Nobody is refunding your visa fees. Just your IHS.

I am pretty sure you get refunded the visa and IHS fee if you cancel before biometrics. I stand to be corrected on this however, I still asked this question directly to UKVI a couple of days ago and the officer I spoke to confirmed both fees will be refunded if cancelled before biometrics.

I just want to say thank you for this insight.

Update:
I received an email today to say that his application will now be reconsidered and looked into again.

Just a case of waiting now to hear back from them but I am pleased that at least that acknowledge the fact that they may have made an error on their part.

I must add this came after I received two emails saying it wasn’t possible to reconsider and to reapply. One from the online form where you had to pay, and the other email.
The positive response came from the complaints email. Initial email was sent to them on the 18th December.

I will keep everyone updates as soon as I hear back from them.

Many thanks and good luck to everyone waiting to hear from them.

To the best of my knowledge this is just a flimsy excuse which I believe you can tackle and win. Kindly send a detailed mail explaining the education system in Nigeria especially the ongoing ASUU Strike, pandemic and endsars which hindered smooth educational system. Explain there is no possibility of abandoning over 5years of sweat studying so as to over stay in UK. Search for the email addresses to send the mail to on this thread, I can't flip through not to miss these points. If it was me, I will state all this without any reapplication till I am justified. No time to waste money. Remember I went through route of denial with flimsy excuse, addressed with them and was granted.

Hello House,
I am about to get a nice paying job in London but the company is requesting for my National Insurance Number which is yet to be given to me. My question is what do I fill in my application , it can't be left blank. Thanks

I do not think there is a way to go round this as the company is not allowed by law to offer employment to anyone without a valid NI number / proof that they are legally allowed to work in the UK. I suggest you get in touch with the company direct and explain the situation to them.

I believe I have found the link - the one you pay to send email right?

Many thanks for your help, I have now sent them an email outlining the obvious facts - email below if it'll help any other person.

Dear Sir / Madam,

I hope this email finds you well.

I am writing in response to the refusal of visa for our son ............. Which I have just noticed in my junk folder today.

I note that his application has only been refused due to the fact that the officer believes there is no further indication of any further studies in 2021 to return to Nigeria to.

I would like to point your attention to the fact that we uploaded alongside his application details of his ongoing Law School education.

The educational system in Nigeria is different from what it is in the UK. For a law student, they have to go through 4 years at a Higher institution, after which are enrolled into a Law school for another year before finally going for another year at NYSC, this in total makes 6years - 4 years of study at the university, 1 year in Law School and 1 year of national youth service.

******* finished University in 2019, and gained admission into Law school in 2020 (His admission letter dated 2020 has been attached which shows he is in batch II 2020 - second batch), his Law school education has been greatly impacted due to the strike in Nigeria, the Covid19 pandemic which halted everything, and the very recent End SARS protest.

He resumed Law school on the 13th of February and only spent 2 months before having to leave due to the Covid pandemic. He only spent 2 months out of the 1 year and has been out of school since the beginning of the pandemic (Nigeria has no means to take education virtually like other advanced countries such as UK, so students have had to stay at home).

Even without the distruptions that has happened this year, he would have finished Law school in March 2021, but with the everything that has happened, it will even take him even longer to finish – with a potential end date somewhere in the end of 2021.

There is absolutely no way in the world that he would abandon the 5 years of hard work and studying he has put in at university in Nigeria to flee to the UK as indicated in the refusal letter. If this had been the intention, we wouldn’t have enrolled him at Law school in the first place. Not now that he is very close to his dreams, which is to be called to bar!

I strongly believe that his Law school information has not been put into consideration when reaching the conclusion to refuse his application, and that only his degree which has indeed finished has been considered.

We really just want to spend time together as a family for Christmas before he resumes back to Law school in *** on the 4th January (proof attached to application), and to have him refused for a reason that is not justifiable is heart breaking to us as a family.

We really hope that his law school indeed be put into consideration, and that his application is reconsidered as we believe there must have been an oversight somewhere.

Many thanks in advance for your help and I look forward to hearing back from you.

Thank you so much for your input, it is really appreciated.

I will go through the thread now to look for the email, and will fire something across to them but please do help me with it if you manage to find it also.

I am glad to hear that you also went through the route and got their decision overturned. It is really unacceptable the way these people treat applications.

Hopefully I will be back with some good news soon.

Thanks

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone can shed some lights into the refusal below.

So we have applied for my step son to come visit for Christmas. He has never applied before, was never interested to be honest. He is currently un Law School, cue to famish in May 2021, resumption date is 4th January.

We supplied all the information to prove this in the application, enough funds and every other requirements met. The VO has said even though he agrees that he is in school, he notices that the school was meant to end in 2020 - obviously Covid has extended this to 2021, and we attached the resumption date details and all to the application.

I feel they have just found a flimsy excuse to deny him and I am seriously considering getting in touch with UK Visa themselves but just wondering if anyone has any advice? Like how else are you suppose to prove the extension of study if not the official resumption letter from Law School and all which was attached.

Thanks

Good afternoon,

Just a quick question is it the normal for home office to call over once to confirm?

I invited my younger brother who is a student to come to the UK for holiday, I am the sole sponsor. I got a missed call last week from the home office with a voicemail. The next day they called and I spoke to a lady who confirmed my relationship with him.

