The ability of Barrister Dumo Lulu– Briggs seeking for political space to seek for the mandate to serve his Rivers people is born from his desire to transform the lives of his people to a better one having been born in a wealthy family and having been exposed to the developed world best economic countries in the western part of the globe, Barrister Dumo Lulu- Briggs never changed political party for the fun of it, but in order to have the opportunity to present himself to the electorate in Rivers state for them to choose who to govern them through the use of their permanent voters card-PVC and not through violence orchestrated by those in power today.

Politics / Re: Why Yoruba's Should....... by TheAnakin(m): 11:56am On Mar 05, 2019
KunleyY19:
Some south westerners complain that PMB is nepotistic and that even after Producing the number 2 man in the country we are still powerless...

Here Comes my response as a concerned Yoruba Man...

1... The most powerful minister in this current administration is BRF. A man that is currently heading 3 strong ministries in the country(unprecedentedly)... Some of his achievement towards this Region include:
-> Lagos/Ibadan Expressway
-> Airport Road is currently ongoing
-> Ila-Orangun-Ora-Ilale-Ekan Meje 34.5 kilometre road project
-> Under this man stewardship,TCN has 36 projects in the South West, Sub Stations are being built in Sagamu,Ibadan north Substation, Osogbo-Ede 132KV9, the Akure/Osogbo/Benin North line expansion new Akure Substation, the Ejigbo, the Ayobo/Ikeja substation.
-> housing projects are been executed on a pilot stage in all the South West states...

2... The minister of health is also from this region and perhaps rather unsurprising The first cancer medical centre was commissioned in LUTH another plus for the Region.

3... It will be unfair to forget the Erstwhile minister of Finance is also from this region...

4... Head of FIRS also is from this region

5... Ogun state alone has 20 appointee's under this regime including the VP...

6... A landmark rail project was also launched in this region Lagos- Abeokuta and this government has the plan to take It all through the State capital of all SW states... In a country where it will be forgiven to find a 30 year old that has not travelled by train.

7... This Nepotistic Man also acknowledged June 12 (even after your son ruled for 8years) a Yoruba revolutionary day to be endeared into the national dates of the Country... Although The New Generation And other tribes might see this has a shambolic thing. But to the lives lost on June 12 1993 to the battle for justice this is justice served...

8... It's Even a known fact that the SW has benefited more In Npower than other region... Sometimes I even Think tradermoni is for SW market women not until I saw the VP in other Region Markets...

This Are some of the "Little" things that has been done to this region...

They Are Entitled to say Yoruba's walking into the next level are Myopic and they might want to bring in religious divide into your Tribe but you know sincerely that in your families you relate with members of the three religions peacefully...

But believe you me This same set of people can kill just to get into Lagos...This same tribe has accommodated them so much that they are usually in triumphant spirits when they leave Lagos during festive period to visit their place they abandon...

You've even accommodated them so much that they contest house of rep seats in your own region...Quite Ironical Abi... They even struggle to get your indigene Certificate...
But You know by Nature you're the most Educated and Peaceful tribe...So Keep At It..

And I Challenge A Yoruba Man to reel out the Benefits of the SW during the PDP tenure...

WHAT ELSE CAN A REGION ASK FOR

TENI TENI TI AKISA TA TAN!!!
TI ABA TA ARA ILE ENI L'OPO A KO LE RIRA LO WON!!!

Wise Yoruba's should take note and should be undeterred for we still have a lot to benefit...

What are you saying? 'Fifty-eight political parties did not endorse Wike as their sole governorship candidate'
As such, they took the following decisions: “That we wholeheartedly disassociate ourselves from the concocted, misguided and shameful endorsement of Barr. Nyesom Wike as sole governorship by candidate by a purported coalition of 58 political parties. Such endorsement is watery and belated.

The Coalition of Governorship Candidates and Party Chairmen (CGCPC) has denied claims that 58 political parties endorsed Nyesom Wike, Governor of Rivers State, as their sole governorship candidates

CGCPC accused Wike of plans to cause violence in the state during the March 9 governorship election, just as they dissociated themselves from endorsing Wike as a sole candidate for the election

This was contained in a statement issued by Pastor Warigbani Ezekiel Zebulun, the CGCPC Chairman and APDA governorship candidate, and Honourable Chibuzor Anele, the CGCPC Secretary, on Monday.

The CGCPC said they had studied the political terrain and recent events in Rivers State and had “frowned at them”

Politics / Why Dumo Lulu-briggs Will Perform Better Than Wike by TheAnakin(m): 12:27pm On Mar 04, 2019
For the people of Rivers State and those who have been opportune to interact with him, nothing could best describe him than an extra-ordinary philanthropist and perfect gentleman, a personification of undiluted humanness and complete example of leadership symbolism.

