Politics / The Good Side Of AYO FAYOSE APC Newspapers Dont Talk About. by taiyebugatti: 7:55pm On Oct 15, 2014
A post from TUNFOL.

Ekiti people see in him. They see in him a true friend, an accute advocate of the masses and a big man with ear to listen and solve the problems of the downthroden wheither he is in or out of government. How did it start. Immediately Niyi Adebayo governmet started in 1999, Ayo fayose arrived from know-where, erecting sign-post of 'Ayo Fayose 4 Governor-2003' everywhere in Ekiti-state. I mean he started this in 1999, when the new governmet was just inaugurated. Nobody took him seriiously, expecially when it was discovered he was contesting under PDP, when SW seemed to have vowed to remain with Awolowo's Party-AD. Fayose continued his campaign, undisturbed for 4 years. He practically ran a parallel government. He had a mobile health services and portable water supply system which he made available to all and sundries at no cost. He was solving the problems of the masses. Things Government was suppose to do and failed, he was doing it without collecting allocation IGR or tax from anyone. There was a time Adebayo could not pay civil servants salary (like Fayemi is owing them now) Fayose asked the government to give him the parol of all the civil servants in EKITI, he would pay. For the first time, Adebayo government felt treatened. To cut it short, Fayose defeated Adebayo, the sitting governor @ the poll (I wouldn't go to the drama and story of PDP primary election that produced him as PDP gubernatorial candidate in 2003, leading to the political demise of S.K.B Babalola) Niyi Adebayo's government lacked structural development in Ekiti State because it was 'paddy-paddy' government. The fund of the government was seriously channelled into funding personal embarkment of some greedy traditional rulers and elites (some of who you see in E-11 today). When Fayose came in 2003, the greedy Obas and the so called elite expected a continum of Adebayo's 'shua-shua' but Fayose did not only decline, he lambasted them in secret and in the open. Then the battle line was drawn. They used everything @ their disposal to fight him. They started with his Ibadan Poly HND certificate scandal. They employed the power of media and intellectual tool. Yet the guy triumphed. They did not stop there, they waged all manners of battles. He also is not a diplomatic person. The more they fought him, te more he fought back. An average Ekiti man knows the battle he was fighting. They were aware he was fighting on the side of the poor masses against the selfish elite. It was a 'class' war! Despite his multi-various battles, development works was going-on throughout Ekiti. Roads were been tarred, dualisation of Ado road commenced, Education was improving and beautiful tources was put on government schools. Health and sport was growing and low cost housing estates was being built in the State. Above all, all workers got dia salary, unfalingly on 27th of every month. Nobody was owed. There was always activities two to appoint the best teacher in schools and the best in other professions (He started the idea of Teacher's Day) People will have enough to eat and there will be ankara for all. He was very accesible. He moved freely in the State and his direct phone number was with everybody in the state. You are free to call your governor @ anytime and he will pick. If he couldn't pick, he will return your calls. Now how many councillors can even do this let aloone a governor
Politics / Evil-11 Are The Ones Unleashing Mayhem In Ekiti, by taiyebugatti: 4:40pm On Oct 11, 2014
E-11 are confused organisation, beggars, jobbers, appologists, appendage and opportunists. I watched their chairman speak incoherently, contradicting himself. At a point he was no longer sure of all he was saying again. He said his E-11 has about 100 members, so how come the name E-11. He also said his group is trying to stop Fayose because he lacks integrity, then he must be subtlely saying that the majority of Ekiti people that massively voted Fayose lack integrity. He claimed that, his group members cut across all the political parties, record has it that this same group only opposes PDP, e.g Segun Oni was highly Critised during his tenure as PDP gov, bt nt for a day has the group condemned Fayemi's APC led administration, they re at it again bent to scuttle Fayose's innauguration. It is a shame to know that this Evil-11 were among the first group of people to congratulate Fayose on his victory @ the poll, a duely signed press release was issued to that effect, the question is, were they drunk with illusion @ that time they issued the press release?, why ve they suddenly woke up from hand made deep sleep. It is certain that this Evil-11 are the ones unleashing mayhem in Ekiti, the authorities should arrest them. It is no longer news that this group is being sponsored by APC national leader based in Lagos, suffice to know that majority E-11 members does bizness in Lagos and also reside there with their families. May I reveal to you that the Chairman of Evil-11 is owing Fayose Millions of naira incurred as a rent for using Fayose's hotel for his bizness premises and lodge. Fayose has never disturbed him to pay the debt. This man could nt deliever his ward to APC, he lost to Fayose, this further butress the fact that he is an alien in his town. He enjoys no one's support except the evil forces of APC. Come October 16, power must change hands

