Baywood: Hello, I know this isn't addressed to me, but if this is just a visit, then I think 4 weeks is pretty long and I'm not sure 600k will cover your expenses for 4 weeks. If your friend is providing accommodation and feeding for you, he should provide a utility bill (like water bill or council tax) that verifies his address and he should also include his bank statement showing that he is financially capable of feeding you. In your application form, where they ask about where you would be visiting, depending on the city you'll be staying in, try and list places that are free to visit. For instance, if in London, maybe Buckingham palace, Travalgar Square etc. and maybe also mention that you want to rest, hence why it's a long visit. 1 Like |

chaochao10: Thank you ![]() We submitted the following: My husband's TB test My BRP and Passport Data page Entry and Exit stamps for when I visited Nigeria Pictures- our visits and wedding pictures (traditional and court). Church wedding is in December My sisters (3 of them) passport Data pages and entry and exit stamps for when they went to Nigeria for the traditional wedding. A cover letter mentioning and explaining the documents that was submitted My last 3 payslips A letter from my company stating that they'll take care of his maintenance if he needs to up to an amount £2000. The minimum is £630. This was in place of providing bank statement for maintenance. A letter from my company certifying that I'm employed by them, my salary (especially as it's increased since my application for my tier 2 visa) and that my employment is ongoing. We wanted to include what's app messages, but we decided against doing that. Even though we had written in the additional information section as one of the supporting documents. We ended up not including it. A letter from my sister about the living arrangement and utility bill, as well as passport data page. A letter from myself addressed to UKVI saying I'm inviting him to relocate. I think that's everything. And of course, lots of prayers ![]() |

chaochao10: Hello, My situation is pretty much the same as yours. I'm on a tier 2 visa. Just had my court wedding and traditional wedding in July in Nigeria. I currently live with my sister, so she wrote a letter pretty much saying that she and my husband should live with her rather than paying rent as we save up for our mortgage. We provided her utility bill and passport details page. My husband applied as my dependant. He had is biometrics on 16th Aug. And he picked up his visa on Friday. Let me know if you have any more questions. 1 Like |

gracykay: Hello GracyKay, sorry to hear about your refusal, but can I please ask exactly when you applied and when you got your decision? My friend had his appointment on 8th May and he's still waiting to hear back from them? Just wondering if it's worth him going to the embassy to check before they close at 4pm today. Thanks. |

justwise: No, that's not correct. You can either get a 3 year visa first and then 2 years afterwards or a one-off 5 year visa. After this, you apply for Indefinite leave to remain. This is for Tier 2 General visas. You can't stay on this visa longer than 5 years in total. |

jelmusboy: Choose 5 years. You wouldn't need to bother about renewal. One of my colleagues chose 5 years and he got it. Wish I did too. |

Hello all, Please I need your guidance. I work in the UK and I have a Tier 2 work visa. My Fiance and I are getting married in July this year and we'll like to apply for a dependent visa for him immediately afterwards. I earn £36k/annum My sister's house is my registered address. Although I live in a shared accommodation, I don't use that address for anything. My sister's house is my bank address and my payslip address. Would I need to show a proof of accommodation or is my payslip sufficient? Please bear in mind that my name isn't on any bills at my sister's house. Also, on my application for my on Tier 2 visa, I didn't need to show any savings as my employer ticked on the box to certify that for me. Reading the guidance, I saw this "If you apply separately from the main applicant you will need to have the necessary funds to meet the maintenance requirement or have a written undertaking from an A-rated Sponsor, unless the main applicant already had leave in a Tier 2 category and when applying for their most recent period of Tier 2 leave was not required to show evidence of satisfying maintenance requirements."[/i] Does anyone know about this? My current visa expires Feb '18, and I can't renew it until a month before expiration. So I'm getting my employer to write a letter just to say that I'm employed by them and they'll be renewing my visa in January and also state my salary as well. I guess my questions are: 1. Do I need to show a proof of accommodation even though I technically live with my sister and I could say he would be coming to live there as well. I could get a letter from my sister to that effect. 2. Based on the guidance above, would we still need to show savings of £630 for 90 days? If yes, can it be in my own account or does it have to be in his own account? (He's the one applying)? 3.What other documents would we need to provide? Thank you very much for your help. |