Chief Barrister Dumo Lulu-Briggs is a cynosure of all eyes, his love for supporting the ‘seemingly neglected’ people in the society speaks volume.

DLB as he is popularly known in the political circle made a bold appearance into the Rivers State political scene far back in 1992 and by the year 2003, he had the ticket to contest the governorship election on the platform of the National Democratic Party (NDP) when he contested with the former Rivers State Governor, Dr. Peter Odili.

Though he lost the election then, the Kalabari-born business mogul and grassroots mobiliser had been touring places doing good to people who came in contact with him. Dumo is loved by his people and generally admired by all, his mien speaks volume. DLB has touched so many lives to the admiration of many. He has also rescued many from the shackles of poverty and given them a new lease of life.

Dumo abhors corruption; he is selfless, respectful and God-fearing man whose love for service to the people is sacrosanct. His political support base cuts across the 23 local government areas of Rivers State.

A survey conducted recently in Port Harcourt indicates that Dumo is far ahead of other philanthropists in terms of enhancing the well-being of his people. Dumo has never been indicted with any form of corruption or linked to any form of dubious tendencies; be it cultism-related or politically-motivated.

Dumo is a man who always has the penchant for championing the course of Rivers State students and so many other groups. In 2003, even before he made a landmark appearance in the Rivers State governorship race, DLB sponsored thousands of Rivers students in tertiary institutions till they successfully completed their education. He is committed to enhancing the welfare of the poor.

While other politicians who seem to be gunning for the Brick House in 2019 are busy gathering people for a bottle of Schnapps and Whisky, Dumo is channelling his hard-earned resources to building human capacity. His group, Dumo Support Group, is found in every nook and cranny of Rivers State providing support for the downtrodden and other physically challenged people.

Most people in the state believe that a man who is tirelessly giving hope to the hopeless deserves a place in the political arena. They maintain that if DLB is given the opportunity to serve his people, he would deploy his wealth of experience to serve the people and they will be happy.
For him, he is alive in order to serve humanity. His mien tells it all and his humanitarian services are being acknowledged by all.

Victor Nlerem, a political strategist described DLB as God-fearing and fit for the position of governor of Rivers State.

Nlerem said: “Since 1999 when I came in contact with him, Dumo had been in the business of giving out scholarships from secondary to tertiary students in the 23 local government areas of the state.

“He is a man with passion for excellence in everything he does. I’m sure he will be ready to bring that to bear if given opportunity to serve his people. I think he deserves an opportunity to serve and I have no doubt he would perform and restore the glory of the Garden City.”

Majority of the people believe that with Dumo’s wealth of experience and successes recorded in the field of business, the rate of unemployment will reduce, even as security challenges prevalent in the oil-rich state will be nipped in the bud.

Dumo had maintained: “The true worth of a man is not in the millions of naira in his coffers or wealth accumulated; it is in the way he treats people who are absolutely in need. If you care about people in need, you are actually making a contribution to the development of a nation. We need to give back to the people. Democracy is important in governance.

“We need to see how we can use the available resources to care for people, create employment for all, especially for those who are truly in need. The gap between the poor and the rich should be bridged. Those of us blessed with material resources need to share with others, we must strike a balance with our resources.”

According to credible sources in Rivers State, Dumo’s defection to the Accord Party (AP) signifies good omen to the people of Rivers State. Already, majority of the people in Rivers State are of the opinion that this is the time the people require most the services of DLB. They believe Dumo’s presence in the party will, no doubt, elicit victory for them come 2019 considering his charisma and versatility in human capacity building.

According to Chinwe Ohaka, a member of the Accord Party in Rivers State, Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs is a force to reckon with. Ohaka said a vote for Dumo in 2019 is a vote in the right direction.

Hear him: “As a business man, who has successfully managed his business empire very well, DLB can manage the resources of Rivers State very well. During my unionism days, we paid him a visit and he empowered us very well. He showed us love; he gave us support and provided us with a 14-seater bus, even when the then governor could not provide us with a bus.

“Dumo gave us sets of computers to equip our students’ business centre. For me, DLB is the most qualified person to occupy the Rivers State Government House because he understands the problem of the people and he can confront challenges, particularly the menace of insecurity.
“Dumo can reach out to ‘those boys’ and speak their language. Dumo is truthful and generous to a fault. This is the right time we will in One Accord give him our support because we know that he would salvage us and lead us to the Promised Land “,

The governorship candidate of Accord Party in Rivers State, Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs, has stated Governor Nyesom Wike of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is desperate to be sole governorship candidate in Rivers because of his poor performance and failure to deliver real dividends of democracy to people of the state.

