Travel / Re: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 7 by Temi87: 9:21am On Oct 02, 2019
thank you very much. i will give that a try. please do you have a detailed idea of how i can certify my documents acceptable to german standards?
sassy92:

You can use student copy for admission but try to get the official copy from your school. Look for a company or school near you, go there and explain that you'd like to use their address for your transcript to be sent to them, apply for the transcript using the address and once its been sent go there and pick it up.
Travel / Re: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 7 by Temi87: 8:28am On Oct 02, 2019
good morning everyone. please i need advice on how to certify my documents for the school i'm applying too. this is what they had to say

An official authentication either can be carried out by every public administration and institution that possesses a seal
(round stamp with emblem) e.g.:
Embassies, residents registration offices, public savings banks, rectories, administrations, schools, bodies responsible for
health insurances and usually universities, but not lawyers, chartered accountants and unions as well as by nationally appointed translators.

i have gone through the thread for information but i need someone to help make the process clearer.

also, is it possible for a student copy of a transcript to be certified as my school does not give out official copy?

thank you

My Appreciation post

First, I want to return all the glory back to God Almighty for the strength he has given me this past 7months, going through this kind of process hasn't been all easy but I thank him cause he's ever faithful, may His name be highly magnified.

GboyegaD: When I first decided to apply for my Masters in December 2018, I emailed him with my list of schools, I had limited list because I was hoping to write GRE in the first week of February, I told him I had gone through all the Nationally ranked schools on USnews that offered Statistics(about 100 of them) , he looked at my list and told me to go over the list again. Looking back at the initial list I sent to him, I realised most of the schools I got admitted into, especially the school I am going to right now; Georgia State University was not there. Thank you very much for the encouragement and for making me go through that list again, I really appreciate your efforts.

Deyemzy: Our friendship kicked off in February, at first because we were both Statisticians. We waited for the admissions together, composed compelling emails to the graduate directors together, when it was time to apply for visa, we scrutinised each other's transcript, conducted several mock interview, etc. Thank you very much dear friend, you were one of my support system during this process.

To my school guys: Tomiwaa, Scott200, iwriterng. It has been a pleasure being in with contact with you all and I am hoping to see the 3 of you in school this August during the graduate or international student orientation.

To the wonderful people I have met through this process: Omohakin, Tegaadogb, Spotlighte, etc

To the nice people I met when I got delayed on my first trial: We literally hustled for dates together, shared info about the next available dates for previously refused individuals, thank you; misstemi2, kay100, Temi87, dwilliams707. I am hoping we all get our visas very soon

Fairheart: Immediately I got delayed the first time, I sent him a message, he was very helpful as he scrutinised my transcript to perfection and conducted several mock interviews for me, thank you for your efforts and time, I do not take it for granted

To everyone: To everyone on this thread who has contributed in one way or the other, to those I have read their transcripts, to those who have stayed on this thread just to help out others, to those who came to my rescue and encouraged me when I was first delayed, I say thank you very much, the things you do accumulated to this approval. I hope I would be able to help the upcoming applicants in any way I could. Keep up the good work

Good evening. Please who know the nearest available date for lagos consulate. I just paid the visa fee so that I’ll book an appointment.

My portal still hasn’t been updated, it still shows my passport is still at the consulate after ten days. Would I be able to book an appointment if it’s still displaying that message? Thank you.

Hi everyone. Please after someone has been given the pink document signifying refusal, what should the cgi portal say. My passport is with me but in the portal it says ‘your passport is still with the US embassy/consulate.

I want to schedule a new appointment but I’m confused to what this means
Travel / Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 15 by Temi87: 6:34am On Jun 15, 2019
Good morning everyone. Thank you to everyone who gave their advice and suggestions the last time I made a post about my denied visa.

After deliberating about it, I’m coming close to waiting for spring 2020 so maybe I can get some funding from schools to boost my chances. But I’m still of a mind to reapply for the visa to the university I chose, though I have no funding for that.

My profile: GRE: 309, TOEFL: 105, GPA: 3.05/5

My question is, should I refire with a new transcript I’m working on or it’s more advisable to go with a funded program. Thank you.

No..... I'm going for a bachelor's degree tho
Travel / Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 15 by Temi87: 9:55am On Jun 12, 2019
Thank you for your time. I’ll make the necessary adjustments and post a transcript before trying again.
bracelum:

Before, I proceed, I must admit that you have a strong profile and shouldn't have applied to this program or this school. Your profile could have gotten you a far better deal. Also, I feel you were slightly unlucky in your visa interview.

BOLD 1:
Those reasons you gave are terrible! Every school that gives i20 have some form of accreditation. Also, I don't know why you mentioned your department or the fact that your undergrad course was similar. In fact, after reading that response, I predicted you were going to be denied.

You need to give a better response. Look for three unique features in your program and say that to the VO. You can get those reasons from your application essays (SOP), assuming you did not copypaste and submit one of those random SOPs online.

For insights, search my previous mentions and look for that University of Idaho candidate that give three superb features of his program. Do not mention accreditation, ranking, school-to-faculty ratio or one of those random things.

