EmeeNaka: Expedia is a legit site including those i mentioned. Just read the t&c of the flight before you pay. August is a peak travel period and ticket prices are quite expensive. |

PPR! Third time is the charm. I had extensive and clean travel history, employment history, solid proof of funds but i had no home tie and to make matters “worse” i had just made a career change. My refusals were formed around home ties and purpose of visit which i unsuccessfully tried to address with SOPs and study plans for over two years. I couldn’t conjure home ties where there was none neither could i continue in my old career. I was at a fix so i angrily decided to push it to the back burner and carry on with my life and career as they were. As it is with strong desires regardless of passage of time, i found myself on this journey again more determined than my past. On the submission date, i prayed for speed and good news and specifically requested for my application to be finalized before the end of July. Today, i praise God from whom all blessings flow. Application submitted-21st April Upfront medicals- 21st April Medicals updated-19th May Eligibility and ghost updates- i didn’t keep tabs Ppr- 21st July Documents submitted Admission letter, tuition deposit receipt Proof of funds- Real estate documents, employment documents of main sponsor and myself as well as bank statements, payslips, introduction letter, e.t.c total funds exceeded nse requirements. Personal documents such as birth certificate Academic documents God bless everyone who answered my many questions. I hope everyone on this thread experiences even greater joy than i have today and those who have had refusals find the resilience and assistance needed for a successful reapplication. Amen. 48 Likes 1 Share |

Spectro: This is an annoying bump but i know you’ll figure it out. I remember that someone in part 18 with similar family circumstances as yours got his visa approved. Unfortunately, I cannot remember his handle. My advise will be for you to further strengthen your home times in your next application and tackle the purpose of visit from all perspective including those not stated in the gcms notes. Tuition payment, current employment, career stability and most importantly, the strength of your relationship with your parents should not be overlooked. Unfortunately, a higher burden of proof is required from some people and we must provide compelling reasons to eliminate or significantly reduce the doubts of the vo. Sometimes, it can be unfair. |

Bunmijab: A change of name is not complete until you reflect the change on your government issued id, update your bvn, update your bank accounts, e.t.c. If you have enough time, yes you can do a change of name before submitting your application. If not, please proceed with your maiden name and ensure you declare your marital status on your immi form. Regardless of the name you answer, the most important thing is not to conceal your marital status on your application. |

deeteeneey: The regular monthly statement is sufficient. I would only advise going to the bank if a lot of time has elapsed between the period of the last statement and your application date. I think 2 weeks validity is the standard. 1 Like |

peruxie: VOs may request for additional information or documents while processing your application. In all the cases i know of, if you provide the required documents and it corroborates your application, you will receive ppr in a very short time. The VO wants you/ your sponsor to demonstrate your/his full financial commitment and wants an evidence of your employment. It’s quite simple in my own opinion. |

Frankrobbn1: This happened at my last application. I was ecstatic about the medical request and wasted my money only to receive a denial few days later. I must say that Canada has the most inconsistent and disorganized visa application process ever in my experience. For instance, after i addressed the issues raised in my first gcms notes, the second gcms contained more issues that were not referenced in the first note. There were gaps that showed the VOs were not as detailed as they appear and it was disappointing. I demonstrated travel experiences yet the VO said i had none. I had 3 years education gap but had work experience yet, the VO said i had 6 years education gap and doubted my motives. The VO said i wasn’t academically strong . yet my cousin who graduated with a third class science degree, who hadn’t worked for 2 years was granted a visa to study a diploma in business. What does academically weak even mean? Is Canada not meant for 2;2 holders? It made no sense 2 Likes |

Legacyedition: No I didn’t pay that much and I don’t have any experience with immigration lawyers. Generally speaking, One would expect lawyers to charge more however, a successful application is not entirely about money or representation. There are just some things money or representation may not resolve. E.g family ties. 2 Likes |

