Congratulations! Of course it had to get approved! As the boss himself packaged it. Lol
thesoj:
My sister's TRV got approved!!!!!!!!
After two US visa refusals and one Canada refusal over six years. Wow. So happy. Will post her documents and profile in a couple of hours.

Calm yo titties. I didn't say Germany is a "racist country" well, take it or leave it, Germany is known to be generally more racist than some other countries
+ I'm sure you read the part where I said it was my opinion and based on my own experience, not yours. Even the United Nations recently condemned their racist activities and the German govt admitted that they aren't doing enough to suppress racism. You can read up on that
Okay, so you're saying, there is no racism in Germany but they only stare hard at you and not be friendly because you don't look like them. Like those aren't part of racism. Did I say they will stab people because of their race? Anyway, from the bolded, the 17yr old boy who is particular about racism can decide whether he wants to live there or not.
If it's about free tuition, there are other countries in Europe that offer that. Cheers
Eke40seven:
The above statement about Germany being a racist country is a big fat lie. Even in the east where racism is feared, which is quite understandable given their history of communism, Russian rule, absence of many foreigners and being under the shadows of the former west Germany, things can be exaggerated. If you look for racism, of course you will find.
Many Germans may stare hard at you (they do that to other whites that seem not to look like them, no harm meant), they might be shy and cold and not willing to chitchat
with strangers (even their own people) but labelling the country racist is one big accusation and gross generalisation.

Well let the rumour stay that way though, the influx of international student is getting so high (Only second to the US and UK) and the competition for admission getting so fierce because of the free tuition, increase in English taught programmes in some of the best unis in the world and tempting post study benefits. Let the few who know better reap the benefits.

Oga! Even right from Frankfurt airport sef, there's already racism, speaking from experience. We're not saying everybody is racist but there are some countries that are generally more racist than others. Eg Russia and Germany. There's racism everywhere but it's is very prominent in some places
My opinion: if he's so particular about racism, especially as a minor, he should consider other countries instead
thesoj:
Lets not generalize though. You know Germany is a large country... what you just described sounds like an experience one might have in a small town in eastern Germany, but not in a city in western or southern Germany. I have worked with Germans and this is the sentiment I get. Also, the Nairaland German thread confirms this.

I live in the US, but most of the states i have lived in have been very tolerant (racism is not visible); if I lived in, say Mississippi for instance, I would probably have had overt experiences with racism. So let's not generalize some of these countries based on racism in one region of the country.

Yes they are! Even towards their fellow Caucasians (if that makes any sense)
daudugodswill:

Ps: But what do you really consider of Germany, are they racist

Thanks

I understand but the end certificate is what matters you know. Schools are just looking for students so they cater to everyone which is what leads people to actually believing that it is a post-grad program.
I can't even imagine how bad this feels. I would have given up on the second attempt. But with all the help you're getting on this thread, you'll hit them so bad, they wouldn't even dare tick any mumu reason in your next application.
standupguy:

I am inclined to agree with you but also note that advanced diplomas take 3yrs but for the fast track which is considered in most schools as a post graduate program takes 2yrs.
E.g the chemical production and power engineering program - accelerated at lambton college is listed as a post graduate program that offers advanced diploma on graduation. (2yrs).
Secondly why would schools create such discrepancies for CIC to take advantage of it?
I will be requesting for my file sha just to put this to rest at least.
We also need to clear it up so people don't fall into the trap.
It will be extremely painful if this was the only reason.

@thesoj, @berexio1
Sorry guys, slept off last night.
You are so on point with your analysis. If he had included that in his initial list of documents I think it'd have been really obvious what went wrong. New school, different program, of course it's a brand new application and new things can pop up.
No one on the thread will even advise any graduate to go for advance diploma cos we know how badly it affects one's application.
@standupguy I think that switch showed a bit of desperation. I'm sure you addressed it in your SOP but the VO was obviously not convinced. It looks like a "by all means" situation + your brother being staying after school was like the little icing on the cake.
If you have the strength, you can do a final application with either a Masters or PGD admission, it's more suitable with your age and work experience. Success

Bro, we all have our stories. Thank God for his mercies. Let's just pray for Nigeria. We all want to migrate for the sole purpose of making our lives better. If only we could enjoy that in the country we call our own. Let's just pray for Nigeria. Bless
TempusQ:

While you're in secondary school you did titration (Chemistry Practical) one person per stand with a Bunsen Burner, but in university 8 persons per stand with Kerosene Stove in one of the Nigeria Federal Universities.
What can we call that "A Progression" or "Regression"?
The rich keep getting richer while the poor keeps getting poorer...
So, migrating to countries like Canada for me is the best for a better Nigerian.

Calming myself down, don't wanna remember things of the past.

It's is not advisable to leave out such information. It is clearly stated that your family information form must include information of parents and siblings. They don't need to do any research for your name to pop up as a sibling of a past applicant. What will lead to an outright denial is lying as well as leaving out information that they specifically asked for. It's like a booby trap, that is why they request and keep such information on their database. You should read the US thread, you'll probably understand better.
berexio1:
No,it won't end up in a mess.Am of the opinion that you can leave out information bt don't lie about anything. If CIC decides to research on their own,,good and fine. The truth is that more often than not, they use the information you supplied to them.

