Travel / Re: Usa Visit Visa Part 5 by thediva(f): 10:32am On Sep 04
Thank you so much for this. I dropped my passport on the 10th of July, and have got no email, the ceac website keeps telling me it has no info. I tried the new website, opened a ticket, got an auto response to wait for 48hours same as others. I tried to book a pickup appointment last week, it did not work. After seeing your post now, I tried again and got an appointment to pick up for $0. Pickup location is Idowu Taylor. I still do not know for sure that it is there, but I will go. Thank you. Your post encouraged me to try it again.

Browser123:
I asked last week if anyone has received a pickup email and no one has shared their experience so I'm sharing mine as I got our passports today.
We were scheduled to leave for the US last Friday but I had to move our flights because we did not have our passports. I'm on a work visa so I have return tickets to the US.
The new site says to wait 48 hours but no one seems to know anything. If it's 48 hours from August 26th, we are way past that and no email still. I understand a system change can be disruptive but this was done very badly.
So today I created an account on the OIS website and set up an appointment to pickup our passports, it let me do so @ $0 and my pickup location was dhl muri okunola which was the delivery location I chose when I set up the interview waiver appointment. I went there and they said they do not have the passports so I should go to OIS. We got to OIS and there was a lot of people waiting to pickup their passports. The common theme seems to be that no one received pickup emails, they just showed up like I did. DHL has been taking passports to OIS so if you can track your passport on the CEAC website and it's been issued for a while and you are on a time crunch, go to OIS. Be prepared to wait a bit, there were lists of names and passport numbers that they were going to check first then they either tell you they don't have it and to come back or they have it. In my case they had our passports and I paid #48k per passport to receive them. Good luck to everyone.

Thank you for responding. It is not in my spam. I tried the new website, I could not figure it out. I will call now. Thank you.

Thank you very much. I submitted July 10th. I started checking about 3 weeks ago, and it has been the same thing each time. I am starting to panic, I've never experienced this before. I have checked a thousand times, and I filled in the correct numbers.

Ikebabay:
When did you submit? For me, when I searched on CEAC the day I submitted at DHL (Surulere, Lagos), I got the same "search did not return any data" but by the next day, it had changed to "application received" and has been like that for about 10 days.

Regarding ustraveldocs, the US has changed their service provider that's why the ustraveldocs isn't working. If you attempt to access the traveldocs page now, you'll see a message saying it's no longer the platform for US visa applications.

All the best!

Hello everyone, how was your day? I need help please, I have been trying to see the status of my IW application, but the website does not work. It keeps telling me "Your search did not return any data." I have tried another browser, another network, same thing. I don't know what I am doing wrong. I went to Abuja to drop, I need to be sure it is ready so I can buy another ticket. The traveldocs websiote is not working too. It rolls and then logs me out.. very odd. Please help.

Start the process from beginning. Fill a new ds160. Change the code on your profile. Then go ahead and book. I think Abuja is in August or so. Lagos is currently November.

Thank you very much for your detailed response. I figured it out yesterday. I got July 10th which is much better than November. There are still some days left in July for Abuja.

Good afternoon everyone.
I am trying to get an IW appointment. I chose Lagos when I filled my DS160, I got the email to schedule an appointment, but I don't want to wait till October. I have not picked a date yet. How do I change location to Abuja? Thank you.

I’m doing an IW for a B1/B2. I chose the option of dropping off at the DHL office in isolo. After booking my appointment, I see the print out has appointment details at Lagos Embassy and document pickup at DHL Isolo. While still stating the applicant visa category is “visa renewal without interview”.

So my question is, the date and time is chose for the appointment is it when I’d go to DHL and drop off or I’d still drop off at the embassy?

Yes, that date is when you go and drop your passport at DHL.

Health / Re: What Can He Use For This Skin Problem? (Photo) by thediva(f): 10:02pm On Mar 05, 2022
He needs to stop using bleaching products and se a skin repair product that is made with skin safe ingredients. If he doesn't mind something that will take his skin back to factory settings (no more fake yellow skin, just his natural skin tone) he can try this skin repair kit https://adunniorganics.com/shop/skin-repair-kit/

Mercychen:
What do you recommend for this skin blemish? grin.

Advice, please.

Hello.

If you have an existing appointment, cancel it, then click on schedule new appointment. If you didn't have an appointment before, just click on new appointment, and then answer the questions that follow. If you answer correctly and qualify for an IW, you will be able to pick a date if dates are available. Good luck.

Thank you very much. I called and they said refused isn't a final decision, it just means that they need to take a closer look at some things. A final decision would be "approved" or "denied". So I won't track anymore abeg, I don't want high BP. I'll just wait for them to say we should come for her passport.

Dampops:
They will send a mail on passport pick up and you will see the reason for the refusal or what other documents are required

How did this go?

chioma76:
Please what does this IW status means:

A U.S. consular officer has adjudicated and refused your visa application. ... If you were informed by the consular officer that your case was refused for administrative processing, your case will remain refused while undergoing such processing. You will receive another adjudication once such processing is complete.