Politics / Fayose‬ Ignominious Support For Apc/fayemi And The Resulted Hypocrisy by taiyebugatti: 4:31pm On Oct 11, 2014
....Below are their comments during Fayose's 49th birthday:
"Happy birthday to an astute politician. This is a time to celebrate a reliable and dogged fighter, who stood by the people against all political weathers. We are confident that your efforts will not go unrewarded. May God grant you good health to keep fighting the cause of true democracy." Rauf Aregbesola (The Nation, Nov 15, 2009)
"49 Gbosas to a fearless man. Happy 49th birthday to a leader who stood by the people against all political machinations, be assured that the truth will prevail. On behalf of Action Congress, our leaders, members, your supporters and lovers of democracy, the best is yet to come." Dr. Kayode Fayemi (Nov 15, 2009)
"In a statement on Sunday, June 22, 2014, Gov. Fayemi said, if indeed this is the will of Ekiti people, I stand in deference to your will. If the result of the elections is an expression of the voice of our people, we must all heed your voice."
Also while addressing the media in Ado-Ekiti, less than 24 hours after the June 21 election, he said "i have spoken with my brother, Mr. Peter Ayodele Fayose, congratulating him on his victory. In a few hours from now, I would be meeting the Governor-elect to discuss the future of our dear State and how we would work together to institute a smooth transition programme." Dr. Kayode Fayemi
THE STORY HAS CHANGED TODAY:
Fayose returned to PDP in 2012, became PDP's flag bearer and defeated Fayemi/APC to become Governor-elect. Now, his identity has changed into a violent man and no longer a leader of the people because he is not fighting from the side of APC. What a hypocrisy and irony of life
Politics / Fayemi Killer Squad Killed Nine People In Less Than Four Years In Ekiti by taiyebugatti: 10:43pm On Oct 08, 2014
A total number of nine people were murdered by the killer squad of Governor Kayode Kayemi within four years, the latest being Chief Omolafe Aderiye.
Femi Falana did not because of that go into exile.
Fayemi hindered the trial of these people, they were released by the government through nolle prosequi. However, following the ouster of Fayemi administration, the trial will commence. The whole world will now know that Fayemi Administration is a demon.
It was these Femi Falana, Babafemi Ojudu and Kayode Fayemi that hired Adeniyi Adedipe in August 2006 to allege that Ayo Fayose sent him and his boys to assassinate Dr Ayo Daramola. But because Femi Falana's group failed to release the money it had promised Niyi Adedipe . Femi Falana had assured Niyi Adedipe that he would get his boys out of prison after Fayose had been removed from office and charged for murder.
Unfortunately for Niyi Adedipe, while his boy were dying at Ado Ekiti prison, Falana did not give them the promised money.
This made Niyi Adedipe to voice out in 2008 how he was hired to say that Fayose sent them to assassinate Ayo Daramola.
All these are contained in the court affidavit of Niyi Adedipe and the police report of March 2008 which exonerated Fayose of the murder of Daramola and Tunde Omojola
Falana is a terrible human being

Politics / E-11 And The Lessons Of History IN Ekiti. by taiyebugatti: 4:16pm On Oct 04, 2014
MUSTAPHA OGUNSAKIN WRITE-UP

E-11 and the lessons of history
There is a saying that those who refuse to learn from the lessons of history are condemned to repeating past mistakes. October 15, 2006 will always be a day to be remembered in the history of Ekiti State. It was the day the then governor, Ayodele Fayose was impeached from office, and the then Speaker of the state House of Assembly, the late Chief Friday Aderemi became governor in acting capacity, though he did not last in office for a day!

I remembered vividly the night Aderemi took over the reins of power. Right inside the governor’s private office was Babafemi Ojudu (now a senator) who was then the chairman of the E-11, a group of Ekiti indigenes who had bounded together for political reasons. Ojudu was accompanied by Kayode Fayemi (the incumbent governor) then an aspirant of Alliance for Democracy (AD), Segun Oni (former governor), also an aspirant of PDP, and one Kayode Afolabi, a friend and business partner of Ojudu. There was also the then chairman of the PDP in Ekiti, Chief Ropo Adesanya, who was mandated to proceed to Lagos for a world press conference the following morning. The press conference never materialized as the then President Olusegun Obasanjo declared a state of emergency at 7 am the following morning.