The oil magnate (Lulu-Briggs), who until September 28, 2018 was a governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), spoke on Friday in Port Harcourt at a news conference.

“My quest to liberate Rivers State from the shackles of wicked politicians, who want to continue to punish and impoverish our men and women, instigate our youths into violence and bloodshed and deny our children quality education, is still on track.

Dumo Lulu-Briggs is still in the race by the grace of God. I have no godfather, but God the father and by the grace of God and the will of Rivers people, we shall triumph and start the process to secure the future of every Rivers man, woman and child.”

Politics / Atiku Was Given Temporary Waiver, He's Still Barred From Entering USA by TheAnakin(m): 11:31pm On Feb 05, 2019
The People's Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar visited Washington two weeks ago to meet with top U.S. diplomats and lawmakers thanks to a temporary suspension of a travel ban linked to decade-old bribery scandals, according to people familiar with the matter.

The U.S. administration has not commented on Atiku’s status or his travel, but several U.S. diplomats and others familiar with the visit told Reuters the former vice president has been banned from entering the United States for the past several years after he figured prominently in two corruption cases.

For Atiku’s supporters, the fact he was able to visit Washington on Jan. 17 and 18 without being arrested was proof that the allegations were baseless.

“It is fake news, and we showed that,” said Harold Molokwu, who heads the U.S. chapter of Atiku’s People’s Democratic Party of Nigeria.

Several U.S. government officials said the travel ban was waived temporarily by the U.S. State Department after lobbyists mounted a campaign among congressional lawmakers arguing that the administration should not snub the leading challenger to Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari in the Feb. 16 election.

One person familiar with the matter, speaking on condition of anonymity, said Atiku was allowed to enter because the United States saw little benefit to creating bad blood with the man who might be the next leader of Africa’s most populous nation and the continent’s biggest oil producer.

Lobbyists hired by Atiku said they sought to overcome resistance at the State Department by securing support from members of Congress for the visit, as well as arguing that the top U.S. official for African affairs, Assistant Secretary Tibor Nagy, had an obligation to encourage democracy in the seventh most populous country in the world.

“Assistant Secretary Nagy was pleased to meet with him and share the U.S. government’s expectations that Nigeria’s elections be free, fair, transparent, and peaceful, and reflect the will of the Nigerian people,” a State Department official said, stressing the department had not requested the waiver.

Buhari first took power in a military coup in the 1980s but was democratically elected in 2015. He is seeking a second term in part on an anti-corruption platform.

Atiku’s visa troubles stem from when he served as Nigeria’s vice president, from 1999 to 2007.

He figured prominently in the corruption trial of former U.S. Representative William Jefferson, who was accused of trying to bribe Atiku in an effort to expand a technology business in Nigeria. Jefferson was convicted in 2009 and sentenced to 13 years in prison. His sentence was subsequently reduced.

Separately U.S. Senate investigators in 2010 alleged that one of Atiku’s four wives helped him transfer more than $40 million in “suspect funds” into the United States from offshore shell companies.

Atiku’s whirlwind visit to Washington last month was put together with the help of two U.S. lobbying firms.

Holland & Knight was hired by Atiku personally in December to help him secure a visa, in part by enlisting members of Congress to request one on his behalf, according to a lobbyist for the firm. It has been paid $80,000 so far.

Ballard Partners was hired by Atiku’s political party at a rate of $90,000 per month in September, before Atiku emerged as the party’s candidate, according to U.S. disclosure filings.

The firm’s lobbyists worked to set up a meeting with Nagy, arguing it would show that the United States wanted to encourage free and fair elections in a country where graft is endemic.

“We are not asking the administration or anyone to take sides, but to merely demand the same level of freeness and fairness,” Ballard lobbyist Jamie Rubin told Reuters.

Aside from Nagy, Atiku met with business leaders at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and at least two Republican lawmakers in the House of Representatives who specialize in foreign affairs, Representative Michael McCaul of Texas and Representative Chris Smith of New Jersey.

Neither requested a visa waiver for Atiku, spokespeople for the two congressmen said.

Atiku stayed at the Trump International Hotel, owned by the president, and met with several hundred Nigerian expatriates there, according to two people who attended the gathering.

The luxury hotel is the subject of several lawsuits that allege Trump is violating an anti-corruption clause in the U.S. Constitution that limits the president’s ability to accept gifts from foreign governments.