Hello, Please is there anyone that has submitted or is submitting documents this week via the IW window? I got a date for next week Monday, but i'll just like to know how the process is or has been from the early birds. Thanks in advance..

My date is the 24th, a friend was there on Monday. She said her appointment was for 8.30am, but she didn't finish till 11am because there were so many applicants with only 2 staff to attend to them. According to her, there was no data collection, people were just asked some questions (she didn't say what) and the passports were collected from them.

For anyone wondering what to do, go ahead and cancel existing appointment. Then schedule new appointment.
The question about 24 months is not a glitch...people are just reading it wrongly.
The question is did your visa expire more than 24 months ago. The answer should be NO because eligibility is for those whose visas expired within the past 24 months.
Then answer the following questions and choose your date.
There are only 4 dates left in Feb but there are plenty of slots available for each date.

This is exactly what I did just now and got an appointment for Feb 24. Thank you.

Hello USMissionNGRA.
It's really great that questions regarding US visas can be asked like this. My mum and I submitted applications for NIVs via drop box a month apart. She submitted hers on the 8th of April 2019 and I submitted mine on the 2nd of May 2019. We haven't heard back yet, but we tracked the status of both Visas and while mine says PASSPORT RECEIVED, hers says NO STATUS. I am a little concerned about that and have emailed lagosNIV@state.gov but got a generic response. I'd appreciate some guidance on what NO STATUS means and of there is anything we can do about it. Many thanks.

I need any suggestion on how to make my hair grow soft,I love afro but anytime the hair grows it always hard to comb and too dry often. any positive suggestion?

can I try out the Emily millionaire coconut oil and herbs though it is for female

Hello dear, i have a really nice conditioning cream for hair. It is a mixture of shea butter, indian hemp, avocado oil, olive oil and some other oils too. It is really fantastic and it makes my hair so soft and manageable. I bought it from this website https://adunniorganics.com/product/shea-butter-essentials/
Fashion / Natural Hair Care by thediva(f): 5:52pm On Dec 14, 2014
The natural hair trend has been around for quite a while now, but in recent times, it seems like everybody and their sister is jumping on the bandwagon. You've probably wondered why anyone would want to keep their hair in a difficult-to-manage state of wiry, semi-unkempt, trauma inducing dryness. Really, what exactly are the benefits of ‘’going natural’’? For those of us who have asked ourselves (or others) that question, this thread is for you. Sit back, and enjoy. You never know, after this, you just may join us!
Growth
A lot of the time, many ladies have experienced hair growth only up till a certain point. (Chin length, shoulder length, etc.) But after going natural, the hair gains a life of its own and reaches lengths that they could only dream about before (myself included).
Fullness
Going natural means an end to lifeless, thin, limp hair. Chemical straightening of hair results in breaking the bonds in our hair which makes it lose its curls, and many times, its thickness too. My hair is fine in texture, and relaxers just made it worse. I would look like the proverbial ‘’iya eko’’ after retouching, and I just ended up covering it with weaves. Since going natural, my hair is full and strong, and I’m even getting compliments about it.
General health
Lauren Wise of Boston University’s Slone Epidemiology Center led a research team that found that that hair relaxer use could increase the risks of uterine leiomyomata commonly known as fibroids because of the exposure to chemicals in the relaxer from lesions caused by burns to the scalp.
Uniqueness
Because DNA is unique to each individual, our hair is also distinctive, meaning that your hair is an exclusive! No two people can have the same type of hair, not even twins, and this allows you to rock styles and trends in a way that is uniquely yours. We can all agree that hair is a major identifier for us ladies, so imagine the possibilities…
It’s more affordable
I can hear some people shouting out at this point, but trust me, I’m right. Black hair care is a $9 billion industry while 30 percent to 34 percent of all hair products in the United States are purchased by Black women, 9try adding up the amount you’ve spent on weaves, extensions, relaxer, salon fees, etc. in the last year!). I know that natural girls buy a lot of products for their hair, but this is simply because a lot of us are in the process of trying out things that work (or not). When you settle into a hair routine, you’ll find that most of your hair treatments can be done with a lot of stuff in your fridge/kitchen cabinets within a few minutes, and by yourself, no less!
Versatility
Natural hair has so many styling options, it’s ridiculous. You can actually wear a different style every day. From an afro, to straw curls, to straightened, to protective styles like weaving, braids and dreadlocks, your choices are endless.
Black and proud!
Our natural hair is uniquely African, the afro has been a symbol of Black Empowerment for a long time, and it represents our beauty and strength as a people. Many view going natural as an awakening or an acceptance of the natural beauty of Black women and a rejection of the European concepts of what has been regarded as “beauty” for far too long. The natural hair movement is helping a lot of Black women confirm that we are beautiful just the way we are.
I've been on my natural journey for about 2 years now, (one year transitioning and one year fully natural), and I love learning and teaching about how to get the best out of my tresses. Please feel free to ask questions about natural hair, or just post your own story to help others. Thanks.
