Politics / Re: Lagos Permits Citizen Arrest And Bans Arrest Of Innocent Relatives by TechJunky(m): 7:21pm On Jul 07, 2008
I guess this a good initiative. However, there should be clear cut guidelines on this to avoid innocent people getting victimized by overzealous citizens.

Such wide open powers are susceptible to abuse. We are fully aware of the police abusing its powers through arbitrary arrests and detention of persons. We'd better be careful.
Romance / Re: Compelled To Marry From Ogun State by TechJunky(m): 8:35pm On Jun 04, 2008
In as much as I respect my parents, I wouldn't stand for their dictating for me whom I should marry or where I should marry from. You are old enough to take your own decisions. And, of course, nobody but you will live with your decisions.

Forget stereotypes.

Igbo people like money, who doesn't?

Ijebu people are into juju, which African tribe isn't?

Ishan babes are nymphos, where won't you find nymphos?

Tiv babes are unfaithful, which tribe has faithful babes all through?

Hausa people are violent, what of the area boys at Oshodi?

Yoruba men are polygamous no matter their level of education, religion and wealth, tell me where in Nigeria polygamy is not practiced or in the world, for that matter?

Don't allow stereotypes to becloud your senses.

Parents should leave their children alone as much as possible where relationships are concerned.

But use your head. You and only you know what's best for you. Don't hide behind the so-called parental disproval to shirk your responsibility probably after using your mouth to "cut down an Iroko tree" where your partner is concerned. keep your promise.

Be a person of your words!