Atiku’s supporters say they chose the hotel because they were able to book rooms at a discounted rate with only a few days’ notice.
“I think it was because of the availability of the space,” said Uche Udemadu, an official with the U.S. chapter of the People’s Democratic Party of Nigeria.

Politics / PDP Died The Day I Dumped It - Akpabio by TheAnakin(m): 12:34am On Feb 05, 2019
Former minority senate leader, Senator Godswill Akpabio has insisted that the All Progressives Congress (APC) would win the general polls at the federal and Akwa Ibom state, as the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) died in the state the day he dumped it.

Akpabio Senator Akpabio who made the assertion on the campaign trail in Abak, maintained that the outcome of the general polls would deal a deadly blow to governor Udom Emmanuel and his allies, who he said would find the shortest route to escape because of the defeat.

The former governor accused the PDP of recruiting thugs with a view to rigging the polls, but noted that APC would not be intimidated as it was already coasting home to victory in the general elections.

He said: ‘’I have never seen a child being greater than his father. I put all of them there and they cannot be greater than me. Or has any of you benefitted from inter-ministerial jobs? Please don’t think about PDP again because its dead. Since the day I left PDP, the party died. Who was PDP? I was PDP. So, since the day I left, the party died instantaneously. On the 8th of August 2018, that was the day PDP died.

Politics / BUSTED! Fact Check Reveals Atiku And Obi Are Corrupt Liars by TheAnakin(m): 11:54pm On Feb 04, 2019
THE FICTIONS, THE LIES AND THE FACTS IN ATIKU/OBI’S CLAIMS IN THE TV SHOW CALLED ‘THE CANDIDATES’.

Nigerians watched with shock and dismay the barefaced lies and outright dishonest claims of the Presidential and Vice Presidential Candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi in the television show tagged ‘The Candidates’.

Let us tell Nigerians some of the lies they told in that programme, which some simple fact-checks would easily expose.

Lie Number 1:

Alhaji Atiku Abubakar claimed that at handover in May 2019, our GDP growth rate was 6%.

Fact Checked Truth: It is a well-documented fact that at handover, the GDP growth rate was 2.35%. The economy was on a free fall as the GDP growth rate had dropped for three consecutive quarters.

Lie Number 2:

Alhaji Atiku Abubakar claims recession was caused by the APC Government.

Fact Checked Truth: With a consistent and rapid drop of our GDP, their Coordinating Minister of the Economy at that time, Okonjo Iweala, former Central Bank Governor Prof. Charles Soludo and the Central Bank Governor at the time, now Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, warned the PDP Government and Nigerians that we were headed for a recession.

Lie Number 3:

Alhaji Atiku Abubakar claimed that security challenges were restricted to the North East during their time.

Truth: Nigerians will recall that the Boko Haram activities had spread all over the North East, North West and North Central. For instance, the UN Headquarters, Police Headquarters, a Bus stop in Nyanya, a prominent Plaza in Wuse II were all bombed during the era of the last govt. A church or Mosque was bombed every week in 2013/2014. The herders-farmers’ clashes were the deadliest in 2014, claiming over 1,300 lives in a short period across the North. Boko Haram occupied over 17 Local Government Areas and hoisted their flags, effectively establishing a caliphate in the North East. All these happened before the coming of this administration.

Lie Number 4:

Peter Obi claimed that out-of-school children grew to 13.5 million under this administration .

Truth: The figure of 13.2 million out-of-school children was a 2015 survey by UNICEF. An alarm was raised by several global bodies then because the figure had grown from 10.5 million in 2010 to 13.2 million in 2015, despite record earnings of the Government at that time. In other words, Peter Obi’s claim is self-indicting.

Lie Number 5:

That Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, as a Customs officer, said there was nothing wrong at that time with setting up a company that had dealings in the Ports that were under Customs’ supervision.

Truth: The Code of Conduct for Public Officers was first enshrined in the 1979 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Atiku Abubakar co-founded the company, as a serving Customs officer, three years after the 1979 Constitution came into operation. According to Section 1 of the 5th Schedule to the 1979 Constitution, a public officer shall not put himself in a position where his personal interest conflicts with his duties and responsibilities. By establishing a company involved in Port-related business at a time when he was an officer in the Nigeria Customs Service charged with managing the Ports, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar definitely put himself in a position where his personal (business) interest conflicted with his duties as a public officer.

Lie Number 6:

Peter Obi claims Nigeria has record poverty now.

Truth: Despite high oil revenue, according to the World Bank, extreme poverty under PDP grew to 112 million in 2013 through 2014, compared to 86 million today. India pulled their citizens out of poverty for over two decades by using the same methods Nigeria is now using today.

