way Fulani are the lis favoured in 2023, infact it would almost be a curse to be a Fulani man after Buhari is no more in power

.
You're right bro what's the need of presidency if the whole south can unite and fight 4 regionalism and resource control I think that'll better but truth be told we still have betrayers in our midst remember in every 12 there's always a Judas.
They're scare whenever we're United but when we keep fighting ourself (afonja&osu) they act like god....wish we could be United and kick these core northerners guys out, that's only way we can win

Look at the case well and u will see that the vigilante group is a tribal affair, benue that has suffered alot aren't even talking about policing, it's Lagos with only 5 deaths

You made a nice point no doubt but I didn't necessarily agree with you in all ask yourself am I save as a Nigerian
Must we go on war before we separate alot of country disintegrate without that for crying put loud we're in the 21st century

LandMann:
We all should put emotions, tribalism and ethnic hatred aside and examine this issue of Ametokun based purely on its merits and demerits and in light of existing laws.

The following points should guide us:

1. Internal security is an exclusive task of the FG. FG can give authority to state or local actors to improve security. Example; local vigilantes and some paramilitary organisation like Man o War must acquire police permission before operating... This is an example of FG giving other actors permission to act in improving security.

2. There's no federal law or agreement between federal and state outlining the activities to be covered by Ametokun, given the existence of police, nscdc and other existing internal security outfit... This agreement or law is important to avoid conflict between these organisations when issues of security occur. We're still dealing with superiority contest between FRSC, VIO, NSCDC, YELLOW FEVER, POLICE AND ARMY on our highways...

3. With no national law or agreement coupled with high level of illiteracy and unprofessionalism of most state workers, state governments can quickly start using Ametokun as instrument of oppression and a means of further looting state resources because security spending is often shrouded in secrecy, and even Ametokun members can take to crimes as side hustle when they start feeling dissatisfied with their salary. They have the training and the instrument of force (guns)... Who's going to prevent them from misusing both and how?

The above are just some issues worth considering.

If all the loopholes are properly plugged, then Ametokun can kick off.

We shouldn't cheer on the idea even with the obvious loopholes because it can quickly spread, every region can quickly have their own version of Ametokun and it won't be long before outside actors start smuggling weapons to these different regional Ametokuns and with the existing ethnic hatred, it won't take long before another civil war arises that will tear Nigeria apart and make current Libya and Iraq look like heaven compared to how Nigeria will look like.

We should protect our country, not our states or region or ethnic enclave.

My father was the largest donor to our church building project, he sponsored many inlaws and siblings in school and abroad , encouraged an apprentice that used to repair our lister generator to go to school and sponsored him. His driver built house in ota with his assistance. He believed givers never lacked. At the turn of the century technology made his business obsolete. Every other business he tried all failed or was duped till he became broke. Those who built schools were already cashing in my mum used to tell him. My mum would later go to hustle abroad she used his usa account. He took 4000 usd from her money . Still could not get back on his feet. To pay our school fees na beg we beg tire as she said its our papa duty. By the time by mum came back to nigeria after 9 years she don build 3 houses (12 flats) and started a thriving business. My dad also went to usa for 3 year could not hustle like my mama. Had to come back. We sha rough am. My mama later begin dey do the needful to us but not to my father.