This afternoon I got a missed call from a private no and the second time I picked it, it was a man from the home office asking questions about myself and my brother.

After coming off the phone, my younger brother pinged me to say the same man just called him asking thesame set of questions.

I'm a bit worried as all the time i have sponsored people to the UK I have never received a call from the home office not once not to talk of speaking with them twice.

Any experience or advice wld be appreciated.

Thanks

Crime / Bank Fraud In The Time Of BVN by taolut: 11:59pm On Jan 27, 2016
Hi

Just want to share an experience with you, a colleague found out today 1.4 million was transferred from his bank online. He has his token with him when he received this transaction alerts.

He called his bank immediately and they have been able to stop one, the other one was transferred to another bank and has been withdrawn.

Now my question is, given that his Internet banking still has the details of the account the money was transferred to, the name of the person, the account number and the bank name. In this day of BVN how easy will it be to locate the person and apprehending them?

They obviously have done their their BVN to be able to use their account now.

Any advice will be appreciated as he is totally broken and still cannot make sense of what and how this has happened.

Thanks

The image below shows the level of the house which is still standing about 13.5 coaches tall. The inside is the same level with the outside. The boy in blue is about 5f 11" tall, this gives you the more ideas about the height. At this point, the very first picture I posted on this thread (the raft) is completely disappeared but the house haven't sink for about a year now. The roof was done in February and I've observed the house haven't sink at all (This picture is less then 2 weeks old). My worries is; if I go ahead and cover the floors with marble and part of the wall too, will it sink? if so how much?

I'm waiting for the dry season to do the drainage.

Thanks.

Thanks everyone for the advise, each and every one had made a valid point, I was just curious as this was what they did to my mum the first time she applied, I contested it and explained clearly to the embassy all their doubts and they called her few days after to bring her passport to collect her visa.

It's just so unfortunate they they prefer lies, well packaged application with lies than the genuine ones I mean if it's truly her intention to run away, she would have applied all these years, it's not like she just suddenly become my sister or that I have just moved here.

Her husband did put all his work papers, and letter. She included her employment letter, her nysc cert and all her kids birth cert to show ties to naija.

Maybe she waits to start her new job then re apply, but I still would fire them an email on Monday as I have a case to use where the tribunal states that it is not enough to refuse visa based on probability of not coming back, I also intend to ask them what source of income they expect someone who has just finished serving to have.

I would still give it my best shot as these people has almost turned naija application to business centres.

If I hear anything, I shall let everyone know.

Once again, many thanks for the contribution, I do appreciate

Good evening everyone, I stumbled on this thread whilst threading online for some help and was hoping someone could please help me shed some light into this form me.

I am a british citizen, live in the UK and work here as well as my husband and children, I have just invite pd my immediate younger sister to come visit and meet my littlw son, I have invited her to come celebrate my sons first birthday party.

I supplied all my documents, my work documents with good income, my husbands pds documents and statements as well as mine, house documents, passports, pictures, name i even supplied my bank statements in Nigeria.

My sister just finished serving and has a job offer which she is meant to start end of oct and she is meant to come for 4 weeks before she starts, she is married with 2 kinds and would be leaving her family behind, she included the evidence of her kids and letter from her hubby.

I wrote a personal letter stating the relationship which is very obvious as we included all our pictures. Even baby pictures and I stated that I understand she is about to start work and that I would be responsible for every expenses of her trip, which I am capable of doing and that we would accommodate her, in fact I paid for her application fee with my card.

To cut the long story short, she was refused today with the reason below

You state that you are supported by your family and have no current income, I note that you submitted documents for your sponsors, I recognise that it is stated that your sponsor propose to bear the cost of the trip however I must take into account your personal economic and personal circumstances in nigeria when coming to my decision. On the basis of evidence provided you appear to have little source of personal income or asset in your country, in the light of all above, I consider that you have failed to show sufficient strong economic ties to satisfy me that on the balance of probability that you intend to leave the UK on the end of a short visit.

This to me is very annoying as I do not think they expect someone who has just finished NYSC and waiting to start a new job to have. Lot of income, is having a sponsor willing to carry everything not good enough, are her kids that she is leaving behind not enough.

I intend to send an email clarifying These assumptions but would really appreciate any help or insight on the right direction.

Thanks in advance

Ok. I went with First Aluminum metcoppo and it's sold for N1,300 per square meter.
I didn't spend up to 980k again, the carpenter had designated his co-carpenter to take the measurement of the entire roofing sheets required and he tried to play a fast one on me by adding excessive sqm so that he can get the money from the aluminum company after I make the payment - it's happening everywhere. Thanks to all the knowledge garnered from this forum, I rejected the estimate they gave me. I took tape and did the measurement and estimates myself and that just saved me more than #280k that that would have gone into the pockets of the crooked carpenter.
Thanks

Well done on the good work sir, please if you don't mind, could you please tell me how many sq meter your roof is as I'm working on my 4 bedroom all ensuing project and just asked someone to take measurement for my aluminium and I'm getting quoted 441.6 sq meter which I feel is a bit too excessive.

I am not within proximity and unable to supervise myself so it's a bit difficult for me to see what's going on.

I have attached the latest picture with the woodwork done

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
