Nesoalba:

I think it is too early for you to apply for visa for your mum based on your recent PR. Technically you are not yet a permanent resident until you land in Canada. Your PR is approved but will only be granted upon arrival at Canadian port of entry. With this said, you don’t have necessary document to back up her application: means of livelihood in Canada, accommodation, tax, PR card, bank statement because you will be responsible for her expenses based on your note above. I will advise you do your landing, get a job, stable income source, proof of accommodation: rental agreement, utility bill etc before you apply for her. From experience it will take you 6months to settle in and that is when I will advise you to put in her application. Note this is my personal thought as a Canada resident but my thought may be wrong.
Thank you for your kind reply.

Hello Guys, I recently got PR and would be relocating in December. I intend to apply for a visitor visa for my mum so that she can come with us. I don't know if this is the right place, but I need guidance on how best to apply and the necessary documents to submit. Note that she's retired and doesn't have any source of income per se.

Nothing of such is written on the admission letter. NOUN students consider themselves full time though. I just don't want it to conflict with my full time work experience.

In that case, LOE post-ITA will suffice.

Yes, it is Master's.

I cannot access my transcript as the school is bent on not giving it individuals. However, I might have to go with your suggestion. That is, using start date as 2015 and end date as 2017 thus having two years as my duration.

As per my final question: I studied at NOUN. I was working full time while studying. This is possible since NOUN is a distance education institution. My employment reference letter states 40hrs a week as my wprking time (that is 8hrs a day). My question is, is I select full time (15hr/wk) under the education section, will it conflict with my work experience for the same period which i have also stated as full time?

This can be explained easily using an LOE post ITA. What is the mode of study as written on your admission letter, full-time or part-time? Whatever is written there should guide you.

Others can wade in too.

House please I need your advise. I want to submit my Express Entry profile latest by March. I am in my 30s and I will do my next birthday in April. Hope completing and submitting my Express Entry profile before my next birthday (which will be in a month's time) will not affect my CRS points concerning age (remember for every single increase of age above 29 is minus 5 point) when my CRS is being calculated? Wonderful people of the house, advise me please

It definitely would if you don't get ITA before your birthday.

Guys I have a question o!

So I sent both my Bsc and my MSc for evaluation instead of only MSc as I letter learned. Though my report says "Master's" as my Canadian equivalent, the credentials section of the report clearly mentions the two certificates I sent for evaluation.

Now, do I need to upload just my MSc or both certificates when filling my application?

Upload Your ECA, MSc Certificate and then the BSc certificate. No worries

Congratulations to the people that aced IELTS. The rest of the journey will be smooth for you.

For those who couldn't make it this time, you would next time. If you got a 6.5 in WRITING and are sure that you did the tasks well, go for a remark, else, register for a new test. If you missed out in either of LISTENING or READING, the chances of getting it upgraded is very slim, like 1% success rate. So I'd advise that you register for a new test.

Three of my students got great scores this time and it was their 1st experience. (LRWS - 8.5/8.5/9, 9/9/8.5, 7/7/7, 8/7.5/7.5).

Looking forward to the results of others writing tomorrow.

Greetings to everyone here.
I appreciate the information shared here. Please I have some specific questions to ask.
My wife is the PA.
Am a mechanical engineer with 8+ years experience and an MSc degree from UK, my B.Engr is from Nigeria.
What documents do I need to send for verification to support our applications (to increase our CSR) pls?
we will be writing IELTS soonest (though I have written before and had "guy-man" scores lol).

1. MSc ? which of the verifying bodies is best?
2. Do I need to go through the WAEC stuff (I dread it)?

Thanks

Kindly visit page 1 for answers to all your current and future questions.

I've done BSc evaluation with WES initially without WAEC, just want to know if it will be required this time.

Yes if the certificate was obtained in Nigeria. However, you would only pay CAD$100 for the upgrade plus the regular fees for transcript processing and verification as well as WAEC/NECO transcript processing, verification and scratch card.

Do the maths...

ICES = CAD$200 + Transcript Application/Processing (Which can be sent via school's official email address)
WES = CAD$100 + Transcript Application/Processing + WAEC/NECO Transcript Application/Processing + Scratch Card/Result checker + Verification back and forth (which happens most times).

At this rate I don't think it's worth anyone's time to build and maintain a page one on the next part of the thread. Let everyone just ask their questions and let everyone just keep responding. What's the essence of a Page one if the same FAQs are still being asked and answered? Meanwhile so much work goes into building and updating the page.

Those of us who read page one can always come back to this part 6 to read it.

The problem is with seniors who continue to answer already answered questions because newbies won't stop asking such. So until seniors start referring people to page 1 or totally ignoring people who are hell-bent on spamming the thread with such questions, this problem will continue.