It is important for anyone who decides to outsource their visa application process to a third party to be informed of the pros and cons. Anyone with common sense and a sprinkle of research skills can become an “agent” in 10 minutes. Let us carry out due diligence lest we fall prey to inexperienced hustlers and fraudsters. If you decide to use an”agent” please consider a RCIC and note that they will cost you thousands of CAD depending on the nature of the brief. They will provide you with a retainer-ship agreement and every single discussion will be documented. The ICCRC can commence disciplinary actions against them for infractions as basic as refusal to provide you with an agreement and they can lose their license. I am currently using an RCIC and i verified his membership and ensured that he has no record of disciplinary investigation. I also researched on my rights under the agreement and i will not hesitate to file a report if he is negligent or unprofessional in any way. This is my third application and I didn’t want any headache or pressure this time around hence my decision to outsource my entire application so i can manage my stress level. Still, i read this thread and half of the previous one. If you decide to use an agent who is experienced in visa applications but not a RCIC, please do your due diligence and weigh the risks. Usually, they will provide guidance for the entire application but you will submit your application by yourself. I have used one unsuccessfully in the past but a few family members have used the same agent successfully. Will i recommend the agent? No. That’s because they apply the same strategy to every application and this thread teaches us the opposite. Some will even outsource your application to others and you don’t want anyone messing up your chances at a successful application. Due diligence is critical. There are brilliant minds on this thread who to the best of my knowledge are more professional and better qualified than many agents put together, yet they do not charge a dime. Read this thread, be familiar with the application process and you will be confident to diy successfully. ................... May has brought us good news, our expectations are not cut short and our dreams are not dashed. We have experienced favor and mercy concerning our applications and it is raining ppr for all. Amen! 13 Likes 2 Shares |

Rani001: Notary publics i.e lawyers notarize documents while affidavits are sworn to before the commissioner of oaths who work in the court registry. If you’re in Lagos, the cheapest option is to go to any business centre around ikeja high court and tell them you want to notarize a document, they’ll make an introduction and help out for about 300-500 per document. I believe you can visit the high court vicinity in any other state for the same results but at a higher fee. 2 Likes |

Sleekcee: It is clear that this is a rogue agent and not an RCIC. His style of intimidation and threat is juvenile and you shouldn’t be bothered about the unintelligent responses and reaction. Can you request for gcms notes? There is a package that provides you with the notes and copies of all the documents submitted during application. This is very important and it will provide clarity on the entirety of your application. Did you sign any agreement? Do you have formal correspondence? If the gcms notes shows any discrepancy on his part, i believe that you can file a report against him. I have deferred admission in the past and i received a new admission letter to that effect and correspondence from the school as well. What is his proof of deferral if he is unwilling to provide any evidence? Email the school directly for a real time status on your admission. You should get some information. Provide the ielts result, while waiting for the gcms and feedback from your school. Also consider more experienced advise from others. It will end in praise. |

Moren002: If you require professional assistance in canadian application ensure that you only use a licensed immigration consultant/ lawyer. They will never refer to themselves as agents. Please google licensed immigration consultants for more info and note that they are expensive. However, if you decide to personally handle your application, you must read this thread to have an understanding of the journey and ask questions as you proceed. All the best. 1 Like |

ogunleyesijibomi: You have to weigh the consequences of your decisions and decide if it’s worth the risk. N4m is a little over 10k cad living expenses and may not be considered sufficient especially if you are self sponsored. Why would you want to exhaust your entire savings on studying? What is the significant impact on your career prospects? Why will you want to return at the end of your studies if you have little or no money to fall back on? Have you considered using a legitimate sponsor or co-sponsor? I wish you the best this time around. |

Flywire has several payment options. Payments denominated in Naira will require a debit card. The cheapest payment method is the international bank transfer option in CAD via Form A. Select the international transfer option in CAD, follow the prompt, you’ll receive a payment instruction from flywire, print it, attach your admission letter, degree cert, passport data page, a letter of authorization from your Uncle and complete form A from your bank. Once the payment is approved, your bank will debit your uncle’s account and transfer the funds to flywire. This will be at CBN exchange rate and may take as long as 2-3 weeks If you can’t wait that long, you can make a transfer from any dom account to flywire. I think there are options for $, CAD, £ and € 2 Likes |

Iberisamuel90: Are you an international student paying from within Canada? I used the international payment option so my experience will differ from yours. My understanding of what you wrote is that if you choose to pay via credit card, a fee will be charged payable to the payment gateway- Moneris. Debit card payments via visa or mastercards are not allowed. If you do not have a credit card, why not log into your humber account and follow the prompts which may lead you to the moneris website and attempt payment with your debit card. If it is declined, you can refer to your humber invoice and do a bank or online transfer. 1 Like |
