it back to pounds is kinda difficult for me.

Like I said earlier I have more than my living expenses (£9k)funds in my account but the the balance of the tuition is what I dont have in my account.

Hello house, I recently got a scholarship at the London school of economics and political science worth £34,512 while the tuition fee is £20,122 remaining £14,400 for living allowance. However my CAS reflects that I have £0 for accommodation and I intend to pay rent from my allowance. And I can only have access to the fund after I have registered. Should I mention on the visa application form that I will be staying with a friend until I get my allowance? Secondly, how much is the IHS? Can I pay with verve or MasterCard? Thanks.

Good eve, I have been reading thru this thread 4 some days now. I have a problem @ d moment n I don't know what to do. I just got my CAS days back and I am aware that I need to put money in my Acc or my parents acc/legal guardian n count 28days b4 applying online 4 d visa. The problem is my dad fixed my tuition n maintenance in d treasury bill for mths now nd the money will mature this August. I can't wait for August to apply for visa because my programme will commence Sept 7. Shd I get a bank statement from where the money has been fixed and count 28days n request for another bank statement or do I get d bank statement and go directly to apply 4 d visa violating the 28days rule. I feel stuck @the moment. Pls help me with any valuable advice. Thank you.

I picked up my passport with the 1-month vignette in it this morning. I am sharing my experience to help anyone who might need it. I am going to study a PhD. at the University of Surrey.

My timeline:

-Application was made on the 10th of January (school resumed on the 9th Jan, registration closes on the 9th Feb).
-Acknowledgement from Sheffield on the 11th of January.
-Two TLS emails, confirming decision made AND passport pickup came in after 13 working days. The date on the visa vignette however was after 10 working days of the application. I never received an email from Sheffield.

My submission documentation:

- Application form
- Bank statement (Barclays Bank) showing required tuition and maintenance funds for exactly 28 days.
- Cover letter detailing when I returned to Nigeria (I was resident in the UK until November last year), why I want to study for a PhD., and a list of the documentation submitted for the application. This letter was very brief, no long story. Ideally, I should have used to actual application to cover that information (in the further information page)
- MSc. certificate and transcripts (stamped), both original.

I did not provide a TB certificate. This is because I had not been away from the UK for up to six months before making the application. However, for peace of mind, I would advice anyone in this situation to point that out in the "further information" section of the application, do not give the ECO an excuse to refuse your visa.

As for the application process itself, there will always be an interview (over some type of VOIP application, like Skype). They will ask you questions such as:
-what is your name?
-what school are you applying to?
-what is the name of your course (My answer was partially incorrect when I had my interview, I had a brain freeze and said "Renewable Energy" instead of "Environment and Sustainability Research"!)
-why do you want to study this course?
-how will this course benefit your career?

At the end of my interview, I asked the interviewer if there was anything she might want me to explain further. She explained to me that while the interview is a way to get to know a little bit about the applicant, the main thing they want to know is whether or not you have good command of English language. So I guess the important thing to do during the interview is to speak coherently, with good grammar.

I do send money through a store here. He is an agent of AT&T and he charges 5pounds for every 100pounds. He pays in Naira into the account you want to send it to. The second option i use is a friend who often needs pounds here. Dont even try using western union cos d rate will so drop.

Hello, I enrolled in the University of central lancashire perston,i was supposed to resume on 14th of January, but due to the fact that the school fee, has not stayed up to 28 days in my account, I was unable to apply for my visa, I had to request for an extension,the deadline the gave me in the school is 23rd of January, I only have few days from the moment the money would complete 28days to on the 23rd ,I was asked to request for a supper priority visa, that takes only 24 hours, and with extra fee, I want to know my chances of getting my visa approved because am paying more than#1m for just the visa application, I dont want it to go to waste. Hello good morning. Please I was refuse for a visa into uk, am a worker in a company I do earn 180 thousand naira. But I have a barbibg shop not registered and ky worker do deposit every next day of the work money into my Acc. But that I did not add to my doccumen, the immigration officer in Sheffield said his not satisfied because I maid too many deposit in my account and they don't know how I do get those money every day. That they are not sure the period of time I said am going to stay for 3 weeks. And not sure am coming back that time. And they also said any UK future visa will be considered on their individual merit, how ever am likely to be refsued unless my personal circumstance change significantly between now and my next application, I will have to provide compelling new evidence with my new evidence with new next application. Please I want to reapply by January don't know if is wise because they refused me December 2016/21

It's like all seats are booked immediately after new year and ticket money is almost one million if not more for emirates airline from lagos.

you didn't get my question. I said I have a scholarship letter already from the school, so I want to use sponsorship letter from my state govt. in place of maintenance fund. the money has not been released yet by the govt. but I have a letter from them.

Thanks house for your advice. My sis got the CAS form from the school as well as an apology. A few questions please, how can one pay IHS and visa fee now that it's impossible with the CBN restriction policies on Naira cards and when will the UK embassy in Lagos resume from this festive break?