The group E-11 under the leadership of Ojudu had supervised the impeachment of Fayose. The group received funding from prominent Ekiti indigenes from home and abroad who had been made to believe that Fayose is a collective enemy that must go at all cost. The “Fayose must go” fund ran into hundreds of millions of naira that partly went into the hands of the legislators who were camped at Royal Birds hotel, Akure, Ondo State, and the Women Development Centre, Agege, Lagos at various times. The major part of the funds ended in the private pockets of the leadership of E-11.

The Ekiti State Judiciary did not go unscathed in the impeachment saga. Two prominent and promising Ekiti judicial officers had their careers terminated due to political influence. Justices Kayode Bamisile, and Jide Aladejana are brilliant judges that could have rose to the pinnacle of their careers as Supreme Court Justices but they allowed themselves to be used by politicians. Today, their names are consigned into the dustbin of history.

Members of E-11 received very handsome rewards for the impeachment of Fayose. Before Segun Oni became the governor, Ojudu’s company, Special Events always get the contract for organizing both CAN and PDP rallies in Ekiti. When Segun Oni came into office, the running of the state-owned Fountain Hotels, built by Fayose was ceded to them. It was run by Kayode Afolabi, a crony of Ojudu. This was aside huge contracts awarded to members of the group. The party continued under Kayode Fayemi as members though now divided by politics still reap handsomely from their labour of 2006.

This was the state of things, at least, until Fayose declared his intention to run for position of governor again in 2014. At the beginning, they derided his candidature. As he waxed strong, they too became serious knowing that they may have a problem in their hands. Then he waxed stronger and they became scared!! They reverted to their former tactics. Members again started meeting Ekiti prominent indigenes for “funds and support” to combat this “common enemy” again.

I was with a prominent lawyer in Lagos when a member of E-11 came to solicit for the lawyers support. I confronted the fellow with facts and figures and was successful in persuading the man not to release his hard earned money to those who will use it for their personal aggrandizement. I was therefore not surprised when they filed suit before an Ado-Ekiti High Court seeking an order of court to declare Fayose as not a fit and proper person to occupy the seat of governor of Ekiti State. Truth be told, the group is entitled to its own opinion. What they are not entitled to is to use their connections like they did in 2006 to scuttle the collective will of the people, using the judiciary as an instrument.

This was the way they used Aladejana in 2006. Segun Oni who was part of the plan was in office for more than three years before he was removed by the controversial Salamic judgement. Yet, with all his powers, he could not re-instate Aladejana back as judge. Fayemi will clock four years on October 15 and in those years, what has he done for Aladejana who they used and dumped like gutter water? Aladejana, a perfect gentleman is still in his house licking the pains inflicted on him by the group he so much trusted.

At this juncture, the words of Justice Odemwingie Uwaifo, a retired Justice of the Supreme Court comes to mind. He said “Unfortunately, the judiciary is already involved (in politics). Don’t let us deceive ourselves. There are a few judges that are doing well but on the whole, we have a lot to account for. The judiciary is already faulty”. When judges allowed themselves to be used as a tool for political reasons, it means they have descended into the arena and should not be expected to be covered with the immunity of office.

Ekiti have particularly suffered in this regard. The Judgement that brought Fayemi to power will always be a reference as it eventually led to the removal of the former President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Isa Ayo Salami. Now, another judge, Justice John Adeyeye has been beaten up in court premises. I join Fayose to as the National Judicial Council to investigate this matter.
From time immemorial, people have always mass around courts when there is a judicial process that involves their interest. In 1983, the people of Ondo State formed a human shield around the Supreme Court at Igbosere, Lagos on the day judgement was delivered on the governorship tussle between the late Chief Michael Adekunle Ajasin of UPN, and the late Chief Omoboriowo of NPN. No justice of the court left his hallowed chamber to address the crowd.