BOLD 2:
Link your work experience to your degree. Talk about the various Project Management exposure you had and how it will benefit your degree.

Something like this, "After my graduation, I worked at XXXXXXX, where I was a Field Technician and applied project management techniques such as A, B and C in driving our implementation strategies. After that experience, I had my mandatory NYSC teaching experience at XXXXXXXX, where I tutored five subjects and organized various field trips showing the practical application of project management techniques in [list the five subjects]. After my NYSC experience, I joined XXXXX as a Project Manager Trainee, where I learned advanced techniques such as [insert three industry terms]. You can go further and discuss how this degree will give you career progression.

Now, this is a sample for you to replicate. Don't be a lazybone and copy everything I wrote here. Make your own draft similar to this and make sure you don't lie. The key here is to link your work experience to your current degree

BOLD 3

Your sponsorship seems legit and sound

BOLD 4
The VO wants you to prepare harder and come back for your interview. Your profile is good and you should get the visa if you prepare hard enough.

When you make your next draft, put it here so that it can be reviewed once more before your interview

Lol I’m 25.
Judgepelumi:
I think your age played a factor coupled with you being single at the same time
Travel / Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 15 by Temi87: 9:25am On Jun 12, 2019
Did you get funding?
Davidkking:

My school too.....I hope it's not about the school
Travel / Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 15 by Temi87: 9:25am On Jun 12, 2019
Thank you.
bracelum:

Okay, I'll review your transcript and give my 2 cents
Travel / Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 15 by Temi87: 9:01am On Jun 12, 2019
Missouri state university, masters in project management. My GPA was 3.05/5 though she never asked for my GPA. She worked with my 1-20 and bank statement only, she didn’t ask to see my GRE or TOEFL.
bracelum:

What is the name of your school and program?

You have good test scores and shouldn't be getting a rejection.

What is your GPA too?

Okay. I’ll work on that. Thank you.
The total withdrawals for 6 months was 106,357,549 while total lodgements was 123,659,705. Closing balance was 17,400,793.
Brown2Green:

Visa interview is all about tailoring your words in a way it creates a positive impression to the VO. So it is not about how it impresses you but how it impresses the VO.

Because to them every non-immigrant is a potential immigrant until proven otherwise.

Your SOA, how was the cash flow?
Travel / Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 15 by Temi87: 7:33am On Jun 12, 2019
Yes maybe my response to why the school wasn’t that impressive but it’s honestly why I chose it. I didn’t want to do a masters in construction management as that’s more limiting and I can still parlay the masters in project management in other sectors. What kind of response can I say to that question. Thank you
There were various lump sums there but that’s the capital she uses for her business, about 4.2 million and it’s always returned with profits.
I’ll organise my answer and post a new proposed transcript. The school is Missouri State University thank you for your time.
Brown2Green:

Why this school?
Your response was not impressive..
How's the SOA? Any lump sum?
What have you been doing.. My take , this was not well organized.

What's the school?

I think you'll be fine. You need some personal work on how to respond.
Travel / Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 15 by Temi87: 7:12am On Jun 12, 2019
Good morning everyone. A friend just told me about this page. My visa was denied yesterday at the consulate in lagos. This was my transcript

Me: good morning
VO: pass me your passport and document. Why did you choose your school.
Me: I chose it because it is accredited by the project management institute global accreditation centre for project management and also offers it under the department of tech and construction management and because I studied Building tech as an undergraduate, it was essential I continued in the same path.
VO: when did you graduate
Me: I graduated in 2016
VO: from which school
Me: the university of lagos
VO: did you take the GRE
Me: yes I did (she looked at me like I should day my score) I had 309 in my GRE and 105 in my TOEFL. (I didn’t mention my school didn’t require toefl, just the GRE)
VO: so what have you been doing since you graduated
Me: I worked with the state ministry of works and housing for a while where I discovered there is increasing need for qualified project managers because a lot projects functionally fail at their delivery dates, I proceeded to work for my former lecturer who is a consultant for various construction companies, going to sites with him and applying PM tools and techniques. Currently I work at a bank headquarters in the project management services department, evacuating the performance risks of various companies who come for loans or extensions on their loans to execute their projects.
VO: who is your sponsor
Me: my elder sister
VO: what does she do
Me: she’s supplies oil and gas to companies as a marketer for nnpc. (Forgot to mention she also manages our mums properties where we collect rent including one hospital)
Vo: pass me her bank statement . (Then she typed for a long time). Has she ever travelled before?
Me: no she hasn’t. (She has a Schengen visa she never used though I didn’t mention that, and she was denied a Canadian visa earlier this year but I don’t know how the VO will connect me to that)
Vo:are you married or single
Me:I’m not married.
Vo: I’m sorry I won’t be approving your visa, though I feel you’ll be qualified at a later time.
Me: thank you. (Then I left).

It was the last at window 7 who nods a lot. I don’t know what the next step should be, though I’m thinking to sending an email to my school to keep them updated of this hitch. The total cost was about 8 million and I had a bank statement of 17 million. I need advice please. Thank you.