It's not overstaying because it's legal anyway.
+ don't forget that the person already filled a family information form when he/she was applying so they probably already have your name in their record if he/she is your sibling. Leaving out that information isn't advisable. It's just going to end in a mess
berexio1:
For those who have relatives in Canada, bear in mind that their status over there can affect ur application especially if the person came in through study route and has overstayed. For PR relatives, this might be looked at differently.

My advise is to leave out the person's details on ur family form. He is in canada already so I don't see you inviting him over.

Cheers!

You're forgetting that applications get into the hands of different VOs, because VO1 and VO2 didn't have a problem with purpose and length of stay doesn't mean VO3 wouldn't. They judge based on individual discretion and that's what they apply to different applications. Some are nice enough to overlook certain things, others aren't.
+ they already know that standupguy's brother didn't come back after his studies whether he mentioned it or not and he's even going to the same town as his brother. They have it in their records. You sef check am na
It's truly unfair though, especially since he paid full tuition. It is well

You can look at multiple airline eg Virgin and Air Canada has LOS-LHR-YHZ I'm not sure if you'll need a transit visa to go through Heathrow but you might want to get a UK visa cos the layover is very long.
There are other multiple airline flights that you can check for as well. Check Momondo, travelstart etc.
funmi14:
Good a.m. Pals!!!
Pls I have a couple of questions for the house.
Is Air Travel Insurance (ATI) necessary/ a must to enter Canada? So also, Yellow Fever Card?
Secondly, connecting flight I saw to Halifax N.Scotia will pass through US( New York or so), pls is there any other way round to enter Canada apart from enroute US( to avoid Transit Visa Quagmire)
I will appreciate anybody travelling to Halifax around August 31, for co - brainstorming.
Thanks.

Let's not deviate oh but don't misunderstand me. I'm blaming the government not the people that are trying to better their lives. If only resources could be properly managed. It's one of the things Buhari must focus on and he's doing a great job with that already. God bless Nigeria.
standupguy:

You can't sincerely blame anyone who wants to acquire good education and probably gainfully contribute to the development of any geographical location they find themselves.
All my friends and classmates are through with their post graduate studies 3 or 4 ago, i simply refused to leave Nigeria until 2012 after my older brother left for his post graduate.
During my undergraduate days i embraced Info- tech quite early, so i couldn't understand why i was learning a course like FORTRAN 77 programming language as at 2004 nor could i understand why the hell i was using a manual drawing board for engine drawing.

Or why the citizens of the so called "Giant of Africa" are running helter skelter looking for "greener pastures" in all sorts of countries that don't even have half the resources we have. But then, there's hope for a better Nigeria
Fhemmmy:

I will rather have Buhari look into why Nigerians (The most populated Black nation in the world )will have to have their visa to Canada being decided by Ghana and being processed there. . . I see that as an insult to Nigerians.

Like I said before, nobody here can tell. Some people receive an approval mail after they pick up and some don't even get it until they email CIC after picking their passport. So just get your passport back first

Exactly, I was wondering why he would use vfs tracking when he has CIC
berexio1:
Actually,,online route has no biz with VFS tracking..Just marry ur CIC account..VFS tracking is predominantly for paper..Make e just be like VFS is aware of ur app na why dem give u track ID

@kennykentipsy
The $300 POS/Online transaction daily limit policy has been reviewed. This is from GTB
"Please be informed that we have just been notified today 10/08/2015 that you are now eligible to make a $10,000 monthly POS/Online transaction; such that you can decide to initiate a $10,000 transaction in a day-which automatically means you have exhausted your monthly limit, this was updated after the initial circular sent during the weekend."

Mr. Daudugodswill, was it upfront medicals? Did you do medicals before applying? If yes, then you can't know anything until you pick up your passport.
If you didn't do upfront medicals and didn't get medical mail, then it's most likely a denial
If you got medical mail and have done medicals, keep your fingers crossed
daudugodswill:

Oga wait i did my medical before dispatch.....

Yes it will work anyway, all banks say you should notify them just so they won't block any transaction thinking it's fraudulent. The new $300 limit thing is just ridiculous. They're trying every trick to crash the dollar. I'm sure it's just for a while. It's a new CBN directive
kennykentipsy:

OMG $300 limit for pos I tot it was N1000000 ?

all my ATMs still have 3 years expiry dates

what am nt sure about diamond bank's atm do I have to notify them I wanna use my card abroad for an upgrade or Its gonna work straight away?
Travel / Re: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 9:43pm On Aug 09, 2015
I'm would recommend Stanbic and Diamond. They're quite consistent with their rates. Apart from withdrawal limit, there are now $300USD daily limits for online and POS transactions as well so you might want to go with all your cards just so you don't get stranded. If any of your cards is about to expire, just renew it before you go
kennykentipsy:

OK cos I also got some good apartments with good walkscore

so which bank do u advise me to stick with GTB or diamond for ATMs withdraw abroad?
Travel / Re: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 9:24pm On Aug 09, 2015
Yes, saw it on kijiji and then googled the address to see other pictures and ads about it. Then contacted the agents
kennykentipsy:

was it kijiji??