Between 1999 and 2013, General Ishaya Bamaiyi, Major Hamza Al- Mustapha and others faced criminal trials before various courts in Lagos. Every trial day, their supporters, including Chief Frederick Faseun of OPC always massed around court premises. No judge of the High Court of Lagos ever stepped out of his chambers to do security job of telling the crowd how to conduct themselves in court premises. Similarly, PDP chieftain, Chief Olabode George went on trial before Justice Olubunmi Oyewole of Ikeja High Court. Every trial date, his supporters invade the serenity of the court with drums, in their Aso-Ebi attire. Yet not a single judge came out to instruct these supporters on how to conduct themselves in court premises. It even got to a point that Governor Babatunde Fashola wrote an opinion on the issue as a lawyer. No judge ever questioned the rights of the people to be in the court premises.

Justice Adeyeye may therefore need to explain to the NJC how interpretation of the law, which is his job include the job of addressing the crowd in court premises which is clearly the job of security officials. This is particularly instructive as none of the cases in question was before him.

It is my hope that the E-11 will allow the will of the people to prevail. Even if Fayose is the devil himself, the voice of the people is clear. Unless they have things to hide, they should stop the intimidation of the wish of the people or be consumed by rage of the people.

Politics / Fayemi Is Owing Ekiti Workers For Three Months. by taiyebugatti: 4:37pm On Oct 03, 2014
ADO-EKITI—Organised Labour in Ekiti State, yesterday, began indefinite strike to press for the payment of their outstanding salaries and allowances owed by the outgoing Governor Kayode Fayemi’s administration.

The labour unions, under the leadership of Joint Negotiating Council, JNC, also lambasted the leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress in the State over what he called its lackadaisical attitude about the plights of the suffering workers.

Briefing newsmen in Ado Ekiti, the JNC Chairman, Oladipupo Johnson, said that the August and September salaries as well as the June and July deductions have not been paid as promised by the governor, describing this as the highest point of insensitivity.

Also in a statement made available in Ado Ekiti by JNC chairman, the body said the strike action became imperative following alleged uncaring attitude displayed by Governor Fayemi towards the welfare of Ekiti workers.

It stated that, “it is unfortunate to note that in spite of the pronouncement and promises from top government functionaries, there seem to be no light at the end of the tunnel. Following this, the workers of the public service had met and directed that workers should not come to work today (yesterday), October 2, 2014 and this subsists until all conditions are met.

“And any worker who refuses to obey this simple directive does so at his or her own risk since the leaders would not take responsibility for anything that happens to such a worker.”

Despite the fact that the strike was over 90 per cent successful, the JNC still went round the State Secretariat and other government offices to picket few workers that reported to duties.

In his reaction, Fayemi said he had instructed the Head of Service, Mr Bunmi Famosaya to meet with the leadership of JNC and relay to them that the salaries will be paid within 48 hours.

Fayemi, who responded through the Information Commissioner, Mr Tayo Ekundayo, said; “You may recall that Ekiti has been paying as and when due before the present situation and we have a template by which we used to meet up. We used to take facilities from banks to pay salary before the arrival of the State’s allocations.”
“But unfortunately, because of the transition, opposition went to stop the banks and we have explained the situation to union leaders . Delay in payment has never been our character . But discussion has been concluded to ensure that the money is paid with 48 hours. We expect the workers to reciprocate the gesture by calling off the strike and report to work immediately in the interest of the State”, he said.

Politics / Ekiti Oba`s Warn Fayemi And Apc To Avoid Anarchy by taiyebugatti: 10:11am On Oct 02, 2014
The Ekiti State Council of Traditional Rulers has warned against any attempt to subvert the mandate freely given to the governor-elect, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, in the June 21 governorship election.

Rising from its meeting held in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital, on Tuesday, the monarchs said such attempt could further aggravate the already tensed situation in the state.

The meeting, which reviewed the security situation in the state, commiserated with the family of a former Chairman, National Union of Road Transport Workers, Mr. Omolafe Aderiye, who was murdered last Thursday by yet-unknown gunmen.

In a statement signed by its Chairman and the Onitaji of Itaji, Oba Adamo Babalola, and made available to journalists in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti traditional rulers council said the people of the state had spoken through the ballot papers in the election.

It said, “We condemn in its strongest terms these occurrences which led to the destruction of a life and property. We believe that Ekiti State is greater than any individual or group of persons. We should steer clear of any act that can set Ekiti ablaze.

“We appeal to the gladiators to sheathe their swords and prevent further aggravation of the already bad situation.

“We are of the view that the people of the state had spoken through the ballot on June 21, 2014 and a mandate freely given. The Ekiti State Council of Traditional Rulers therefore feels strongly that this mandate should be actualised as any attempt to truncate it may further aggravate the situation.”

