Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Working With Arik Air by Tamedu: 10:54am On Jun 02, 2008
Luciano & Stalker, I agree with you on the advice for Goatmeat. The essence of this post is not to drag anybody into problems, but to correct some wrongs in our society. I posted this when I consider what our fellow Nigerians are going through in S/Africa now. For some of us who spent few years abroad,we know what Nigerians go through to make ends meet. Must we face same in Nigeria by Nigerians too? The implication of Arik air treatment is in many fold. The company is under threat, same with passengers and Nigeria Aviation industry.

Let me share my company view with you on this. When we first got wind of Arik Air staff complaints about their management, our company head of security was given a task to investigate this. His findings from Arik staff and the last staff satisfaction survey done by the Arik shows that almost all their staffs are not happy with the management. This report was used to advice our management that no staff should fly on Arik Air to any where untill there is an improvement in this. This stand was taken as these unhappy staff can at any time sabotage the airline and the result may be too much for the airline to bear.

Another view is the recent collaboration between some sacked staff of this airline with an NGO to make noise to those concerned in this industry about the airline staff plight. They are at the final lap of their moves now. We are aware those running the company are well connected, but the noise will be too much for them to ignore. We are writing a comprehensive report to the following people on this matter.

1. The presidency- To know if this is the type of rule of law promised Nigerians
2. Aviation ministry- If this is not part of ''corners'' responsible for air mishaps in the country
3. Labour ministry/NLC- If Nigerians still need to under go this kind of treatment working in Nigeria.
4. Immigration- If Nigeria content and job quota permits white/black treatment in Arik and see if all these whites are eligible to work here
5. Nigeria air travellers- If they still want to continue travelling in new aircrafts with unhappy crews/staff
6. Catholic bishops- If this is what they preached to Arik Nebukad or they are just interested in gifts from him(We have list of all their gifts)
7. Arik lenders(Banks)- To see if their money is safe when there is problem in Arik.

We just need more confirmation from more Arik on this post as all efforts will be done to liberate them. You don't need to mention your name, just confirm all these issues and you people will be free.

And if you decide to keep quiet, all the best. Some Indian/Lebanese companies doing same thing as Arik are facing music now.

Last word for Arik management. Many airlines have come and gone(you can check their list from FAAN). Most of their earlier death is whatv you are practicing, you have a choice of making your people your asset or you make them ruin you asset. A word is enough for the wise.

Goatmeat, I can see that you are really sweating writing your piece. Well, you are enjoying the euphoria of new planes with old and crude ways of treating people. No wonder your customer service is that poor. All my friends that flew you once promised not to repeat the mistake again. A friend flew to Abuja in the morning and N1,500 was added to the return price same day.

There is a saying in Yoruba that '' A beni lori, ko ni fe ki ida koja lori e''. Meaning those that kill with sword will not like the sight of the sword talkless of being dangled over his head. The money Arik is enjoying now was stolen from NIPP and this was revealed at the power probe. I learnt your chairman was just a poultry farmer by 1999. Let him come out and tell us how he got money for new planes btw 1999 and 2006 when Arik came on board. These are some of the abandoned project Ribadu was not allowed to complete. Madam Farida, you can see thieves calling innocent young Nigerians thieves.

Try and work on Arik chairman and Peter Odili fast. The company is just like a channel to repertriate our NIPP stolen money or better still a medium of money laundering. You know if they can transfer the money, why can't we use it to get new planes. We all wise for Nigeria now.

Gaffiti,I'm not trying to run down the company as it suppose to be a good omen for us the younger generation. My only concern is the treatment being given to the younger ones who left their job to pursue a career in the company. Loosing a job immediately you just left one to me is the greatest job in the world.

I think your friend must have spent up to a month there now, tell him/her to tell you the story. If it is different from mine, let us share it here.

My good friends, the irony of the situation is that the Chairman is a Nigerian from Edo State and not a foreigner at all.

My fellow nairalander, this is just an advice for you all. Please don't leave your present job to take up any kind of job with ArikAir. I have friends who did this and the decision is one of the worst ever taken by them. The working environment there is the worst than working with Indians. They have one animal like man as their chairman. His passion is sacking people without any cause. I learnt he once sacked a whole department. He did not respect the contract lettergiven to his staff and pay no attention to their welfare. His nickname is Mr. Point and kill.

He has set the expatriate against Nigerians and branded his fellow Nigerians as thieves. This is a man who is being exposed now by probe into NIPP.

You can find out from those working there, they will tell you more. It is getting to a time when NLC will be drafted into this.

So, a word is what?
Romance / Re: I'm Not Comfortable With My Baby's New Job - What Do I Do? by Tamedu: 4:43pm On May 23, 2008
Boyfriend,my only worry for you is that if she is picking a job at Arik Air. Tell she has no job yet. Their chairman will sack her before she signs her letter of appointment. Arik job is just like not working. They have one mad animal as their chairman. You care for his aka(Point & kill), for his passion for sacking people.

Apart from Arik Air, just pray for her and help her look out for another job fast. Air hostesss job is not a career job for a woman o.
Romance / Re: My Boyfriend Saw A Nasty Text Message On My Phone by Tamedu: 3:19pm On Apr 11, 2008
You can't bambooze us on Nairaland. You mean a text message meant for your friends will be an issue with your man? Is the content of the text the issue or just who you sent it to? And you made no mistake sending credit to the man from your phone. You need to face public hearing b4 you say the truth.
Romance / Re: Do You Sometimes Miss Your Ex (boyfriend Or Girlfriend) by Tamedu: 12:50pm On Apr 11, 2008
What exactly did you miss? I think you are just missing your inability to screw her. What a miss. Take heart that is an opportunity of a lifetime you just missed.
Romance / Re: Im In Love With My Step- Brother: What Should I Do? by Tamedu: 11:32am On Apr 11, 2008
You have no problem babe at least yours is not as complex as this.

Two men met at a bus stop & struck up a conversation. One of them kept complaining of family problems. Finally, the other man said: You think you have family problems?Listen to my situation.
A few years ago I met a young widow with a grown up daughter & we got married.Later my father married my stepdaughter. That made my stepdaughter my stepmother & my  father became my stepson. Also,my wife became mother-in-law of her father-in-law.Then the daughter of my wife,my stepmother, had a son. This boy was my half-brother because he was my father's son,but he was also the son of my wife's daughter, which made him my wife's grandson. That made me the grandfather of my half-brother.This was nothing until my wife & i had a son.Now the half-sister of my son,my stepmother,is also the grandmother. This makes my father  the brother in law of my child, whose stepsister is my fathers wife,I'm my stepmothers brother-in-law,my wife is her own's aunt,my son is my fathers nephew & my own grandfather. The first manshouted'Stop ther.'I dont have any problem, thank you.
