@synticate, don't rush. The race you are about to start is a marathon, not a sprint. It takes time. Don't worry, this market will always be there and opportunities will always abound. First, define your reason for wanting to invest ie your investment objective. Most times your objective will direct your interest and the knowledge to seek.

When it comes to investment there are principles to follow which are normally universal but the applications of these principles are influenced by individual investor's interests, risk tolerance, age, amount of funds available for investment, the purpose of investment, environment etc.
Don't try to get everything at once and don't be scared when you read or hear those investment jargon in no time you will get to understand.

One thing with this market is that you get to understand it more when you go practical with a profesional guidiance most times. As you are reading try as much as possible to practice. Learning never ends it's a lifelong activity.

Also, note that capital market investment will require you to control these two emotions - Fear and greed and if you wish to do well have a long-term approach with fundamental sound stocks at the start and you can graduate to trading or short-term later.

While reading previous pages of this thread, don't abandon the current pages, be interested in economic news and visit other financial websites that can help you understand investment generally.

At Investment One Financial Services we can take you by the hands and walk you through the investment corridor and in no distant time you will find your feet. Reach out to me my contacts are displayed on my signature.

Remember a guru today was once a novice

I wish you all the best in your investment journey.

Wow,

thank you sir, i'm grateful...

We are all students of the market 10, 20,30. 70 years old. Most of all you need is here if you can put in the work (companies, brokerage house to choose from, etc). Start from Page 1 is the way to go. This shouldn't take up to a week or more than a month depends on how much of a voracious reader you are (I will not suggest what i didn't do myself). This gives you better picture of how the past played out (political and economic scenario of Nigeria since 2012 till date). To keep up with daily gist, you can always read through the current post daily. All the best, if you still have questions, post here, peeps will give their suggestions.

Welcome to the Jungle!!!!

thank you for this sir, i promise not to disappoint

Good day guys, I'm new here...

I'm but a humble student who's interested in learning all i can about proper investment as i will soon be graduating from the university.

Nairaland had played a big role in my life in terms of guidance and advice from well experienced superiors, i wouldn't be where i am today if not for some wise advise from fellow nairalanders, currently in school and doing well (at least better than most of my mates ), trying to set a good foundation for my future after school.

i'm 25 and i am interested on starting a journey on investing and would really appreciate any advice that will help me succeed in this path.

Thanks in advance.

Don't know who needs to read this right now... grin

Have you heard that women act like cats, and men act like dogs? Ever
wondered what‘s going on? Have you ever tried to make friends with a cat, but
gave up because the cat wanted nothing to do with you?

Go over to a friend‘s house with a cat that seems to avoid being petted.
But instead of going over to the cat and trying to pet it, I want you to
completely ignore the cat.
Don‘t even look at it.
If you sit for long enough and pay NO attention to the cat, it will probably
come over and rub up against you, or walk by to see what you do.

Now, at this point most guys will reach out and try to pet the cat, thinking
―Oh, it‘s OK to pet it now that the cat is coming to me.‖
Don‘t do it!
Keep pretending that the cat doesn‘t exist.
Before you know it, the cat will be up on your lap. Guess what you should
do now? Right! Gently push it away. After doing this a few times, you‘ll have a
cat that probably won‘t leave you alone.

What‘s going on here?
Well hell if I know!
I just know that it works!
Whenever I meet a cat that I don‘t know, I always pretend like it doesn‘t
exist and wait for it to come to me. Then I push it away a few times. The cat
usually winds up on my lap purring to no end.

I often hear, ―Wow, that cat doesn‘t make friends with anyone that fast‖ or
―I‘ve never seen that cat let someone pet her so soon‖, etc. The point is that
this is the language of cats. And, interestingly enough, it‘s also a fantastic
introduction to the language of women and attraction.

Did you install the OTG Plug-in for solid explorer?

And if it reads it. Note that you can't write to it on RN7. Write to NTFS only works from RN9S and it's seniors.
I've installed all required otg plugins its currently working with my 8gb SanDisk flash drive, only having issues with the drive

If you prefer stock file manager, format your HDD in exFat but if you prefer your HDD in NTFS, you'll need to download Solid Explorer crack version along with the plugin pack from Rexdl or revdl in order to read/write on your HDD.
I've formated to both exfat and NTFS using solid explorer, explorer, total commander etc still not working, I'm beginning to think its my otg cable that's not compatible with the harddrive...