I've decided to 'wakapass' any such questions and if I'm in a good mood, would refer to page 1.

Adios!!!

Congratulations to all PPR grabbers, @tjbrown and especially @sting007. I was seriously praying no one would quote the entire post in order to say 'congratulations.'

Please my people, I haven't gotten any good sleep since I heard about this Diamond Bank take over rumour by Access bank cos my POF is chilling in FD there (90days tenor) since Sept 2018. Rolled it over for another 90days on 14th Nov and raised a CSE and uploaded the new investment letter Infact the FD has been liquidated in DB today and moved to my GTB account, had already left work this afternoon to a branch close by to get it re-invested when an overzealous staff at CS got me pissed with her disgusting rude behaviour and I walked off on her without re-investing. Back here in my office, I'm here wondering if it's a sign from God that I should jejely leave my money where it was biko after all DB gave a much better rate than the so called GTB?

You've liquidated already, so your question is coming a little late as you would have to re-invest in either DB or GT and also raise a CSE.
[s]You were running from something and later entered the same thing[/s]. grin Goodluck cool
BTW: Access Bank isn't buying over Diamond bank.

Good morning all,

Please I will like to know whether I can get extra points from professional qualifications like ICAN and ACCA in Canadian CSR calculator (Express Entry) or is it better to just restrict my WES evaluation to academics qualifications like Masters?

Thanks for your anticipated response.

Hello everyone,

I hope i get a positive response from at least one person so please if you are kindly assist.

I am a 30 years old female and will be clocking 31 in 2 months time, i currently have a BSC and a Masters from a UK university. Work experience of over 7 years including 1 year NYSC. i have an IELTS result of Overall= 7.0 Listening 8.5 Reading 6.0 Writing 6.5 Speaking7.5. I am married with 2 kids and hubby has 14 years experience but without a masters degree.

My questions:

Can i apply and if yes what province should i go for

Should i apply for a reevaluation because i think i should get a higher mark in my reading and writing.

Sorry to bore you but please just one response will make my day .

Thank you

You can apply, however you need to rewrite IELTS and get a minimum of 8777(LRWS) to be able to score above 440.

No need to apply for remark as your Reading score would most certainly remain the same.

Also, get your spouse to write IELTS as well to boost your scores.

Lastly, start with your credential evaluation (UK MSc using WES) and let your spouse evaluate his as well using ICES (I'm assuming his 1st degree was obtained in Nigeria)

Welcome to Part 6. In order not to end this part in a few days, I think we should observe the following:

1. For any genuine question that is complicated and hasn't been answered before on this thread (Parts 1-6), 1, 2 or 3 correct answers should be provided. Before quoting the individual to answer the question, kindly read through to verify that nobody has answered the question satisfactorily. This will reduce duplication of answers.

2. For any question that is as basic as A,B,C, kindly ignore the poster. When the person realizes this, s/he will go to page one and read up.

3. For any question that has been answered before, kindly refer the poster to the page on which it was answered or to page 1.

4. Let's endeavor to carry out our own research before asking any question here and even after getting an answer.

5. Let's help to protect the integrity of this thread and its posters by reporting any poster who posts any information that is against the rules and regulations of this entire process as well as posts that are spams or irrelevant to this cause.

6. @Justwise You have done well so far. Keep it up Sir/Ma

7. Thanks to everyone that has read up and willingly or unwillingly provide answers to challenging questions.

8. Cheers

Based on the little information I've gathered from reading this thread from part 1 up until part 5, I have come to the conclusion that;

1. A lot of people are ignorant.

2. A lot of people want to be spoon-fed.

3. A lot of people have low IQ.

4. A lot of people have a strong sense of entitlement.

5. A lot of people are not patient.

6. A lot of people don't plan ahead.

7. A lot of people want the easy way out.

8. A lot of people don't know how to use the 'search button' on Nairaland or even google.

9. A lot of people don't research/check any information they get before using or spreading it.

10. A lot of these category of people will not like this post.

NOTE: This is not directed at anyone in particular. If you think this post applies to you, then it means you are guilty of one or more of the above points raised. smiley

Hello house am new on the express entry just preparing to write IELTS,my husband and i just want to start the process and am suppose to be the primary applicant because of my masters from scotland, i just want to know if we have a chance at the express entry pool, because he doesnt have a masters and he too is just about to write IELTS

1. You are better being the PA because of your Masters.

2. You are better being the PA because you are probably younger than your husband

3. Your target scores for IELTS should be at least LRWS - 8777 for a CLB 9

4. You stand a good chance at getting a score above 440 (which is somewhat enough for an ITA at the moment) especially if you are <35 years old

5. For a robust information concerning all that you would need, kindly visit and study page 1.

Cheers

Please is there anyone that booked a slot in any of these hospitals and doesn't need it anymore? Please help me out.