In summary one would have thought that in the course of the programme, ‘The Candidates’, Atiku/Obi would have modified the lies they told earlier in their campaigns and make it consistent with reality as most of them were already fact-checked by independent bodies and proven to be lies. Alas they have continued on the same path, believing that ‘If you tell a big enough lie and tell it frequently enough, it will be believed’.

Politics / Buhari Has Lifted Nigerians Out Of Poverty - Emir Of Kano by TheAnakin(m): 8:35am On Feb 01, 2019
The Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, has commended President Buhari for initiating programmes aimed at alleviating poverty in the country.

Sanusi gave the commendation when Buhari visited him while on a campaign tour on Thursday in Kano.
“Programmes like the N-power and TraderMoni where small traders across the country are given N10,000 each, can go a long way in boosting the country’s economy,” he said.

The Emir also called on the President to initiate more of such programmes so as to ensure the well-being of all citizens.

He also commended the Federal Government for introducing the school feeding programme, saying that the gesture had encouraged more parents to enrol their children in school.

According to Sanusi, the Emirate Council will continue to remind government on issues relating to well-being of Nigerians whenever the need arises.

Earlier, Buhari said his visit was not only to seek for re-election, but to also commend the people for their tireless support for his administration.
“I am in Kano not to tell the people what we are doing to develop the country, but to remind them on the need to perform their civic responsibilities by voting the right candidates. This is because I believe they are aware of what we are doing,” he said.

Politics / Buhari Is Rebuilding Nigeria, Atiku Wants To Destroy It by TheAnakin(m): 10:24am On Jan 30, 2019
For the love of our Country! For Our Future, For our Children's Future pray and think over and over again before you cast Your Presidential Vote! PMB is struggling hard to save us NOT him! If at 76 he still maintain a decent Lifestyle and an extra ordinary one compared to others at his level and status then you should know that he is a man of integrity.

Think of earning a living from hardwork, Resilience and dedication.

Think of a Parent who always push their children to be hardworking and Independent and ones who give theirs Money all the time.

What do you think the end result of these 2 types of Children will be? In the past 3 years we have all noticed how Youths even at secondary school level are embracing entrepreneurship! And they are making it.

This drastic change is visible. It is Crystal clear. Makeup, Digital Marketers, Fashion designers, Caterers, Bakers, Farmers, Buying and Selling etc You must find One person doing one or more in Every Nigerian Family.

The Administration is trying hard to create ease of doing business in Nigeria. eg Company registration of small businesses ! Be very sincere with yourself and make the right decision.

Dont be deceived, PMB is interested in making us Independent. He succeeded in making the less attractive and making Farming and entrepreneurship highly attractive. People are forced to understand that the era of FREE money is Over.!

He cannot do it alone. We must support him. Vote wisely.

Vote Muhammadu Buhari

Politics / Buhari means well for Nigeria - Group by TheAnakin(m): 11:29am On Jan 28, 2019
A group, Re-elect Buhari Movement (RBM) has hailed the second term bid of President Muhammadu Buhari, saying that it is only someone like him that can steer the country’s ship to the Eldorado that we all long for in these times.

Speaking to journalists in Lagos, convener of the RBM, Mr. Emmanuel Umohingyang, a lawyer, said his group, after considering what Nigeria had gone through from 1999 to 2015, decided to support President Buhari “because we know that he meant well for Nigeria”.

Umohingyang urged Nigerians to give Buhari another chance for him to conclude the assignment he started over three years ago. These assignments, he said, include the fixing of infrastructure in the country “at a rate never witnessed before”.

An example of infrastructure fixed by Buhari, he said, is the Second Niger Bridge.

I hope you are aware of massive road construction going on all over the country? Long abandoned projects are being reviewed.
Are you aware that Ajaokuta Steel Company is coming back to life after 40 years? And this government has done extremely well in the agriculture sector, making local rice the preferred food for many.

This government is steadily moving away from having oil as our only source of revenue… So much has been done and so much is being done. That is why we believe that the next four years will fully concretise these achievements,” he said.

“In 2010, former President Goodluck Jonathan went to campaign in Anambra State. He stood on the Niger Bridge and said if he did not complete the Second Niger Bridge, he would go on exile.

We know what happened thereafter. The Buhari administration is massively working on the Second Niger Bridge as we speak,” Umohingyang added.

According to him, the late legal luminary, Chief Gani Fawehinmi, because of the confidence and trust he had in Buhari, told his followers to start supporting Buhari when he (Fawehinmi) lost the presidential election and he vowed never to contest for the country’s top job again.