The monarchs expressed confidence in the ability of the Ekiti judiciary to dispense justice on any matter, urging that the judiciary must continue to prove that it remained the hope of the common man.

The traditional rulers also commended the security agencies for efforts to restore peace in the state after the violence that followed the murder of Aderiye.

They appealed to the people to shun violence in order to ensure speedy restoration of peace and to complement the efforts of the security agencies.
Politics / Chief Judge Daramola Got It Wrong On Fayose by taiyebugatti: 10:03am On Oct 02, 2014
Fracas during court proceedings is not new in Nigeria, especially in political cases.

On March 18, 2013, supporters of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) and Labour Party (LP) clashed at the Ondo State Governorship election Tribunal. Four persons were severely injured.

On January 23, 2012, supporters of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) CAN clashed at the premises of the governorship election petition tribunal in Lokoja, Kogi State. One person was SHOT and three others injured. The then Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly, Abdullahi Bello, narrowly escaped death.

On January 6, 2012, TWO persons were injured in a commotion between the supporters of Gov. Tanko Almakura of Nasarawa State and his predecessor Alhaji Akwe Doma at the Court of Appeal in Makurdi. The supporters of CPC and PDP were in the court to witness the judgment of the election petition between the governor and his predecessor, which the court adjourned to a later date.

In all the THREE instances mentioned above, COURTS in the States were not SHUT while no JUDGES came out of his chamber to "warn" the party supporters.

Now on the alleged assault on Justice Adeyeye last Thursday, it was reported that the judge told the Ekiti Governor-Elect, Ayodele Fayose (who came to attend the Tribunal sitting) to "warn" his "THUGS." That reportedly took place at the COURT PREMISES, not inside Justice Adeyeye's chamber or Court.

Firstly, Justice Adeyeye reportedly addressed law-abiding Nigerians, who came to the Court to observe proceedings as THUGS. Isn't that wrong?

Secondly, Fayose was in the court premises, not inside any courtroom. Meaning that Justice Adeyeye came out of his chamber or court to address people who were possibly being unruly at the court.

Now I ask, is it the DUTY of a JUDGE to check UNRULY crowd in the court premises? Definitely NO!

Thirdly, if indeed Justice Adeyeye was assaulted by the "unruly crowd," was he assaulted because they knew he was a judge? Was Justice Adeyeye carrying IDENTIFICATION as a JUDGE on his head? Definitely NO!

In Ondo, Kogi and Benue States that I mentioned above, did the Chief Judge of any of the State SHUT DOWN the COURTS?

Obviously, the Ekiti Chief Judge, Justice Daramola shut down Courts in the State for reasons other than what happened in the Ado Ekiti High Court premises last Monday and Thursday. Only Justice Daramola can tell Nigerians why he shut down the courts in Ekiti because even when GUNSHOTS boomed in Lokoja on January 23, 2012, the Kogi State CJ did not shut the courts.

Now, on the last Monday incident, neither Fayose nor the PDP as a party ordered anyone to invade the court. Those who did must have done it on their own, and when they did, not even Fayose and PDP lawyers were spared.

Perhaps, those who invaded the court saw that they were about to be SHORT-CHANGED.

If someone had been defeated in all the 16 Local Governments and he now wants to come through the window of the court, does anyone expects those who voted to defeat the person not to react?

Even our Lord Jesus Christ did not hold His peace when he met people trading in the Temple.

"And he made a whip of small cords and put them all out of the Temple, with the sheep and the oxen, sending in all directions the small money of the changers and overturning their tables." John 2:15.

As it stands today, those who orchestrated the hullabaloo of last week must have realised the futility in their clandestine efforts because no law permits a CJ to relocate his State court to other State.

Also, all the efforts geared towards stopping Fayose, the man popularly elected by Ekiti people have failed and only God knows who will get burnt by the fire ignited by those who were rejected by Ekiti people but wanted to retain power, using the judiciary.

I therefore wish to align myself with the call by Fayose and the PDP for a through probe of the Ekiti judicial crisis with a view to bringing those found culpable to book.

As for those that have promoted the judicial crisis above the gruesome murder Chief Omolafe Aderiye, such that they could not even offer one sentence of sympathy in their State Broadcast, God will definitely meet them at the point of their wickedness.

Finally, no one owns more stake in Ekiti than the others. Rather, Ekiti belongs to all of us and the wish of the people MUST be RESPECTED.
