It is better safe than sorry. I have read severally that CIC recognizes marriage certificate approved by the Federal government. Please use the certificate from the court to avoid stories that touch. Good luck

Deyonsesi:

Thanks for your feedback. Does this mean that eligibility check is still pending? Or its done at CIO?

dtush:

Based on some analysis on immtracker and pple's input on Canadian visa forum. It takes about 6 weeks for ur file to get transferred. Mine too 7 weeks before it was transferred to LVO. I know of someone whose file took 3 months before transfer. So you are still on course. To when when your file has been transferred, your additional documents status will change to "we do not need additional documents"

You can only claim points if he has gotten his PR approved and card in hand because you would need to show proof of this when applying.

RuggedArab:
Good morning,
I have a question to ask.

I have a sibling (younger bro) that studied in Canada. After first degree he was given a chance to have Canada experience. He has since been working for over 2 years plus now. At the moment he is renewing his visa to PR and has enrolled for CPA. Though I think he is being nominated by his current employer and sure they will grant his PR. He has lived in Canada for over 7 years now and never visited Nigeria.

My question now is, can I calm point for sibling staying in Canada? Are there documents I need to show?

I appreciate any prompt response. I need to calculate my CRS score based on the answers I get from this question. I really need that 15 points grin

Thanks a lot. We will both get our PPR mail by God's grace.

Peaceful2016:
I've been on NA2 since Aug 21... I sent two mails and got the reply that my file was at CIO Sydney... Its when I called on October 19, I was told my file had moved to London. I'm still on NA2 till now. There's no specific pattern some files are processed faster than others.
Team London I hail oh... The wait is real
BTW congrats to all PPR recipients

Congratulations to all the PPRs in the house, today has brought in a lot to celebrate
My sibling had her app at NA from July 20 till Sep 2/3 then PPR came Sept 5. When she sent a mail in Aug she was told application was at CIO. Till now no idea where her VO was. Lol. Just try to relax you are closer to your PPR than you imagine. All the best. [/quote]

Thanks a lot for your feedback this encourages me. My hope is in God.

Good evening house,

I trust you all had a good day. Please i would like the house to advice me on an issue. I have been on NA2 for over 30days now and going by trends, i expected my application to have gotten to a LVO/VO at this stage. To my surprise when i asked CIC for my visa office yesterday, i was informed that my application was still at centralized intake office Sydney and yet to be transferred to a local visa office.

If any one has been in this situation before kindly share your experience. Isn't eligibility test done at NA2 stage and at the local visa office?

Look forward to your response(s). Thank you

Hello Chiobich,

I will answer question one because I have experienced it myself. This excerpt from CIC confused me as well because my hubby who is the PA obtained his masters from the UK via distance learning. The excerpt applies to distance learning degree obtained from a Canadian school either from outside Canada or within Canada. If your degree was from a Canadian school, then this applies to you. But if it wasn't then you should not concern yourself with this and follow the below steps when completing your profile after you receive your ITA.

1. Verify your distance learning degree via WES.

2. When filling your profile, after you input your school name, put (by correspondence) in bracket.

3. Write a LOE (important) explaining that your master's degree was obtained via distance learning and attach your admission letter to authenticate your claim too. You must also state to CIC that you do not require a police certificate for your study period as you were not physically present in the country in the course of your study. Very important too.

We have passed the R10 stringent check stage of our application and we did the above and all is fine.

Good luck in your application

chiobich:
Hello everyone,

I am amazed at the extent of information one can gather here. It is better than anything an 'agent' can offer. This is the beginning of my sojourn on this platform and this Canada journey also. I have read through the page and I have a good knowledge of all that is required. Kudos to you all. I have a few questions that I would appreciate answers to please:
I am 33 and hubby is a year older. I am aiming to be the PA since I have 5 more points in age and also getting employment reference letters would be easier cos I have had only two employers as against DH's 4.
So one of my questions stems from the fact that I have an MBA via distance learning from a UK university. Although my degree certificate does not state that in any way, I am worried that it may not be accepted bearing in mind the extract I got from the CIC site on document requirements. See below:

In cases where an applicant’s background information suggests that a Canadian education credential may have been obtained via distance learning either abroad or while present in Canada, it is at the officer’s discretion to request for supporting documentation.
If it is determined that the applicant obtained more than 50 percent of their education via distance learning, the applicant should not be awarded additional Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points for having a Canadian education credential. If the reduction in CRS points results in the applicant having a score below the minimum CRS, the application should be refused per A11.2

&
Applicants are instructed to indicate that their education was completed by correspondence by typing in brackets {by correspondence} on the same line as the education institution name found in the Education Background Information tab of GCMS. The discretion remains with the officer to decide if a police certificate is required for the country of the education institution

2.) Furthermore, I also need to know if I can use the job i did 4 years ago as my primary NOC instead of my current job. (I am having some issues deciding with my current job-next question explains why)

3.) Do you think I can use Credit Manager 0122 NOC. My job details in the past 3 and half years has been as a Retail & Credit Risk Analyst. But under the Lead Statement for the said NOC 0122, it states that is for "managers". I am only a 4th level officer in my bank although my work entails approving credit requests for disbursements and everything related to processing credit requests. I also supervise other junior officers. Will they raise an eyebrow due to my level? I am not a middle or senior level officer. I am thinking NOC 1212 but I am not sure that cuts it.

Apologies for my long write-up. I don't want to keep disturbing you guys with questions. Please help me to make a decision.

Thank you.
